Calliope had decided to get a drink from the kitchen. She automatically grabbed a robe for there was a bit of a chill in the air. Taking a flashlight, she quietly walked out of her room into the dark hallway before reaching the stairs. When she reached the bottom, she was about to turn towards the kitchen when she heard a noise. Instantly, she stood still and felt her heart pound. Was her hearing playing tricks on her? Waiting a few more minutes, she figured she was just hearing things, but another sound. It sounded like a knock. Was someone at the door? It seemed strange that someone would be here this late? And on a rainy night no less. Should she wake up her aunt? At the same time, she was scared that it could be someone unsavory. Oh, she didn't live close to Xibalba, but that didn't mean anything wrong happened in other parts of the city.
By the time there was a third knock, Calliope decided to check to see who it was first. She walked to a nearby window and peeped through the curtain. She managed to see who it was. It was a young man. The teen peered closer and managed to recognize the guy. She had seen him at school from time to time. She was about to move when she heard footsteps. Turning, she saw Aunt Jessica come down. She had a robe on as well.
"What is it Calli?" she asked.
"One of the guys I've seen at school is here." Calliope answered.
"Oh? Why would anyone come calling this late?" she said before opening the door.
Jessica looked at the young man. He appeared to be a nice guy.
"Good evening. Can I help you with something?" she asked him.
Calliope remained out of site.
