Misha Breslin's Story

Blair rubbed the back of his head again. "Er..I meant as in a friend who's a girl, not an actual girlfriend. I'm pretty sure she likes men..." He said, trying to recover. He guessed she was like Adrian was, where they take everything for the literal meaning of things.
"Oh well, either way, be sure to say Hi to her some time, she'd enjoy meeting you." He said with a smile. He noticed the way Lorelei would only look at Adrian when his back was turned, something was clearly going on there. He'd find out eventually.




Adrian noticed that Lorelei seemed to like the green candies the best. He'd have to get some for her lab. Adrian watched her roll away and almost fall off. Adrian looked like his soul would leave his body as she almost slid off the chair. Once she regained her balance he let out a sigh and plopped his head on his desk. Both Misha and Blair laughed at him.




Ofelia giggled and then realized twins run in their family. "Ohh no I better just be having one. I'd look super funny being this little and carrying twins, i'd look like a belly with arms and legs. At leas you're tall enough that you still look super cute carrying twins!" She said with a tiny laugh. Rowan groaned. "I'll keep refusing till you hit full term, cant have under baked babies, no no. I wont have it. Thank you very much." He said crossing his arms.

Lorelei turned around and looked at them while they laughed and then looked at Adrian whose head on his desk. She was confused and thought they were laughing at her, but she just shrugged and sucked on her candy. She stared at Blair a bit and blinked, "Why did you pick this job, Mr. Blair?" She was slightly interested.




Roshia laughed. "Now I wondered how my mom looked with her two sets of twins. Rowan, babe... you are supposed to be on my side." She said and then looked over Ofelia, "Your baby is going to be the cutest thing. All our babies will be... Forrest is cute too. Ugh children are just so damn cute. I love them. You need to meet Gene. She is the sweetest thing and is on a mission to get Rowan to share me with her daddy." She laughed.

Blair thought about things for a second. "Well Someones gotta catch the bad guys, I guess. I work violent crimes and sex crimes as well. So i get to work a lot of different cases, keeps things from getting stale. Keeps me on my feet, I like it a lot. As for why a detective..Hmm..I guess I was just always good at uncovering secrets, so it seemed like a good choice. And I get to hang out with these two weirdo's too, so thats a plus" He said with a shrug and a smile. He really enjoyed the crew at the coroners office. They were an interesting bunch. "So what is it that you do, Miss Lorelei?" He asked, curious about her as well.



Adrian picked his head up off the desk and listened to Blair explain why he chose the job he did. Adrian had asked that question once before too, but got a slightly different answer. Adrian thought about why he did the job he did. He didnt really know. He guessed it was because he was good at it. Truth be told he was kind of indifferent about his job, but it helped Blair catch killers, so he didnt mind it.



Ofelia blinked a little. "Well i dont really know Forrest or Gene, but i'm sure they are cute. Forrest is..Atlas' son right?" She asked. She didnt really know Atlas too well. "She wants Rowan to share you!? Oh geeze! Poor Rowan! I'll definitely have to meet this little girl some time, she sounds like the greatest kid ever." She said with a giggle. Rowan just crossed his arms and shook his head.

Lorelei listened as she spun around in her chair and stopped when he asked her the same question. "I am a doctor back at the village. I make medicine and create new ones. Right now I am working with dragon scales... I should bring you that lotion since you are a cop..." She looked him up and down quickly before going back to spinning in her chair.



Roshia rubbed her stomach, "You need to get out more, Ofelia... Gene was the one Rowan lost. Now I am a little worried leaving Rowan with my children. Going to have Cossie look over everyone when I am gone, he is a good draggo." She said just as the dragon walked in and sniffed Ofelia before flopping at her feet.

"Ah, I'm just a detective, I'm not the one who chases the bad guys down typically. Unless they run when I try to catch them. Its cool that you're a doctor though, I couldnt do that kind of work. I get kinda squeamish sometimes. " He said with a chuckle. "YOu work with dragon scales huh? I met the dragon lady a few days ago, its nice that she lets you use the scales. She's kinda intimidating though, to think such a small lady is able to control dragons that easily is mildly frightening." He said with a kind of nervous chuckle.



Adrian perked up for a second. "I still havent met her officially. Everyone says she's scary though. She didnt look scary when I saw her at her wedding though.." He said rather plainly. "What were you doing at her wedding?" Blair asked, knowing Adrian wasnt the type to go to things like that. "She married Lorelei's older brother. Lorelei invited me so she didnt have to suffer through it alone." Adrian said, popping another caramel into his mouth. "Ah, that sounds..Fun?" Blair said seeming a little confused.




Ofelia laughed a little. "Nasir says that too. But i'm only good with dragons, people, not so much." She said, lighting up when Cossie came into the room and plopped down at her feet. "Ohhh I remember you. You're so big now! You used to be so little Cossie! I remember when you hatched, you were such a lazy baby." She said, sitting on the floor and scratching Cossie's belly. "Wait...Rowan lost a kid? Remind me not to let him babysit. Like...Ever.." She said giggling.



Rowan sighed and shook his head. "I only lost her because she ran off. She was like you when you were little. Your dad lost you at least once a day because you just had to be running around" He said with a chuckle.

Lorelei stopped spinning and wobbled over to Adrian's desk, looking at him. "I think Blair is in the same boat as us about the whole marriage thing. He doesn't get it." She turned to him, leaning on the desk to keep balance. "Mr. Blair are you singe? No kids..." She looked him over, "Yeah he doesn't have kids..." She made a mental not and then looked at Misha..."Yeah he really doesn't have kids. You can tell when you look at him and Misha..." Lorelei yawned and looked over at Adrian, "Can I go back to the crematorium?"



Roshia looked at both of them, "I was always in the woods and my dad could easily find me... so... unless it was that one time I followed him into the woods and he almost shot me because he thought I was an animal. I never seen him so mad... until later when I fought him over Elwin... and won... ugh father. I haven't gotten to hunt with him in forever." She said before tearing up.

Blair was going to answer but Lorelei seemed to have most of it figured out. "I get the point of Marriage. I'll get there eventually. I just gotta find the right girl first. I still have plenty of time to do that though." He said with his hands on his hips, looking quite smug with himself. Misha just chuckled.



Adrian had nodded when Lorelei said Blair seemed to be in the same boat as they were. Blair said he wasnt though, that he was gonna get married when he found the right girl. "It might be easier if you'd stay with one woman for more than three weeks at a time Blair." Adrian said pretty plainly. Misha chuckled whole heartedly at Adrians accidental burn. Blair just shot Adrian a playful glare. Adrian looked over at Lorelei when she talked about going back to the crematory. "No, i'd rather you didnt get heat stroke from being in there too much. Besides, its empty by now. Theyre likely done for the day, theyll be getting ready to put out the fire by now" He staring over at her as she leaned on his desk.



"Oh, my father never took me hunting. He used to go with your dad though some times. I used to be a baby about animals though, so it was probably best I didnt go with. Its a good thing i'm not like that anymore" She said with a sigh as she rubbed Roshia's back when she teared up.



Rowan kissed Roshia's temple and pulled her into a hug. "Its okay, you can go as soon as you have the babies and your dad is back, I'll get Ofelia to help me watch the kiddo's and you can go hunting with him again okay?" He said, smiling down at her. "And just think, one day you can teach one of the kids to hunt with you too! But i'm keeping one and teaching her to fish. I need a fishing buddy damnit!" He said with a chuckle.

Lorelei sighed. "I would still be in there is that man didn't wake me." She thought about the warmth in the room. "Mr. Blair is just looking for options I guess... Though at this rate it looks like he won't be able to have a mate and reproduce. Which is a shame." Lorelei walked over to Misha, "How did you get your wife? Does she love that you cry a lot? Or did she make you this way?"



Roshia looked at both of them and laughed, "Ofelia is going to have a mini her or Nasir... I heard Nasir was a good kid, so if this one is a bit on the bad side we know how he or she gets it from. " She smiled, "That's okay... I have the joys of them either being a worry wart like Rowan. Ofelia ugh... Elwin... we are going to get Elwin to make your clothes. I'm going to die. Help... I am dying right now." She fanned herself and the babies began to move.

Blair shook his head at the words coming out of Lorelei's mouth. She didnt seem to get the concept of dating. "Nah i still have plenty of time for all of that nonsense, i'm only twenty four." He said in protest. "And you dont have to call me Mister Blair, just Blair is fine, We're friends now anyways right?" He said with a smile. "Well anyways, I've gotta go clock out for the day, It was nice meeting you. Be sure to stop by again some time." He said before waving at everyone and disappearing down the hall.



"Oh well i met my wife when I was you and Adrians age. I was like this when we met, I guess thats what she fell in love with. She never was one for the strong silent type. We've been married twenty four years now and we have three kids. Well and Adrian, but he insists on being independent for whatever reason. So I guess I did something right somewhere along the line to make her want to stay." He said with a hearty chuckle.



"I would have come to get you eventually. Cant have you passing out from heatstroke..." Adrian said when Misha was done talking. He didnt comment on the being independent thing. He wasnt Misha's son, so why act like he was, even if he had known him since he was young.



Ofelia giggled a little bit, Roshia was all over the place right now. "I would imagine he was a good kid. I hope ours is like him. For his sake anyways. I used to terrify my dad daily with the trouble i'd get into! And if it was like me theyd be likely to have a thing for heights, and I scare Nasir enough with my thing with heights." She said with a giggle. "Oh that would be nice, I still dont really know Elwin very well, I probably should get to know him though, as he's my brother in law and all" She said with a nervous laugh.

Lorelei thought about a younger and emotional Misha and a small smile crept onto her face. She remember when she first met him and though about home. "Your poor wife, Misha." She said, making a normal joke. Then she blinked and looked at Adrian. She bent down and stared at him, the way she did that first day they met. Her heart was racing, but she kept her composure. "I bet you Misha cried on their wedding night."



Roshia clapped her hands, "Ohh I will have my babies by the time you start showing. They already have enough clothes to last forever. I might even have some that you could have that would have never been worn. But you... for you... you need clothes and you will make me have baby fever. Oh... that isn't good." She looked at Rowan, "You should go on a fishing trip during that time... for my sake." She smiled, patting his hand, before going back to Ofelia. "Elwin is a sweetheart, maybe we can visit som-" She was interrupted by Gene busting through the door and running with a drawing in hand and she plopped it on the table before here before looking up at Ofelia.

"I like your face drawings... and your hair. I am Gene! This is my Rosie." She giggled. Roshia looked at the drawing and it was of her holding her father and Rowan's hand and Gene was standing next to her.

"This is lovely!" Roshia giggled. Daryl came running in.

"I am so sorry. She is so fast. How can little people run so fast?" He was trying to catch his breath.



Elwin was in his shop with Ollie, making her dresses and joking on how Atlas would look good in dresses too. Ollie smiled and patted his head. "If he heard you we would all die." They had grown a bit closer during the month. She let him help her when needed and if she wasn't feeling well she would tell him. Lorelei was looking after her and it seemed like she was doing better than Roshia was at the time.

"You have such lovely hair, I am glad you are growing your hair out. It really suits you." He gently tugged it and she laughed. "My family loved my long hair and when I cut it, it was my dad who cried."

Adrian thought about it for a second. He didnt look Lorelei in the eyes when she stared at him because it always made him nervous when he did. And he was afraid he'd try to kiss her again if he did. He looked back at Misha and nodded. "Yeah I bet he did. He cried when I was on time for work the other day. So he probably sobbed on his wedding night. " He said and then looked down at a candy wrapper on his desk. He balled it up and chucked in into a little wire trashcan a few feet away, but it hit the rim and bounced out of it. Adrian sighed in defeat and put his head back on the desk.



Misha chuckled and nodded. "I did indeed sob. I sobbed when my children were born too." He said, seeming proud that he had children to cry about. "Maybe one day, when you're older, you two will understand." He said with a chuckle, knowing it was unlikely for either of them to really understand an emotion that strong. Adrian might have been able to, if he would stop shutting them off all the time, but he wasnt sure about Lorelei yet.



Ofelia giggled about Roshia getting baby fever so soon after she had her own children. And that she thought Rowan would have to go on a fishing trip so that they wouldnt have more kids so soon. Roshia was interrupted by the cutest little girl running in and slamming a drawing down. It looked like Roshia holding Rowan and some other mans hand with Gene next to Roshia. The little girl started talking to Ofelia about her "face drawings" and her hair. "Oh, well thank you. You have very pretty hair too!" She said, bending down to Genes level. Her father came running in a few moments later talking about how fast she was. Ofelia giggled. "I guess I'll have to take up running to keep up" She said with a small sigh.



Rowan laughed at Roshia saying he'd need to take a fishing trip, and the Gene came running in with a picture. He chuckled and waved hello at her while she was talking to Ofelia. "See? I told you she's fast Roshia. Daryl agrees with me. Oh, by the way Gene, you left something over here i've been meaning to have you take home." He walked into the bedroom and came back with the pressed flowers she had made in the summer. "I'm pretty sure theyre done by now" He said handing her the book they were in.

She patted his head softly and turned away. "I wonder if me missing out on these emotions of yours is a good thing now that I see you... and then there is my sister... she cries for everything too now." She said before going over and picking up Adrian's balled up paper and placed it in the trash can. She wanted to ask Misha something, but not when Adrian was in the room. So she took Misha's sleeve and walked to the break room and was happy no one was there. "Misha... I have a question or two. So you know how I love the crematory room? Part of it is because of the warmth... but I like being with them before they finally go, like they aren't truly alone." She didn't look up at him. Instead she looked down and tugged at her sweater, "And... the night of the wedding I was forced to dance with Adrian, which was okay, but my chest had began to hurt. Then when we at the end of the island, where it drops off... when he kissed me... I was... I don't know, but my heart was racing and it was hard to breath. But what really boggles my mind is... I was looking down at at the blackness and I wanted to fall in. To be wrapped up in it, kind of like what I think happens to those in here." She was shocked to feel tears go down her cheek. She had no idea why she would be crying.



Roshia laughed at Rowan and Daryl, "She just wants to have fun... and Forrest wants to escape." She held her hand over her mouth and she laughed more. Gene told Ofelia thank you and rubbed Roshia's belly.

"Daddy said you will have your babies soon! Two babies! How are two going to come out?! You and Row could each have one so you don't have to fight over her. I am so excited. Daddy says you are go-" Daryl covered her mouth and laughed. "Ahh yeah... I am sorry for her interrupting you all. Gene what do you say to Rowan?" He moved his hand and she smiled big.

"Thank you, Row! I really enjoyed pressing flowers with your. You will be a good daddy. The twinsies are going to have lots of fun with you. Nice to meet you Rosie's friend!" She giggled and ran out. Daryl apologized again and went chasing after her.



Elwin and Ollie laughed. "You got caught, El." Elwin looked at Atlas scared before chuckling. "So things are okay at the other cafe? I was a bit worried." He said before putting the last pin in.

Ollie and Atlas still wasn't close. Atlas just kind of accepted her being there and carrying Elwin's child. She knew he care for her, but she didn't let Elwin know. He was pretty dense when it came to them two. "The baby is fine. Though I have to drink this god awful tea for a few more months, just in case." Elwin laughed at her face and she stuck out her tongue at him.

Adrian stayed with his head down for a minute, and when he looked up, Misha and Lorelei were gone. He wondered why they decided to leave. He got up and wandered the halls for a second, getting to the break room just in time to hear everything Lorelei said. He stayed near the door where they couldnt see him, not wanting to interupt. Adrian didnt know what to do knowing that he mad Lorelei feel that way. He hated it, feeling like it was his fault. He peeked in just in time to see Lorelei crying. Adrians mind went darker than it had been in a while and he walked past the break room and out the door. He didnt want to be around Lorelei knowing that he made her feel that way. He didnt stay long enough to hear Misha's reply, instead just walking out. He passed Blair on the way out who tried to talk to him, but he was so numb to everything that he didnt even hear him.




Misha was a little confused about why Lorelei didnt want to talk in front of Adrian, but he went along with her anyways. He listened to her speak and it soon became clear why she wanted to talk alone. He was glad she felt he was someone she could talk to, and he understood what she was talking about, how she was feeling. He was surprised to hear that Adrian had kissed her though. "Well Lorelei, wanting to disappear into the darkness and identifying with the dead are signs of depression. A strong sadness that takes hold of you and makes you feel that way. Unfortunately it probably stems from the lack of emotions you feel. Adrian gets that way too. THe best thing you can do is to let yourself feel more. The new emotions will block out the depression, you'll feel happier..." He said as he got her some tissues. "But i've got some questions for you too. How do you feel about Adrian? Really think about that. I cant tell you why he kissed you, the boys been backwards for a long time, I cant tell you why he does things. You two just need to let yourselves feel things. You wont end up like me I promise, but you wont feel so lifeless anymore. " He said, hoping it would answer at least part of her questions. He definitely needed to have a talk with Adrian too.



Ofelia giggled and said goodbye to Gene as she ran out the door. "AHhhhh shes so cute! I cant wait till you have yours. And then i'll have mine and then I have to convince Nasir that we dont really need twenty six children. I cant. I already feel like im gonna die today, and I know its only going to get worse...I'm not doing it twenty plus times" She said with a sigh and shaking her head.

Lorelei had only seen the word once in a book that Adrian had brought to her, but she didn't read on it. She gently took the tissues and wiped her eye. Then he asked her about how she felt about Adrian. "I like being around him. When he didn't come for those few days... it was real lonely. I like how he doesn't think I am weird and that he gets my jokes. He has really pretty eyes and... I don't know the words to how I feel, Misha. I just know I feel something." She hugged herself to keep from shaking.



Roshia blinked, "I think you two should have twenty six children... or at least half. Rowan refuses to go over four, but if I am like my mom and produce twins, single, then twins... or just all sets of twins." She cried. "Not twins again... I get so big and I cry so much. If you start showing early... like at four months... or sooner. You might be having twins. Or a really big baby. I don't know which on is worse. Aww you could have two Ofelias or Two Nasirs. Ollie is pregnant... maybe she will have twins! Everyone is pregnant. Rowan. Oh my god... Lorelei better not be." She looked worried for a moment.

Misha thought for a moment, trying to find the words to say to her. "Well just let yourself feel that way then. Adrian wont think of you any differently if you feel that way. Just let yourself feel, you wont feel like you do right now if you do, the depression comes from pushing all your emotions down and storing them away. And if you need to again, you know where to find me if you need someone to talk to. I'll always listen." He said and patted her on the shoulder reassuringly. "We better get back before Adrian notices we're gone." He said and turned to the door. Blair walked in as he did. "Is Adrian still in his lab?" Misha asked. Blair shook his head. "Nah, boss. He left for the night, i guess. I tried to talk to him but he wasnt hearing any of it again, must have gotten stuck in his own head again. Wouldnt look at me either, just kept walking." He said with a shrug. Misha sighed heavily.




"No! You have twenty six children. It started as a joke about having fourteen kids but the number keeps growing!" She said with a giggle. Roshia counted all the people who were pregnant, there sure were a lot of pregnant women this year. Then she said something about Lorelei and how she better not be. "Oh yeah! Didnt she have a boyfriend or something? They danced at the wedding together right? And theyre always together too. Neither of them seems like the type to fool around though..." She said trying to remember what Adrian was like. But then again she hadnt ever actually heard him speak..



"Oh the one kid? I dont know if theyre technically dating but they do seem to spend most of the day together. Sometimes I catch him heading towards the village when i'm coming home from work. We take the same road but he doesnt seem like the type to socialize....But I have seen him leave her lab in the morning, so ....Lets just hope she's not..." He said with a sigh.

Lorelei looked up at Misha, "Do you know where he went? Maybe it is my fault... I am going to go home, okay?" She walked out of the room, without looking at Blair, and walked out the building before heading home.



Roshia about died. "Oh god... oh... oh..." She held her belly. She felt a pain her lower belly. "D-Do we have any more of that tea? This is.. a different pain..." She tried breathing through it. Roshia gripped the table with one while the other held her belly.

Rowan immediately set some water to boil and then helped Roshia walk to the couch and sit down. He made the tea and handed it to her as soon as it was done. "Do you think we need to take you over to Lors?" He asked, looking completely panicked. He got up and made a second batch of the tea just in case they needed it.



Ofelia didnt know what to do. She knew what it was like to have pains that made her nearly double over like Roshia was and she wanted to ask if it was the same as she had felt. But she couldnt tell them that she had been pregnant before. All she could do is worry for now. She took over making the tea and sent Rowan back to be with Roshia while they waited to see if the tea would help.



Adrian wantered around for a little bit, his mind foggy. He wished he hadnt gone to the wedding, wished he could stop feeling the way he did when Lorelei was near him. He felt like he was ruining whatever friendship they had by feeling that way. By the time he had snapped out of it he realized he was at the end of the bridge on the path towards the village. He stood there for a while, wondering why he always ended up back there, why it was one of the few places he felt completely comfortable being.

Lorelei thought about it for a moment before shaking her head no. "If I have some more I know who to turn to. You are very wise in the subject." She smiled and walked off to find Misha. She found him in the lounge with Blair and she decided to have fun with the both of them since Elise helped her out a bit. "So... when Adrian comes back... how would I get him to be intimate with me?" She blushed, "I mean... when I put his hand up my shirt he nearly threw me, but... I like it. His hand was warm." She played with her braid and looked up at the two men.

Elise went back to work soon after Lorelei left, figuring she was going to find Misha.

Misha and Blair were in the conference room talking about a case for a while and had hit a quiet lull when Lorelei came walking in. Misha lit up immediately and opened his mouth to say hello when the words that were coming out of Lorelei's mouth nearly stopped his heart. Blair was so shocked too that the half a donut he was munching away on fell out of his hands and hit the floor. The bothe stared in silence for a moment before misha just burst into tears and couched into a ball on the floor. Blair came out of his shock and shook his head. "I'm so sorry Lorelei, but the boy is a lost cause. I tried my best with him, I did. But he just doesnt get it...."He said pinching the bridge of his nose. "Also that Illegal until you turn eighteen because Adrians a legal adult, and you're still currently considered an adolescent. And as a result the city doesnt deem you fit to consent to that sort of thing. I'd have to arrest Adrian if i found out you two had relations. Dont make me arrest Adrian please! I'll ignore the shirt thing, since you did that on your own...I dont know why you would, you're too young for that stuff, and I'm sure Adrian whipped his hand back in the blink of an eye." Blair said, shaking his head at all of it. Misha continued to cry in the corner. "They grow up too fast!" He sniffled.

Lorelei walked over and patted Misha. "It is okay, the hand thing was true, but the rest is not. You cry so much." She giggled and hugged him, before turning around and glaring at him with a smirk. "What should be illegal is your taste in girls. I know who you went on a date with. Ivie, right? The girl looks younger than me." She walked up closer to him, "You seem to like the younger looking ones, creepy." She smiled and turned back to Misha. "I need some obstetrician books. I have one pregnant woman who has very active babies. Her body is trying to get ready for labor, but she is only seven months. Another was a rape victim, it was pretty bad. It was around ten years ago. She has scars and her cervices was a bit messed up. She was pregnant as a result of the rape, but miscarried around 8 months. I have both women taking it easy, but the one with the scars worry me a bit, her cervices is what worries me and is it begins to open up I wouldn't know what to do and she might lose the baby again. Also those scars, they are healed pretty nicely, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were to open." She said, returning back to her old self.
