APPEARANCE
The first thing people tend to notice is the smile Henry usually has plastered on his face, coupled with a strong jawline that is often specked in scruff. He's a fairly tall guy, standing at around 180 cm, with a lean muscular build and messy dark black hair that he's recently cropped short. With chocolate brown eyes, he's an attractive kid that easily stands out of a family of multiracial kids.
STYLE
Henry's style is what he likes to call, "cute trash puppy" often sitting on that unsturdy fence of put together and disaster. Often sporting unkempt hair, his outfits are usually made up of whatever's clean in his closest which usually consists of patterned or graphic t-shirts and dark jeans. Then there's times he goes full balls-to-the-wall mode were he pulls out weird cowboy button-ups, polo or hawaiian shirts; making any urban dad proud. However the times he does care about his looks, that's also a roulette of choices just waiting to happen. Henry sees his style as something to have fun with, so long as he's leaving with smile, he doesn't really care what's on his body.
Truthfully, his lack of concern is probably a concern in itself and leaves him a little reckless. He has a bad habit of either making poor decisions or just being indecisive in general—this explains his terrible guessing on exams and his low GPA. Like an artist with no art form, he's dangerous and serves an ignorant, unconscious fearlessness. For a human, that's an almost idiotic trait yet he wears it like a gold star. But what the kid lacks in reasoning, he makes up for it in his ability to act like he knows what he's doing.
Aside from his seemingly dumb nature, Henry excels in tasks that require any social activity. He can talk up a storm, and finds that his carefree disposition makes talking to others second nature. Whether people like him or not is a matter of personal judgement but he does a decent job molding into the environments presented him. However, this sunny disposition and carefree lifestyle are in fact a coping mechanism for Henry to endure and sometimes escape the rut he seems to be stuck in. He relentlessly chases for excitement, for the rush of dopamine to carry him away from agonizing thoughts that are ready to crush him the moment he stops.
Despite his amicable and sociable attitude, Henry always seems to keep a certain line of emotional distance from others. While Henry isolates himself from getting emotionally invested in others, if you happen to make it into his close bubble (which currently only consists of his family), you're honestly in for a wild ride of something that he's not even sure he's ready for.
✔ Henry can't stand staying indoors for too long, so enjoys taking to the streets and going out whenever an opportunity is presented. When he is stuck at home, his downtime usually consists of practicing music or spending family time with anyone he can manage to bug. His family, especially his brothers are the people that keep him grounded. Because of a general good standing with them, he feels a tender connection to supernaturals than his fellow human, though he's not often around them.
✖ Since he was a kid, there's always a detached identity Henry struggled with, so he actively tries to avoid appearing foreign in unique environments. Quiet rooms makes him feel uncomfortable, and he feels more at ease when attention isn't solely on him in serious situations. In the case with his parents, he finds himself in this situation more often then he'd like, which usually results in a strict rules being set.
STRENGTHS + WEAKNESSES
[ + ] Ironically, Henry is quite
[ - ] Henry is reckless when it comes to interacting with supernaturals, and he often forgets his weak mortality. Because of this, he's irrational and usually can't help but have loose jaw that just doesn't know when to shut up. This causes him to take unnecessary risks, especially when it comes to protecting the people he loves.
FEARS
As much as Henry seems idiotically absent of fear, he has a debilitating phobia of deep water or any large spans of water. Triggered as a child, he tends to stay away from pools although if given enough time he can ease himself into one. Showers and baths are perfectly fine, so anything he can stand is the ideal height.
On part of Thorn Hill Academy opening it's gates to humans, Henry is due to transfer into the fourth year. Although this will be the first year he's attending.
THOUGHTSXONXSUPERNATURALS
“They’re beings often misunderstood by the world, playing as the fallguy for human fear. I think humans are just scared about falling down the food chain, when most supernaturals just want to be part of the world. Isn’t that what we all want?”
Being left in the hands of complete strangers is certainly a unique start, but cherry on top of the pie was the fact the Gardeners weren't human in the slightest. A family of werewolves who lived among humans, cared for them, was met with a challenge Amelia was too excited to pass up. Against the concerns of their family, it was something she eventually convinced her husband of it's potential and they were bound to show that love could extend past blood and mystics. Henry would eventually be proof of that as he quickly became the third addition to their rowdy family of Lycans.
The Gardeners had two other sons, making Henry the youngest of the three. The three of them were inseparable as tykes and he quickly adopted their rowdy, boisterous behaviour. When they were younger, his brothers, including himself, often forget Henry was human which sourly ended in a few broken bones and constant scraps and bruises. To be scolded for it was a common sight, but it rarely stopped any roughhousing.
The family moved around the English country, out of fear, for new job opportunities, for better education for their children and the normalities that came with a family such as there's. Hidden among the supernatural, Henry became accustomed to adapting to new environments, how to hide the fact he was human. However, he often pushed boundaries, which often resorted in his parents to keep a strict curfew and pulling him back from activities his brothers were involved in. As he grew older, the more they grew into their skin, the more he had to be pulled back and secluded.
Education played within that same realm. Henry was almost always separated from his brothers and homeschooled, it was the easiest way to keep an eye on him and to keep him hidden. So, when they moved to the secluded Scottish countryside a few years back, it was the same story. Henry would stay home, and his brothers would go onto attend Thorn Hill Academy for their respectful years. This was no surprise to any of them, but when the academy decided to open its doors to humans, that certainly was. This was an opportunity that Henry couldn't pass up, one where he can finally be among the people that he felt as if he was torn away from all these years.
