Sianas: Capitol City of Irisu

Humans: Humans are non-magical creatures. They live under the influence of their ancient gods. Humans tend to fight with Elves. They've been enemies for as long as the world has existed. The hatred runs so deep that no one really remembers the real reason for the fighting. Perhaps one day they will set aside their differences and get along. Humans tend to have short to medium length hair that is usually a dark color. Their eyes are usually blue or brown. Humans live to be 75-80 years old.

Elves : Elves are one of the two magical creatures that reside in Irisu. They are very in tune with all things that are nature. They serve under the influence of two gods. Loint the god of earth and Risnda the goddess of life. The Elves are a kind race unless provoked. They hate only the Humans. Their libraries are said to contain the reasons for the great hatred between the two races. The Elves live in far off forests that they've built their cities in. Elves are the same height as the Humans. Their hair tends to be long and flowing and a lighter color. Their eyes are grey or green. Elves are Immortal and can only die when in battle and mortally injured.

Dragons: Dragons are the oldest of the three races and are magical. They have the ability to shift into a elf like shape. Though they can blend in with the Elves it is still noticeable that they are different. Their ears are still pointed, but they have small pointed canines that are visible when they speak. Their eyes usually keep their natural color and their hair usually depends on their scales colors. Dragons revere no gods only their ancient ancestors. Dragons are fierce bests who tend to rule over the world. They live in the ancient stone cities of the Ialeos, a city built many long ages ago by the first Dragon King. Here, the dragons live under the rule of the royal family of Redscale. The only other city that was built by the Dragons is Sianas, which is located in the Lower Lands and is considered the capitol of the world. Dragons come in many different shapes, sizes and colors, but the one thing that they have in common is that the males all breathe fire and the females all breathe ice. Their eye color tends to usually be a red or silver. Dragons are Immortal and can only die if killed.

As with all races, there are always some variances in eye color or hair color.

Where this story will begin:

The Dragon King that rules over Sianas is called Yadaras. He is a large black Dragon that had large, sharp teeth and bright red eyes. He has sought for many long years to overthrow the Redscale Clan, the ruling family in Ialeos. He has succeeded in capturing the only heir to the thrown, Rihtarion, and killing off the entire royal family save for the Prince and his Mother. The young Prince has been thrown into the deepest dungeon that is located in Yadaras's castle and has been shown no mercy throughout his stay. Yadaras's daughter, the Princess, is the young Redscale's only hope. Will she choose to help him in breaking free from the evil king and returning home to reclaim what is his? Or will she choose to aid her father? Can love flourish where there is so much hate?

Sianas was always a place that Rihtarion had always tried to avoid, and with good reason. The city was not known for being kind to his family. Yadaras had always hated the royal family of Ialeos and anytime any of Rihtarion's family would visit the capitol, the ruler would barely acknowledge the other royals. The Prince had only been to the city once before and he'd not been impressed with the way things were handled there. The King of Sianas hadn't received any of his subjects to hear their pleas nor had he been overly kind with any of those that worked for him. That had been almost two-thousand years ago..before everything had gone so very wrong. Yadaras had at some point decided that he should not only rule Sianas but Ialeos as well. The crazed Dragon had at first attempted attacking the beautiful stone city to no avail. Rihtarion's father and their forces had protected the city well. Yadaras had been forced to withdraw. After his defeat, Yadaras had potted for some time, attempting to figure out a way to break the other King when he finally figured it out. The other King had a son. What would happen if the only heir to the throne was captured by the enemy? It was then that Yadaras sent his best warriors and trackers after the Prince. They searched for several years before they finally came across the handsome Prince. He'd been by himself in the Lower Lands..in a large forest far upon the edge of the world. He'd been there because his father had sent him to one of the outlying towns to speak with the Elves about trying to reconcile with the Humans nearby. It had been in the dark of night when Yadaras's men had ambushed Rihtarion. He'd not even had a chance to fight back.

That had been one-thousand years ago. Rihtarion was still Yadaras's captive and why he'd been kept alive this long was a mystery to him. He was being kept in the lowest dungeon in the palace. Currently, he was chained up by his wrists, his back pressing into the cold stone wall. The Prince felt as if his entire body was on fire. The two guards that watched him had just finished torturing him once again. He could feel wetness, his blood, running out of the various wounds that he now had. Even his aching wrists were beginning to bleed. He could no longer stand, but was almost hanging from the chains. Rihtarion's face was quite dirty and smeared with the blood that slowly ran from the wound upon his forehead. His face was emotionless, though, even through all of the pain. He would not allow his captures the enjoyment of seeing how broken he was truly feeling. His once silken black hair was now hanging partially in his face, dirtied and filled with dried blood that had never been cleaned out from previous tortures and beatings. He looked almost nothing like the proud Dragon that he once was. His golden eyes were closed, concentrating on healing himself. The Prince had discovered over the past one-thousand years that if he concentrated his healing would speed up. There was really no point in trying to heal, though. He'd been informed that Yadaras would be coming down that day and that meant more torture.

Rihtarion at first had not understood why the crazed Dragon had him captured and brought to Sianas. It had made no sense to him. He'd done nothing to wrong the King or his people so what reason did he have to torture the Prince? It wasn't until twenty years later when the King had finally informed the Prince of the reason. He was purely leverage. Rihtarion's family could do nothing to Yadaras if he had the Prince. Even now, Rihtarion wondered how keeping him was benefiting the King. He was sure that his family had attempted to rescue him. They would never leave their own blood in such a horrible place. Why hadn't Yadaras accepted any of the terms? Rihtarion would never know.

As he hung against the freezing wall, Rihtarion sighed softly. He could feel his ragged body slowly pulling itself back together, though the pain was excruciating. His breathing was slightly labored and he didn't even move when the dungeon door slowly opened. He kept his head down, wishing against all odds that the King had decided against coming down to bother with him that day. Three days earlier, when Yadaras had visited him, he'd been informed of his family's death. They'd all been slaughtered in the night. He'd been furious at first, swearing at the mad Dragon, but over the past few days that anger had slowly turned to a deep sadness that felt like it was seeded into his heart. He'd tried so had not to cry and had failed miserably. He felt as if everything had been ripped from him. He felt that now, he would forever be Yadaras's captive. There was no one fighting for him now. What he didn't know, nor did Yadaras, was that his mother had escaped the slaughter. Rihtarion could hear the voice of the King as he mocked him. He did not move or speak, only allowed the insults to continue towards him. The men laughing didn't even bother him anymore. All of this he was used to, though not reacting would only cause him pain. The King noticed Rihtarion's lack of reaction. The man slowly walked towards the saddened Prince. Kneeling down so that he could eye the boy, Yadaras leaned in close. "What is this? No fight left in you? Surely this can not be." he said mockingly. The King was smiling evilly. He was pleased that the Prince at long last seemed to have given up. "You are pathetic. Nothing in this world. Why your family is held above mine is a mystery. It is better off this way, boy. Better that your family is gone from this world." The King then roughly grabbed hold of Rihtarion's chin, forcing the younger Dragon to look up at Yadaras. The Prince opened his still bright golden eyes, hate flowing freely from them. "You will suffer." the King said, almost too low for anyone outside of the room to hear. He smiled evilly, laughing.

It was then that the Prince sensed a knew presence in the room, though he could not see the newcomer. The King released Rihtarion and turned to speak with the new being. Once he was released, Rihtarion's head dropped back down. He just had no energy to keep his head up. He remained silent, listening to what was being said. "Ah! Daughter! Glad am I that you have decided to join us. It is high past time for you to meet our guest." Yadaras said, motioning towards the hanging Prince. He'd not given the Princess a choice in coming down. He'd decided that she was old enough to see what happened to those that opposed them. He moved out of the way, allowing the girl full view of the ragged Dragon. Yadaras stood back and allowed the guards to approach the chained Dragon. "You will see what we do to those that dare stand against us." the King said. The first guard, a plump Dragon, pulled out a long knife while the other, a thin and ancient Dragon, held Rihtarion's head by his hair. Pain seared throughout the Prince's head. The Dragon holding him wasn't being kind, making sure that his hair was pulled very tight. The plump guard placed the knife at Rihtarion's throat, smiling. He waited a moment before moving in to a spot just behind the Prince's ear. He then allowed the sharp instrument to slid from its resting spot to the Dragon's slender neck, just above where his chest started. Rihtarion didn't allow himself much reaction, though his eyes had opened during the action. Pain shone through his eyes. The King smirked and turned to his daughter. He watched for her reaction.

The guard once again approached the Prince. This time, he placed the point of the knife against Rihtarion's side. The guard turned to Yadaras for a signal of continuing. Once he'd received the nod, he plunged the knife into the Dragon Prince's side. This time, Rihtarion did react. He jerked violently, trying to get away from the instrument. The guard that had been standing behind him, holding his head, made sure to allow almost no room for the prince to move. The sound of Rihtarion's now ragged breathing filled the cold room. He was trying to breathe through his nose, hoping that the action would allow him not to make any noise. Apparently, the guard noticed this. The plump guard quickly began to slowly twist the still embedded knife towards the left. Rihtarion could no longer remain quiet. The sound of his pain filled cries filled the room. The men were all laughing at his expense, though Rihtarion wasn't even thinking about that. All he wanted was to get free of the object that was embedded in his side. He knew only too well that would not happen anytime soon. As he cried out in pain, a thought crossed his mind. What did the girl, the King's daughter, think of what she was being forced to see? Did she take pleasure in his pain? It mattered little. Either way, Rihtarion did not see himself ever being free again. He heard the King speaking once again. "To think that he is a Prince. Evelyn, can you see this creature as ever ruling? The thought makes me laugh." Laugh he did. Rihtarion was still struggling and crying out. He couldn't even fathom what they would do next. He only hoped that it would end soon.

Watery sunlight filtered through the open window, bathing the bright green plants on the windowsill in its warm glow. The scene of the room was one that should have been a painting: a circular room with puzzled-pieced stone blocks acting as walls, every inch of space save for a four-post mahogany bed in the upper right corner of the room with a matching wardrobe in the lower left) was occupied by plants of all varieties. By the windowsill that was fulfilling its duty to provide a protective casting glow on new growth, a young petite woman was lightly showering the buds with sparkling water. Her features were fine, delicate, inhumanely perfect in every which way, her eyes seemed to be made of dusk itself; an unobtainable dark blue that was far out of reach for any human. However as dark as her eyes may be, the knee-length hair this particular woman possessed as just as exotic: a silvery-blue that one could only describe as other-wordly. With the luminous skin, feminine body, and pointed ears, there was no doubt: this was Princess Evelyn Fiamatta Lyra Alice Cordelia vi Sianas, heiress to the throne of Sinas.

A small, content sigh escapes the elfin girl's lips as she busies herself with tending to the new growth. Due to her Affinity for nature, every time Evelyn was taking care of her plants, a warm glow seem to erupt from her insides to shine through her bright smile and sparkling eyes. "Mistress.. his Majesty requests your presence in the dungeons.. He claims his calling upon you it quite urgent, M'lady." floated in the voice a timid servant with words of condemnation. Almost immediately upon hearing the word "his Majesty", her smiles fades and that warm feeling is quick to flee. Setting the watering can down in resignation, Evelyn ensures to steel over her voice "Alright." While closing her eyes, the girl floods her lungs with a deep breath before opening her eyes while exhaling and turning on her heels. Brushing past the servant, the elf begun to walk down the dim hallway, her shoes making very light clicking noises.

Princess Evelyn Fiamatta Lyra Alice Cordelia vi Sianas, heiress to the throne of Sinas. Thats right. Your curse. The curse of being caged. came her depressing thoughts as the doll-like female walked down the stairs as lady-like as possible, eyes glinting in the cold glow of the torches. Keeping her head up in a dignified manner, Evelyn tried her best to repress a shudder as the air engulfing her became colder and colder as she descended into what was surely Hell.

As soon as she reached the last step, Evelyn tried to brush away the grim thoughts of death and misfortunate events that have occurred her lifetime to replace them with false happy ones. Now all the girl could do was pray that a smile or something similar in nature, would be able to emerge in the presence of the man she hates: Her father. Without even pausing for the door-keep to open the wooden gate fully, Evelyn slipped inside.

Standing on the platform, she allowed for her eyes to adjust to the sudden darkness. Even in the inky darkness, the girl could make out the room which had caused for her nose to wrinkle in disgust at the grime. Before she could even take one step down the stairs, a pause in her body occurred due to the stench of metallic crimson flooding her senses. A hand flies to her mouth to prevent herself from vomiting at the smell, and shakily, she began to regain her composure. Hurrying down the stairs, the sight of her father and a torture master came into view. Both loomed over something or someone and it felt as if something in Evelyn's stomach started to gnaw at the lining at the low-spoken words from her father "You will suffer.". What is going on here..? she wondered in anxious curiosity before stepping into the light, a smile not upping on her frown. "Father...What is going on here?" came her velvety words, spoken in the softest, lady-like manner possible. Just like her father wanted her to act. As the King moved out of the way to reveal the ragged man, Evelyn's eyes widen in a mix between horror, curiosity and disgust directed towards her father. Tearing her eyes away from the body, she demanded, her voice slightly appalled "Father! What is the meaning of this!?" Spinning her body to face the torture master, her eyes widen slightly seeing the knife trail down the man's neck, and while she was suppose to be horrified, felt intrigued as her eyes trained on the line of blood welling up from the sliced skin. Such a beautiful color.. came her thoughts which soon caused her to shudder in repulsive disgust as she realized what she was seeing.

Quickly, her trance was broken through the connection of their eyes. Gold met Blue for a few seconds, Princess met Prisoner. It was as if a light switch was flipped on inside her; a new fiery want to protect this man flooded her being. Turning her body away from bloody yet devilishly handsome being, she began to confront her father "Father. What do you intend to solve by torturing him?! Haven't you been preaching to me all these years about how a ruler should care and value his subjects?! You are break- her words were cut off by the sudden ragged breathing that flooded the small space. Turning her head, in surprise, the new sight of the man shocked her beyond belief. The knife was buried in his side, blood already seeping around the intrusion of the foreign object, the dungeon master ensuring no space for his captive to escape. It was as if her body suddenly went cold, being torn from reality. In a fluid motion, Evelyn raises her hand to land a blow on her father, the King. A loud and sharp noise fills the small room as Evelyn makes her hand pause in mid-air, her father's head snapped to the side from the blow. Already, a bright red mark was appearing on his cheek. Her words come out icy, constrained, her eyes glowing with hate "Father! I demand for you let this man go!"

Yadaras had not expected his child to hit him. He held his head to the side, where he'd stopped after being hit. He remained there for a few moments that seemed to drag on. Rihtarion was watching the interaction closely. He could see easily that the King was furious. The dungeon master had finally pulled his knife out of the Dragon Prince to turn and watch what was happening. The guard that had been holding onto his head remained doing just that which allowed Rihtarion the ability to watch without punishment. Yadaras ever so slowly turned to regard the Princess, fury and rage shining in his eyes. "Evelyn..this man is no subject of ours. He is a threat to our people. The enemy. We captured him one-thousand years ago and he has been here ever since. He is the son of Niron, the former King of Ialeos. He is what is preventing us from taking the Ancients' Throne. I will not let him go and you will remember your place, girl." The King said. He watched his daughter closely for her reaction. He would not let the sad looking Dragon go. He cared little if his daughter thought that the man didn't deserve the things that had happened to him during the past one-thousand years. He would never let go of his leverage. The King motioned for the guard that had been holding up the prisoner. The Dragon made his way over to his King. "You will take my daughter back to her rooms. It's obvious that she isn't old enough for this yet." the King said. He turned to look at the Princess again before she was taken back up to her rooms. "Daughter, I shall be up later to speak with you of your actions. I expect you to be there."

Rihtarion had watched the exchange closely. The King had at some point moved closer to the Prince. He was crouching in front of him, staring at the almost hanging Prince. "Evelyn, when I rule upon the Ancients' Throne..you will rule here in my place. You need to learn the ways of the world." he said more kindly than before. He turned his eyes back to his daughter but remained close to the younger male Dragon. Suddenly, as the King was focus on his daughter, Rihtarion moved quickly. He jolted forward, striking the mad Dragon in the head with his own, causing the King to fall backwards. Yadaras slowly sat back up after a moment, glaring at the Prince. "You will never sit upon the Ancients' Throne as long as there is life still in me." Rihtarion said in his heavily accented voice. There had never been any noticeable difference between the Dragons of Ialeos and the Dragons of Sianas. The only thing that truly separated them was their language. Those from Ialeos always had a heavy accent whereas those from Sianas had very little. Many had speculated that this was because those in Sianas lived in the Lower Lands with the other races of the world.

"You will pay for that, boy." the King said as he got up off of the dirty ground. He rubbed his forehead where Rihtarion had headbutted him. The King signaled for the guard to lead his daughter out of the room. Rihtarion watched the Princess closely with his golden eyes. He was still surprised that the young Dragon had tried to get her father to set him free. He allowed his gaze to linger on the beautiful Dragon as the guard gently tried to lead her away from the horror that was about to take place. The King watched as his daughter was being slowly forced out of the room. He couldn't believe that the boy had dared strike him. He'd not thought that Rihtarion had enough energy for that. Damn that Dragon and his ability to heal so quickly. That had to be the only reason that he'd been able to strike him so hard.

Evelyn froze briefly as she realized what she had done, the sharp sound flooding the small room. From the slight sting on her palm and the way her father's head had snapped back, a red print already forming, she knew she had used a tad bit more force than intended. "don't let him see your hesitation.." the princess chided herself, mustering all the hate she could to mask the brief flash of regret. Evelyn's blood soon ran cold seeing her father slowly turn towards her, rage glinting in his eyes. The words he spoke were dripping with the contempt and astonishment "Evelyn..this man is no subject of ours. He is a threat to our people. The enemy. We captured him one-thousand years ago and he has been here ever since. He is the son of Niron, the former King of Ialeos. He is what is preventing us from taking the Ancients' Throne. I will not let him go and you will remember your place, girl"

Suddenly, all of the regret she had felt for her violent actions had melted away at the unsettling words that flowed from this vile man and was instead replaced with a strong urge to lash out at him. Her tone took on the steely quality that she was famous for, the tone where every word cut like a knife "A king, no, a MAN, as repulsive as yourself has no right to rule!" In the corner of her silvery eye, the Princess could see the Dungeon Master flinch at her words for, even the man hardened by such displays of cruelty, was shuddering in anxiety and fear at Evelyn's very words and voice. The Dragon princess's eyes glinted a brilliant shade of icy blue in the casted glow of the torches as she watched for her father's reaction. "You will take my daughter back to her rooms. It's obvious that she isn't old enough for this yet.", that very line made Evelyn's fist ball up tightly in anger at his dismissal of her. Turning on her heels with astonishing grace, one cold glare tossed at the approaching man's way was enough to make him linger behind her.

Walking up the stairs, holding her chin up in a dignified manner, Evelyn allowed for a slight pause "Evelyn, when I rule upon the Ancients' Throne..you will rule here in my place. You need to learn the ways of the world." Casting her father a side glance, she mutters softly but still loud enough for him to hear "I refuse to rule under a disgraced throne." before gliding out the dungeon door.
