Description

ImageImage

Name: Erorn Swiftblade

Age: 26

Race: Elf

Gender: Male

Occupation: Royal Guard/ Elven Knight

Appearance: Erorn has a pale complexion, accented by average length,fire-red hair. He has blue eyes and in spite of his muscular physique, he's still rather small. He's only about 5'3" and 125 lbs. He hides this under his armor most of the time, as it makes him look larger than he really is. When not in his armor, he likes to wear fashionable clothes.

Personality: Often picked on as a child for being smaller than the other kids, Erorn developed a fiery temper. He tends to be quick to act and slow to think. He's impulsive, but also highly driven to be the best he can be both in fighting and on a moral level.

Background:The fact that he was picked on so much as a child only strengthened his determination to be strong. By the time he was 16 his temper got him forced into the royal army and he quickly worked his through the ranks. However, the other men in the army were just as merciless as the kids he grew up with. As such, he was often left out of important missions or the target of bad pranks and practical jokes. He still doesn't let this get to him as he knows that he wouldn't have gotten into the royal army if he were weak. Soon he was promoted to the Royal Guard specifically tasked with the safety of the royal family.

Erorn followed the directions given to him directly from King Hilyard. He was wearing normal clothes today, the heat was far too high to be using his heavy armor. “I can’t believe he sent me to guard the prince! I’m not a gods damned babysitter!” Erorn cursed as he traveled to the Keavaris Village. He walked down the path from the dragon ranch where he was dropped off. He pulled out a small piece of parchment with directions from the ranch to the places where the Prince was supposed to stop. “Alright, let’s see here. There’s the guy who was making the Queen’s dresses and the guy making the furniture. Or there’s the possibility that he’s back at the hotel. Shit, if I were a stuck-up spoiled, rich brat where would I go?” He snarled sarcastically. “A guide for hire who hunts vermin is not a proper body guard, but no the King was sure there was nothing to worry about. Then he changes his mind half-way into the prince’s vacation. Well I suppose I’ll start at the beginning.” He followed the directions to Elwin’s house to see if the prince was there picking up the dresses. He saw the prince standing in the doorway of the elf’s house talking to him. “Your Highness! Your Highness!” He called out to the prince. “Good, it wasn’t as hard for me to find you as I thought it would be.” He saw the look of confusion on the prince’s face and seeing that he was in normal clothing with a sword at his side, Erorn quickly realized why. “I’m sorry to interrupt, your highness, but the King has sent me to be your body guard for the remainder of your trip. Here’s the paper work.” He handed the prince a rolled up parchment with the official royal seal on it with the orders for Erorn to guard Marcus.

Roshia turned around just as Rowan was walking in. She smiled and leaned in a bit when he kissed her cheek. "Thanks and it was good, got to hear how he suckered this poor woman into falling for him and how Gene came to be. Then I came up with a plan to win Gene over. We at war now... but they are staying for dinner." Daryl raised an eyebrow at her before laughing. "I will fight to the death, Roshia. She is my precious, I can't have her just fall in love with some wicked wo-"

Daryl was interrupted by Gene riding in on Cossie. The dragon didn't seem to mind. "We smell yummy food. Daddy can we stay? Cossie said he wants me to stay for dinner." He whispered back.

Daryl and Roshia laughed, "Well it is you two's lucky day! Roshia has kindly invited us to stay over and eat this yummy food with her and her husband." Gene and Cossie seemed to cheer in unison. Roshia giggled and served the plates while they all sat down.

"So Rowan, tell me about yourself. How did find the Isles and Roshia?" He asked before taking a bite. Roshia and Gene whispered and giggled with each other as the men talked.

Elwin didn't have time to answer when Marcus turned around. At first he saw nothing, but then he looked down to the kid saying he was ordered by his father to guard him. He growled, clearly annoyed. "Now my father is just fucking insulting me. He really sent a damn kid... a fucking kid to protect me. ME." Marcus sighed and turned to Elwin, "I am just going to head back to the kingdom, my father has apparently lost his damn mind. I will get someone to fetch them, so don't be alarmed when a stranger comes knocking and asking for my mother's dresses. Can you tell Nas that I will send someone for the furniture too? Thanks." He turned around and walked passed the two guards and down the to the path that lead out of the village.

Erorn clenched his teeth with all the force of a bear trap as he looked up at the Marcus' agitated face.
"With all due respect, your Highness, I'm only three years younger than yourself, I'm hardly a child." He snarled up at him. "And while I'm aware that my stature can lead to some wildly inaccurate assumptions about my abilities, let me assure you that your father's trust was not misplaced in me." Erorn's tone began to relax slightly. "I'm the highest ranking guard at the palace and prior to that I worked my way through the ranks of the royal army and became one of the highest ranking knights in the kingdom. So I'm more than capable of guarding you for the remainder of your little vacation, your Highness." He turned away and took a few steps before pausing. "And for the record, I'm not thrilled about this either, but I hardly think it warrants cutting your vacation short. Your father has not lost his mind, but he does worry about you and that's why he sent his best guard."

Nothing to see here. Move along, 2719457.

Elwin kept walking until they were by the lake when he turned around. "Look, kid... or whatever your name is, I was sent here three weeks ago by myself. I don't need gramps and the kid to protect me. I am cutting this shit short. It is an insult and a slap in the face from my father." He growled and continued walking. He stopped again, "You said the BEST? If he thinks you are the best we should be training taller and stronger men. I am sure you can swing that sword some kind of way, but you are better as someone's play toy, not as someone's protector." Marcus got back to walking, slamming the inn doors open and going up to his room. He grabbed everything and shoved it into the carriage. "You can either walk or you can get in. We are going back." He watched as the old man climbed in and waited for the small redhead to climb in.

"My name is Erorn, not that you care. Yes I am the best guard your family has, and yes there are plenty of taller and stronger men in the guard ... and I kicked each of their asses." He growled at Marcus. "And quite frankly I couldn't care less if you want to leave early. The less time I have to spend guarding a spoiled shit like yourself, the better. But mark my words, the next time you call me kid, I'm gonna make your ass the new sheath for my sword. Are we clear, your Highness?" He sneered, his hand on the hilt of his sword ready to draw it.

Marcus laughed, he liked the kid's spunk. Marcus walked away from the carriage and leaned into him, "I find you extremely cute when you angry, Erorn, but don't you threaten me with a good time if you can't deliver. Now, get in the damn carriage or you are walking home." He straightened up and walked back to the door waiting for the kid to get in.

Erorn brushed off the empty compliment as just that. It was nothing more than a cheap ploy to distract him from his duties and rile him up further. He wouldn't give that spoiled brat the satisfaction. "Believe me, I'm more than capable of delivering on my threat." He said as he climbed into the carriage. He resolved to focus on his work even harder and to not pay anymore attention to the prince. He kept his eyes out the window as the carriage left the hotel, trying to remain vigilant looking for any sign of trouble or assassins.
"So what's the deal between you and your father? Why are you so pissed at him?" He asked without even turning his head away from the window.

Marcus smirked, watching the kid look at out the window. He had some similar looks to Elwin, but he definitely wasn't Elwin. Going to keep him around. Might have some fun with him while I wait for Elwin to come back to me... No... I have to leave him for now... See if I can get someone to dig up information on this Atlas man. The kid sure would look good in my..

He was snapped out his thoughts when the kid asked about his relationship with his father, "First I want to say I feel honored that you care so much about my relationship with my father. Second, it is royal business. He is a good man... just cares more for the kingdom than his own son... unless it is to send you two to keep me from doing what I need to do. Third, when we get to the castle, stay with me. I want to speak to you privately in my room." Marcus smirked the whole time before looking out the window himself.

"Sorry, I wasn't trying to intrude on royal affairs, I was just really making small talk to pass the time a little faster.I'm sorry if my presence has inconvenienced you or prevented you from accomplishing your tasks. And not to argue, but I would have thought you'd want to be rid of me as soon as possible, might I inquire as to what you need to speak to me about." He asked. Erorn was usually good at reading people, but when he turned to listen to Marcus' response, he couldn't figure out why he was grinning like an idiot.

He couldn't help but to let out a chuckle. "No worries, I just find it funny. Also I will tell you why I need you when we are in the privacy of my own room. You are too temperamental to ever get on the field, Kid." Marcus smirked, teasing him. "I am not much of a small talk kind of person, but for your sake I can try and be. What made you want to be in the Royal Guards? I mean... given your... uhm..." He motioned with his hand at the kid's body. "body."

Marcus really wasn't one for small talk unless it was with his mother. So whatever he just said seemed a little bit harsh, but he was trying for the kid. What more could you ask from him? He is going to hate me before I even get to play with him... He sighed mentally.

"Given that we're in the carriage, I'll let that last 'Kid' slide. That and it didn't seem to be said with any malice." He smiled for the first time since getting to the island. "Well, I was orphaned at a young age and my adopted family was all really tall. I was picked on all the time in school for my height and I was scrawny too. A person can only take so much before they snap. I started getting into shape, getting stronger and the next time some one picked on me, I beat the shit out of them. This kind of thing went on for quite a while and the army just seemed like one more stepping stone to proving myself. I worked my way through the ranks, teaching others not to pick on me along the way, then your father selected me himself for the guard, I never really asked him why." He explained. "But I don't think that my stature has ever really held me back, it's the people who have a problem with it that have tried to hold me back." He couldn't really tell why he was suddenly opening up to the prince, but he was starting to feel a little more relaxed. "I appreciate you listening to me, but if you're not comfortable with talking, it's no big deal."

Marcus sat there and listened to him. He was never really a bully to anyone, maybe Elwin, but he just wanted Elwin to hate him so leaving him would hurt less, but instead Elwin fell even more in love with him and Marcus couldn't say no to him when it was just them too. What would my mother do? Marcus thought for a moment. The kid looked somewhat hurt... broken in a sense, but he also had passion. Marcus leaned in and patted his head a bit before bringing his hand back into his lap. "My father probably saw passion in you, but the old fucker also only has one eye... so he only say half of you. You have to let your anger out in more than just battle." Marcus smirked. "I will teach you how when he get to the castle." Marcus sat back, crossing his legs. He just wanted the kid as a pet, but he had to stop acting so damn emotionally invested. Not like he would really replace Elwin for good.

Erorn let out a chuckle at the joke about the king's vision. "I'm not sure that's how it works. I'm pretty sure he saw all of me, just given my short stature and his lack of depth perception he probably thought I was farther away." He snickered realizing he had just made a short joke. He completely missed the part about teaching him how to let his anger out. He was actually starting to have a good time. He was beginning to realize how easily people were won over by this guy, he knew how to charm someone.

Marcus watched as the kid joked and laughed about. He smirked, Erorn reminded him so much of Elwin. It hurt, but he kept a smirk on his face. His smile is adorable. Ugh, I need to stop. Marcus thought thought about the joke to try and get his mind off of other things and laughed. He was late to it, but it made sense. "I won't tell my father you said that... but that was a good joke. Didn't think you knew what humor was." Marcus shifted in his seat, he really hated the ride from the castle to the islands. It was the longest ride. He looked out the window and groaned. There were still a ways away.

The kid was lucky they weren't alone. He rubbed his face and leaned his head back. "You have a lady back home?" He asked randomly. If had to fight for the kid like he had to with Elwin, Marcus was going to flip his shit.

"I'm actually not such an angry guy if I don't have to be, but I do have a short fuse, I'll give you that. Sadly, that same short fuse has made my social life ... awkward." He frowned slightly thinking about it. "I have my guard up all the time, so it's hard for me to let others in easily. Usually it comes across as me pushing them away. That and my line of work also puts me in a lot of danger, no one wants to date a guy if there's a chance he might not come home at the end of the night. So, no I don't have a lady back home, I don't have anyone back home." He said as it was clear this was not his favorite subject.

This kid's whole fucking life is a sad ass story. Marcus mentally groaned and he looked down at the kid. "Do you have... like I don't know... happy hobbies?" He leaned his elbows on his knees and his head on his palm. He stared at the kid. I bet his lips are so soft... Elwin's wa- no.. no don't you fucking think about him. Focus on Erorn. His eyes are a gorgeous blue... wonder what his facial expression would be if I... Marcus snapped out of it and looked down at his shoes. Not here, Marcus. Not here. Maybe I shouldn't make him my pet. Just add it to his fucking list of sad ass stories. God forbid he has anymore. He thought about Erorn going home to an empty house and him being alone in bed. It depressed him.

Erorn thought about this for a second. "Well, I love to cook. It's not really a hobby, more like a necessity, but I'm good at it and I make some really good food." He thought for another couple seconds. "I also like to go hunting and fishing, that sort of thing. What do you enjoy doing when you aren't being forced to do all that royal duty stuff?" He smiled again thinking about the fun stuff he enjoyed. He even briefly pictured himself cooking and going out camping with the prince. Why the hell am I thinking of him THAT way? Sure he's cute and all, but ...NO he's the fucking prince!

Marcus was snapped out of his own mind, "How is your skin so... anyway I don't. I mean... I got to taverns... I might go hunting every now and again. I read... maybe. For the past couple years I have been throwing myself into work." He sure in the hell didn't want to tell him why. Marcus leaned in, thinking he wanted to have some fun, "You sure seem like you like getting to know me." He looked into the kid's eyes. Marcus was flirting, he knew he would, but when flirted everything was out of the window. He was like a animal going after his prey. He was in for the kill.

Holy shit, is he flirting? He's looking so intently. Just play it cool, he can't possibly be flirting. He's the prince and you're a guard. He stared back into Marcus' chocolate brown eyes. "Well, to be honest, at first I thought you were just a stuck-up, snooty, shallow, selfish royal brat, but I figured it wasn't fair to judge you so harshly without getting to know you first. This long ride to the castle provided a perfect opportunity to talk to you and get to know you a little better, since your father will probably have me guard you more often now that you're getting home early." He grinned with a hint of flirtatious excitement in his voice. "But from what I've seen so far, it seems there's more beneath your surface than you care to share. Which I figure means you're trying to hide something, or worse you think that people want you to be the person I assumed you were." He leaned in looking up at his chin just inches away and ran a finger down Marcus' exposed arm. He grinned devilishly as he saw goosebumps pop up as he did. Two can play this game, but gods help me if I'm wrong. "So which is it?"

Marcus smiled at first, he was being called a brat, but then the kid ran a finger down his arm and he laugh. "Woah there, what are you doing. Didn't know you swung that way." He gently grabbed Erorn's hand and placed it back in his lap. "I won't judge you, but you have to forgive me if I lead you on. I told you I don't do small talk. I just come off as... well flirtaious, maybe. I don't know, but I am sorry if you thought I was going after you or something. You didn't seem like the... promiscuous type of person." He scooted back from him and laughed. Marcus was in his element now. He did this all the time with Elwin, which he wasn't proud of now, but he didn't want to do this in front of the other guy in the carriage and he certainly would rather be in a little more open space.

"I have no idea what you are talking about when you say there is more to me or that you think I act a certain way because that is what people want me to act. I do what I want and what I please." Marcus laughed again, at the attempt from him to flirt.

Erorn wasn't buying Marcus' act, but he understood the reasoning behind it. He had forgotten about the other person in the carriage as well, so he decided to play along for now.
"I'm sorry your Highness, I didn't intend to offend you. It's clear now that there is nothing more to you than what is on the surface." He said with a little bit of a glare up into Marcus' eyes.
"As for the direction in which I swing, let's just say I swing in the direction that I'm pushed. A direction that will henceforth be away from your Highness I can assure you. There's no need to worry, it won't happen again." He smiled with a bit of triumph. He knew the prince was faking, so why not insult him a little with his own words. This was beginning to become a new challenge for Erorn and he never turned down a challenge or let one defeat him.

Marcus smirked and shook his head. The kid sure knew how to play the game, but he wasn't done with the boy. If only he knew. Marcus stayed quiet for the rest of the ride. He thought about Elwin and the last kiss they had. The way his lips were so soft. He thought about what he was going to do now. The plan for him to stay away was over, no thanks to his stupid father. Marcus got a taste of his weakness and now he couldn't live without it. He was going to have to get rid of Atlas somehow, but he needed to information on him first.

They arrived in front of the castle and the driver opened the door for them. Marcus let everyone out before getting out himself. He dismissed the older man and told the kid to follow him. They walked into the hallway that lead to the throne room, where he was sure that his father was in. He was starting to get pissed again, he turned around to Erorn. "Stay here and don't leave, I still want to talk to you in private."

Erorn did as instructed as Marcus went into the throne room to talk to his father. He wasn't sure what was going to happen and he still wasn't sure what the real reason was about why he was so angry with his father. He thought back to the carriage ride while he was gone. What the fuck were you doing back there?! You've never acted like this before, you've always been able to control your impulses. "Yeah and look where that's gotten me. Sad and alone, but hey at least I have my pride and honor." he answered his thoughts in a mocking, yet muffled tone.
You're playing with fire and you know it. Do you really think he cares about you? No to him you're just a secret play thing for his amusement. He'll use you then throw you away when he's done with you.
"Yeah, well maybe I want to be used at least once in my life. Gods know I've never gotten past a first date with anyone, maybe it's better if I'm with someone who doesn't care." He suddenly realized how weird his conversation with himself would look if someone were to walk in on him. He didn't want the prince to walk in and see him arguing like that with nobody else around, so he quickly shut up and went to guarding the hall.
