Planet: Emerald (Territory).

Planet Description: Vast single continent filled mostly with rainforests, mountains, and deserts. A single massive ocean that surrounds the continent completely.

Date: 15 September 2552

Story: The war between humanity and the Covenant has been raging for over thirty years, with the humans tolling heavy casulties and loss of tactical territories. After losing several strategic locations, the UNSC was forced to reevaluate their tactics and strategy for combating the Covenant. Seeing that creating another team of SPARTAN-IIs was out of the question, the commanders instead created another platoon of the cheaper ODSTs. Inside the platoon, the new Delta squad's fireteam called the "Wolverines" was activated and deployed rapidly to the planet Reach. Due the planet's extreme tactical location, keeping the planet in UNSC hands was a priority.

In the dense mountain ranges and thick forests, the Wolverines proved their worth through guerilla tactics against Covenant supply trails. Eventually, the team was able to infiltrate the Covenant-occupied territory and liberate key locations to gain a foothold against the enemy; allowing the conventional forces begin effective counterattacks against the Elites. However, their efforts to keep Reach from becoming another Covenant victory was in vain which resulted in the planet falling to the Covenant. The team was extracted before the end and returned to the forward base on one of the nearby moons. With morale low, the team's commander was given new orders to deploy to the planet Emerald to assist in countering Covenant forces with SPARTAN-II Red Team.

Rearmed, the team enthusiastic to avenge their fallen comrades, boarded their transport and began their trip to Emerald.
