Andrew ran and ran, as if he was trying to out run his ow shadow. He might as well have been. These men had been chasing after him for a while now an Andrew couldn't seem to break free. He only hoped that Erebeth would come to save his butt soon. It was dark outside, and he could hear a storm on it's way to his location. He was covered in his target's blood and some of his own. Someone had nipped his arm with a bullet. It hurt, but it could've been worse. A sudden idea popped into the assassin's head. He needed to find a civilian. His pursuers would not be too stupid as to kill a man in front of a witness.

Andrew forced himself to keep running, no matter how much his muscles protested. He ran onto the street, but unfortunately for him, it was empty. The open was a bad place to be for him, and it would cost him dearly if he did not get out of there quickly. As he ran down the street, he heard a man stop running behind him, meaning he was going to shoot. Andrew didn't get a chance to take cover as the bullet was shot and hit him right in the arm. Andrew suppressed his urge to scream and shout. Andrew fell onto his knees in the street, and lucky for him, he heard a door open. He looked up wearily to see girl there. Andrew looked behind him, and the men were gone. He was lucky. That was the word of he day. Lucky. He was just bathing in luck.

Layla held her head in her hands as she sat up in her bed. Sleeping was of no use now. But staying awake did no good either. Screaming reverberated through her ears as the memory of the same nightmare came to mind, holding a pillow to her face to stifle the small, pained whimper. Her eyes fluttered open as the noise finally died away, leaving a horrible ringing in her head. Maybe some cold water would ease her, she thought as she moved out of bed and headed to the kitchen. As she was downing the last gulp of water, there was a sound that pierced through the silence. Immediately setting down the empty glass, she quickly went to open the door.

Any thoughts of her own emotional turmoil were forgotten as soon as she caught sight of the blood. Layla didn't linger a moment longer standing in her door. Rushing on to the street, she lifted the injured man's arm carefully, settled herself in the space underneath it, and using her free arm and what little strength she had, she began to lead him into her home. "Hang in there," she grunted out, as they finally made it to the living room couch. Gently, she situated his head to stay on level with the rest of his body. Spotting the wound, she grabbed a pillow and elevated the arm above his chest. Leaning above him, she checked to see if he was still breathing, nodding to herself when she confirmed that he was. Ducking into the bathroom, she grabbed all the necessary supplies. When she returned to the living room, she added pressure to the wounded area, trying to stop the bleeding, or slow it if anything. She needed to keep applying pressure for about ten minutes to allow the blood clots to form. "If you're conscious, blink a few times," Layla commanded, still managing a soft, patient tone despite the urgency she was feeling.

Andrew was overwhelmed with pain. So much so that he didn't have the strength to tell the girl to leave him be. He didn't want her dragged into his problems. His breathing was heavy as the girl lead him into the house. Andrew had to make sure he didn't force the girl to carry all of his 200 pound body into the house, so he urged himself to walk if only slightly. When the girl left him on the couch, he instinctively looked around, trying to find any means of escape if something happened.

"If you're conscious, blink a few times," The girl said to him. Andrew made a harsh grunting sound under his breath and looked at the girl.

"I'm fine- ugh...." He forced himself into a sitting position on the couch, but didn't have enough strength to keep himself up straight. Andrew fell backward so he was in a slouched position on the couch. "Just... take the phone in my jacket and turn it on."

"Fine?" Layla quirked a brow. "Losing that much blood isn't what I'd call fine," she muttered under her breath. Hearing him get up, she watched as he tried to set himself upright, and tsked when he fell back down onto the couch. "If you keep trying stuff like that, you're going to lose more blood," she chastized him, almost mother-like. "Now if you don't mind taking some clothes off, I could clean that nasty wound of yours so you don't have to amputate it when it gets infected. Then I'll do as you ask."

Layla left for a cloth, alcohol and a bowl of water. When she returned, she eyed his arm expectantly. "Well? I'll help you take it off if you need it, but if you didn't mind hurrying up...?" she trailed off into a question. "We sort of need to get this done quickly," she said, givng him a sheepish smile. "I mean, unless you want to have one arm for the rest of your life."

Andrew pulled his hood down as the girl ran around the house looking for medical equipment. She was feisty, and didn't seem to be afraid of him, which was strange and bothered him. As she continued to speak and taunt him about his immobility, he made a childish expression of annoyance. No matter how old he looked, he was still mentally naive. He pulled of his jacket and armor reluctantly. Andrew's bare chest was jacked as if he were on steroids, but also held his scars of war that he had collected over the years.

"Do you know how to take out a bullet?" Andrew asked, sort of concerned. He didn't want some girl just poking around on his arm. He might loose the ability to use or something. Andrew was no doctor. He'd never learned about biology or anatomy. The only thing he new was combat and assassination. He looked at the girl, hoping that her mother was a nurse or something so she wouldn't have to say that she didn't even know how to swallow a pill... Though Andrew wished he could have some pain killers, he knew better. Those would dull his senses and impair hi if they decided to attack.

Layla rolled her eyes at his attitude. He was probably five or six years older than her, but she already felt like she was acting as his mother. She began to reconsider putting away the painkillers. Perhaps his pain tolerance wasn't as strong as he himself looked? "Take out a bullet?" She repeated with shock, then waved his anxiousness off. "Believe it or not, you're not the first person coming in here with a gunshot wound," she shrugged nonchalantly. True to her word, she was efficient in retrieving the bullet. She had had her share of injured people. At this point, nothing really surprised her and any nausea that an average person might have gotten surrounded by so much blood and sickness, she had already gotten over quite some time ago.

Grabbing the alcohol, Layla winced. "This stuff burns a lot, just warning you now." With that said, she began to carefully clean his wound, gauging his reaction. She took this time to study his features. At first glance, he seemed very stern, not one you would want to be left alone with. However, spending less than an hour with him, Layla was already sure he wasn't a bad person. Perhaps the scars and the fact he was shot outside of her home was a little more than shady, but she didn't want to write him off just based on appearances. For all she knew, he could've been a teacher. On steroids...? Maybe he got into a lot of fights when he was younger...? She shrugged the ridiculous thoughts away, and concentrated on the task at hand.

Eerebeth slid on her heels, making a sharp turn down an alley, breaking away from her partner. Her long, dirty blonde bangs hung in front of her face, blocking her sight ahead. There was always a downside to things, wasn't there? She sighed a bit and picked up her pace, glancing behind her as she made another turn. Half of the group had followed her, but the other half seemed to have followed Andrew. Grunting, she leaped over a trash can, hearing a loud whack as a bullet hit it. Maybe she should start listening to Andrew more and get herself a gun. But this young woman was more of the traditional killer.

She ducked as another bullet whizzed by. Continuing to run, she pulled her bow off of her back and an arrow. She readied it before twirling in a quick circle and shooting at the closest of her enemies. He gave out a loud yell and fell. A smile grew as she continued to run, panting now. Erebeth had been trained to kill, trained to run, but she was only human. Sooner or later her legs would give out and she'd be dead.

A crack of lightning followed by a roll of thunder sounded nearby. Time was running out. As if that weren't enough for right now, she could hear sirens coming towards her from another direction, as rain began to fall. Soon the streets and sidewalks would be too wet to safely run on. Amadeus tried to judge how close each party was. If she was lucky, her little trick would pay off.

As soon as the next bullet was fired at her, she fell to the ground and screamed as if in pain. Soon enough, the men had been replaced with cops, looking down at a strange young woman on the ground. Once they were close enough to her and not paying attention, she whipped her leg out and spun, making them fall. Pulling out her sickle and chain, she begun to defend herself against the other two cops that had shown up, decapitating one and knocking another unconscious. In the confusion one of the policemen had shot another, leaving enough of a distraction for her to start running again. By now, her legs were in agony and her mind was racing, trying to think of where Andrew might have gone. She quickly turned a corner, heading back to the area where they'd split up.
