The city of Batonville is having the worst winter in recorded history with neverending snowfall and temperatures below -15°C. The roads are blocked not allowing traffic in or out of the city and the only way out is by foot, but some are sure to freeze to death on their way. It becomes worse as people turn up dead with neckbites from vampires. These vampires search for blood nightly. The victims either turn up dead or become vampires themselves. But not all vampires are evil as some of them combat their own kind. It is unsure when roads are finally free and the vampires could effectively be combatted. Optimistic estimates count five days while it goes up to three weeks. The situation seems hopeless for some but others have barely any fears. It is just best to survive the winter.

Batonville: A city of 200,000. Old French era building dot the inner city while the rest is mostly apartments and suburbs. It has all a city has to offer. Currently the only ways around the city are by foot, subway or the few working tramlines.

Vampires: There are three kinds of vampires: Masters, minions and masterless. Masters are mostly rather civilized and aristocratic mostly feeding off human cattle and letting their minions do the dirty work for them. They are pure vampires or old vampires. Minions are bound by a master and need to do everything a master commands them to or die. Minions range from like normal people to brutal beasts. The masterless are those causing the most havoc as they are mainly made up of uncivilized beasts only driven by their hunger. Only a few masterless have managed to keep their human qualities and resist the hunger.
