The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 5 authors
He sees all that is happening, all that has happened, and all the will come. He sees great nations, prosperous nations like Noveria,
falling into disrepair, now only a shadow of its former self. He sees great heroes, such as the Lyt'Harts of Lyri, Uniting nations to fight against a hardened enemy. He sees impending war, between all the factions of Hartera, as the God of Continents has wished. He sees lesser known unnamed nations joining the war. He sees opportunistic mercenaries like that of the group Room V making their own gains in the war.
Individuals begin to manifest themselves in the Mind of Hartera, future tyrants, war heroes, and those doomed to meet their own fate on a desolate battlefield.
The Conflicts have began, Relations are breaking down as Hartera watches from his perch.
The only thing Hartera cannot see is who will step inside the chambers of Hell and Oblivion. Who will go into the blood bath and come out the other side the victor, if they come out at all. Will it be that of the Lyt'Harts finally gaining what they believe is rightfully theirs? Will the Sanguine Legion achieve their goal of perfect unity? Will Noveria climb out of their own economic despair and steamroll their way into sovereignty?
He sees all of this, as the leaders of Noveria, the Lyt'Harts, and the Sanguine Legion gather for one final attempt at diplomacy, the only factions to even entertain the idea any more.
Across the land, on a far away beach, a forward recon team for Room V begins their landing procedures. Hartera smiles as he begins to bask in the tension in the air around him, feeling the hostility. Hartera's plans are falling into place, by the end of this he will have found the perfect nation.
Even so, should the nations all lead themselves into destruction, Hartera will have had entertainment for the moment. A sick game played by a curious god. Hartera laughs to himself as he watches.
"My liege," one of Lennex's body guards spoke, riding on horse back beside him. it was a rare thing, though it was always to Lennex when it was a body guard. "I must ask, what do you think the chances of this move being... Successful?"
"I am unsure." He replied, staring down towards the road.
"Sir?"
"Have you taken to economics, Jacklin?" Lennex said, turning to his body guard.
"Aye, my father was some what of a merchant like you in your youth. I learned a thing or two." He replied, lifting the face plate that protected his face and all behind it from blade and spear.
"Then lets consider what we have. We have both iron, forests, coals, and a number of advantages that can allow us to fling ourselves into war."
"Aye."
"At the same time, we can take said resources, and give them to another power to protect us. We supply them to better themselves and protect us, and we build our defenses in the mean time."
"We would only give what we would usually make for troops, everything we would build for castles and the like would still be there?" The body guard said, starting to make sense of it.
"Yes. When our defenses are finished, we can either dissolve the trade or form a more permanent alliance."
"This is all considering that we have someone willing to work with us, and these negotiations fail."
"If we fail, and we don't have a friendly power, we can still make do... A lot of life will be lost however" The king said darkly.
But that raven was a precursor, not far behind its flight was a group of riders leading a singular carriage of great proportions.
This was the group from Agartha and they have traveled long to get to such a far destination that reaches from their northern home. The riders with the convoy were all distinguishable by their colors and though the group was few in number. It was obvious that they were far and away from being weak in any understanding of the word.
Five champions road in formation at the front while four magi with their long crimson capes road in a column behind them.
However the carriage was a more powerful point of interest.
Its weight was being pulled by four massive beast of burden, that at first glance may seem to be horses. But the lack of manes and the horns with the strangely thick coats showed them to be Haddiks. A beast found within the lands of the north, known for its astonishing strength and stamina but not for speed. They pulled the large box along with seemingly little effort and the driver was well into keeping them in line. Though covered in dark robes and concealing all of their physical form from prying eyes, this person was not hindered in any way.
Within Keizer sat, his body resting in the center of the floor of this dark room and his head lowered. One would suggest that he was praying and his posture was more to a meditative state. His eyes opened as raised his head and they lay upon a sealed box not far from his person.
"Viola.. how long till we reach the meeting area?" At that question a dark hand drifted from the shadows, resting upon his shoulder. "Its not long now master Keizer...
Tell me.. will you really entertain the idea of peace with such separation between the houses?"
He smiled slightly as he lay one hand on hers.
"No.. But I will not be the one to talk to them." He looks back at the sealed box in front of him as the rest of Viola's form leans in from the dark. Her form covered by a dress that was black as pitch and concealed her entire body from head to toe. However there were sections of her shoulders that could be seen from the outside. Her skin was dark and grey with look of a stones touch.
"Will the princess be ready for this... such an audience." Keizer laughed with a low bellow.
"After all this time Viola, she is more then ready."
The carriage continues towards its destination, with its occupants ready for the worst.
Of course that didnβt stop the fifty five mercenaries from performing small contracts. A bandit hideout that needed to be routed, a small territorial dispute between rival villages, an archbishop that needed to be assassinated. All those were fitting contracts for the mercenary group. Providing there was some profit to be gained. Playing all sides of the board requires a certain degree of tactics and discression, and that was all fine for Neil.
He had been observing the situation in Illire for more than a month now, and had worked his way into the city, doing odd knife-work. The inhabitants of his former homeland had a knack for holding grudges, and more than enough money to have them settled without having to dirty their own hands.
Feuding nobles were the best source of steady employment, but occasionally, the town guard would put up bounty notices and requests for βDiscreet, One-Time Serviceβ. Neil knew the game well. Donβt ask questions, just do the job and get paid.
But once the army started moving, with a Lytβhart commanding, Neil knew he had to check in with his commander. Beyd and Doctor Watson were set up no more than a days walk from Illire.
Wondering the roads alone was a dangerous endeavor. Bandits, highwaymen, Hill-tribes, even passing Lyrian troops who might mistake him for a bandit. Travelling in a group was always safer, but Neil couldnβt risk drawing any attention.
The gamble, sadly, did not pay off. Right around sundown, Neil found himself beset by several shaggy looking men. They all had thick beards, rotted teeth, and sores on their face from the highly unsanitary conditions they likely lived in.
βBeautiful Evening, mate.β Neil said cheerily. He knew the men werenβt interested in talking, but in the off chance he was wrong he did not want to provoke them. One of them, the leader, was adorned with an ox-skull fitted into a helmet, with a large, crude axe in his left hand. His garbs were mainly leather and fur, and instead of shoes, he wore bandages wrapped around his feet. He brings his axe up.
βWonβt be for you.. shiney man.β He grumbled to Neil. βAfter youβre feedinβ the grass, Iβll bet that armor will look good on me.β
βUnlikely..β Neil says out of the corner of his mouth. He takes a step back. Things were about to get very ugly. There was no avoiding itβ¦ these men had to die.
βOh, he looks pretty.β A larger one shows a chilling smirk. βTasty too.β He licks his chops.
Neil puts his hand on his head and exhales. Inside, he was already warming up.
βYou must be one of the Hill-tribe men, arenβt you?β Neil asked. He had to buy time until he could appraise the situation. He counted ten men; Two with large axes, Four with swords, Two with crossbows (Neil reflected on how odd it was that these men had such weapons), and two others who carried a small axe and a crude, turtle shell shield.
βNo matter what we are.β The leader replies, pointing his axe at Neil. βWeβll be looting your corpse it what we beβ¦β
Neil cups his hand over his ear. βSorry mate, didnβt quite catch that last part.β
The leader steps closer. So close that Neil could smell the rotted breath.
βI said..β
With almost unfathomable speed, Neil unsheaths his sword in a straight forward motion, smashing his adversaries nose, making a sound like a snapping twig. Once was enough. He now had enough room to get his obsidian sword out of his scabbard, then brings it across the savages face, splitting it in two with a spray of blood.
The other tribes men look on as Neil kicks their former chiefβs body to the ground.
βOh, Iβm sorry.. was he supposed to be your leader?β He taunts at the others. Still vastly outnumbered, Neil smiled at the thought that the situation had tilted slightly in his favor. βWELL COME ON, YOU BASTARDS!β He screams with his muscles tensed. βI HAVENβT GOT ALL DAY!β
Alexius quickly changed out of his armor and put on light brown leathers so that he could go with the scouts for a hunt. Nobody was exactly sure when the rest of the nations would arrive, but he did not want to be waiting around for them for long. He made an excuse to the ambassador that he'd go see how the green cloaks were doing in their line of work. In reality he knew exactly how they were. They even proved it when he rode up to meet them. He found only their commander in the clearing waiting.
"I told you and your men to wait for me. Here." He said firmly, with one finger pointing to the ground, when his horse trotted up to the commander of the green cloaks.
"Ah my lord. I have done as you asked. I feel my men have taken it apon themselves to show you or I should say prove to you just how effective they are." He explained with a wave of his hand. "Come men. Lets not keep Lord Alexius in the dark. Or at least keep yourselves in the shadows for too long."
With the wave of the commanders hand the green cloaks came from the shadows and trees. They made no movement while they hid and if they did it was calculated with the wind or some other variable. Alexius had this coming, earlier he boasted that he would like to see an example of their skill. Then when some of the men came out from right in front of his eyes he was certianly impressed. He trained with the green cloaks for a short time just for fun, but to see the best of them was something to behold in it self. Of course, he knew that they were not the top tier of stealth in the whole world. He knew of magic that could make people invisible, but that was rare to come by. Maybe that was all a myth. He could not be sure.
"Good show men." He said with a happy clap. "Indeed, I didn't even see you standing there in front of me. Amazing. Lets see how those tracking and hunting skills are now."
They instantly began talking and laughing as they filed into a small line toward the chosen hunting ground the Lyt'Harts picked from pre-planning. It took them four hours to find and kill the animals they planned for. Which was amazing time, considering they did not know the lands well, for them to get what they set out to gather. Alexius and the others returned to the camp all set up. The camp had tents set up for guests if anyone should need it, tents for their men, an area for the leaders, supply area, kitchen, a small training area that the soldiers set up for fun, and a big enough clearing for the other nations to set up at. Alexius clean himself and put on attire worthy of the meeting. By the time he finished his preparations he hoped that someone would've arrived.

Using the write pad helps to do that as well so both players can co-op on a single post.
I have another character that I am going to add but he is not in the light of the story as yet.
Also has anyone heard or spoken with the GM Raykon?
Re: War Of Factions
So for the opening parts of the game, Room V's (the faction) presence isn't known. Right now, all the characters are observing the various factions and groups. Spying if you will, and working on their own.
The characters will interact with your various factions while this is going on, so i encourage everyone to pm me so we can work some of my characters in to various storylines and help your faction out at the same time.
I'm a bit curious as to how the fight system works to be honest, and im not quite used to writing my own character in. I took a small liberty in my first post, I figured as long as it was realistic to my character's ability (since i don't have an army) it would be ok. Also I had to have my character doing something while you were all going to your meeting :D
If something I post is inaccurate (since i like to reference other factions and characters) or doesn't work, just let me known.
