Penelo Keavaris's Story

The sun doesn’t get the chance to wake up first when it comes to Filarion and his daughter Roshia. Both are up a good bit before it does and have a special routine they like to do. Each like to stretch, look over the house, and make breakfast. Though for Filarion he likes to check on the rest of the children that live there and makes a bigger breakfast. Roshia makes enough for herself and maybe her two brothers, Nasir and Elwin, though Nasir only comes when Ameria is home by the time Nasir decides to leave his home early enough.

The next to wake up is Penelo and Ameria. Both ladies have a quick meal before they are out the door. They go down to the dock and mediate, something they have been doing since America was a child. Next is everyone else, though Nasir usually is up, but just lays in bed staring at the ceiling wondering what the hell he is doing with his life and if he will be remembered if he left this world. Dark thoughts for such a solitude man.

Now all the family is up and it is time for them to begin the day.

(We are going to be doing a short time skip as bizarre 1 is no longer active and I can not reach them)

Ofelia waited until river had finished up with the foreign man's needs and then reserved her customers a room for the requested dates. She said thank you and bowed to both river and the man she had just met and bid them farewell. She then began her rather long walk back to he dragon ranch to tend to the small dragons and hatchlings​.

When Ofelia arrived in the dragon nursery she found that one of the young dragons had completely destroyed her table and chairs. She sighed deeply and scooped the culprit up. " I guess it's time for you to join the adolescents..You little trouble maker!" Ofelia chuckled slightly at the goat sized dragon she was carrying. She took him out to the pasture he kept the adolescent dragons in, and after checking for aggressive behavior from any of them, she shut the gate and began walking the property line between her farm and the neighboring families land. " I suppose I will have to order a new set of chairs and a table soon.." she shook her head.

Ofelia continued to walk the property line, looking for any dragons that might have crossed into her neighbor's land, as it had happened before and was not a pleasant deal.

Ofelia walked along singing to herself an old elvish song her father had taught her. Few people had heard Ofelia sing, but she had a sweet calming tone. Ofelia's mother was known for her beautiful singing, and her voice was one of the few things Ofelia had inherited from her.

She walked along until she heard some rustling, and then, the sound of someone chopping wood. Ofelia peeked around some trees to find a man from the neighboring family, cutting down a thick tree. She paused for a moment and looked him over. 'Must be Nasir? I had heard he makes beautiful furniture..I haven't seen him since we were both small. He looks well.' She thought to herself. She hesitated to call out to him at first. Their fathers had not been on great terms since the dragon disaster that had happened when they were young. But, Ofelia thought it might be time to forget that and work together once again.

She stepped forward, into plain view, careful not to cross the property line. "Hello? You're Nasir, right? Do you remember me? I'm Ofelia Taryn..." She spoke out stepping further into the sunlight as she did. The sun glimmered off of her pale blonde hair as she bowed slightly to the man. "It's nice to see you again...Would you be interested in building something for me? I have heard wonderful things about your work." She stated as she stood up straight, her face slightly flushed. She wasn't used to talking to men alone, let alone asking anyone for anything. She found herself a tad nervous as she waited for a reply.

Elwin looked up at Atlas when he spoke, "No offense taken. She was actually... friendlier than she has ever been with people, especially with people around me." He laughed. "But she is hiding something, I can feel it. That is probably why she got rid of us so fast." They walked towards the front of the village where his parent's house was. It was quiet except for the two talking and the sounds of wildlife. The lights were on when they arrived, which was a good thing for them. He was happy that Atlas hadn't come for no reason, though he had a basket of fresh eggs to take home.

Elwin knocked on the door. He could hear Agis screaming someone was here and Beluar telling him to use his quiet voice and that they were right there. A familiar laugh weaved in among the chaos, his mother's. His father was the one to answer the door, "Oh Elwin, what a nice surprise and you brought a friend, come in." He stepped aside and let the two in. Agis creeped up to see what was going on, but his younger sister and brother weren't bothered once they saw who was here.

His mother came up, "Oh dear, who is this lovely man? Hi I am Penelo. This here is my husband, Filarion and those three over there is Beluar, Lorelei, and Agis." She pointed to everyone, including herself.

Elwin stood there a little awkward, "This is Atlas, he owns a really nice cafe in the city and was wondering if he could talk business with father."

His father looked the man over, "Of course, let's sit at the table and discuss." He said before walking to the table and sitting. Elwin following and sitting himself.

Atlas felt nervous upon reaching Elwin's parents home. He could hear children inside a woman laughing and managed to calm his nerves. The woman of the home, who Atlas had guessed was Elwins mother, introduced everyone. Then Elwin introduced Atlas. "I's a pleasure to meet you all, pardon me for the sudden intrusion." He said, he saw a young boy peering at him and gave him a smile and a small wave. Atlas followed Elwin to the table and took a seat. "Elwin tells me that you grow fresh produce and raise livestock, I was wondering if could strike up a deal? Currently I get my produce from a source off of Veritas Isle, and by the time it gets here I have to throw out what is broken, bruised up, or no longer fresh, so basically by the time it gets to me half of what ive paid for is pretty much garbage. But now that i know that your family is here I hoping that I could buy the produce needed for the cafe from you. I'll haul it to the cafe myself of course and on top of the payment received for the produce I would like to throw in a discount for anything in the cafe, for the entire family." Atlas explained. He seriously hoped they could settle on an agreement, as he always strives to only use the freshest and most local ingredients he could, and now he would finally have the chance to.

Elwin blushed and showed him to the room which was on the other side of the house, away from his own. "You have a cat? That's cute. I haven't really had pets, mostly because I am not good with them" He opened the door to a clean guest bedroom. "Here you go. I... I am glad I got to meet you. You are the nicest guy I have met. I will be gone for a few, I have to go next door. If you need anything... just holler out the door." He laughed softly. He said his good night and walked out, heading towards Roshia's.

The light was still on at Roshia's. He looked in her windows and saw no one so he took the time to go in. He heard laughter coming from her room, he recognized her's but couldn't figure out the other's till they started talking. Elwin stood there for a moment before rushing through the door. Roshia and Nasir were in bed, talking like they were husband and wife. "What the hell is going on?!" Elwin was screaming, though he didn't mean to.

Roshia hurried out the bed, they both were dressed. "It isn't what it looks like..."

"I told you this what going to happen. This is..." He was freaking out. Nasir got up and walked over.

"Let's calm down and just talk about this." He said trying to calm everyone down.

"Calm down? You...you both did..." Elwin was looking back and forth from her to Nasir.

Roshia was beginning to cry. "Get out out, Elwin. NOW!" She yelled, but left instead.

Nasir stayed inside as Elwin followed. "This is disgusting. You have to stop this. You can come back. I was trying to save you from this. I saw the signs... I brought Atlas here for you. I can still save you!"

Roshia turned toward him, "Saving?! The only person who ever needed saving was you. Leave me alone...NOW." She turned back to leave when Elwin grabbed her arm to stay. She turned around swinging her fist and hitting Elwin straight in the mouth. He flew back, falling on his butt. "You are so damn unappreciative. Did I ONCE say that you liking guys was DISGUSTING? No, I accepted you with no questions asked. I fought countless people for you! I stood up to father who I adore! Yet you come in MY HOUSE and JUDGE ME."

Elwin was crying now, holding his bloody mouth. She bent down to his eye level, "You are no longer my brother. I want nothing to do with you."

"R-Roshia...no..." He mumbled through tears and pain. Their mother came rushing out. Elwin and Roshia were both crying now.

"What is going on. Elwin why are you bleeding? Roshia what is going on?"

Roshia looked at her mother, anger reading all over her face, "I lost my twin tonight. He is dead." Was all she said before she ran off. Elwin cried out for her.

Elwin got to Atlas and smiled, "All done, you ready to go in?" He knocked on the door and his mother answered.

"Elwin! It is great to see you and you brought your friend again." She gave him a wink and let him in. They walked in. "What brings you two here? Missed me already?" She joked.

"We brought cake for you all." He said.

"CAKE!" Agis yelled from his room. The sound of feet hitting the floor echoed and he ran into the kitchen.

"Calm down, boy. Bel and my husbands are in the fields and won't be back for sometime, but they will be so happy to have cake when they get back. Thank you so much." His mother said.

"Its good to see you again, Mrs. Keavaris" Atlas said as he greeted the woman and entered the home. He chuckled as Agis yelled about cake and ran into the kitchen. "Yes, cake! Are you ready?" Atlas asked Agis as he set the cakes out in their boxes on the table. He counted them out, making sure he had all of them. "Yup, theyre all here. Theres a few different flavors, so just pick whatever you like, the boxes have the flavors written on top. Oh and I brought the list for your husband" Atlas said to Elwins mother.

Elwin looked at Atlas, "I can put that in his study and mom can let him know when he gets back." He said as he got the list from Atlas and left to go to his father's office and placing it on his desk before returning. "Well we wanted to deliver the cake. I will show him around." Everyone said their goodbye, Agis tried to with a mouthful of cake and the walked out the door.

Atlas stopped Elwin before they walked too far from the house by grabbing his hand and stopping. "Elwin, I'd love to stay and get shown around, but I have to go back and open the cafe, I'm already a little late, which is fine since no one that lives in the city is up this early...But I really should be going. I had fun with you this morning, we gotta do that again soon. Next time we can do something of your choosing okay?" Atlas smiled then flashed quite the evil smirk before pecking Elwin on the cheek before stepping away. "You better come visit me at the cafe!" He said as he flashed a huge grin at Elwin before he turned and jogged away down the path leading up to the city. He ran back to the cafe and opened everything up, ready for the day ahead of him.

Atlas had been busy all morning packing up and decorating different cookies and other small treats and pre-making any syrups he needed for drinks for the festival. Atlas wouldnt be working the booth though, he had planned on going to the Festival with Elwin, who he had been spending a lot more time with in the past few weeks. He finished packing things up and writing out a list for his store manager to look over before loading up A large paper bag with treats that he had made to bring Elwins family at the village when he planned on surprising Elwin with a visit, and coffee of course. He took the treats and walked down to the village with them, knocking on Elwins parents door first to deliver the cookies and say hello to everyone since it had been about a week since he had been able to visit due to a busy week at the Cafe preparing for the festival.

Elwin took his coffee with delight. "Ohh, coffee. I needed this like you wouldn't believe. I am going to have to pay you later." He took a sip and smirked up at him. "I look forward to spending the day with you there. Just... expect stares. People aren't as friendly as I would like them to be." He said softly.

His mother open the door, "Today is just full of surprises! Come in come in." She ushered them in. "What brings you two love birds here? I actually welcome you all with open arms. It has been real busy. Everyone is out and about. Just me here..."

"Ahh i wouldnt worry about it, let them stare. Theyll wake up dazed and confused on the ground if they try anything physical." Atlas said. "Its nice to see you again Mrs. Keavaris" Atlas said with a smile. "I brought treats for the family, cookies for the kiddos and chocolate truffles for the adults." He said as he walked in and set the treats down at the table. "How has everyone been?" He asked once he had gotten the boxes of goodies out.

Elwin looked him over. "Handsome and protective. I like that." He teased before his mother answered the door. They walked in and took a seat.

"You spoil us too much! Thank you, thank you. We really do love your baking. As for us," She had started working on making tea, "We have been working like crazy. Some of us so much we got sick." Elwin looked up, "Is it Lorelei? I am sure that me and Roshia can pick up some of her load. She doesn't need to be straining herself."

His mother waved a dismissive hand as she set the kettle on the stove and sat down, "Oh no, your father and I made sure she didn't have a load on her. It is Roshia, seems she has come down with a small flu of some sorts." Just then the door opened and Roshia walked in. She froze for a moment, "Ahh, I didn't mean to break up the conversation. I just need to speak with mom real quick."

Elwin got up and walked up to her, "I hope you feel better. If you need anything just ask." She looked at him weird. "Uhm, thanks." She said before going into her father's office.

Her mother got up, "Excuse me boys, we will be just a minute." She followed her daughter into the room and closed the door.

"Mother, I need you to keep me being pregnant a secret, but it seems you are already covering for me. Thanks." She whispered.

"Of course, dear. I wouldn't want to start anything with anyone. It is your business. May I ask who the father is?" She smiled, holding her daughter's hands.

"His name is Rowan Todd." She whispered. Her mother's eyes grew wide. In all honestly she didn't know if it was his or not, but it was the story she was sticking to. "I needed to cool off from what happened and I went to the tavern by the lake. He was there and... well yeah. He is a sweet man, mother. We... uhm we are getting married the day after the festival it will be by the lake. We want everyone to think we got pregnant after and that the baby came a few weeks early." She was in tears again and her mother held her.

"There there, child. I will tell your father and the rest of the family about the wedding and keep quiet about the pregnancy. I am so happy for you, my sweet Roshia." She laughed softly through her tears before fixing her face and drying it.

"Let me give you back to the boys, okay." Her mother nodded and they walked out. She stopped by the door and looked back, "Elwin, if you are staying the night here can you stop by my house please? I would like to talk to you."

Elwin's face lit up, "Of course." She nodded to the rest of the group before heading out to her house.

Atlas sat quietly and listened as Elwins mother spoke. He looked towards the door and offered a small wave to Roshia when she walked in. He and Elwin exchanged looks when she rushed to speak to her mother, though Atlas didnt feel like prying into the matter, as it was none of his business. He made a small game of tickling Elwin when he let his gaurd down, while they waited for Roshia and Penelo to return. He stopped when Roshia walked back into the room. Tickling Elwins side once more after Roshia had left, then looked away as if he was innocent.

Elwin giggled, trying not to be to loud, "Stop you, you going to make me choke on my delicious coffee." He laughed playfully swatting at his hand, but he was worried about Roshia. She did indeed look sick, but there was something more to it. He could feel something in their twin bond, thought it was faint. She was hiding something. When she came out and asked that he come to her house to talk he was excited. He hadn't been over since he left her the cake. She never talked about it or thanked him. It hurt, but he expected it.

"Sorry about that, where were we? Hmm, what are you two doing for the festivals?"

Atlas laughed and tickled Elwin one more time before his mother, Penelo, spoke. "We'll I took the day off so I can got to the Festival with Elwin, but i'm not too sure about what we'll be doing since I normally work at the festivals main square and I havent really gotten to see what else it there since the booth gets flooded so much...So it will kind of be up to Elwin to show me what they have. But personally...Im excited about the games" Atlas said as he sipped his own coffee. "As far as after the fireworks im not sure whats gonna happen since im gonna have to check on the Cafes booth and help shut it down" He said next

Elwin held his hand, laughing "Now you are in trouble, I am going to have to hold your hand, tis tis.." He looked towards his mother as she spoke then to Elwin. He nodded in agreement.

"Ah yes, the festival is a good thing to experience from outside the booth. I remember long ago when we ran a booth, we were lucky to have a good one where the fireworks were near, but after my first set of twins were born I out my foot down. I wanted to spend the time with my family. So my husband took on the booth and hired helping hands." She laughed, "Oh! I almost forgot. Roshia is getting married the after the festival. Maybe that is why she wanted to talk to you after Atlas has left."

"Wait, what? When did this happen and to who?!" Elwin was confused, he knew for a fact it wasn't their brother because Nasir told him that she wanted to break it off and that he was talking to Ofelia, but he didn't know who she was seeing. His mother smiled brightly, "Rowan Todd, the mayor's son."

"Well hot damn, I wonder how she snagged him... and so quickly. Oh I can't wait, though I don't know if I could make a wedding dress that fast. Unless we ransack Ameria's closet. Girl knows she has more wedding like dresses than one woman should have." He laughed. His mother gave him an, excuse-me look before smiling and fixing herself some tea.

Atlas' eyes got big when there was talk of Roshia getting married. And to the mayors son at least. "And I had been hearing that he turns down women left and right, Its all the women our age talk about. He's a nice man, comes in the cafe for business as well as for coffee. They seem like theyd go well together. Thats an awful short time frame to plan a wedding though, took months to plan my sisters, I hope they can get everything arranged in time." Atlas said. "Oh! Let your sister know she wont need to worry about a cake, I'll take care of that for her as a wedding gift." Atlas said. Just let me know tomorrow what kind of flavors she would like. I guess I should be going now, I'm sure Roshia is waiting to talk to you. I'll show up with breakfast tomorrow so be ready" Atlas said. He kissed Elwins cheek and said goodbye to Penelo before exiting the house and heading back to the Cafe to check on things there.

She glared at him, but smiled when her mother popped in. "Atlas, did I just hear you call her your sister? Are you going to propose to Elwin?! And my daughter is back. Today is just so happy." Ameria giggled and gave her mother a hug. "Yes mother, I am back. Just for a short period, unfortunately. A little birdy told me someone was going to be getting married and I couldn't miss that, not for some silly plant. And then there pest that has made its way into town and I fear it may harm someone I love dearly. So best get to it and stomp that out real quick.."

"But you are hear and we can catch up. Oh a pest problem? They are just horrible. Your father, Roshia, Nasir, and Bel had to fight them things recently. Hope you get done with that soon so it doesn't hurt anyone." She patted her hand, smiling at the both of them.
