The woman said: "Well young man, I am afraid I can't allow Calli out this late. However, maybe she can go out with you at a better time. Of course, I don't just want anyone taking my niece out. Could you give me your name at least?"

Alex stopped and looked at her from the corner of his eye, he was about to reply when Calli walked up and looked around her aunt. She seemed so familiar, yet he knew he didn't know her aside from passing her randomly at school. They'd never talked, never even actually looked at each other. Why does it feel like I know her? I don't know her, but I feel like there's an actual connection type thing between myself and her. Every time I go to leave this doorstep something stops me. I should just leave. This doesn't have to continue I can just go now.

The woman interrupted his thoughts by saying, "Aww, Calliope, nice of you to join us. This nice young man wanted to take you to the movies. You said you knew him from school right?"

It made Alex freeze more, so Calli had said something to her aunt before she opened the door... Or she talked about him to her aunt before. Alex wanted to go with the first choice, it seemed less weird, even though the second choice was equally possible. First choice, definitely the first choice. Why would Calli ever talk about me? She doesn't even know me. Now I just have to decide whether or not to say anything or just leave. Leaving is rude, but saying something... Why should I? Might as well just go for it, maybe I'll end up taking Calli out even with the earlier 'NO.'

He turned his head to Calli's aunt and said "My name is Alex," his eyes glanced towards Calli, "hey Calli, how are you tonight?" I asked how she is... That seems like a good move... Maybe if she answers I'll get an inkling as to why I get this feeling about her. Probably not, but wishful thinking is better than no thinking."
