Introduction: A History of Our Worlds:
The planets and worlds have gone through much age, being settled and resettled over the course of time. The Helexicon Empire, a galactic super-power which rose from the southern planets in the late 1700's, that being 1700 years after the destruction of the Phoenix Empire which once ruled the worlds. The Empire's reach stretched far as it grew, and in the northern lands, conquered in campaigns in the 1900's, the Empire's only power is through the Knights, a force of all Phoenix guards that enforce the Helexicon rule and authority in the region. The Phoenix, since the dawn of written history, were a threat to civilization. They were humans, like all others, only they could bend the elements to their will. The Treaty of the Crosses in 1450 was a written agreement signed by all reigning systems at the time that all Phoenix citizens would be either killed or imprisoned on the mountains of the planet Bao, where they lived alone in the cold. In the year 1892, the Helexicon Empire, which had been growing in the south, sent agents to Bao. They unleashed the Phoenix, dressed in silver armor and capes, on the north. And the Dormans, the Neahians, and the Bakos fell to the power of the Phoenix Knights and the Helexicon Empire. A hundred year reign began of violence and oppression on the land. Only one world resisted the Phoenix, the holy world of the Matran, who formed an army, under the watchful eye of God, and fought back. The Phoenix, though more powerful, were severely outnumbered by the commoners, and in the North, every Phoenix Knights, and any family of theirs, were hunted and killed. The Common folk had won. The Helexicon Empire fractured and dissolved, in its wake new systems, loyal to the Matran. In one of these systems, the Sora System, the Knights, an order once loyal to the Helexicon and restricted to Phoenix, was now an order loyal to the Sora System and was open to all men and women born within the system. It is now the year 2250, and the Sora System has prospered into a imperial republic constantly expanding. The Church of Sor has been founded, and for the first time since the Helexicon Empire, Sorillian Phoenix's are no longer hunted.

"We can't go out like this!" Ulian Ecko cried to his partner as they began to be swept up by the waves. "We need to!" His words were cut off as his head was consumed by water. "We need to get to the ships controls!" He said as his head emerged. "I won't go out like this! And neither will you... partner."

"Compose yourself," Lenira hissed through clenched teeth as she grabbed the collar of her husband's jacket and gave him a rather hard slap on his left cheek. Lord Bisentan looked dazed for a moment but quickly composed himself, clearing his throat as he realized his reaction to the situation may have been a tiny bit extreme.
"Sorry girls, but despite the fact we're talking about the doom of the Devonian name, let's not make fools of ourselves," he declared as he turned to a noble next to him and elbowed him in the ribs. "I mean, am I right? Eh? Eeeeeehh?"

"I have been led to believe that the Ultimate Organization helped those in need," Derek said in a low voice to Bellatrix who glared at him, her mouth a taut line of irritation.

As water filled the docking bay, the small fighter was their only refuge. Lauren and Aero had pulled the old man from the cockpit, leaving him to find his own way out, to which he swam off in to the darkening water. The waited for the bay to completely submerge before firing the stabling thrusters. The jolt was enough to get them started, but the water quickly shorted the thrusters out. they floated closer to the open bay, praying that the thrusters had been enough. It wasn't enough though and the small fighter stopped short of the bay door. Lauren sighed in frustration, kicking the canopy, causing it to crack, then all at once it shattered, flooding the cockpit. There was no time to react and both clung to the ship before trying their hardest to kick and move it to the open water where they'd activate the water landing recovery system. Lauren strained to push, kicking off what ever debris were behind her, finally the ship lurched forward and the girls pulled themselves to the cockpit and Aero broke the glass covering the system's activation. A small charge exploded around the ship, inflating the air bags that would raise the fighter to the surface quickly. Aero smiled at Lauren, but her vision began to fail as she started to lose consciousness from no longer being able to hold her breath. The last thing she'd see before blacking out was the sun shining through the water as they rapidly rose to the surface.

The Makeshift's Deep Space Motor cooled as it sunk through Longbao's atmosphere, over the ocean to see the city below. Nulix leaned forward in the pilot's seat at the sight. The Capital City, the seat o power on this strange little world, was in ruins, half of it sinking onto the oceanic basin that it was built upon. The very shores that sustained the cities economy now flooded their streets, the very river that connected it to the rest of the continent was now clogged with the ruins of bamboo made houses and people. "Longbao," Nulix muttered as he looked down. "What a place you are."
"They're getting decimated down there," Alette commented. Wing made a comment about landing, to which Alette nodded. "Princeton," She said, putting her hand on Nulix's shoulder. "You're not a good enough pilot, he'll swat us out of the air. Let me take over."
"No, we're not landing," Nulix replied, his eyes fixed out the window. "I have a plan. Just like old times."
At the square outside the Royal Palace an arm of water came crashing down, smashing the stone in two and dividing the long stairway up to the palace's gates apart. Captain Duceyae grabbed onto one side of the palace steps, the rest of his body dangling off the great divide into the earth below that slowly began to fill with sea water. He looked up, his eyes nearly blinded by sweat and dirt, into the skies above him. Blocking the sun was the Beast of Lun, starring down at him.
"If he strikes again he'll bring the whole palace down!" Lord Wanksor Opert cried from the Palace entrance, in a large group with the other nobles.
"If he strikes again it will very well be our end..." Another whispered desperately. The Viceroy looked down at Duceyae, and the remaining dozens of Legionnaires regrouping at either side of the divide. He turned to the Nobles, with his eyes weary, but not sad. "If he strikes again, my lords, my ladies, this will be the end of Sorillian presence beyond Dead Space," He spoke. "Do not be sad when he strikes down... For you will only feel for a moment the sting of wetness, and then a bright light..."
He reached his hand down to the chin of a Nobleman's child and perk it upward. "And you will find yourself in a better place," He whispered with a smile. Below Duceyae heard the words, and, after a moment of contemplation, he let out a sigh, for he knew now what he had to do. The Legionnaire unhooked his heavy cloak from his neck, letting it fall down the divide, before pulling his body back up onto the left side of the broken stairs. "Legionnaires! Hundred and First!" He called as he sprinted down the left divide steps now utterly unrecognizable to what they had been. "That monster isn't after the palace, it's after us!" He yelled out. The Legionnaires looked up at their Captain, they just as battered and bruised as he.
"So..." Duceyae whispered as he reached the bottom of the steps. "Let's give him what he's after." Duceyae's hands went to his hips, where he pulled out his shortsword and raised it in the air. From the light of the sun, through the waterous beast before them, his blade gleamed. With it leading his boot heel's he charged, through the hills of ruble that had once been a city. He turned to his left he ran. Beside him were all the Legionnaire's in the square, their blades, or what ever weapons they had left, forward as well. He turned to his right, and over the chasm the Legionnaires did the same.
"From stone to stone!" Duceyae yelled as he ran across the hills of debris. "From Capima to Kiris... To Longbao!" He cried out, followed by a roar from the Legionnaires behind him. "We are the sword of the Senate, the shield of the people, the blanket of the King!" He spat as he ran. "We are what the Knight's lack the man power to be!" He called with a laugh, that shook his body deeply as he jolted over a metal rooftop now dugged into the ground. "We are the Legion!" He called as before him, in the center of the city, from a cyclone of the sea that now flooded the metropolis, the base of Lun's beast rose. At the center of the cyclone Lun's form stood, his body and mind strained and his veins popping from the feat of Phoenix power he now performed. "We are the Sora System!" He finished, taking one last leap, off the end of a metal plank into the cyclone. The rest of the Legionnaires followed, dozens of them jumping off into the whirlpool.
"And this is my plan!" Nulix cried. The Makeshift plummeted head first through the form of the water beast, ripping through the head and heading directly downward. "Everybody, jump, now!" Nulix cried, opening a door and throwing himself out it. Alette, Sir Mute, and all others aboard did the same, flying out into the water. Just before he had jumped Nulix had activated the ship's Deep Space Motor. The Makeshift blasted itself forward, smashing through the water faster than the speed of light, and ramming itself head first into Lun's head. It sent itself, Lun at it's front cradling through the ground before blowing up less than a second later. The water collapsed down onto the city as Nulix swam to the top of the cooling flood waves. From across the way he saw several Legionnaires too float up to the surface, treading water carefully. "Ha hey... Legionnaires, yeah you guys tried to kill us a month ago..." Nulix called. "Feel free to apologize anytime."
From the hole the ship made a fountain of fire blasted out through the waters, presumably from the explosion it had created deep within the World's crust. A second later, the fires died out. Nulix turned to hist friends and doggy-paddled over to them carefully. "Okay," Nulix said, a massive grin on his face. "When I have plans they're damn good plans, admittedly." He turned to Bella obnoxiously. "See," He said. "I'm not completely useless."
"Ultimate Organization!" The Viceroy called as from the rubble above the pool he and the other Nobles gathered. "It seems I am in your debt again, for this is the second time you saved me... the first was many years ago, on a Knight ship. Your leader pulled me out when I would of died, then continued on forward... So thank you, again." The man gave a bow. Lord Wanksor Opert reluctantly followed, before pulling himself back into posture. "That still leaves us stranded on Longbao, though," He murmured as he scratched his chin. As the words escaped his mouth, in the foreground, from the sea the Devil's Trident emerged floating to the surface, it's engines steaming and water violently rushing out of every orifice the deep space giant contained.
"Thats uh... yeah," Opert said as he hid himself in the crowd of Nobles. The Viceroy squinted his eyes at the sight. "Look there... in the Command Deck window..." He called. "It's... it looks like there are only two men at her helm!"
***
"God damn we're good!" Officer Ulian Ecko of the U.P.A. spat through gritted teeth as he lit another cigarette. He and his partner stood waist deep in the sea water that filled the Command Deck of the Devil's Trident. He turned to man, Officer Pharell Titan, who lay over the giant wooden wheel of the ship breathing deeply. "It was no easy ride raising this birch, in fact science and all these others wet-wumped pansies would say it's impossible, but we did it..." Ecko said with a small grin as he looked at his partner. "You know what, Titan? You're not half bad."

"They should be cheering for Pharell and Ecko too," Mellodia answered, nodding at the Trident, as many of the surviving passengers, Sorillian and Longbaoan made their way out of the ship and towards shore as two random U.P.A officers who sat there eating coffee and cigarettes.
"Who and who?" Xane asked, and before Mellodia could answer, Xane interrupted with a, "Never heard of 'em!", causing her to shoot him a look before laughing. "Well, whoever they are, they did good, savin' the Trident...Huh, never thought, I'd say that," Xane continued.

"Heh," Pharell chuckled, pouring himself a boiling cup of liquidized caffeine drink. "And you, Ecko? Well, I still think you're fucking crazy....But your a damn good agent!" Pharell nodded, raising a hand to Ecko. "Put 'er there...Partner!"

"You have to admit he did a good job," Derek pointed out as they approached the cheering crowd.
"And you'd have to admit your assumptions from before were hasty and wrong," Bella snapped. "Not exactly something you'd want to do, now would you?"
"Your group has its merits and its vices. It is not exactly the most heroic and put together group, but it does have its moments," Derek replied gently to which Bella scowled. He said something else but Bella didn't hear him, concentrated on reaching the shore.
"Hmph, can't wait to see how this'll turn out," Derek thought with a roll of his eyes as he passed his sister.

"Yes," Nulix replied. "Yes we have. But our journey does not end there... The Emperor of Longbao is dead but he has a heir," He turned to see the Translator walk forward. "He can't speak our language, or Longbaon, nor does he know who he is... yet he remains the rightfully ruler of this planet, my lord."
"Problematic..." The Viceroy replied. "Not the morality behind your decisions but the process of completing them. He cannot rule Longbao as he is now, he needs training, he needs to know who he is!" The Viceroy glanced at the flooded city behind him. "And he cannot learn that here..."
"Then bring him to the city of Sor," Lord Wanksor Opert suggested as he stepped forward. "He'll learn language there, politics, return to rule when he's ready."
The Translator looked at the Lord with doubt and then back to Nulix, who sighed. "Alright," He said, glancing back at the Devil's Trident as it flew over the city. "To Sor it is. Is everyone going?"
"Aye, Princeton. Nothing left here," Withermere muttered as he passed with the rest of the nobles. All but one.
"Look at this place... it's in ruins," The Viceroy called from the rubble. "THey need to rebuild, to fix themselves. I can do more for these people here than I ever could in the Senate, or in court. I know my place, and it is here. On Longbao."
Nuli xnodded at the man with a smile. "Take care, Viceroy of Sor," He whispered as he and the rest of the characters there began to make their way to the landing Devil's Trident.

"Alarisset?" Bellatrix asked in disbelief. "We didn't leave you behind?"
"We didn't leave you behind?" Alarisset mocked with a sneer. "Sorry darling but it's not that easy to get rid of me."
"But there was no one on the ship other than us," Bellatrix started. "And the ship was crashed and..."
Alarisset dismissed her words with a wave of her hand. "Logic is useless. Just get your shite of a team on the ship and let's get off this rock can we?"
"You know this isn't your planet right?"
"What?"
"Never mind," Bellatrix muttered and just as she was about to walk into the Devil's Trident, she was shoved roughly aside by Alarisset who strolled onto the ship before anyone could stop her. Aud shook her head and stepped over Bellatrix as she followed suit. Derek had already boarded the ship, with some hesitation, and was waiting for the others to come aboard as well.
"Yeah, no one help me up," Bellatrix muttered irritably as she picked herself up. She paused a moment to look at the rubble. "Well this isn't exactly the reunion I was hoping for," she sighed and turned to enter the ship. "But I still wouldn't give this up for anything."
It was a rough beginning and the path they were taking would certainly not smooth out any time soon. Bellatrix had waited three long years for their journey to continue. It was not a new beginning for the group. It was a new path in a changing universe. For Bellatrix, there were still lingering traces of the past and new connections that would ultimately affect all of their futures. Alarisset was one of those, rather unfortunate, connections. It seemed overwhelming, all of these new factors, but luckily the UO had stayed the same. If only it could stay that way.

XO Presley Smiled and nodded, “Yes, the Seraphim and the Legion will stay behind, we’ll wait for Master Maximus to return.”
“He’s dead, there is no reason to wait.” Raziel admitted with a grim look.
Pressley looked at the boy… no, he was less of a boy now and more a young man, he looked the youth in the face and smiled, “Do you really believe that?” he asked.
Raziel looked at his hands and reflected on what he had seen while at the old woman’s, “No… he’s alive… or at least I’d like to believe so…” Michael rested a hand on the young man’s head and nodded in agreement.
“Well then, he’ll need his troops if ever he should return here…” Raziel mumbled about waiting as well and Michael slapped him upside the head, “You know we can’t stay, kid, we’ve got things to do… things only you can do…” Raziel nodded and looked up standing tall. Michael saluted the XO and spoke clearly, “Well then, I in trust her to you Commander Pressley, Take care of her!” he shook the man’s hand and the new captain of the Seraphim left the Devil’s Trident to return to their ship.
Raziel turned to his new comrades and spoke up, “I guess we’ve got some work ahead, back home I mean…” he glanced to Wing and Michael stood next to him, “You boys seem kind of undermanned… mind if we tag along?”

Sinolbi chuckled as his boot found Gale's face. "Thought you'd reunite with your brother did you? Nonsense boy, you are assigned to the Lady Lorian, and you will remain here." He marched out of the room with a laugh, clutching a bottle of wine in his hand. Gale rubbed the spot on his cheek where Sinolbi's boot left dirt and whatever else. He spit blood and wiped his chin with a sigh. "Wing, you are alive..." He said with a sigh and smile, his mind now focusing on the man that had been standing with Wing. He'd never seen him before, yet, something seemed so familiar.

Lauren and Aero had managed to get the ship afloat. Aero took a few deep breaths as her vision slowly returned. After almost being drowned, she was thankful to be alive. They rested on the wings of the floating fighter trying to figure out their next move. Suddenly the water began to move around them, and the bridge of the Devils Trident emerged. Soon the rest of the ship would appear, the fighter clung to the DT like a magnet.
After the fighting and the happiness the girls would climb aboard, ready to return to Sor. That's when they got a glimpse at the UO. Lauren would storm off, her face red with anger, Aero stood in place, looking at Wing, then back to Lauren as she walked away. "There's a story there..." She muttered as she followed Lauren.

You’re a good pilot, as is Xane… but this big ship needs three intrepid helmsmen…” he sighed and seemed uninterested, “I guess I’ll over my services then, but I’ll need your help Princeton.” He seemed like this would be a pain in the ass to him but those he spoke with knew him better, he was drooling to get his hands on the helm of this behemoth. For once Michael had made a joke.
