Luther flipped through some of his journals and made calculations before getting up and going out. He saw Barynn eating and smiled at her before gently patting her head. "I am ready whenever you are. You can out the dishes in the sink and I will be waiting for you outside." He leaned down and kissed the top of her head before walking outside.

Barynn smiled up at Luther as he came in, giggling a bit when he came and patted her head. She nodded slightly. "I'll meet you out there," she replied, and once he was gone, she finished eating as quickly as she could. For once, she did as he asked and left the dishes in the sink instead of cleaning them herself, and then she hurried outside to meet him with a grin on her face.

Luther went to his room and sat in his closet after he closed it. He was a low, he could feel it. He also knew what he was thinking should shouldn't happen, but he was alone. Luther missed his brother and Erorn... even Jerold... he was so fucking stupid. He knew better than to get into a relationship with anyone... it never worked out. He could go back to drinking, that always helped, but he couldn't control himself when intoxicated. Luther could lose himself in women and men, but he couldn't do that to Barynn. So he did something else that was stupid and contacted Erorn. Luther hesitated, wondering if it even still worked. H-Hey... He thought.

Erorn was in his room, singing as he liked to do while James was off in the office taking care of some last minute paperwork before they left to go to the island. He suddenly heard Luther's voice in his head, though just barely over the music and given the way they hadn't used it in so long.

Hey... Uh is something wrong? Is Garnet okay? What's going on?

It was such a shock that he had heard from Luther that he had to sit down to focus. The way things had been left he honestly didn't expect to ever hear Luther in his head unless there was something wrong and he needed their attention quickly. And as such he jumped right to that conclusion when he heard Luther's thoughts in his mind. It was yet another time he wished he could read his emotions like James could.

Luther blinked, one because that mind thing still worked, and two because he never thought about using this to contact them if there was something wrong with Garnet. It was honestly the smartest thing to do and he hadn't even thought about it. Now what does he say? Hey just wanted to see if it still worked because I possibly fucked up my relationship with my new girlfriend. Heh you know the usual dumb shit?

I was just seeing if this thing was still working, just in case Garnet goes into labor or something. But she is doing okay. You can tell James she is doing fine, the baby is nice and healthy, and the doctor expects and easy delivery. Oh and that if he has any names he likes to give it to her now so she can think over them.

He lies about the first part, but he had been meaning to write that damn letter to James for a bit now but he was so wrapped up in Barynn.

I honestly don't know about any names, I think he mentioned something but I can't for the life of me remember it and he's doing some paperwork right now. But yeah it is a good idea to use this if anything happens. I... didn't think I'd ever get to hear you like this again after what you said when you left. For what it's worth, we both miss you. I understand your reasons for leaving, but I hope you understand my reasons for staying.

Erorn realized he was rambling a little but there was so much still that he wanted to say to Luther, but he either couldn't or knew he shouldn't. He wanted to beg Luther to come back, he wanted to find a way to hug him through this mental connection, but he couldn't do anything he wanted to do aside from "talk".

Luther couldn't deny now that he missed his brother and Erorn, somewhat. It wasn't easy for him cutting of ties with them and it still wasn't. His thoughts of jumping off the damn island had been coming back and right now it seemed like a good thing, but instead he stayed in his closet and talked with Erorn.

Yeah... didn't think I would have to ever use it again. I miss... you guys too. It was very hard to understand, but I guess I had to face the facts at some point. How is James taking the set backs? I know he was suppose to be here by now. Has he been calm and cool or has he lost it? Be truthful. The house for you two are all set up. I just hope he understands that Uncle Q will be up his ass for a good bit. So don't get jealous.

He laughed out loud at the joke and leaned his head back on the wall.

So... uh... how has your uncle been?

It had been a while and James never talked about him in the letters.

Yeah he's been anxious to see Garnet, and he's thrilled to be a father. I can't tell you how excited he was when he got the letter telling him that he'd be able to see his child. I think he might have been upset that he had to wait longer, but right now he wouldn't do anything to jeopardize things with anyone. And I look forward to meeting this Uncle Q. Erorn chuckled a little.

As far as Uncle Jerry, we haven't heard from him since he left, not sure that we will either. I know he really cared about you, but ... Erorn didn't finish the thought, it was pointless to drag up the past and make things worse.

How are you doing? Erorn felt like a teenage kid as he forced small talk trying to avoid getting into things that were too deep, trying to just keep him talking. He didn't realize how much he missed Luther until now and didn't realize he was crying either until he felt the tears rolling down his cheeks.

Luther was glad to hear that James had done okay with the setbacks. It was something of importance and he passed. He smiled and looked down at his hands before that smile faded away when Erorn said that no one had heard for Jerold. Luther knew he was an idiot to blame him for the things that happen, he was just so angry at James. Then Erorn asked how he was doing and he didn't even know where to start.

I am glad he did okay, looking forward to you two moving up here. James would be shocked to know Rylie is in love with some little farmer boy here. Yeah... I know I fucked u with Jerold. I wish I could tell him I am sorry and that he wasn't to blame for any of this and how much I was an idiot.

Luther got silent for a while before sighing.

Uhh... well I was doing good.

He stopped again for a moment.

I was doing charity work, helping the homeless, doing well... and then this girl came around and... I fucked up, Erorn.

Luther allowed himself to cry, for once. He was tired of fucking relationships up. Then he realized that James was doing well after he cut ties off with him and wondered if he was the bad guy.

Erorn's tears began to flow more when he heard Luther's confession.

Luther I understand why you said and did what you did and there's no point in rehashing it. I still love you and I know your brother does too. We all fucked up in that situation not just you. Now tell me what happened with you and this girl. I don't know if I can help you, but I'll listen.

Same here.

He couldn't say it back, just in case Erorn got the wrong idea. He didn't love him romantically, more like a friend. Luther had moved on, he had to for his sake, or at least he tried to anyway.

About the girl... well... for a while I didn't think I deserved her. She had such a passion to reach her dreams and I didn't want to see that die because she didn't have enough money to make it out here. So I gave her a place to stay and eat... I payed for most of her shop, all of her materials, and stuff like display case. Anyway some assholes broke into her store and if I wasn't there it wouldn't have ended well for her. Then I did what I do best and had to take control. I made her get a damn guard dragon, she could have told me no, but she didn't. Then I got annoyed because this twenty-three year old woman didn't even know to fucking feed it or that you had to walk a dragon. And I get that she came from underground and that she was raised differently, but... I mean... she only wants to work and whatever the fuck I give her. Out of the whole time we have been dating she has only asked about me once. Sometimes I think she is only with me because I pay for shit and I would attract more customers and it pisses me off... I don't even know what I was doing with her in the first place. I think about why I liked her. She is gorgeous, yeah, she had passion which... I haven't for a long time. Then I am over here trying to take her fucking virginity because she doesn't want kids, which I do, and I was talked out of using protection, plus... you know how I get when I do start up and I didn't want that with her... not yet. The more I got to know her the more I realize... we can't meet up equally in the relationship because she does nothing but focus on her work. So I have to let her go so she could focus on that more and to see if she was just using me for my money.

He had rambled on and felt so damn bad. He probably gave poor Erorn a headache and now he was feeling worse.

Erorn let out a little bit of a sigh.

We always come back to this one issue with both you and James. Communicate! You need to talk to her and tell her about your concerns. Hopefully you didn't get her knocked up, I'm already gonna be a step-daddy, I'm not sure I need to be an uncle too. But seriously, I know you'll find the right person for you, just be patient, honest and for the love of gods learn to communicate. I know you were used to James being able to feel the things you felt, but you have to get used to showing your feelings to other people. If she really cares about you and not just your money, you're gonna have to find some common ground. If not it's probably for the best that you're figuring this out now before you get in too deep. He felt more like he was lecturing Luther than giving him advice. But in the end he really did want Luther to be happy, though a small part of him was dying inside that he wasn't going to be happy with him and James.

Luther smiled a bit as he lectured him. He liked that about Erorn. He laughed a bit through his tears and shook his head.

I didn't knock her up. She is all intact and ready.. like a present. But seriously I know... I just started to realize that she might be a gold digger. I was going to talk to her tonight but her douche of a brother came over. Fucked up everything. But... can I call you Papa Erorn?

He smirked, there was something funny in Erorn becoming a father too. It seemed like he was the childish Barynn so many months ago. Erorn had grown up.

Or are you momma Erorn... naahh you are def gonna be the papa. James has a momma vibe to him.

He joked.

So what are you going to do with your mansion?

Are you sneaking into my dreams or something? I had a really sweet one the other night where James' son called me that. Kinda funny that you would want to call me that, but to be honest I like the sound of it. It feels right. Erorn chuckled internally.

But his son called James Daddy in the dream so I think Garnet is still going to be Momma. I think I was a little jealous, though, that was what I used to call James. I hadn't really thought of what I was going to do with the mansion. I think I'm just going to keep it locked up and use it as storage for now, maybe have some of James' men stay in it so no one tries to break into it. What's the house like that we're gonna be moving into?

Luther blinked and smiled.

Oh you dreaming of James' baby huh? Someone is getting all excited. I bet you got that mothers glow.

He laughed because when Erorn would stand in the sunlight he glowed.

I just thought about how you glow in the sun... that damn hair of yours. How you hadn't gotten kidnapped before us is a miracle. But you should have some people stay in it. Like you said so no one tries to break in. Hmm your new house.... It is spacious a bit, not like your home now. There are three bedrooms and two baths and it is on the outskirts of town by the bridge. Perfect walking distance to Garnet but far enough where she doesn't really have to worry. She is still a bit scared of him running off with the baby, but I have a feeling James wouldn't do that.

Erorn smiled as Luther joked

Well you know how I get when I'm angry, the only reason you guys were able to kidnap me in the first place is because James knocked me out. Erorn laughed.

Sounds like a nice place, It'll be nice to be close to some people I know. I don't think James has it in him to kidnap his baby. He really has become a better man. He says that I made him better, but I know it was all him. I think the child involved made things real for him and forced him to look at who he was. He had to become someone he could live with and someone who was good enough for the child he was bringing into the world. I don't know how much better he is without being placed in a situation where he would act that way again.

Luther laughed, they had watched Erorn and Marcus for a while. It was true, they had to find a moment when he was off guard to get him.

Ahh yeah... those were the good times. He joked.

Well maybe it was our connection that made him like that. I might have pushed off my feelings and shit onto him without even knowing and if that is the case I feel like utter shit because then Garnet would have never had to be... force to be a mother. He heard a door slam downstairs and Rylie screaming for him to come down.

I have to go. I feel like Rylie fucked something up. Kid hasn't been this pissed in a long time. I will let you and James know how things are going with Garnet when I get updates. Also if you could get James to chug out those names for me... that would be lovely. See you soon, Erorn.

Luther went back down stairs and saw Rylie pacing back and forth. "What's wrong?" He asked.

Rylie looked up at, "so I went the fuck off on your stupid gold digger girlfriend and got beaten with a wooden spoon by Pene. But you seriously can't date her anymore. All she is doing is taking your money, Luther. Then she does this shit... she's not good for you." He said.

Luther glared down at him, "Why the fuck did you... I told you to just give her that message not fucking blow up." He said, his hands were shaken.

"She needed to get her head out of her ass. You sure in the hell wasn't going to do it so I did." He said. "Find you a decent woman, not some gold digging whore." He said before walking out and leaving Luther there to have a full blown panic attack. He walked out of the house too and went walking to his spot by the edge of the island and just let the cold hair hit him till he calmed down.

After stopping briefly at the shop to check in with Istrain, to make sure he knew that she was safe and that she was headed to speak with Luther, Barynn went to Luther's house. Part of her was dreading it. She was afraid that Rylie would be there, she was afraid that Luther wouldn't want to speak with her, and she was afraid that she was heading on a fool's errand. Still, she had clothing there to pick up, so even if Luther refused to speak with her, or even if it went badly, she could at least fall back on picking up her clothes so that the visit wouldn't have been a waste. Her instinct was to head to the entrance that would take her to the tower room, but there was no point in that when she wanted first and foremost to talk with Luther. So, instead, she headed to the front door. She couldn't decide whether to knock or whether to just walk in, but given the situation, she figured that knocking was best. So, she lifted up her hand and knocked on the door. Longrus sat calmly beside her. He was surprisingly relaxed given the whole situation, though it was a relief to her that she didn't have to calm down both herself and her dragon.

Luther had been sitting on the edge of the island for a while. If he jumped it would all end. He had made a will a ways back for everything to go to Rylie since Rylie didn't have any family and he wanted to make sure he had more than enough to live on and a house to have. He wanted to, even got close to doing so, but then he chickened out and he hated himself a bit more for being so weak. He got up an started walking right before the rain started to pour. A sigh escaped his lips, the feeling of being done with everything washed over him with the rain.

When he got into the house the sound of knocking came from upstairs and he raised an eyebrow. Luther made his way up the stairs and to his room when he saw Barynn. He didn't really feel like speaking to her, but at the same time he really did. Luther cleared his throat, "Can I help you?" He asked softly.

Barynn turned around when she heard Luther's voice. She hadn't heard him coming up behind her. She bit her lip slightly when she saw him soaking wet. She'd reached the house right before the rain had started, and having been sheltered from the rain by the porch overhang, she was perfectly dry. Her heart was pounding in her chest. Why was it that he seemed even more attractive now that she feared she couldn't have him? "Um...I spoke to Rylie. Or, well, he spoke to me. Apparently I'm supposed to get my shit and get out? I was hoping to talk first, though," she responded softly. She hoped those weren't the words Luther had chosen and that they were just Rylie's angry exaggeration.

Luther reached over her and opened the door to his room before gently pushing her inside and walked in. "I didn't say that so harshly though. Just to get your things and well... leave." He said and dug in his drawers for some clothes before looking at her. "You can talk. I will listen." He said and disappeared in his bathroom to dry off and change. Luther really actually wanted to know what she wanted to talk about since everything. It was clear on her face what she thought, but hearing her actually say something has his interest peaked.

Barynn followed him inside quietly, relieved by his comment about not having said it so harshly. Still, though, the fact that he wanted her to take her things and leave was troubling. She hung her head slightly when he left to change, still mulling over the words in her head. "I wanted to say I'm sorry," she said. "I know you've had a lot on your mind and I haven't exactly made things easy for you. I pushed you into committing to something with me when you clearly had your doubts, I'm pretty useless when it comes to anything except jewelry, and I'm not exactly the poster girl for responsibility. I'm not good at communicating, I'm not good at voicing my feelings, and I'm not good at speaking up when I have concerns. My brother was being a dick to you, but my family are the only ones who have ever really been there for me so I was too excited about seeing him to tell him off when I should have and that wasn't fair to you." Barynn paused slightly, unsure where she really wanted to go from there. She hoped he'd say something so she didn't have to keep going.

Luther listened as he stripped and dried himself off. He left the towel on his head while slipping on nothing but sweat pants before huffing. "You got the responsibility right." He said, hoping he didn't say it loud enough for her to hear as he dried off his hair. "You are right... you aren't the poster girl for taking responsibility. It was my fault for starting something with you to begin with. It is clear that it takes Rylie yelling at you to get your head out of your brother's ass. I don't know how you are going to make it in your business if you hate people... I was optimistic, but... I guess I had to get my head out of your ass and now I see a bit clearly." He said.

Barynn's hazel eyes went wide when she heard his words. Her mouth fell open slightly, and she wasn't sure whether to be hurt or mad. Or maybe both. "You don't need to be good with people to sell high-quality jewelry. Not that you'd know what talent can do of course, because all you have to do is throw a little money around and suddenly everyone's lining up to make things happen for you," she snapped somewhat defensively, glaring his way. "Don't act like you're perfect either, because I may not be good at responsibility, but you're not very good at forgiveness, and I think that's more important. Oh, and don't even get me started on how much of a control freak you are! Everything just had to be your way! You wouldn't let me talk to the man who turned out to be my brother when he asked for me, you forced me to get a dragon even though you knew I was apprehensive about it, you bought me new dresses that were more your taste - I'm honestly surprised you didn't take me out to get a new haircut."

Luther had finished drying his hair grew more pissed the more she talked before walking out. "More important? Responisbilty is what keeps your naive ass alive." He said, his voice getting deeper. "I guess you would be one of those fucking people lining up to get paid then since you so fucking willingly took my money. "I have many talents, just ask the women in town, Barynn." He was hoovering over her now. His yellow eyes going golden again like when he snapped those men's necks. "Controlling?!" He yelled before pushing her up against the wall. "I had no fucking clue that waste of space was your fucking brother, instead of fucking telling me he just got an attitude. I honestly should have punted his midget ass back to the cave he crawled out of." He growled before lifting up her chin so she would look at him. "Those dresses make you look way hotter than those rags you wear, plus if you didn't fucking want them I could have gave them to a woman who is actually fucking grateful and not some spoiled bitch. And why would I fucking make you cut your hair when it is a good length of pulling?" He asked before turning her around and pressing her back up against the wall, pulling her hair as a demonstration.

Barynn was quiet as Luther came out. He looked angry, and she didn't blame him. For a moment, she felt badly about what she'd said, but it was only fleeting and he wasn't making it easy to keep feeling bad. Suddenly, though, he pushed her into the wall and a startled whimper left her lips. Now, instead of feeling bad, she was becoming a bit frightened. She gazed up at him with wide, nervous hazel eyes since she had little choice as he talked about how much better she looked in the dresses he'd bought for her, and her eyes went wide when she heard his comment about her hair being the perfect length...for pulling? Before she could even start to respond, though, he turned her around and pushed her against the wall, his hand giving her hair a forceful tug. She let out a soft, startled cry at the feeling. "Luther," she breathed in protest, lifting a hand and trying to grab at the hand he had in her hair.

[lil skip]

Luther tried to catch his breath as he tried to come off his high. Luther got up and looked down at her. She was gorgeous laying in his bed like that and then the guilt started to rush over him. "You can go now... I am sure you still only have one bag to back. You can keep whatever I gave you or not... I honestly don't give a shit. Just be gone by time I get out of my shower." He said and walked into his bathroom and closed the door before turning on the shower and mentally screaming.

She felt the movement of the bed as he stood up, and her hazel eyes fluttered open. For a fleeting moment, there was a peaceful smile on her lips as she gazed up at him, but the moment he started to speak, it faded. Her mouth fell open in surprise and she sat up. For a moment, she couldn't do anything but watch him walk towards the bathroom. "Luther-" she started when she could finally find the breath to form words, but it was too late and the door was closing.

She stared at the shut door for a moment, trying to process what had just happened. It had been incredible, and judging by his words, his actions, and his noises, it had been good for him, too. So why did he still want her gone? It didn't make sense, but the way he told her to be gone by the time he got out of the shower had her feeling like she didn't want to find out what would happen if she wasn't. Trying her hardest not to cry, she straightened her clothing up and scrambled to get out of the room, not sure how long he'd be in the shower and wanting to get her clothes from the tower room and be gone by the time he emerged.

Luther had taken her virginity by force and felt like complete shit. He couldn't face her and being harsh with her after that just made it worse. He could hurry with the shower and talk to her before she left, but what would that fix? He felt like if he tried talking to her she would either go off on him, like she should, or he would ask her not to go and forget the whole break up thing if she even wanted him after that. Luther stayed in the shower and looked down at his feet. He tried so hard and decided to try and redo the connection with his brother.
