Description

ImageName: Elizabeth Mabel Clements-Decker
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Species: Human
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 190lbs
Hair colour: Dark brown
Eye colour: Grey
Skin colour: Fair
Trade/Job: Knight/Sailor

Appearance:
Standing at five feet and five inches in height, Elizabeth is a curvy, muscular woman weighing roughly 190 lbs. Elizabeth has fair skin an a constant smattering of freckles across her cheeks. Her hair is dark brown with highlights from the sun. It is silky straight and comes down to approximately the middle of her back. She usually keeps her hair in boxer braids because she spends a great deal of time training or fighting, and this keeps her hair from getting in the way and allows it to fit nicely beneath helmets and armour. She has a low browline, narrow grey eyes, a relatively undefined nose, and full lips. Elizabeth has an anchor tattoo on the front of her thigh, a sword tattoo behind her right ear, and a large tiger tattoo covering her upper left arm. She has a series of numerals tattooed across her upper chest, just below her collarbone, and has never told anybody what the meaning of these numerals is.

Personality:
The strong, silent type, Elizabeth is an observer first and foremost. She is perceptive and likes to keep an eye on her surroundings at all times, even when she's not in a combat situation. Elizabeth doesn't usually have much to say, but she is one for joking around when she feels comfortable doing so. She is slow to warm up to people, usually being wary of them even when there's no need to be, even after they've proven themselves. When she does warm up to someone, though, she is fiercely loyal - almost to a fault - and protective of them. Elizabeth isn't the best in social situations, and is hot-headed, angering quickly. She tends to get mad first before actually attempting to resolve a matter, and when she's angry, she absolutely has the mouth of a sailor, stringing together all the most colourful words and phrases she can. In fighting, Elizabeth is brash and aggressive. She will take advantage of every opportunity presented to her and likes to overpower her opponents by sheer volume of attacks.

History/Bio:
Elizabeth was born to a single mother who was only seventeen when she had her. Her mother worked as a servant in a noble house, but she left her job and fled after discovering that she had become pregnant by the noble house's middle son, who was five years her senior and more than a little out of her league. She took a job as a bookkeeper in a shipyard for the duration of her pregnancy, helping to keep an organized ledger of ships, goods, and people who came in and out of the shipyard. She took some time off when she had Elizabeth and feared she would be unable to return after being gone for two years, but the shipyard's owner took pity on her and welcomed her back to her job, even going so far as to have his teenage daughter come and look after Elizabeth while her mother was working.Image

As a result, Elizabeth grew up around ships and she became fascinated with them. The sailors who would come in and out of the shipyard were quite taken with the bold little girl, and they were happy to teach her all about the ships while they were docked and her mother was helping to take inventory. She learned quickly, and when she was nine, she told her mother that she wanted to be a sailor. What Elizabeth didn't know at the time was that her mother had become romantically involved with a ship's captain who frequented their shipyard, so the next time he stopped there, her mother asked if he would be willing to take Elizabeth out sailing. He agreed, and Elizabeth took to it like a natural. She started to sail with him frequently when he was docked at the shipyard, and when he got a new ship he even named it The Elizabeth after her.

Elizabeth was fourteen when her mother and the captain got married, and when she was fifteen she asked her new stepfather if she could join him out on the seas. He told her that he would love to take her to work with him as she would make an excellent sailor, but that he wanted her to learn to fight first because pirates were a huge issue out on the open waters. Elizabeth was more than eager to learn, so her mother and stepfather found a place in the city where Elizabeth could learn to fight and, as with sailing, she took to it like a natural. Her teachers were fascinated with how quickly she learned and how well she was doing, and she was deemed ready to go out sailing with her stepfather before her seventeenth birthday came around. She joined her stepfather's crew and was well-loved and respected aboard her namesake ship. She got her anchor tattoo when she was eighteen and sailing with her stepfather.

ImageWhen Elizabeth was nineteen, she and her crew were in port a good ways from home when a couple of men attempted to attack her. She fought them off with ease, drawing the attention of some local guards who'd been passing by and were about to intervene before seeing that Elizabeth had the situation under control. The guards informed Elizabeth that the royal family of that kingdom was looking for new knights and soldiers, and that she should consider joining the royal legion. Elizabeth was quite interested in such an offer, fairly certain that she'd do well in a job like that, so she decided to go for it. It took three years of formal training before Elizabeth was made a knight, and she was one of the youngest female knights in the legion. Her superiors were fascinated with her fighting skill and started using her as a test for new recruits. Elizabeth loved the looks on the faces of the boastful, swaggering young men when they realized they'd just been bested by a woman.

She stayed with the legion for six years, helping to keep the city and the royal family safe and helping to train new recruits. Whenever she had time off, she would use it to sail home and either go sailing with her stepfather or visit with her mother. Her mother wanted grandchildren, but Elizabeth was never ready for romance or a family. She loved her life, she loved her job, and she wasn't interested in getting married or making babies any time soon. One day when Elizabeth came to visit home, she found her mother reading the news and crying. When Elizabeth asked what was wrong, her mother had her sit down and she told her that her biological father had died. Elizabeth had asked about her father when she was a child, but her mother had always been evasive and dismissive about it, always steering the conversation in some other direction to avoid answering. Now, though, her mother told her everything: her biological father was a nobleman whose house her mother had worked in when she was young. She'd had a brief tryst with him when she was a teenager and had become pregnant with Elizabeth, so she'd left. She'd heard nothing of him until that day when she'd seen in the news that Lord Clements, his wife, and one of his two daughters, along with many of their friends and family, had died in a tragic fire at their youngest daughter's birthday party.

Elizabeth realized that if Lord Clements was her father, that meant that the surviving daughter was her half-sister. Realizing that this girl, whose name was Priscilla Clements, was probably lost and alone in the world without any surviving family to speak of, Elizabeth decided that she needed to go find her half-sister and be there for her. She headed home to the kingdom she'd been serving in and she informed them that she needed to take some extended time off due to a family emergency. They were more than willing to give her all the time she needed, saying to come back when she was ready and able and that she would resume her duties as normal. They gave her some parting gifts and wished her luck dealing with her family issues, and then she set out to track down her half-sister.

So begins...

Priscilla was hard at work at her desk when the door to the office opened. She looked up, blinking when a woman with long, dark hair dressed in a casual outfit walked in. Priscilla tilted her head slightly to the side. "Can I help you?" she asked, and the woman gave a polite smile. "My name is Elizabeth Decker. You must be Priscilla?" she asked, and Priscilla nodded. "Yes, I am. Did you have an appointment with Mr. Silverson? I don't see anything here," she said, glancing down at the appointment schedule. Elizabeth shook her head. "No, no, I actually came to see you, not your boss," she said. "I asked after you at your hotel, and they directed me here."

Priscilla blinked, and then her grey eyes suddenly went wide. Was this...was this the woman that she'd been warned about? The one claiming to be her sister? Her mouth fell open slightly, and then her gaze flitted to the staircase. "Right, just give me a second and - Luther? Are you here?" she called out a bit nervously. She wasn't sure whether or not he was in the office at the moment - she'd been too absorbed in her work to notice whether he'd been coming or going, but she sincerely hoped he was in the office to come and have her back for a second.

Luther heard his name being called and walked down before smiling at the girl, "Hello..." He said before looking down at Priscilla. "You called? What can I help you with?" He asked.

Priscilla was relieved when Luther came down, not having been certain whether or not he was here. She looked over at him as he came in, smiling nervously. "Nothing specifically, I just would prefer to have you here right now. James had said he'd be here for me but I wasn't exactly expecting to be at work when this happened," she said, her gaze shifting towards Elizabeth, who blinked. "Oh, I'm sorry... is this a bad time?" she asked, and Priscilla shook her head. "No, no, this shouldn't take long. Look, Lord and Lady Carmichael wrote to me ahead of time to let me know that you were coming here and what you'd told them. I'm very sorry, but I think you have the wrong person," she said, and Elizabeth smiled, shaking her head.

"That's nice of them to let you know. I'm certain I don't have the wrong person, though - you're Priscilla Clements, are you not?" she asked, and Priscilla nodded. "Yes, I am," she replied, and Elizabeth nodded. "You're the daughter of the late Duke Lewis Clements and Duchess Isobel Clements?" she asked. Priscilla tensed somewhat, uncomfortable with how much this woman seemed to know about her, but she nodded. "Yes, those are my parents," she said. Elizabeth smiled and gave a nod. "Then there's no mistake. Duke Lewis Clements was my father, too. I'm your half-sister," she said.

Luther blinked and looked around, "Of course James wouldn't be here at a time like this. Why would my stupid brother be here when he is needed? When is he ever around when you need him?" He grumbled before looking closely. "I can see similarities in both of you..." He said and then looked at Priscilla, "And I know you know what James thinks of noble people so I don't have to repeat myself. Now she looks harmless and this is an awkward situation so... lemme just walk back up to my office and get some work done, yeah?" He smiled and hurried back on up.

Priscilla blinked when Luther said that Elizabeth looked harmless and that he was going to head back to his office. She frowned as he left, and then she looked back over at Elizabeth. "Look, Miss Decker, you seem nice and all but it's just not possible for you to be my sister. My parents would have told me if they had any other children - I'm their first," she said, and Elizabeth shook her head with a smile. "Why don't we sit down? I can explain," she said, walking over and gently putting a hand on Priscilla's back to lead her to the couch. Priscilla frowned, but went with her and sat down.

"Okay, so here's how my mother explained it to me," Elizabeth said. "A long time ago, before your parents were together, she and our father had a brief thing. She was a servant working in the Clements house, and she got scared and left when she found out that she was pregnant. She had me, and I didn't know anything about you or our father or your sister until after my mother found out about the fire," she said, and frowned. "I am so sorry about that, by the way. I can't imagine what you must be going through...which is why I decided to come here to see you. I figured it might be nice to have some family to help you through this, and I wanted to get to know you," she continued.

Priscilla hated that James was right. She hated that she could see in Elizabeth's grey eyes that she was telling the truth, and she hated that this was really the case. Her instinct was to fight it, to insist that Elizabeth couldn't be who she said she was and to send her on her way, but she knew that wasn't the case and she knew she couldn't do that. "Look," Elizabeth said after a moment, "I'm sure this is a lot for you, and I know you should be getting back to your work, but maybe we could do dinner tonight? I'm staying in the hotel over...over that way," she said with a wave of her hand. Priscilla bit her lip slightly, nodding. "I...sure. I guess so," she said. "But you're right. I should get back to my work. You should go. I can meet you in the hotel lobby at seven if that works," she said, and Elizabeth grinned, nodding. "That does work," she said with a nod, and stood up. "I'll see you then," she said before briskly leaving the office.

Priscilla was shaking a bit as she watched Elizabeth leave. How was this possible? Her parents had waited for marriage. Her father shouldn't have been able to have a child if he hadn't slept with anyone until he'd married her mother...but apparently he had? And it had resulted in a baby? How could he possibly be such a hypocrite? Tears were welling up in her grey eyes and she stood up, heading upstairs to see Luther. "Luther," she said, trying very hard not to cry even though she knew he'd probably see right through her, "I know it's still a bit early b-but could I take my l-lunch break now? Th-there's something I need to do."

Luther looked up when Priscilla came up and his facial features softened. "You can take the rest of the day off if you need. There isn't much to do sine a little someone went flying through papers yesterday. Seriously, woman, I don't know how you do it... probably the small fingers... or magic... I am not sure." He smiled softly. "But if you are going to take the day off let me know." He said softly.

Today was market day and that meant Talila and Elsar were behind a table and selling their family's fruits. Talila loved market days. She loved the people and her neighboring sellers, which she usually referred to when they were done shopping at her table. Elsar usually just sat and sang and would lift the crates from and to the cart so it was usually just her really working, most of the time that is how he got tips.

Today she had an iconic dress on and her hair braided to the side. Her mother made a comment that her dress was cute just like her and sent them off. Now she was standing behind her table, under the tent, and started to sway when her brother began to sing. Talia smiled and began singling lightly on the choruses and dance a bit. Elsar smirked as he sung and swayed. Even her neighboring sellers swayed or tapped their feet to the rhythm. His singing had started to draw in a small crowd.

After leaving Priscilla's work, Elizabeth decided to head to the market to grab a few things. She wasn't too keen on living out of a hotel and eating out a lot since the food at restaurants wouldn't likely be the healthiest, so she wanted to get some stuff that she could eat in the hotel. She had picked up a loaf of bread and some butter, and was now wandering towards a table that seemed to be selling fruits, though a small crowd had gathered. They seemed to be listening to the two merchants as they sang together and danced, and even Elizabeth couldn't help but to stop a moment. They were quite the odd pair, a very tall elven man and a very short elven woman, but they were both quite cute and their singing brought a small smile to Elizabeth's face. She said nothing, simply approached the table and started to look over the fruits they had for sale. A fruit bowl in the hotel room would be nice so she'd have some things she could just snack on as needed.

When Talila saw the human girl looking over the fruit she broke away from the singing and her brother to tend to her. "Hello! How can I help you today? Our fruits are juicy and refreshing! You won't be disappointed." She giggled. Talila loved the freckles on the woman's face. Her father always said they were kisses from the sun, but that just made her sad a bit since she never got kissed by the sun, but then her father said that is because her whole skin was one big freckled and that made her giggle all the time.

Elizabeth looked up when the elven girl came over to see what she could do to help her. She certainly was enthusiastic, which Elizabeth could appreciate. Good customer service was always appreciated. She gave the girl a polite smile. "Oh, I'm not looking for anything specific. Just browsing," she replied softly, looking back at the fruits. She had to admit, the girl was quite cute - but young-looking, perhaps even younger than Priscilla. She tensed a bit. Priscilla hadn't seemed too happy to see her. She hadn't been expecting to upset her new younger sister. She'd just wanted to meet her, to give her a family and be there for her. Maybe over dinner she could make things right.

Talila smiled, "Okie dokes, just let me know if you are wanting to buy and I can give you a bag." She said softly and backed away from her so she could look. The woman seemed to have something on her mind, but Talila didn't know the girl from Adam and she wasn't a regular so she couldn't just outright ask if she was okay or anything. Her brother had finished his song and the tips came in plenty. He told them thank you before taking a mini break to get a drink of water. "Man man oh man. The summer is coming." He sighed. Talila looked his way, "Oh yes... which means earlier mornin pickins. Thank goodness for all this rain though... seems like it will rain again today. I am so excited." She giggled.

The old lady selling jams next to her nodded, "Boy... I tell you what... it makes for good times. I got so much done in my house thanks to this rain. Everything is wet so it isn't like I can do much outside." She said and the old man who sold jerky on the other side huffed in agreement. Both were single, their partners passing already and Talila liked to ship the two together a lot. They acted like a married couple anyway and she just couldn't take it. They were too cute to her. "They are great for the trees! It makes the trees so happy. You can just hear them singing after. Such beautiful songs." She giggled and the old folks looked at each other and shook their heads.

Elizabeth nodded when the elven girl told her she'd give her a bag if she was looking to buy. She picked up an apple, turning it over in her hand and taking a look at it. It certainly looked good. She was quiet while the male working there spoke with the girl, and she glanced briefly over when the older people at the other stands chimed in. She set the apple down and then looked over at the girl. "Could I get one of those bags?" she asked with a smile.

Talila looked up and the woman and smiled, "Of course." She giggled and grabbed a burlap back that had their farm stenciled on it and handed it to her. Her mother and younger sister did the bags, sometimes her when it rained and she could go outside or rather when it was lightening and she COULDN'T go because honestly, Talila liked dancing and walking in the rain. Her mother always called said she was happy to have named her after her grandmother who was so intuned to nature that she was just the freest spirit. When she handed the woman her bag Talila leaned in and smiled, "I really like your freckles." She whispered and Elsar sighed. "Cherry, leave people's faces alone." He said and she sighed. "Someone has to tell her, Apple." She replied and he shook his head before going back and sitting down.

Elizabeth smiled and took the bag from the girl when she got it for her, blinking and flushing a bit when the girl leaned in and whispered that she liked her freckles. She glanced over at the boy when he told the girl to leave people's faces alone, and she smiled. "Oh, no, it's fine," she said softly, and looked back at the girl. "Thank you," she said. Cherry and Apple? They were odd names - definitely right on the nose, though, considering they were fruit vendors. She gently picked up the apple she'd been looking at earlier, grabbing a few more and putting them in the bag with it. They were lovely looking apples, and then she grabbed a couple of oranges and put them in as well. Maybe she should buy Priscilla some sort of gift. What might her sister like? She wasn't sure. Maybe it would be better not to buy her a gift for tonight and to just get to know her. Maybe next time she saw her she could give her a gift. She sighed softly, glancing away. She just wanted Priscilla to like her, and she was excited to get to know her a bit better.

Talila smiled, "You are very welcome." She said and backed up and swayed when her brother began to sing again. The woman looked a bit distressed and back in her head and she wondered what the newcomer was wondering about, but again she didn't ask and just stayed in the shadow of the tent. There was a vendor down that sold really good danishes and she was about that life. Her eyes closed and she giggled at the thought of her getting some and eating them.

Elizabeth gathered together a few more fruits, and once she was happy with what she'd selected, she turned her gaze towards the girl working there. "I'll buy these, thanks," she said softly, holding out the bag so the girl could take it and do whatever it was she did with it. She wasn't certain - back home, the fruit vendor simply charged a price based on the weight of the bag, while the fruit vendor in the kingdom where she worked charged different prices for each fruit and they had to be bagged separately.

Talila stopped swaying and opened her eyes to look at the woman. "Oh, good! You are very welcome." She said and gently took the back from her and placed the bag to be weighed. When she got the answer she gave the woman a price and smiled. "You should try Momma Jay's Jams and don't forget Poppa Lee's Jerky. Both are so good! You won't regret it." She giggled. Elsar looked at her and smirked.

Elizabeth smiled as the girl took her bag and weighed it. She waited while the girl got her the price, and then she pulled out some money and handed it over. "I just might have to do that," she said when the girl suggested buying from the older two vendors on either side of the table. She could certainly put some jam on some of the bread she'd bought, and jerky was a nice enough snack from time to time, especially since it wouldn't go bad in her hotel room like real meat would.

Talila couldn't help but smile bigger when she said she just might and she took the money softly from her. "Thank you for buying our fruit! Hope to do business with you again!" She smiled and danced her way to the money bag and danced by her brother while sung and giggled. The woman seemed nice enough so she hoped that business would be a regular thing with her.

Elizabeth enjoyed the bright smile on the elven girl's face. She was quite adorable. She could see why they had her working at the stand. She probably drew in quite a bit of traffic. "Thank you," she said to the girl, and then she stepped to the side to take a look at the jams. She wondered whether her sister liked jam. It seemed so strange to have a sister after being an only child for so long. She had asked her mother before whether she and her stepfather were going to have children, but they'd always said that they were happy with things as they were and that she was all they needed. She'd wanted a brother or sister, but she also didn't want her mother and stepfather to do anything they didn't want to do - but now, she had a sister anyways. She didn't want to mess it up. She picked up a jar of cherry jam and looked towards the old woman, smiling. "I'd like to buy this, please," she said.
