Kadriyan is a extremely headstrong and independent girl shaped undoubtedly by the grit and strength of her hometown, New York City. Being raised by her Egyptian father and Moroccan mother Kardiyan didn't have much wiggle room when it came to being the model child and student. She is first generation American in her family and her parents never let her forget it. As a child Kadri hated this, and all the pressure that came with making her parents sacrifices to come the United States worth it somehow but it's apparent that their strict parenting molded her into a hard worker who will never settle for anything less that perfection, but always in her own image and imagination of what perfection entails. Although Kardiyan is hardworking and is steadfast when it comes to her goals and desires she's not the kind of girl you'll find years down the line driving an average car, in a green and leafy and awfully quiet suburban neighborhood, with a uninteresting husband, ailing rescue dog, rambunctious children and a white picket fence. All throughout Kadriyan's personality runs her undeniable grit and one of a kind approach to life. After becoming interested in social and political activism in college Kadri became a increasingly unconventional radical thinker and she wasn't ever the type to passively post her views to social media but ignore real adversity surrounding her life. From that alternative route of thinking and the eye opening experiences from being an activist Kadri derives power from her convictions and her unique, hand tailored way of life that she wouldn't have any other way.

☆ Kadri is always pulling at her coils simply because she loves to see them spring back into place, she worked for years to turn her dry, brittle heat damaged hair into what she has now and because of that it's her most prized possession. Kadriyan also smokes out of habit more often than she'd like seeing as she's trying to quit cigarettes completely.

xxxīŧ¨īŧŠīŧŗīŧ´īŧ¯īŧ˛īŧšâœ—

Kadriyan lived in downtown Manhattan with her parents until she was 18 years old. After high school Kadriyan attended City College in Harlem and dormed on campus for all five semesters that she was there. Having only completed 2 years of school Kadri got her BA in theater much to her parents dismay, they always expected their Daughter to be something more prestigious, but she never wanted prestige, she wanted novelty and spontaneity. So after leaving school at 20 years old Kadriyan moved into her own apartment and started dancing in all types of exotic clubs in New York to be able to rub two nickles together. The places she started off were rough and grungy, and the women who worked their were either stuck or held themselves to a low standard, she knew she didn't want to continue in a place like that so that was a part of her reason for moving out of New York. Her second and main reason for leaving and moving to Seattle was to escape her parents and the strict dream they had for her, she knew that she could never be happy if she lived her life with them in close proximity, she loved them but needed them as far away as possible to live her truth. Now Kadri wants nothing more than to find her balance between independent adult and the wild child that she has always been at heart and as of late, in practice. Now that she's in Seattle she's working a more upstanding Burlesque dance club where she goes by Kinky Luxure or just Kinky to her coworkers. She loves the job she does, but she knows it won't be enough to pay the bills forever especially since is pricier than the average gentlemens club her tips can fluctuate a lot because Silhouette doesn't rack up as much clientele these days.

            Date: July 4, 2016

            Time: 7:14 P.M. Doors open at 8:00 P.M.

Occasion: Who doesn't love a good party? Especially the youths of the city. They're still young, they're allowed to have their fun. One might even say it's almost their duty to do so. Y'know, before life takes a hold with sharp talons and soul-sucking grip. They don't have forever to live. They might as well enjoy the time they've got. Genesis Carter, resident of the infamous apartment building on the corner of Pike's Place and Turnstone, seems to embrace this philosophy. At least, that's what one can assume given the massive rager she's arranged to have held for the fourth of July. What better opportunity to throw a great party? She's pulled out all the stops. Arranged entertainment for the event is local singer Malcolm Lewis, another resident of the apartment building. Plenty of people are invited to attend, and everyone in Seattle knows that when word gets out, more people than the ones initially invited manage to find their way into the party. But who cares, right? Everyone's just out to have a good time. Of course, all the residents of the host's apartment building are invited to attend, so shall we see what the night holds for them?

Location: The old warehouse down in the Station District. It's been a pretty popular location for parties recently.

-------------------------------------------------------
Location: The Loft âĻž Outfit âĻž Mood: Excited & Nervous âĻž

-------------------------------------------------------

ImageBeing one of the newest tenants of the lofts Kadriyan was feeling excited and embracing the hint of giddy nervousness that made its was from nape of her neck, all the way down to her toes at the thought of meeting the people she'd be living under. This was her first chance to really make a good impression on her neighbors who she had never had the chance of formally meeting due to her awkward work hours and constant vacancy from the apartment as she finalized all the shopping that needed to be done to make the apartment into a practical home. She'd lived on her own before but always with friends and was able to borrow absolutely anything she needed, but now that she was living with a stranger she noticed how much you take for granted having things like an iron and ironing board or even something as random as oven mitts.

Humming loudly to her playlist of Billboard Top 100 hits on her Spotify account Kadri teased at the soft spirals that bounced every which was the bass jumped causing her almost involuntarily to rock and sway to the tempo. She looked herself over making sure she came across as just the right amount of sexy, without looking scandalous. She'd save that side of her for her customers. Nodding her head approvingly at her ensemble for the 4th of July Bash at the Warehouse, Kadri unearthed her Galaxy S7 from her pocket book and shot a quick text message to her flatmate, Macy. Macy and Kadri weren't very close at all, but she thought it might be nice to offer to arrive to the party together. The number one necessity for living with a roommate according to Kadri would always be: a wary attitude and the occasional pleasantry.

Message to Macy Vandover
&&&&&&&Hey girl, I dunno if you're in or around the loft still, but I'm heading to the party @ the warehouse in a bit, wanted to know if you wanted to head over together... hmu when you see this, ttyl.
&&&]
After hitting send the brunette made her way to the refrigerator and popped out a few beers, she typically pregamed before any event she went to whether there would be alcohol or not, it was a bad habit she picked up as in college before investing in her trusty fake ID during her final year, but on the bright side it always saved her a ton of cash by avoiding steep bar prices and saved her precious time by giving underage Kadri the luxury of not having to flirt and batt her eyes at the guys in the bar to score a free drink.

This was not going well. Lloyd stood in the center of the room, watching the environment slowly slip out of his favor. This is precisely why he despised being late.

Everything began to falter as soon as the door opened. He was originally greeted by the smiling figure of a slightly scantily dressed dark-haired woman he could only assume to be Genesis Carter. She greeted him, turned to offer him the variety of alcoholic beverages and a choice of the selection of food. But he wasn't listening. Not anymore. As soon as the door opened, he spotted someone he dreaded to see. Malcom Lewis, the resident dreamer and the local halfwit. It occurred to him he might show, everyone in Genesis' apartment building had been invited, Malcom included. She probably had invited him over for his musical 'talents'.

"Great, only seconds in, and we're already promising a headache." He thought.

Even as he tried to ignore the unwelcome intrusion, another figure emerged from the now-open door behind him. Luca. Luca walked straight up to Malcom, and before anyone knew it, Malcom was dragging the newest arrival away towards the backstage entrance. Something was very clearly going on between them, the only question remained as to what, but for now it didn't concern him. Now it was back to being an empty room with nothing more than him and Genesis, who was fluttering about, adding slight last-minute adjustments to everything.

Regaining his composure, he walked over towards the alcohol table, grabbing a short glass. He quickly scanned through the drink selection, his eyes landing on a particular drink in the back. "Bell's Premium Blended Scotch?"

While the drink wasn't the most expensive, it certainly was high class, and it was a surprise she had brought one to the party. He quickly pulled the drink from it's place and poured it into his glass. He wasted little time with ice before lightly taking a sip. It was indeed real. The onset of this information left him honestly surprised and as he turned towards his hostess, only to stop dead in his tracks.

Two new arrivals had just moseyed in, shouting their greetings to the generous hostess. He recognized them both. They lived in his apartment building, and had seen them come and go, but as he was one of the newer additions to the building, he hadn't yet found the time, nor the need to go and meet with them. But, then once again, someone new walked into the fray. Another woman walked into the warehouse, giving an excited greeting to the increasingly excited Genesis. And, with a quick glance at his watch and a quicker glance at the wide open doors, new arrivals would be walking nearly every second until dawn.

Lloyd sighed, looked down at his drink, and tipped it back.

It took a moment for the burning sensation that was scotch to coarse through his system, but once the fire-water had passed, he poured himself another drink, forced another smile to his lips, and walked into the crowd, faking as much jubilance as he could.

"Yes, happy Fourth of July!"
He turned looking excitedly from one face to the next, "Parker and Matthias, right?" He stopped at the newest arrival, "And I don't believe we've met before."

"And finally, our gracious host!" He turned towards Genesis. "Genesis was it?"

Genesis finished all the finishing touches. Everything was perfect and she did not think she could do any better. Once Mal was done warming up, they would all have entertainment. Of course she also had back up for whenever he was grew tired of being the only musician playing. It was just a Spotify mix, nothing special. The reason why Malcolm was the only paid entertainment was because she did not want him battling with some other musician. The whole point of this was to make sure everyone else knew how good he was. This was getting his name out. By the end of the night, everyone will be dying to show up to one of his gigs.

Genesis will have to remind him not to forget about her once he becomes big and famous. Another glass of champagne and the brunette was finally starting to feel warm. Eventually she will move to something stronger. Sipping it, she walked around watching more people waltzed through the doors. Luca had arrived and went straight for the alcohol and then with Mal backstage. No doubt he was here to make sure that Mal did not get so nervous and run away. Gen had no problems with Luca. They were not the best of friends but they were friendly due to their mutual friend. "Hey, babe!” Genesis turned around and returned the hug given to her by one of her close friends Parker who was followed by her other close friend Matthias. She had received messages from them earlier letting her know they were on their way. She was glad for the reassurance. Gen would not let them hear the end of it if they hadn’t shown up. They had a habit of forgetting which is why she texted them reminders about it. ”Thanks. Do you know how hard it was to find food that tasted almost half as good as yours Matty?” She teased. It did take a lot of work though. He was amazing at cooking so she could not just pick anything.

"Hey guys, Happy 4th of July!" The voice came from Kadri. Another one of Genesis’ friends. She is super sweet and like Gen, likes to drink. Another compliment was made her way about the party and the brunette giggled a tad in response. ”I don’t think I could do this all the time. This was stressful enough.” She responded, with a smile still on her face. She took another sip from her drink when Lloyd approached the small group that was forming. "And finally, our gracious host!" It was official. She was done taking compliments from everyone. It was not that big of a deal. If they knew who she was connected to then they would not be so surprised by how well this turned out. ”Yeah. And you pointed out Parker and Matthias. And that pretty girl right there is Kadri.” Gen said with a smile. ”You all better eat all the food and drink all of the alcohol.” She warned them all. Then she remembered that Genesis needed to make sure that Mal would perform. She quickly pulled out her phone.
;Mal
Not to rush your warm up, love. But there is a crowd waiting to hear your voice. Break a leg!

ImageKadri surveyed the bunch as they quickly sang their replies, they all seemed decent enough in their own right and she was curious to see how things would change as the year marched on and as the anti was inevitably upped. It was sure to be interesting, that was a given, but she hoped that regardless of all the drama and squabbles that Seattle would become a safe space for her, New York wasn't what she wanted anymore.

After mulling through her rather introspective thoughts, she was jarred back to reality by another one of the tenants merging into their little powwow. He stood at all of 5'8 inches with platinum blonde hair, a piercing blue eyed gaze and a deathly serious grimace turned ebullient smile. Kadri readjusted her purse squarely on her shoulder whilst she gave him a subtle appraising glance.
He looks like someone or something familiar... she thought, almost giggly at the revelation, but quickly turning her brewing chuckle into a curt smile as the conversation buzzed along.
An elf, that's got to be it! She mused, but immediately she one upped her own accusation. Or maybe an imp is more fitting with that perfectly executed "tortured by humanity" face he had on before putting on a good face and waltzing over here. Hearing her name role cheerily from Genesis' mouth Kadriyan shook off her inner monologue for a spell in favor or conversing with the people around her. She breathed a quick and polite Hello to the blonde before addressing him directly.

"I don't think we've ever met before this, what's your name? I'm Kadriyan as Genesis kindly introduced, I live on the first floor of the building with Macy Vandover if you're familiar with her." She wondered if she should've specified which floor she lived on to a man she clearly had reservations about, but shook the worry when she thought about how accessible it was to find out where everyone lived in a such an exclusive little apartment. As the question left her lips the muted sounds of instruments humming and a microphones feedback rang into the mood, immediately creating an exciting buzz, the festivities were soon to be under way with Mal as the headliner for the night. Kadri quitely cursed herself, for forgetting that she was supposed to get the gift to Mal BEFORE he was to perform, but now was a little too late for that. Disappointingly she decided that she'd give it to him after his performance, and immediately mask the shame with some hard liquor.

âœŋOUTFIT:X âœŋLOCATION:Party âœŋHEX:#004D00

ImageRosaline 's room was a tornado of clothing and chaos as she quickly tried to throw together one of her many messy, multicolored ensables. A pair of tights, a nice skirt and some bright orange platforms later and she was dressed for the night. Unfortunately for her she had fallen asleep and naps always mean losing half a day when it comes to her.
She did her makeup quickly, minimally and efficiently and topped off her red head with a pretty flower crown because why not?The more colorful, the more loud, the better. She knew that her roommate, Lloyd had probably already left for the party because he was a meanie that never thought to include her. That was fine though, he knew he'd hear about it later.
Rosaline chuckled as she sent a quick text to him:

"I hope you know how much of a butthole you are for not waking me XP"

She ran out as fast as she could out the door and to the elevator that would take her all the way down to the first floor and onto the street where her bug was waiting for her. She hopped in and drove the short distance to the warehouse where the party would be held and she smiled at the old building. Old things were her favorite.
As she climbed out of the vehicle she stretched her hands and popped her knuckles. Playing the piano as often as she did is pretty hard on the joints and she's had her fair share of cramps. She walked up to the stairs to the floor the party was on and shook out the last of her cramps, they wouldn't bother her tonight. Rosaline didn't take very many opportunities to socialize with her fellow tennants, as she really valued personal time, but when she did she made sure to live it up. She ran up the stairs as quickly as possible as the mantra "latelatelatelatelatelatelatelate" punctuated every step. She finally reached the door and took a deep breath, making sure to straighten her flower crown, and threw open the door. Immediately her eagle eyes settled on the small group in the center and the many people mulling about, all waiting on Mal to rock the stage. She pulled out her phone before moving as sent him a quick text:
"Good Luck sweetie! You'll do great!<3"

She put her phone in her purse and walked up behind Lloyd and leaned her head over his shoulder, "MMMMMHMMMMM"
She laughed and walked around him and smiled to him and everyone,
"Evening everyone! It's a pretty day for a party huh?"

Warehouse Party
Dusk

══════════════════════
The party had finally began to kick up in earnest, a few more random guests had slowly trickled in outside of their group, and Malcom's 'performance' had already threatened to start soon. Lloyd was getting tired of the charade already, as he could visibly see Genesis begin to slowly close herself off from the group, not really standing with them, so much as standing by them. The woman he had addressed earlier was introduced as Kadriyan, apparently another one of the few from his apartment building. He smiled and thanked them both graciously.

She casually mentioned she lived Macy Vandover down on the first floor. The name sounded familiar, perhaps mentioned in passing by another one of the few acquaintances he'd made so far. He was about to reply when a bright pale face with orange hair leaned in over his shoulder. For a brief moment, the smile faded, but he quickly replaced it as he breathed.

His housemate, Rosaline had finally arrived. He was right in his assumption she'd make it fine, but in truth, he hadn't exactly given her much leeway when it came to time. He had just picked up the invite from it's place on the counter, and walked out of the room, leaving her dozing off in her room. She always tended to sleep for much of a day, and waking her wasn't an option, so with no promise of her waking soon, he rushed off, hoping to arrive before things started.

Rose's intrusion into the conversation gave Lloyd a chance to look around, taking note of the other guests. The trickle of people had turned into a flood, and now many more people than just the occupants of their shabby little apartment building had filled the room, some holding drinks, others holding small plates of food. It all looked rather amazing, all of it being fully organized by a single person. Lloyd looked down at his drink, realizing some likely just came for the free alcohol and entertainment. A final glace at the door showed the sun falling ever closer to the horizon, as the golden light had dimmed considerably. It wouldn't be too long now.

All that Lloyd needed to try and find some way to strike up a conversation with his hostess, maybe establish himself as a friend. He doubted he would learn much about her tonight, but asking a few general questions, as the curious friend, might lend him some kind of information. If only he could keep Rose from dissuading him too much.

Taking another sip of his drink, he shot Rose a slight warning glance. He only hoped she would keep her nose clean, and try and not tell everyone his truer intentions. Refreshing his smile, he looked back over towards Genesis. "You have an incredibly fine selection of drinks, Ms Carter. How did you manage to get your hands on any of this?"

He sounded happy, almost forced. He needed to reel it in, and seem genuine. However, before he could get a reply, a dull hum and a static feedback from a recently turned on microphone rang throughout the room. Everyone turned their attention to the stage, and hid his irritation, turning with them. Malcom's performance was about to begin, and everyone in the room knew it. Lloyd sighed, and finished his drink, quietly excusing himself back to the alcohol table. At this rate, he'd be wasted before the night was over.

Matthias couldn’t help but be distracted, even as more and more people joined the small group surrounding the host. All of a sudden, a wave of tension washed over him; he seemed to recall why exactly it was he disliked attending parties of any sort. Even among people he knew relatively well, he still felt mildly uncomfortable, and he knew it’d be particularly awful when he was surrounded by strangers.

Before the influx of people, there was a wisecrack from Genesis. A comment about his general cooking skill, and likely also about his general snobbiness towards others’ food. He laughed, a genuine laugh, and opened his mouth to reply, but never got the chance as someone came in with a loud greeting.

First came the curly-haired girl from the first floor. He knew her by her gait, always impressed with her casual ease and elegance in basic movement. But they’d rarely spoken, and the most Matt did was offer a small smile at her appearance.

Then it was the latest addition to their hodge-podge of tenants. From overheard conversations, Matt had picked out his name to be Lloyd, but he knew nothing about the man beyond that. They’d never spoken, and to be perfectly honest, it was no accident. His presence left Matt with an unsettling feeling deep within his stomach, and Matt tended to listen to his gut instinct. It had rarely steered him wrong, and as always, his motto steered heavily in the direction of “better safe than sorry.” He merely nodded when Lloyd greeted him by name and Genesis confirmed it, though Parker had no reservations when it came to him. She dealt with him as she did with any unknown people— with a smile and a peppy greeting. He frowned. He always tried to get her to proceed with a little more caution, at the very least, but his lessons rarely held any weight. She continued on her path, striking up conversation where she went, regardless of location or person.

More casual conversation ensued, to which Matt wasn’t particularly tuned into. Still, he couldn’t help the frequent glances over his shoulder; the habit was hardwired into him, always wary of crowds and any large swaths of people. He knew he’d make his way to the back wall when Mal began his set, despite the fact that he had been told by the boy that he’d be looking for him in the front row. It was something that simply couldn’t be helped.

A bright head of red hair appeared, adding to Matt’s ever increasing discomfort. He’d never had the chance to get to know her too well either, but he didn’t lament the fact. She came off a child to him, someone difficult to deal with. He had plenty of those sorts in his life already.

Time passed faster than he had expected, and then the lights were dimming. He checked his wristwatch. Eight fifteen. Damn. He wanted to get to a wall before the crowd concentrated and made it difficult to maneuver through the throngs of people, so he leaned forward and lightly ruffled Gen’s hair, his silent method of saying he’d be leaving their small group, and clapped Parker on the shoulder. With a curt nod to the rest of the people around him, he slid off into the general darkness of the warehouse. He’d find his way back to Gen and Parker later, after Mal’s set was over and done with, but he knew he’d hate the experience of being part of a bouncing audience. There’d still be plenty of time for socialization after the set, the party was bound to go on into the early hours of the morning, and Mal wouldn’t be on nearly that long. No, with his back against a surface, he was content enough to wait the hour it would take to listen to the concert. And it helped that he was sure he’d enjoy the boy’s singing as well.

ImageKadri watched curiously as the the group slowly began to dissolve into the sea of unfamiliar faces of the other attendees of the 4th of July extravaganza. Matthias retreated to a far corner of the warehouse, seeming almost guard-like as he stood there taking a passive play at experiencing the party. Being the lone wolf wasn't ever really Kadriyan's style, she was always filling her work free time with interesting people and wild shenanigans just for the sheer art of disaster and spontaneity, but she could definitely respect his discipline. If there was nothing else Matthias could provide as a benefit of his companionship, Kadri duly noted that his observant nature and overall temperance was still a virtue worth it's weight in gold.

Llyod on the other hand, who's collected persona rivaled Matthias' own in its own ways made his way to the bar with the intent of a heat seeking missile trained on a crowd of warm bodies. Noted. She thought, not really passing harsh judgement, but making a sharp observation. As the saying goes he who cast the first stone, blah... blah.. blah.. Kadri has always been a hard drinker, even in her more studious and straight-and-narrow high school and college days. Any chance she got to unwind and knock back a drink she took full liberty in her God given right to get shit faced and deal with hungover Kadri in the morning... Well, maybe God-given wasn't the right choice of words for a girl who grew up with a holy book strictly condemning alcohol, but someone's sacred book out there probably celebrated the stuff and that possibility was enough for her to leave the worries in the bottom of each bottle. Keeping her eyes on Llyod a half beat longer she felt a small burst of accomplishment rush over her, even though it was for something so silly. She smirked knowing now with the utmost certainty that there was something utterly off about her neighbor, and more than just an affinity for control. Drinkers are always the same. Yeah, that first shot may be for the hell of it, to let loose, to have fun, but the last drink of the night always tastes poignantly desperate and like the bitters of whatever you're chasing or conversely what's chasing you. Removing her gaze from the boy and refocusing on the lot that stood before her made up of Genesis, Parker and Rose she smiled politely.

"I hope you ladies don't mind if I step away for a sec to help myself to a drink. You're all welcome to come of course, I'll even mix something special for everyone if you think you can handle it. I'm always happy to introduce friends to some interesting liquor, it's always more fun to get drunk in style." She said with a chuckle and raised eyebrows hoping the girls would join her in traversing the dangerously slippery slope that was alcohol masked almost completely by the taste of syrups and fruit juices. Over the years Kadri found that maintaining a light buzz with mixed drinks always seemed to be possible in the beginning but without fail five minutes in you're wondering how the it all crept up on you so fast. By the end of the set Kadri intended to be thoroughly blown away and completely carefree enough to party until the wee morning hours regardless of her early morning rehearsal for work the following day. Hearing the instrumentals carry through out the space that would be greeted by Mal's voice any second she awaited their replies.

ImageKadri watched as Genesis and Parker, hand in hand made there was across the floor and over to the corner where Matthias stood for the length of Mal's performance taking in what everyone expected to be an absolutely breathtaking display. Kadri was more enthralled by Mal than she even imagined she would be, and was surely not disappointed. She made note to speak to him about buying a CD to keep in her apartment to prance around to on her days off and lazy Saturday mornings. He was talented, and that was without a doubt.

Redirecting herself from the stage and to the dance floor he she noticed before her now stood only Rose who she wasn't very familiar with but would be happy to drink with if the offer enticed her. However greeted by the thumping bass line of One Dance by Drake blaring throughout the warehouse and the look on Rose's face the springy haired brunette could tell her request had been lost in the cacophony of sounds around them so she smiled politely at the girl and gestured to the bar before mumbling a quick adieu and finally headed on her merry way to get up to no good all by her lonesome. With giddy anticipation Kadriyan too a look at the selection whilst raising her eyebrow, instantly accepting the challenge of the wide spread. Kadri reached for the clear plastic cup at the end of the table and filled it with a bit of ice, just enough to cover the bottom. She hated nothing more than watered down alcohol, but in this heat pouring a drink without ice wasn't an enticing option.

Scanning the table like a spy would scan the crowd for his target Kadri set her sights on the Russian Standard vodka lined up next to other more notable but less potent brands, next she spoted the Kahlua and lastly garnered the Irish cream. Kadriyan poured 2 ounces the vodka and Kahlua first, watching as the ice rose to the top and topped it off with an ounce of irish cream over the ice for a touch of sweetness. This was one of her favorite drinks as it reminded her of her youth in NYC. As a preteen she could remember watching as the Starbucks franchise took over every block in Manhattan like a wildfire. At first she would roll her eyes jadely and scoff at the place, because that's what seasoned New Yorkers did. It was practically sin to pledge allegiance to a artisan cup of coffee over the brew made in your local bodega or the grungy cart on the corner. That was until curiosity killed the cat so to speak but one sip of the 5 dollar house blend and satisfaction brought her right on back. Nothing made her happier than visiting the hipster haven to get her over priced coffee fix, and now as an adult Kadri has upgraded to something similar but a whole lot stronger and that was her signature drink The White Russian made up of her favorite liquor, Kahlua, a coffee flavored spirit with vodka and a touch of irish cream to satisfy her sweettooth. With her drink in hand she proudly took a sip and scanned the room for any sign of Malcom.

Swaying her hips to the song and humming lightly in between sips Kadri scanned the place a couple times over before finally finding the virtuoso. It was needless to say the place was absolutely packed and practically jumping from all the good vibes and drunken dancers jiving around. Kadri waved him down as she made her way through the crowd, she wasn't really sure if he'd seen her or not being that his gaze and movements were notably all over the place which seemed to her like the blissful climax of a buzz about to go south if nursed with anymore liquor. She giggled at his giddiness on the way and when she finally reached him flashed a bright smile and offered him a congratulatory hug and afterwards turned and waved at Luca.

"I'm Kadriyan! Nice to meet you!" She said, giving him a quick appraisal before turning her attention back to Mal. He was a looker that was for sure, and a trendy dresser to boot. He also seemed to be really close to Mal so she logged that as a good sign as well, and resigned to get to know him better before the night came to a close. It was her mission above practically all things to create a friend group in Seattle, she knew it would be key to her survival and happiness if she was going to be so far away from home.

"You were amazing up there, I am so in love with your sound! I am going to need a copy of your album to play in the dressing room for the girls at the club, they're going to love it!" Kadri said as she patted his arm in a playful way and spoke each syllable with a extra ounce of earnestness. She knew that he probably had heard it all a thousand times before but when it came to artists and their craft she took it really personally to encourage them all she could because she knew that could make the ultimate difference between breaking the mold and shrinking away in a cookie cutter image society has of you like she did for most of her life.

"Oh, and I got you something. I hope you don't mind... it's kind of lame and I meant to give it to you before you got up there and did your thing, but still, I hope you like it. Kadri rambled as she removed the tiny silver bag from her purse and presented it too him, nervously awaiting his appraisal of it.

Mal giggles at Luca's comment towards his tolerance of alcohol. "Hey, less alcohol means more money in my pocket for rent, Mr. Model." Mal teases, all too aware in the back of his mind how ridiculous he's acting. THe front of his mind is too clouded by alcohol. Luca comments that he doesn't know what to do with Mal, the singer adopts a seductive smirk on his face. "I have a few ideas." Mal whispers in Luca's ear, winking at him. Before he can further these antics, one of his neighbors walks up to him and Luca, Kadriyan Hassan. Mal brought flowers to her when she moved in.

Kadri opened her arms for a hug, which Mal accepts happily, glowing not only because of the alcohol, but her unabashed praise towards his music. She introduces herself to Luca, taking a nice sweep of his appearance, and then continuing to ramble on about Mal, only making him even more happy to be in her presence. "Kadri you are literally the sweetest person ever! Come by our apartment tomorrow and I will for sure give you a copy." Mal giggles at the girl.

She presents him with a little present, and he gasps, immediately pulling the charm from the bag. Could Kadri be any more sweet? He pulls her into another hug, his arms wrapping tight around her in a very genuine hug. "Oh my god Kadri quit talking, this is the best! I love it so much, I'm definitely- Lu, make sure I put this on my keys, please." Mal takes the charm and stuffs it into the breast pocket of his jacket, just so he doesn't have to keep up with the bag or have it be stolen.

He trashes the bag, and grabs Luca and Kadri by the hands, leading them into the middle of the dance floor. "C'mon you squares, let's have a good time!"

Drunk Mal was nothing new to Luca, much like drunk Luca was nothing new to Mal. There were some nights when they'd get drunk together, just for the hell of it. Sometimes, Luca wondered if there was more to them getting drunk together- but that was something that his sober mind didn't want to dwell on, and something that his drunken mind moved away from naturally. At the seductive smile and the wink, Luca found himself grinning. But before he could reply or even do much more than grin, there was a newcomer.

She was vaguely familiar, although he was pretty sure that they'd never been formally introduced. He was pretty sure that she lived in the same apartment block as him, but she hadn't been there long. "Luca, and likewise," he said, taking a sip out of his nearly-empty drink as he and Mal started to talk. It was unusual that he hadn't met her if she and Mal were friendly- but then again, he had been unusually busy lately. He could have missed a newcomer pretty easily. Something that felt an awful lot like jealousy simmered in the pit of his stomach, but he shrugged it off, keeping his grin on his face for when Mal told him to make sure he put the charm on the keys. The jealousy didn't disappear as Mal grabbed both Luca and Kadri and dragged them to the dancefloor.

He knew that he was being irrational. He didn't know why he was feeling jealous. Mal was his best friend. Hell, they shared an apartment, so it was unlikely that she'd actually be able to steal Mal's friendship away from Luca. Was it fear that Mal would spend time with her that he would have otherwise spent keeping Luca in check, making sure that he ate and that he wasn't getting overly worked up over something ridiculous? Or was it just to do with his drunken, overly emotional self? That was something he needed to dwell on while sober. He knew that his sober self would probably refuse to think about it, but it was better to say that he would than simply forget it altogether.

He drained the rest of his drink and trashed the cup before finally letting loose and allowing himself to dance with Mal and Kadri. Too much of his sober life was spent overthinking and hanging back, he'd be damned if it was to seep into his drunken self as well.

Time: 9:39 A.M.

Occasion: Who doesn't love a good party? The question was asked. And answered. Well, to some extent. No one from the apartment building on the corner of Pike's Place and Turnstone doesn't, that's for sure.

The initial performance by local singer Malcolm Lewis really set the ambiance for the rest of the night, which was pretty spectacular. Host Genesis Carter truly brought her A-game, with a phenomenal food and drink selection, and one of the best DJs in the city. Few frowns were seen throughout the night, as people enjoyed the good vibes within the warehouse, simply dancing and letting loose. But now it's time a second question.

Who actually cares for the day after a party? It sucks in more than one way. For instance, for those who drank much more than they could handle, the morning is accompanied by a pounding migraine. Others may have made some questionable choices whilst under the influence. Some drank responsibly enough, but it's still never fun to wake up after a night of great fun and have to return to a mundane life of normalcy. Just how are the residents of the apartment building getting on?

Holden doesn't regret much in life. Usually when he makes a decision to do something, its because he thought it through and decided that it was worth whatever risk. But the idea to continue drinking even after he felt passed buzzed last night was a horrible idea. He couldn't even drive back home. He took an Uber because he valued both his life and his car too much to attempt to drive. But later on today he would have to go and get it because if he gets called into work, he has to go. Though technically he was off. But during big accidents, they call in everyone. Holden was hoping that wasn't going to be the case today. This was one of these days in which he regrets having such big windows in his room. The sun was shining so bright and that meant it was morning. And that meant he had to get up and attempt to be human.

Rolling over, he covered his eyes from the harsh rays of the sun. He felt his phone go off and grabbed it. It was a message from Dana. His friend had almost drank as much as Holden has. And Dana doesn't even drink that much. So he can imagine the hangover he was experiencing. After turning down his phone's brightness, he sent back a reply to his friend.

;Dana
I feel the hangover and regret drinking as much as I have.

Since he had his phone out he decided to text his other friend Kadri. He knew that she had been at the party, but he had missed her. Holden felt the need to apologize for not going out of his way to see her.

;Kadri
Sorry for not seeing you at the party! And do you happen to have a remedy for hangovers because my headache is killer.

Both messages were sent and he rolled out of bed. He needed coffee before anything. Between his work day and this hangover, he was beyond exhausted.

Kadri squinted as the sun light bled through the curtains hazily and warmed her cinnamon brown skin. With a ferocious yawn and an aerobics worthy stretch she rolled out of bed and made her way over to her closet which was packed to the point of bursting with her adored fashion forward wardrobe and even more thrift shop finds from her hometown of New York that never fit quite right or that she absolute regretted after purchasing.

Shuffling through her closet for a few moments Kadriyan decided on wearing a black leotard with a pair of ripped jeans, chunky black heals, a few witchy accessories and a ball cap over her now unruly curls that she planned to quickly and effortlessly pull into a bun after her morning shower.

███ ██████████████████████████████████████████ ███

After indulging in a soldering hot shower Kadri relished in the small of lavender and honeysuckle that was wafting from the shower throughout the loft. Smiling to herself she resolved that she would drink less at parties if it meant being this alert the morning after, but she knew that she probably wouldn't keep her resolution. It was practically miraculous that she didn't get hammered last night in the first place. She really had Mal and Luca to thank for keeping her so entertained all night that she barely had much else after sipping on her Kahlua based concoction, or at least not enough to have a real alcohol vet like her suffering from a hangover or a lifetime of embarrassment the next day.

Reminiscing over the night fondly Kadri retrieved her half dead Galaxy S7 from the ash tray that she kept on the end table in the living room, much to her roommate Macy's chagrin. She patted herself on the back as she assessed the ash free tray, it was another little victory but she was always just one stressful work day or encounter away from lighting up her Nat Sherman Black and Gold cigarettes that she couldn't believe she used to spend upward of $25 a pack for. Now anytime she feels like she can't drown the habit of lighting up she sparks up a joint instead, a highly preferred alternative to her, but somehow still not always as satisfying.

Waking the screen, Kadri found she had a text message from Holden James, the EMT from a few floors above her. After a few weeks of living on Pike's Place and Turnstone Kadri quickly surmised that being on the first floor of the complex had it's perks. She'd grown to know a little bit about everybody especially their sleeping habits or lack thereof based on what hours of the night or day they made their way through the main entrance. Kadri had met Holden after a long night of performing at Silhouette, the burlesque Gentlemen's Club and bar she worked at in the outskirts of the city. Coming home at 3am or later if a private party was booked at the club was no strange task to the girl being that she used to work practically twenty-four hour shifts at her old haunts in NYC, but seeing Holden stroll in around 4am kind of jarred her a bit, she was so used to being in her own little world all by herself at that hour, and therefore couldn't help ask what he did for a living that had him so sleep deprived, and practically stumbling into the complex at such an hour. Ever since the two have hit it off pretty decently so far, and make an effort to keep in touch and run in the same circles, and for that Kadri was thankful. Getting to know people here was proving much easier than she ever imagines it would be.

P.s.s If you want to test any of the more... illicit remedies I can definitely help. and if not I can brew the coffee and provide the advil lol && No worries about the party. Feel better!

After hitting send Kadri sent a quick text to Luca and Mal, thanking them for the fun and memorable night. Along with Mal's text she also decided to finally explain the significance of the crystal she'd gifted him the night before.

Texts to...
Luca Griffiths and Malcom Lewis
Can't quite remember if I let you in on the secret or not last night, but the crystal I gave you is called opalite and is supposed to have some hocus pocus type magical qualities like relaxation in anxious moments the power to cleanse one's kidneys of toxins (which might be very handy than last night and much cheaper than dialysis I might add lol). It's fine if you don't believe in it, I kind of don't subscribe to it fully myself but I thought it might help you feel more in control and calm when you perform. Considering how you blew the roof off of the place last night I doubt you even get nervous lol but I hope you like it! :).

With a light tap on the send button she threw her phone haphazardly onto the couch without a care seeing as the device was basically life proof and sauntered finally over to her roommates room where she rapped on the door lightly, awaiting the girls annoyed reply about how she was busy studying but a reply never came.

Where the hell is Macy...it's really not often that I am awake before her and definitely not for so long. By now her textbooks would've been strewn across the coffee table and while reruns of Grey's- she wretches physically at the thought of the melodramatic soap before continuing her train of thought-play in the background. AND she never replied to my text message form last night... definitely odd... Again Kadri knocked on the door but more forcefully as she called the girls name.

"Macy, you okay in there? I'm coming in okay?" The girl spoke before twisting the knob and crossing the threshold into Macy's bedroom, which she'd never did before until now. She looked wide eyed at the space, it was completely spotless from floor to ceiling. Literally not a speck, spot or piece of furniture or decor graced any of the walls or floors. Not a trace of Macy Vandover could be found except fora note she found sitting atop the naked bed frame signed in Macy's hand.

Looking around I'm sure you have come to the solid conclusion that I've packed my things and left so I'll keep this brief. Seattle has been too much for me. I thought it was the right thing for me to come back home, but way too much has happened here for me to put up with. I found a nice apartment a couple weeks ago in Portland and a job opportunity in my desired field so that's where heading. Wish me luck, and if you want to contact me involving the move you have my number. Otherwise I'd like to cut off all connections to this place... I already paid my share of the rent for the next two months which should give you enough time to find a new roommate, anyone would want to live here. Sorry to leave you high and dry like this, but I'm sure you'll figure it out.
-Best, Macy Vandover

Kadriyan breathed a long heavy sigh, as if the world itself had been balanced in her shoulders. Shit..

Holden watched as the coffee brewed, checking his work emails once again. He was just double checking to make sure that he wasn't being called in right now. He didn't think he could handle a day like yesterday. It was just all too much at once. His eyes went back to the coffee pot and he sighed. He didn't think that the coffee could have brewed any slower. It was driving him to madness and it just made him realize how bad his hangover was. Usually he doesn't have hangovers this bad. But he was blaming the fact that he drank while exhausted. Always a bad idea. His phone vibrated several different times. Each message was from Kadri. He read through each message, smiling the whole time. Both helpful and sarcastic.

They had met very early in the morning. It seemed that their schedules lined them up in a way where they were both walking into there homes around four in the morning. It was interesting since Holden was just used to moving around that early on his own. So of course they talked to each other and made it a point to keep in touch. He pulled of the reply box to answer her texts.

;Kadri
1. Just because I save people on the back of an ambulance doesn't mean I make smart drinking decisions.
2. I blame exhaustion on my hangover not the alcohol
3. I would like to keep my remedy legal so I don't end up where I work.
4. I can bring my own coffee. But I will take your advil. I can be in at your door in about 15 mins.

With that sent he went to get himself in the shower. Pajamas and morning breath was not going to fly with Kadri. It never takes him long to get ready. With his spontaneous job, he has just learned to get dressed in record timing. Stepping out of the shower, towel wrapped around his waist, he started scrubbing the inside of his mouth. It felt good to replace the taste of poison with mint. Even when the initial taste was gone, he continued to scrub. Holden wanted to make sure he got rid of any evidence that he even drank. He then swished mouthwash around for about a minute. Never has his mouth felt so clean. He left his bathroom and headed over to his closet. He just picked out something at random. As long as the clothes smelled nice, then they were wearable.

He stood before his mirror and ran his fingers through his wet hair. It would be dry in a hour or so, no need to pull out the hair dryer. Holden went back to the kitchen and pulled out a mug to pour his coffee into. He took his time drinking the cup. He still had a couple of minutes before he said he would be in front of Kadri's door. When he finished that cup, he washed it and put it away. He started rummaging around for a to go mug. Once one was found, he filled it up to the top and placed the cap onto it.

Holden checked his pockets. HIs wallet and phone were secure. He grabbed the keys on his way out and decided to take the stairs. The elevator takes too long sometimes. Holden took sips of his coffee as he ventured down the stairs. He exited on her floor and went to her door. He knocked three times and just waited to be let in.

Kadri practically jumped out of her skin at the sound of who she suspected to be Holden knocking at the door. The letter left behind by Macy completely took her out of reality and soured her mood. She couldn't believe that the girl wouldn't discuss the move with her before up and leaving. She'd payed for two months rent at least but what if she couldn't find someone? She didn't know anyone in Seattle who needed a place to live and she definitely was skeptical to posting ads, what if she ended up rooming with an axe murderer or some creepy Black Swan-esque girl. She shuddered at the idea.

Trying to shake it off Kadri crumpled the note into a ball and threw it in the living room frustratedly.
"Sorry for the wait, I'm coming!" Kadriyan hollered before removing the locks from her door and extending her arms to offer a hug before motioning for Holden to come in.
"Make yourself at home, I'm going to run and get the advil and I'll be right back." She said as she jogged to the bathroom carefully in her heels but still managed to trip on the paper ball she just threw onto the floor.
"I should probably pick that up." She said with a light chuckle trying to remain light hearted. Entering the bathroom Kadri opened the medicine cabinet searching for the little white bottle with the red label. Aha! She thought as she finally locked her sights onto and emerged from the bathroom, chucking it lightly at Holden.
"Hangover cure incoming at 12 o'clock."

Either Luca is completely oblivious of Mal's attraction, which he highly doubts because of the model's intelligence, and their many nights in each other's bed, or Luca doesn't have feelings for him. Unfortunately the latter seems much more likely. Luca doesn't bother to ask who this "someone else" is, rather, changes the subject by asking about the breakfast he'd just rejected earlier. "You'll find it." Mal's voice usually doesn't reach a level of disdain, especially for Luca, but having his attractions being blatantly ignored doesn't exactly make him happy.

Luca mills about, and Mal realizes he can no longer be in this apartment, just staring at Luca so carefree, especially when the boy is usually visibly riddled with anxiety. "I'll be back for dinner." Mal doesn't bother with a goodbye as he places the hat on top of his head and walks out of the apartment, failing to not slam the door behind him.

Whatever. I can't force someone to like me. Plus, I have a date, why am I being pissy?

Mal bumps into a blonde woman with a couple of boxes, moving into Kadri's floor, if he remembers correctly. "Are you moving into this floor? I didn't realize there was a vacancy. I'm Mal, by the way, can I help you with those?" Mal introduces himself to the woman, who eyes him warily for a second before grinning small and gesturing him to grab the top box in her shaking arms.

"Miss Macy Vandover put up an ad online, and I snatched it up. I'm Augusta, but my friends call me 'Gusta. You can call me either." 'Gusta introduces herself, knocking on her new apartment door with a couple of kicks. When the person inside opens the door, she peeks her head over the boxes and smiles. "Good, I was hoping someone would be home when I got here. Augusta Calhoun, new resident of Pike's Place and co-owner of this very apartment."

Mal sets the box he has down in the apartment and apologizes for leaving so quickly before leaving the two inside the apartment and Miss Calhoun to their business. His phone vibrates, and it's the producer.

[ To: Malcolm Lewis. Are we still on? Lasagna for two sounds mighty lonely if it's just for me. ]

Mal replies in the affirmative, that he was running behind because he woke up late, and rushes down to his car. He can't help but think of Luca the whole ride to an Italian joint on the other side of town. Did Luca really not have feelings for him? Were their nights together just because Mal was there? Doubts that had never popped in his head were clouding his head, and causing his eyes to water. He'd never addressed his feelings, and technically, he still hadn't. But his subtle hint seemed to really jolt Luca, and not in a good way. That was what really hurt. If Luca had led him on this whole time, and never meant a thing, well, Mal would finally know what heartbreak really felt like.

"Hello, Malcolm!" The producer meets him outside the joint and they walk in together, the producer's arm slung around Mal's waist. It was pretty forward, but right now, Mal didn't exactly mind. They had a table for two in the back on the restaurant, and a bottle of red was waiting for them.

"Well, if I wasn't sure this is a date before..." Mal jokes, and the producer laughs more politely than genuinely, pulling out Mal's seat for him. The producer, who re-introduces himself as Louis, orders for them and spends the whole date doing nothing but staring at Mal affectionately and asking him all about his life. He even held Mal's hand as he told Mal the plans of his record deal with Barsuk Records.

Holden heard Kadri coming because of the clicking of her heels. He chuckled a bit, when the thought of his friend in pajamas dressed up in heels crossed his mind. Of course he knew that she would never dress like that, it was an amusing thought. The door opened up and Holden smiled brightly at her. He hugged her back, letting it last a long while, before detaching himself from her. She had told him to make himself at home, but he had already planned on doing that. "Don't mind if I do." he said before sitting on the couch. Holden took a sip from his giant coffee mug. He watched Kadri walk away and trip over some paper. He kept the laughter inside by drinking even more coffee. Finally she disappeared into the bathroom, to get advil no doubt, and Holden relaxed more into the couch. Her couch was very soft and it was very easy to sink into. "Hangover cure incoming at 12 o'clock."

He sat up and turned around, expecting Kadri to be handing it to him. But instead he just saw a flying bottle of pills headed toward him. Holden managed to catch it...with his face. It didn't hurt. Just unexpected. "Thanks Kadri." he said with an amused toned as he picked up the pill bottle and opened it up. He wasn't supposed to be taking pain meds with coffee so he decided just to take one for now. And eventually when he switches over to water, he will take another one. Holden downed the pill with a big swig of coffee. Closing the bottle, he set it on the table. "So Kadri, how are you doing? What are your plans for today?" He asked, to make conversation wit his friend.

ImageTossing the bottle in an arc through the air Kadri waits expecting Holden to sharply turn and prepared to catch the bottle but instead it hits him squarely in the face, and the pill bottle falls to his lap with a rattle. Kadri's instincts drove her to reach her hands out as if somehow she could retract the bottle from making contact with his face after it had already been done. He jaw clenched at the mishap, expecting him to become upset with her but when she saw a smirk creep onto his face followed by a sarcastic thank you she broke down into a fit of laughter.

"I am so sorry- I- I thought.." She said stopping every couple of syllables to allow for the infectious laughter that bellowed from core and reverberated in the room.

"I'm a jerk, I'm actually really sorry, I just have a really poor excuse for a sense of humor." The girl said with a few final chuckles as she picked up the scrunched up paper ball on the floor that her Holden induced laughing fit had distracted her from for a moment. Holden politely inquired as to how her day had been as she unraveled the paper ball and handed the sheet to him, joining him on the couch.

"Hectic already unfortunately, read this." Kadri said with a sigh as she tried to wait patiently for Holden to scan over the letter but her nerves were making it rather impossible. Instead of taking it out on the boy Kadri stretched over the arm of the couch reaching into the end table drawer and pulled a single black and gold cigarette from the one pack she had left and intended to ration until she kicked her habit altogether. There were fifteen cigarettes left in the pack of twenty, signifying five moments of weakness.

"Hope you don't mind." She said not exactly waiting on a reply before reaching for her lighter and bringing the flame to the end.

"Who does something like this! I can't even begin to understand why she didn't just come and talk to me. Granted, we weren't on the best terms but this isn't something that you just leave up to fate! What if I have to pick all of the rent on my own? Business at Silhouette isn't booming like it used-" Kadri vented before she was cut off by a knocking at the door. With Holden no more than an ear shot away Kadri sprang from her seat and peered through the looking glass of her door, there was Malcolm and a very dainty and unfamiliar blonde girl with a slue of boxes in tow. Upon opening the door Kadri was greeted by the girls foreign southern drawl.

"Good, I was hoping someone would be home when I got here. Augusta Calhoun, new resident of Pike's Place and co-owner of this very apartment."Kadri raised an eyebrow at this but gestured for the girl to come in and took the boxes that Mal were carrying before bidding him a good morning and watching him disappear beyond the entrance of the complex and onto the streets.

"I'm Kadriyan, you can call me Kadri and this is Holden Jacobs he lives upstairs. I-I don't thing I got your name... And how did you hear about the vacancy?" Kadri said as she took a few more drags from her cigarette before snuffing out the embers and sneaking a quick glance at Holden as if to say What the hell is going on...?
