ImagePERSONALITY

|Compassionate| |Self-Pitying| |Adaptable| |Indecisive| |Imaginative|

Rosaline values authenticity and always wants to be original and individual in whatever she does. She is often concerned with a search for meaning and truth within herself. Following tradition holds little appeal for her; as she prefers to do her own exploration of values and ideas, and decide for herself what seems right. Rosaline is accepting and nonjudgmental in her treatment of others, believing that each person must follow their own path. She will mostly focus her attention on just a few people, a single worthy cause – spread too thinly, she’ll run out of energy, and even become dejected and overwhelmed by all the bad in the world that she can’t fix. If she is not careful, Rosaline can lose herself in her quest for good and neglect the day-to-day upkeep that life demands. She can often drift into deep thought, enjoying contemplating the hypothetical and the philosophical more than most. Left unchecked, she may start to lose touch, withdrawing into "hermit mode", and it can take a great deal of energy from her friends or partner to bring her back to the real world. Luckily, like the flowers in spring, Rosaline’s affection, creativity, altruism and idealism will always come back, rewarding her and those she loves perhaps not with logic and utility, but with a world view that inspires compassion, kindness and beauty wherever she goes. She is flexible and accommodating, and can often see many points of view. It is important to her to support other people; however, she may react strongly if she feels her own values are being violated. She especially hates being steamrolled by people who insist there is one right way to do things. Rosaline presents a calm and serene face to the world, and can seem shy, even distant around others. But inside she's anything but serene, having a capacity for personal caring rarely found in the others. She cares deeply about the inner life of a few special persons, or about a favorite cause in the world at large. And her great passion is to heal the conflicts that trouble individuals, or that divide groups, and thus to bring wholeness, or health, to herself, her loved ones, and her community. Rosaline has a profound sense of idealism that comes from a strong personal sense of right and wrong. She conceives the world as an ethical, honorable place, full of wondrous possibilities and potential goods. In fact, to understand her, you must understand that her deep commitment to the positive and the good is almost boundless and selfless, inspiring her to make extraordinary sacrifices for someone or something she believes in. At work, Rosaline is adaptable, welcome to new ideas and new information, is patient with complicated situations, but impatient with routine details. She is keenly aware of people and their feelings, and relate well with most others. Because of her deep-seated reserve, however, she can work quite happily alone. When making decisions, Rosaline follows her heart not her head, which means she can make errors of fact, but seldom of feeling.

BITES LIP WHEN NERVOUSPOPS KNUCKLES QUITE FREQUENTLYCAN NEVER SEEM TO WAKE ON THE FIRST ALARMOVERLY HONESTSERIAL FIDGETEROBSESSED WITH 60'S/70'S FASHION AND DESIGN

TALENTS | STRENGTHS

`◇ MUSICAL ABILITY ;Ever since Rosaline was a child she was surrounded by music. Her mother was a violinist from Ireland who came to the US to study at Julliard. She didn't intend to fall in love with Rosaline's father while she was there though. Together she was raised by a percussionist and a violinist who instilled in her an insatiable love for music.
`◇ CHARISMA ; Rosaline has a very magnetic personality without even trying. Her childlike wonder and kindness is endearing to most people she meets. Coupled with a quick wit and knowledge of just the right thing to say and it's no wonder why she makes friends so easily.
`◇ GARDENING ; Rosaline has a huge green thumb and a knack for growing in any climate. Her grandmother from the old country made sure to teach her everything she knew on Rose's rare visits. This knowledge has especially helped her grow through the damp and rainy climate of Seattle.
`◇ TECHNOLOGY ; When Rosaline wasn't practicing she was usually tinkering. She grew to be fairly proficient in computer systems and has even built one of her own. It's just another hobby to her though, and she never really thought to make money off it.

FLAWS | WEAKNESSES

`◇ OCCASIONAL MELANCHOLY ; There are times when Rosaline can get bogged down with stress and a feeling of failure. She was born with an incessant need to fix all bad things in the world and she tends to become sad and distant when reality strikes and she knows she never can. She always get back up though.
`◇ SENSETIVE ; Rosaline is a very emotional person and this can put a huge target on her for some people. She's just as easy to upset as she is to cheer up and her world is just a rainbow of emotions.
`◇ SHORT ATTENTION SPAN ; There's just to much of the world to take in at one time and that can tend to be distracting for anyone. Rosaline, though, raises it to an art form and day dreaming is her favorite past time.
`◇ GULLIBLE ; She has a very trusting and gentle nature and there are most definitely people out there who love to exploit these triats.

FEARS

`◇ INTIMACY ; Intimacy is just something that makes her nervous. She is okay with being alone, but everyone wants someone by there side. Her biggest fear is her own tendency to latch on to people and become emotional too fast. She truly afrid of being too intense and getting hurt.
`◇ THE DARK ; It maybe childish, but some childhood fears you never quite get over.
`◇ YELLING ; This ties into her emotions and someone being angry at or around her to the point where they yell is too much for her and she will run away.

ImagexxxHISTORY
Rosaline doesn't have a tragic tale to speak of. Everyone has things in their life that they'd rather forget, but for the most part she's enjoyed her time so far. She grew up in a regular New York brownstone neighborhood with two musician parents who spent a good part of their day making sure she perfected her craft. She began playing piano when she was 4 and learned other instruments on the way, but there was just something about the diversity of the sound that always drew her back to her piano. She didn't have too many friends growing up. She didn't have time since her parents were always making sure she made time for studies and practice, but she did have one of the most amazing best friends a person could have, Dorthy. Dorothy was very kind and wise beyond her years. She had an amazing talent for writing and they would often sit and write songs and stories together well into the wee hours of he morning. They ran and got dirty and did things little girls did all from the time they rode bikes to high school when all they could think of were boys. Rosaline would say her life was perfect, she didn't mind her parents strictness because she knew they cared, but everything that goes up, must come down.
It was her junior year of high school when she first started to notice Dorthy was sick. She became very thin and frail and she skin grew more translucent every week. It wasn't long after that that Dorthy stopped going to school altogether. When Rosaline asked her parents, very nice but private people, they merely told her Dorthy was sick and left it at that. Never one to take things as they were, Rosaline persisted and Dorthy's parents finally revealed the truth, Dorthy had developed a particularly deadly form of Leukemia and it had already metastasized to her lymph nodes before they could catch it. For 4 months Rosaline went to the hospital at Mt. Sinai every day to see her best friend, to watch her wither away. Never once did she stop sing, or writing with her. She was as close to family as one could be and words cannot describe how precious those last moments were to her. And so, on a bright sunny day in May, she helped to lay Dorthy's head for the last time under a clear sky. And so, while she now lives a world away from her home, her family, and her dear friend, Rosaline never lost hope on seeing beauty in the world. She never stopped exploring, never stopped wanting more. She decided soon after she graduated that she would see the world, and took the first step by moving her to Seattle. Her parents didn't like it, no parents wants to be away from their child, but Rose needed to be free to pursue her life. After all, Dorthy always said "You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough. Do it right Rosie, and that'll be enough for me."

            Date: July 4, 2016

            Time: 7:14 P.M. Doors open at 8:00 P.M.

Occasion: Who doesn't love a good party? Especially the youths of the city. They're still young, they're allowed to have their fun. One might even say it's almost their duty to do so. Y'know, before life takes a hold with sharp talons and soul-sucking grip. They don't have forever to live. They might as well enjoy the time they've got. Genesis Carter, resident of the infamous apartment building on the corner of Pike's Place and Turnstone, seems to embrace this philosophy. At least, that's what one can assume given the massive rager she's arranged to have held for the fourth of July. What better opportunity to throw a great party? She's pulled out all the stops. Arranged entertainment for the event is local singer Malcolm Lewis, another resident of the apartment building. Plenty of people are invited to attend, and everyone in Seattle knows that when word gets out, more people than the ones initially invited manage to find their way into the party. But who cares, right? Everyone's just out to have a good time. Of course, all the residents of the host's apartment building are invited to attend, so shall we see what the night holds for them?

Location: The old warehouse down in the Station District. It's been a pretty popular location for parties recently.

OUTFIT:X LOCATION:Party HEX:#004D00

ImageRosaline 's room was a tornado of clothing and chaos as she quickly tried to throw together one of her many messy, multicolored ensables. A pair of tights, a nice skirt and some bright orange platforms later and she was dressed for the night. Unfortunately for her she had fallen asleep and naps always mean losing half a day when it comes to her.
She did her makeup quickly, minimally and efficiently and topped off her red head with a pretty flower crown because why not?The more colorful, the more loud, the better. She knew that her roommate, Lloyd had probably already left for the party because he was a meanie that never thought to include her. That was fine though, he knew he'd hear about it later.
Rosaline chuckled as she sent a quick text to him:

"I hope you know how much of a butthole you are for not waking me XP"

She ran out as fast as she could out the door and to the elevator that would take her all the way down to the first floor and onto the street where her bug was waiting for her. She hopped in and drove the short distance to the warehouse where the party would be held and she smiled at the old building. Old things were her favorite.
As she climbed out of the vehicle she stretched her hands and popped her knuckles. Playing the piano as often as she did is pretty hard on the joints and she's had her fair share of cramps. She walked up to the stairs to the floor the party was on and shook out the last of her cramps, they wouldn't bother her tonight. Rosaline didn't take very many opportunities to socialize with her fellow tennants, as she really valued personal time, but when she did she made sure to live it up. She ran up the stairs as quickly as possible as the mantra "latelatelatelatelatelatelatelate" punctuated every step. She finally reached the door and took a deep breath, making sure to straighten her flower crown, and threw open the door. Immediately her eagle eyes settled on the small group in the center and the many people mulling about, all waiting on Mal to rock the stage. She pulled out her phone before moving as sent him a quick text:
"Good Luck sweetie! You'll do great!<3"

She put her phone in her purse and walked up behind Lloyd and leaned her head over his shoulder, "MMMMMHMMMMM"
She laughed and walked around him and smiled to him and everyone,
"Evening everyone! It's a pretty day for a party huh?"

Warehouse Party
Dusk

══════════════════════
The party had finally began to kick up in earnest, a few more random guests had slowly trickled in outside of their group, and Malcom's 'performance' had already threatened to start soon. Lloyd was getting tired of the charade already, as he could visibly see Genesis begin to slowly close herself off from the group, not really standing with them, so much as standing by them. The woman he had addressed earlier was introduced as Kadriyan, apparently another one of the few from his apartment building. He smiled and thanked them both graciously.

She casually mentioned she lived Macy Vandover down on the first floor. The name sounded familiar, perhaps mentioned in passing by another one of the few acquaintances he'd made so far. He was about to reply when a bright pale face with orange hair leaned in over his shoulder. For a brief moment, the smile faded, but he quickly replaced it as he breathed.

His housemate, Rosaline had finally arrived. He was right in his assumption she'd make it fine, but in truth, he hadn't exactly given her much leeway when it came to time. He had just picked up the invite from it's place on the counter, and walked out of the room, leaving her dozing off in her room. She always tended to sleep for much of a day, and waking her wasn't an option, so with no promise of her waking soon, he rushed off, hoping to arrive before things started.

Rose's intrusion into the conversation gave Lloyd a chance to look around, taking note of the other guests. The trickle of people had turned into a flood, and now many more people than just the occupants of their shabby little apartment building had filled the room, some holding drinks, others holding small plates of food. It all looked rather amazing, all of it being fully organized by a single person. Lloyd looked down at his drink, realizing some likely just came for the free alcohol and entertainment. A final glace at the door showed the sun falling ever closer to the horizon, as the golden light had dimmed considerably. It wouldn't be too long now.

All that Lloyd needed to try and find some way to strike up a conversation with his hostess, maybe establish himself as a friend. He doubted he would learn much about her tonight, but asking a few general questions, as the curious friend, might lend him some kind of information. If only he could keep Rose from dissuading him too much.

Taking another sip of his drink, he shot Rose a slight warning glance. He only hoped she would keep her nose clean, and try and not tell everyone his truer intentions. Refreshing his smile, he looked back over towards Genesis. "You have an incredibly fine selection of drinks, Ms Carter. How did you manage to get your hands on any of this?"

He sounded happy, almost forced. He needed to reel it in, and seem genuine. However, before he could get a reply, a dull hum and a static feedback from a recently turned on microphone rang throughout the room. Everyone turned their attention to the stage, and hid his irritation, turning with them. Malcom's performance was about to begin, and everyone in the room knew it. Lloyd sighed, and finished his drink, quietly excusing himself back to the alcohol table. At this rate, he'd be wasted before the night was over.

Matthias couldn’t help but be distracted, even as more and more people joined the small group surrounding the host. All of a sudden, a wave of tension washed over him; he seemed to recall why exactly it was he disliked attending parties of any sort. Even among people he knew relatively well, he still felt mildly uncomfortable, and he knew it’d be particularly awful when he was surrounded by strangers.

Before the influx of people, there was a wisecrack from Genesis. A comment about his general cooking skill, and likely also about his general snobbiness towards others’ food. He laughed, a genuine laugh, and opened his mouth to reply, but never got the chance as someone came in with a loud greeting.

First came the curly-haired girl from the first floor. He knew her by her gait, always impressed with her casual ease and elegance in basic movement. But they’d rarely spoken, and the most Matt did was offer a small smile at her appearance.

Then it was the latest addition to their hodge-podge of tenants. From overheard conversations, Matt had picked out his name to be Lloyd, but he knew nothing about the man beyond that. They’d never spoken, and to be perfectly honest, it was no accident. His presence left Matt with an unsettling feeling deep within his stomach, and Matt tended to listen to his gut instinct. It had rarely steered him wrong, and as always, his motto steered heavily in the direction of “better safe than sorry.” He merely nodded when Lloyd greeted him by name and Genesis confirmed it, though Parker had no reservations when it came to him. She dealt with him as she did with any unknown people— with a smile and a peppy greeting. He frowned. He always tried to get her to proceed with a little more caution, at the very least, but his lessons rarely held any weight. She continued on her path, striking up conversation where she went, regardless of location or person.

More casual conversation ensued, to which Matt wasn’t particularly tuned into. Still, he couldn’t help the frequent glances over his shoulder; the habit was hardwired into him, always wary of crowds and any large swaths of people. He knew he’d make his way to the back wall when Mal began his set, despite the fact that he had been told by the boy that he’d be looking for him in the front row. It was something that simply couldn’t be helped.

A bright head of red hair appeared, adding to Matt’s ever increasing discomfort. He’d never had the chance to get to know her too well either, but he didn’t lament the fact. She came off a child to him, someone difficult to deal with. He had plenty of those sorts in his life already.

Time passed faster than he had expected, and then the lights were dimming. He checked his wristwatch. Eight fifteen. Damn. He wanted to get to a wall before the crowd concentrated and made it difficult to maneuver through the throngs of people, so he leaned forward and lightly ruffled Gen’s hair, his silent method of saying he’d be leaving their small group, and clapped Parker on the shoulder. With a curt nod to the rest of the people around him, he slid off into the general darkness of the warehouse. He’d find his way back to Gen and Parker later, after Mal’s set was over and done with, but he knew he’d hate the experience of being part of a bouncing audience. There’d still be plenty of time for socialization after the set, the party was bound to go on into the early hours of the morning, and Mal wouldn’t be on nearly that long. No, with his back against a surface, he was content enough to wait the hour it would take to listen to the concert. And it helped that he was sure he’d enjoy the boy’s singing as well.

ImageKadri watched curiously as the the group slowly began to dissolve into the sea of unfamiliar faces of the other attendees of the 4th of July extravaganza. Matthias retreated to a far corner of the warehouse, seeming almost guard-like as he stood there taking a passive play at experiencing the party. Being the lone wolf wasn't ever really Kadriyan's style, she was always filling her work free time with interesting people and wild shenanigans just for the sheer art of disaster and spontaneity, but she could definitely respect his discipline. If there was nothing else Matthias could provide as a benefit of his companionship, Kadri duly noted that his observant nature and overall temperance was still a virtue worth it's weight in gold.

Llyod on the other hand, who's collected persona rivaled Matthias' own in its own ways made his way to the bar with the intent of a heat seeking missile trained on a crowd of warm bodies. Noted. She thought, not really passing harsh judgement, but making a sharp observation. As the saying goes he who cast the first stone, blah... blah.. blah.. Kadri has always been a hard drinker, even in her more studious and straight-and-narrow high school and college days. Any chance she got to unwind and knock back a drink she took full liberty in her God given right to get shit faced and deal with hungover Kadri in the morning... Well, maybe God-given wasn't the right choice of words for a girl who grew up with a holy book strictly condemning alcohol, but someone's sacred book out there probably celebrated the stuff and that possibility was enough for her to leave the worries in the bottom of each bottle. Keeping her eyes on Llyod a half beat longer she felt a small burst of accomplishment rush over her, even though it was for something so silly. She smirked knowing now with the utmost certainty that there was something utterly off about her neighbor, and more than just an affinity for control. Drinkers are always the same. Yeah, that first shot may be for the hell of it, to let loose, to have fun, but the last drink of the night always tastes poignantly desperate and like the bitters of whatever you're chasing or conversely what's chasing you. Removing her gaze from the boy and refocusing on the lot that stood before her made up of Genesis, Parker and Rose she smiled politely.

"I hope you ladies don't mind if I step away for a sec to help myself to a drink. You're all welcome to come of course, I'll even mix something special for everyone if you think you can handle it. I'm always happy to introduce friends to some interesting liquor, it's always more fun to get drunk in style." She said with a chuckle and raised eyebrows hoping the girls would join her in traversing the dangerously slippery slope that was alcohol masked almost completely by the taste of syrups and fruit juices. Over the years Kadri found that maintaining a light buzz with mixed drinks always seemed to be possible in the beginning but without fail five minutes in you're wondering how the it all crept up on you so fast. By the end of the set Kadri intended to be thoroughly blown away and completely carefree enough to party until the wee morning hours regardless of her early morning rehearsal for work the following day. Hearing the instrumentals carry through out the space that would be greeted by Mal's voice any second she awaited their replies.

ImageKadri watched as Genesis and Parker, hand in hand made there was across the floor and over to the corner where Matthias stood for the length of Mal's performance taking in what everyone expected to be an absolutely breathtaking display. Kadri was more enthralled by Mal than she even imagined she would be, and was surely not disappointed. She made note to speak to him about buying a CD to keep in her apartment to prance around to on her days off and lazy Saturday mornings. He was talented, and that was without a doubt.

Redirecting herself from the stage and to the dance floor he she noticed before her now stood only Rose who she wasn't very familiar with but would be happy to drink with if the offer enticed her. However greeted by the thumping bass line of One Dance by Drake blaring throughout the warehouse and the look on Rose's face the springy haired brunette could tell her request had been lost in the cacophony of sounds around them so she smiled politely at the girl and gestured to the bar before mumbling a quick adieu and finally headed on her merry way to get up to no good all by her lonesome. With giddy anticipation Kadriyan too a look at the selection whilst raising her eyebrow, instantly accepting the challenge of the wide spread. Kadri reached for the clear plastic cup at the end of the table and filled it with a bit of ice, just enough to cover the bottom. She hated nothing more than watered down alcohol, but in this heat pouring a drink without ice wasn't an enticing option.

Scanning the table like a spy would scan the crowd for his target Kadri set her sights on the Russian Standard vodka lined up next to other more notable but less potent brands, next she spoted the Kahlua and lastly garnered the Irish cream. Kadriyan poured 2 ounces the vodka and Kahlua first, watching as the ice rose to the top and topped it off with an ounce of irish cream over the ice for a touch of sweetness. This was one of her favorite drinks as it reminded her of her youth in NYC. As a preteen she could remember watching as the Starbucks franchise took over every block in Manhattan like a wildfire. At first she would roll her eyes jadely and scoff at the place, because that's what seasoned New Yorkers did. It was practically sin to pledge allegiance to a artisan cup of coffee over the brew made in your local bodega or the grungy cart on the corner. That was until curiosity killed the cat so to speak but one sip of the 5 dollar house blend and satisfaction brought her right on back. Nothing made her happier than visiting the hipster haven to get her over priced coffee fix, and now as an adult Kadri has upgraded to something similar but a whole lot stronger and that was her signature drink The White Russian made up of her favorite liquor, Kahlua, a coffee flavored spirit with vodka and a touch of irish cream to satisfy her sweettooth. With her drink in hand she proudly took a sip and scanned the room for any sign of Malcom.

Swaying her hips to the song and humming lightly in between sips Kadri scanned the place a couple times over before finally finding the virtuoso. It was needless to say the place was absolutely packed and practically jumping from all the good vibes and drunken dancers jiving around. Kadri waved him down as she made her way through the crowd, she wasn't really sure if he'd seen her or not being that his gaze and movements were notably all over the place which seemed to her like the blissful climax of a buzz about to go south if nursed with anymore liquor. She giggled at his giddiness on the way and when she finally reached him flashed a bright smile and offered him a congratulatory hug and afterwards turned and waved at Luca.

"I'm Kadriyan! Nice to meet you!" She said, giving him a quick appraisal before turning her attention back to Mal. He was a looker that was for sure, and a trendy dresser to boot. He also seemed to be really close to Mal so she logged that as a good sign as well, and resigned to get to know him better before the night came to a close. It was her mission above practically all things to create a friend group in Seattle, she knew it would be key to her survival and happiness if she was going to be so far away from home.

"You were amazing up there, I am so in love with your sound! I am going to need a copy of your album to play in the dressing room for the girls at the club, they're going to love it!" Kadri said as she patted his arm in a playful way and spoke each syllable with a extra ounce of earnestness. She knew that he probably had heard it all a thousand times before but when it came to artists and their craft she took it really personally to encourage them all she could because she knew that could make the ultimate difference between breaking the mold and shrinking away in a cookie cutter image society has of you like she did for most of her life.

"Oh, and I got you something. I hope you don't mind... it's kind of lame and I meant to give it to you before you got up there and did your thing, but still, I hope you like it. Kadri rambled as she removed the tiny silver bag from her purse and presented it too him, nervously awaiting his appraisal of it.

Time: 9:39 A.M.

Occasion: Who doesn't love a good party? The question was asked. And answered. Well, to some extent. No one from the apartment building on the corner of Pike's Place and Turnstone doesn't, that's for sure.

The initial performance by local singer Malcolm Lewis really set the ambiance for the rest of the night, which was pretty spectacular. Host Genesis Carter truly brought her A-game, with a phenomenal food and drink selection, and one of the best DJs in the city. Few frowns were seen throughout the night, as people enjoyed the good vibes within the warehouse, simply dancing and letting loose. But now it's time a second question.

Who actually cares for the day after a party? It sucks in more than one way. For instance, for those who drank much more than they could handle, the morning is accompanied by a pounding migraine. Others may have made some questionable choices whilst under the influence. Some drank responsibly enough, but it's still never fun to wake up after a night of great fun and have to return to a mundane life of normalcy. Just how are the residents of the apartment building getting on?

Location: The apartment building on the corner of Pike's Place and Turnstone as well as affiliated locations.

DANA WREN SONG

Bright rays of sunlight filtered through thin, white sheets and the birds of Seattle chirping loudly announced the arrival of an ideal day. The image of what could’ve been a slightly cliched but fairytale-esque morning, however, was rudely disturbed by tortured groans and complaints of hunger. Dana’d kept himself firmly in check at first, but somewhere along the night, it was suddenly a game to test his limits. The more drinks he’d had, the brighter the fireworks boomed, the louder the crowd cheered, and the less mortifying dancing like an oxygen-deprived goldfish became. Of course, he faced the consequences of having nothing but a few cupcakes that’d been delightfully decorated with the American flag and a lot of alcohol in his stomach. Quite a number of party-goers had been victims of a grown man practically hanging off of them like a koala and even more experienced his excessive outbursts of laughter.

Nothing much really happened after someone shoved him away, as far as his memories went. The party was still at its height, but the male had passed out in a dusty corner. He remembered being awoken a couple of times by concerned friends, but he’d shooed them away with a limp hand. As the crowd started to thin, he’d woken up with his head on the lap of another sleeping guest, to his delayed surprise. Dana remembered gently shaking the owner of his makeshift pillow conscious who, thankfully, found her designated driver and stumbled away after giving him a quick peck. Everything after that was lost on him, but he’d ended in his own bed so he didn’t try too hard to remember. Groggily propping himself against the wall, he swept his disheveled hair back, before noticing a mark on his palm. With a look of slight disgust, he pushed himself off of his bed and headed for the bathroom to wash up. “Purple” , mumbled Dana as he looked in the mirror, glancing at the smudge resembling a pair of lips on his forehead. ”Fun.” Choosing to overlook the fact that he’d walked around town with brightly colored lipstick clearly displayed on his face, he took a much needed shower. While Dana was one of the lucky ones who rarely suffered from acne, dry skin was a reoccurring problem even in the summer. Dressed in a bathrobe, he began his usual cleansing ritual. He never slacked off when it came to skincare. “And it pays off”, he thought, smiling at his reflection.

In a cheerful mood after taking a shower and Tylenol, Dana hummed as he sent out texts while sipping freshly made oolong tea out of a customized mug .

Genesis:
Genesis. “Killer” (Is that still considered cool? I learned it from a book I bought on slang) party. Didn’t get to tell you this, but I’m sure everyone else already did… You did an amazing job! P. S. Your outfit? Loved it. xoxo

Holden:
Are you feeling that hangover, Jacobs? I don’t know how you can drink so much, but I applaud you. ‘Til next time!

Rosaline:
Morning~ I’m pretty sure I saw someone with long auburn hair who bore a striking resemblance to a beloved friend of mine at the party last night. I’m hurt that you didn’t say hi... nothing will heal my broken heart < / 3

If the benefit of being able to do what he loved as a living wasn’t enough, the mornings after night outs were. He was his own employer, for the most part. His website and advertisements easily brought in enough money to pay rent and basic necessities. For other bills, there were the paid photo shoots he did on occasion. The need to be somewhere early in the morning was essentially nonexistent, which meant he could laze around all day. “That’s not being productive, though” , he scolded himself, but only made a half-hearted attempt to get up from his bed. After a few more minutes of scrolling through comments on his blog, Dana dozed off, phone still in his hand.

Warehouse Party
Noon, Maybe?

Lloyd stirred to the feeling of a phone in his pocket buzzing. Opening his eyes, he found his head was also buzzing. Perhaps the performance had forced him to grab more drinks than he really needed. Sighing in the cold acceptance of the headache that would continue to rage through his head for the rest of the... morning? He raised his head, looking out his window. Luckily he was still able to return home, and clamber into his own bed. The sky was bright, and that's all Lloyd could see. He couldn't determine the time of day, as the window simply seemed to bleed a light that was intent on piercing his eyes and bleed a dull pain into his mind.

Fantastic. Not only had he failed to get a single meaningful conversation underway last night, he had somehow managed to get a hangover in store for later. Lloyd begrudgingly pulled the phone from his pocket, squinting against the artificial light. A new message from Dana. Staring at the contact, Lloyd ran the events through his head. Had he even talked to him? Yes, he had, but had they exchanged numbers? Intrigued, he selected the notification him, bringing him to a line of text messages, the newest reading:

Morning~ I’m pretty sure I saw someone with long auburn hair who bore a striking resemblance to a beloved friend of mine at the party last night. I’m hurt that you didn’t say hi... nothing will heal my broken heart < / 3

Something was off. He turned the phone in his hand.

"What the hell?"

Lloyd had no idea how he had managed to aquire Rose's phone, but somehow, here it was in his hand. Hoping his own phone was somewhere safe, maybe a trash can, or even better, lost in his room, he reasoned it wouldn't be a big loss buying another phone. Well, holding the phone in his hand, he decided he had a few courses of action. He could send Dana a text, playing to be his housemate, or he could simply return the phone to Rose herself.

He already had the messenger open again, attempting to find something to say that might not only match her voice, but also keep himself in some sort of favor. Clearly he couldn't be too direct, but perhaps simplicity was the key. Tea, perhaps later this afternoon, sounded like a good time to rekindle the conversation, and something that might quell his head throbbing.

But after an hour of trying, he simply couldn't do it. Nothing he wrote sounded like her. Groaning in defeat, he pulled himself out of bed, and walked out into the main room, walking on over to Rose's door, rapping his knuckles on the door, calling out.

"Rose, you'll have to invite that Dana fellow over to tea." Then, after a pause, "I'd love to learn more about your 'friend', no ill meanings, I promise."

Then only after his little speech, he pondered the possibility of Rose not even being home. His mind was acting slow today.

Rosaline wasn't one to sleep in late. "Early bird gets the worm!" her cheerful mother would always say, but after last night it was nice to sleep in for a change. She had no appointment, lessons, or rehearsals that day so she decided to simply relax and stare at the ceiling of her bedroom. Her bed was fluffy and her room was messy and colorful, but there was hardly anything else that truly represented her than those two words.
Last night flew by in a whirlwind of dancing and laughter and she smiled at the memory. Of course she didn't drink or anything like that, she just didn't particularly like it, but some definitely did and she found herself giggling at the memory. Even Lloyd seemed to have fun, but of course one never really knew with him. No matter what the man did, whether it was eating or simple chatting you better believe he had an agenda.
The simple thought of Lloyd made her come back to reality and she threw her covers of to use the facilities and brush her teeth. Idle handle and all that, she also needed to practice and she was lucky enough that her roommate liked to hear her playing. She did her hair quickly, scrunching it until it had volume and adding random things in it just because. She decided to stay airy with her wardrobe and accessories and tried her best to be conservative. It never worked of course. Once she was done, she went to check her phone messages and discovered her phone was switched out with Lloyd's!
"Well that's weird!"
She stared in wonder at the plain black case and was perplexed how she could mistake this boring phone for her covered-in-daises one. Just when she was about to go and investigate this mishap she heard a knock on her door.
"Rose, you'll have to invite that Dana fellow over to tea",to which he paused then stated,"I'd love to learn more about your 'friend', no ill meanings, I promise."
And suddenly everything slid into place. She didn't think Lloyd took her phone on purpose, or else she wouldn't have his, but she's not so naive as to believe he didn't have plans for this new "meeting". If nothing it was to at least intel and he should at least expect her to assume such.
As she opened the door to her messy room with the most convincing mothering look she could muster. She grabbed her phone in his awaiting hand and replacing it with his own.
"Shame on you Lloyd Lexington. A girl's phone is private."
She looked through her phone and saw the message from Dana and quickly replied.
To Dana:
"Of course Dear! I'll make us some lunch!Come whenever!"

She turned her attention back to Lloyd and kept her serious look up the best she could while leaning closer to him.
"You're lucky I'm secretly in love with you."
She then proceeded to kiss his cheek and wink before sweeping past him towards the kitchen to make lunch for her best boys."Is salad and sandwiches okay for lunch?", she called to him as she gathered ingredients.

The young adult snoozing in bed stirred half an hour later, hearing the tea kettle whistle loudly, signalling that its contents had been boiled sufficiently. When brewing a cup of tea earlier, Dana’d realized that his supply of drinking water was running low, judging from his nearly empty pitcher. Now, as he turned off the fire and set the kettle aside to cool, there would be enough water for the rest of the day. Ding. Ding. Ding. The familiar sound of new notifications alerted Dana that his phone had slipped off the corner of his bed, where he’d hastily thrown the mobile. Breathing a sigh of relief after double-checking that no damage had been done to the valued possession, he leaned against the door frame and opened the newest message, which was a reply from Holden. I feel the hangover and regret drinking as much as I have. Though he knew he was a terrible person for laughing, Dana couldn’t help letting out a chuckle at his friend’s regret before sifting through other messages. Once business on his phone had been taken care of, he left it on his bedside table to charge since the low-battery mode had automatically been switched on, and sat at his desk.

There isn’t much to be done on this particular Tuesday, mused Dana as he checked his daily organizer which he filled with notes for his blog and additions to his to-do-list. His article of the day had been written the afternoon before, in anticipation for the party that would take up much of his night. As Dana finished adding embellishments to the introduction and wrapped up the conclusion, he copy and pasted what he’d written onto his blog, and clicked the rectangular button labeled “post”. I’m officially done with work for today. Lifting his arms above his head in a stretch, Dana leaned back against his chair, so much so that he nearly fell backwards. Thankfully, he regained his balance by flailing ever so gracefully. That was embarrassing. He laughed at himself. Had he not been alone, he was sure he wouldn't have been the only one laughing. For that, he was grateful that if he had to nearly fall, he at least did it alone. However, as time passed, he began to think that if someone else had been there, he wouldn't have to deal with finding something to do.

Normally, extra time was spent idly by lounging on the couch, or even doing a bit of light cleaning here and there, but it seemed that there truly was nothing on Dana’s agenda for the day. Ding. Well, nothing until now. Dana’s face lit up with a glee as his eyes skimmed the reply to his earlier message to Rosaline. "Of course Dear! I'll make us some lunch!Come whenever!" Happily, his fingers flew across the digital keyboard, sending a new message.

Rosaline:
I’ll be there in… twenty minutes? :)

Dana selected an outfit with greater concentration than necessary, considering that the trip would take less than five minutes and he would mostly be indoors. The difficulty stemmed from an array of clothes on a rack that was actually only a small fraction of his extensive collection. He’d tried to downsize, but couldn’t bring himself to part from even clothes he’d worn only a handful of times. Much to the relief of a friend who’d had enough of his slight hoarding tendencies, the fashion devotee did donate the pieces he hadn’t touched, which took up quite a surprising amount of space at the back of his closet. Nevertheless, when he reached the point at which no more could be stuffed into the built-in wardrobe, Dana resorted to hanging clothes on a recently bought rack.He gave himself a quick once-over before appearing satisfied and locked the door behind him as he made his way up the stairs to the seventh floor.
True to his estimation, Dana arrived at Rosaline’s door in just under twenty minutes from his text. He raised his hand to the door and knocked before stepping back to wait.

"Shame on you Lloyd Lexington. A girl's phone is private."

"Only as private as one allows it to be Rose."

"You're lucky I'm secretly in love with you."

Lloyd rolled his eyes taking on a horribly sarcastic tone. "Oh yeah, can't wait to go waste millions planning weddings with you!" Returning back to his normal tone, "But in all honesty, I can't help but wonder how you managed to get a hold of my phone. And how you resisted the urge to look through it. Typically people of your calibur are dying to know what goes on behind closed doors, --or lock screens, in this case."

Dropping his phone within his pocket, Lloyd walked over to the couch and fell back. The light filtered through the window, kicking his mild hangover back into gear. Twisting around to keep his eyes from the light, he called back over to Rose. "What time is it, noon?"

Lloyd almost wished it was, even though that would mean he had slept in horribly late, he wanted the day over so he could return to the silly little teachers in their dull classrooms full of dimwitted students. While it was hardly anywhere he enjoyed being, he wanted to return to the university so that he could be as far away from the other residents of his apartment building. He hadn't had the chance to speak with that many last night, but the few he did speak with betrayed the small fear he had of all of them being hopelessly boring.

Surely a few of them still had connections, and one or two of those connections might just be in the right places; people he needed to both regain a financial foothold, and deal with a few 'problematic' people.

At the very least, he did have Dana coming over, and while the kid didn't seem remarkable, Lloyd was used to surprises. At least, when it came to unusual people. Looking over at Rose, he knew he had already found one of the strangest people he'd ever meet. And knowing that made every other confrontation with people easier.

A church bell began to ring in the distance.

"Awe hell. Is today Sunday?"
