Time: 8:00 - 9:00 A.M.
Weather: Sunny with scattered clouds. High 84 - Low 64.

Summer had finally arrived and it seemed like it was everyone's favorite season. Kids of all ages were out of school, unless you slacked off during the school year then you going to Summer school. Most kids were getting Summer jobs to make their own cash before going back to school and most kids, preferably the spoiled rich kids were sitting at home for now until going to The Hamptons, or wherever it is they go. But if you were looking for fun and adventure with your fellow age group then Camp Liberty was the place for you. Most of the teenagers had arrived last night to get the dibs on the good beds - Either though they were all the same. But for others, they were arriving this morning and ready for a Summer that they'll never forget.

Ashleigh's grandmother had pulled up into the parking lot of the camp as Ashleigh's eyes were trailed out of the window the whole entire trip in silence. She looked over at her grandmother with a slight sigh then smiled while clicking her seatbelt loose. "Thanks." Was all she had said before opening her door and getting out then closed it right behind her. She was a little bit sadden this morning because it was her parents that took her to camp on her very first day and everyday after that until she turned sixteen. She took a break from last year's camp festivities but looking forward to get back into the swing of things.

Ashleigh grabbed her bags and looked at the perimeter before her as it seems like nothing has changed. 'Shame.' She thought to herself while continuing her trek towards the cabin area, going over towards one of the cabins and dropping her bags onto the nearest bed with a huff. She was short but had enough body strength within herself since she practiced martial arts.

While exiting the cabin, a horde of girls and guys, whom she made friends with the previous year came up to her like she was a celebrity. They all said how much they missed her and such but she bit her bottom lip while thinking to herself that they had no idea that this was her last year at the camp. She had already came up with the decision herself and no one could talk her out of it. No one. As she broke herself from the horde of people, she went over to the activity board to see what was on the agenda today. "Let's see." She muttered while raising her arm up and finding today's date, which was June 8th, the start of the second week within the month.

Today was nothing but introductions and just relax to catch up until the Welcome Back To Camp Bonfire that night. Ashleigh shrugged her shoulders while walking away from the activity board and over towards the main hall, which was somewhat filled with other campers. Her eyes squinted as she looked for someone she knew, seeing Ming Li there and rushing over towards her. "Hey, girl!" Ashleigh said as Ming looked at her, squealing. "Girl! Where were you at last year?" Ming asked as Ashleigh smile turned flat. "Uhm, I took a year off. Personal reasons. So, what have you been up to?" Ashleigh quickly changed the subject as Ming looked at her. "Nothing but school. Graduate next year and I have to maintain my 4.0 GPA." Ming bragged as Ashleigh nodded her head.

"Excuse me." Ashleigh said while walking back outside to catch her breath as she didn't believe she could do this year either. She pulled her phone from her short sleeved hoodie pocket and called her grandmother. "Gramps. Mind turning around and coming back to get me?" Ashleigh said in a pleaded tone as her grandmother said that she wasn't and that Ashleigh needed to be around people her age in her time of need. Her grandmother basically told her to suck it up and just take a deep breath and calm down. Ashleigh sighed softly and said okay then hung her phone up while looking out in the distance and rubbing her hand on her forehead.

She then took a couple of steps back, sitting down on the small bench outside, scooting back so that her back is against the wooded building. Ashleigh swung her feet underneath her as she just wanted to wait outside until introductions started.

"Dude! Watch out for that..." A sigh came from the passenger seat. "Stop sign." Jeffery muttered as he was cringing in his seat from Sebastian's driving. "Look, if you're going to continue to be a backseat driver then I am going to make you walk the rest of the way." Sebastian said while continuing their drive towards Camp Liberty. "At least I can drive." Jeffery muttered under his breath then looked off in the distance as they were nearing the camp grounds now.

As soon as Sebastian parked his car, Jeffery jumped out and ran to the nearest grassed area, pulling up a few pieces. "Land! Sweet solid land!" People looked at him awkwardly then Sebastian walked over towards him, lifting him up off of the ground. "Don't mind him. He hasn't taken his medicine yet." Sebastian said as he dragged Jeffery back over to his car with a frustrated look on his face.

"So, should we text Alex and let her know that we're here?" Jeffery suggested as Sebastian nodded his head. "Yeah but let's go and unpack first before doing so. She might already be here though." Sebastian said while grabbing his bags out of the trunk and handing Jeffery his bags. They both walked to their respective cabins as Sebastian entered the red team cabin a few minutes later and saw that Jeffery was still unpacking.

"Dude. All that can wait, can it? Come on, let's wander around and check out the eye candy." Sebastian said as Jeffery looked up at him, shaking his head and placed the last clothing item into the dresser. "That's suppose to be something I would say." Jeff said while standing upright now and taking out his phone, sending a text to Alex now.

To: Big Sis Alex
Hey! Me and Sebastian made it to camp, barely with his driving. LOL. But are you here yet?

Jeffery sent the message as Sebastian grabbed his arm and pulled him out of his cabin. They both walked around the camp to scope out the competition along with the guys and girls this year, too. Jeff licked his lips at a few guys that passed by him while Sebastian was scoping out the guys and girls though he didn't really care about gender. "Alright, now that we saw the "competition", I think we need to head over to the main hall for introductions." Jeffery said while pointing on a piece of folded up paper that he pulled out of his pocket. As they walked over towards the main hall, their eyes caught sight of Ashleigh, sitting down on the bench. "Should we ask?" Sebastian questioned as Jeffery shook his head. "Let's give her some space." Jeffery responded as they past by her, entering the main hall.

"There's no need to fear anyone! Sebastian and Jeffery are here!" Sebastian shouted then jumped on the nearest table and did a small dance on the top of it then jumped off, chuckling. "Are you crazy?" Jeff asked him as Sebastian shook his head. "Don't be mad because I got mad skills." Sebastian answered while doing a little dance after saying those words. Jeffery walked into a small area that had couches as he sat down followed by Sebastian. They chatted while waiting for a few more of their friends to show up and keep them company.

For the first time in what felt like forever, Tori could finally breathe. The smell of the woods, the hum of chatter, the array of colours that represented a camper's team... She hadn't felt this relaxed in weeks. Her parents had told her several times that she didn't have to come if she didn't want to, that they could spend a few weeks in London instead, but she'd wanted to come. She needed the distraction. And besides, some of her best friends in the world were here. This was probably the best place for her to be.

The past year or two, her ex had always accompanied her to camp on the first day. She liked to show him off a little, and he liked to be shown off. But now she couldn't help but wonder if he'd actually been checking out the talent. As soon as she'd broken up with him, her friends had admitted that they'd heard rumours that the... incident she'd walked in on hadn't been the first. She'd butchered some of his clothes in retaliation.

She kissed her parents goodbye, promised to call later that night, and started the trek towards her cabin. She found herself watching the crowd, searching for any familiar faces- or any new faces. She didn't find anyone she particularly wanted to talk to, although she flashed a few friendly smiles. Once she reached her cabin, she dumped her bags onto her bunk and started rooting in one of the bags, trying to find her phone. She grinned once she had it located.

To: Rick
Where tf is my grand welcome? You've disappointed me, ricky. Also I'm headed to the main cabin, i'll see you there :D

Shoving her phone into the pocket of her shorts, she made her way to the main hall. Her mood had already improved, and a weight she hadn't previously noticed was gone. The walk to the main hall wasn't far, but it took her much longer than usual as she stopped to greet friends- most from her own cabin, but a few from others.

As she finally made it to the main hall, she spotted her team captain and grinned. As she reached him, she flopped down beside him and rested an arm on his shoulder, leaning her head on top of that. "So, the duties of team captain don't extend to helping your teammates with their bags?" She teased, pouting a little. "I could have strained a muscle and been ruled out from activities. And all that aside, that's just a gentlemanly thing to do. Chivalry must be dead!" She declared dramatically, looking away from him as she pressed a hand to her forehead. It was only as she looked back that she noticed Jeff on the other side of Sebastian. "Oh, hey Jeff. You agree with me on this, right?" She asked, grinning at him.

Alex sat in the parking lot with her step-sister for what seemed to be about ten minutes. Isobel was leaving today for England and in fact the airport was her next stop after she dropped Alex off at camp. She was going to attend university over there and it would be a while before they saw each other again so they took the extra minutes to say their goodbyes. They reminisced the past a little by remembering small things like when their mother spilled cranberry juice on dad or when their dad accidentally cut moms flowers in the front yard. It was all smiles and laughs until it came down to those last two minutes where they really got down to the goodbyes. They shared a big and long tearful hug before uttering their I'll miss you's. Laughing a bit at herself Alex wiped a few stray tears before gathering her things and getting out of the car. "Take care, yeah?" Alex said as she smiled at Isobel. "Always. Have fun alright?" she returned the smile. "Always." and with that Alex closed the door and watched her sister drive off before heading towards her cabin.

When Alex entered her cabin she saw that the two bottom bunks were already taken but that actually made her happy because she liked being on top. Walking over to one of the bunks she tossed her bags up onto it before her phone vibrated in her back pocket causing her to reach back and grab it. When Alex pulled up the text from Jeffery she smiled and began typing away.

To: Kid Brother
Yeah I'm here! Just got to my cabin actually, I'll meet up with you guys soon. Oh and remind me to lecture Sebastian about his driving again. Lol.

After sending the message Alex took a second to completely compose herself with what just happened with her sister. She took a few deep breaths and smiled to herself. Everything was going to be okay she reassured herself. As she was turning to leave her eye caught one of the bags that was on the bunk below hers. She gave a little smirk upon recognition and marched out the cabin into the crowd of campers. Alex didn't last five seconds before she was swarmed by young campers from all different colors. There was no doubt that Alex's friendly nature gave her an edge in making friends and last year she made more friends than she meant too but that was alright in her book. The more the merrier right? She greeted them all with smiles and hugs before getting into a short conversation with them. It didn't take long for Alex to get lost in all the friendly faces and fun conversations she had missed from last year before realizing where she was suppose to be.

"Hey guys lets head over to the main hall for introductions. Don't want to be late" she said with a smile and the crowd of campers followed her like little ducklings following their mother. Alex's arm was linked with another girls as they approached the main hall but a little figure on a bench was the first thing to catch her attention. "Hey guys, I'll catch up with you later." Alex excused herself from the little crowd as they made their way inside and Alex headed towards Ashleigh. "So is this how we wait for introductions now?" Alex sat down next to her friend and began swinging her legs underneath herself just like Ash was doing. "If it is I think I can dig it." her head tilted back facing the sky with a soft smile on her lips as she watched the clouds.

He wasn't going to say that leaving home was hard. It wasn't. Asher was always eager to leave somewhere to go somewhere else; it was his nature. Forever the traipsing magician. And he wasn't going to say that leaving his mother was hard either. It wasn't. Aside from the fact that he'd been attending the camp for years now, he never had difficulty leaving people behind. It wasn't out of a callousness or a lack of attachment. On the contrary. He was always secure in his belief that he'd meet these people again someday, and when he did, he'd have all new stories to tell.

As it was, despite the fact that Asher's leg was shaking, his fingers twitching, the car door already open, his mother was holding onto his shoulder, saying a lengthy teary-eyed goodbye. The two of them had always made the trip down to California a road trip, and he's driven most of the way down to give his mother rest for the ride back up. His neck was stiff and his legs ached for movement, anxious and restless less to arrive at camp and more, at this point, to just get out of the damn car. Midway through her long checklist of things he should have packed, he leaned in and gave her a hasty kiss on the cheek before quickly climbing out through the open door and into the fresh air. He breathed deep, enjoying the crisp breeze blowing through the trees and the consequent rustling of the bright green leaves. He loved the sounds of the forest. Definitely one of his favorite parts about the camp.

He ducked his head under the frame of the car door, still smiling, to say his own goodbye to his mother. "ViszlΓ‘t, Mama. TalΓ‘lkozunk kΓ©t hΓ³nap." A farewell in Hungarian, his latest endeavor, that she may not have understood the exact meaning of, but knew the general gist of the words. He said the same thing every year. Two years ago, it had been in Spanish, last year in Czech. She smiled back and, at last, let him leave, shooing him away from the car and towards the camp grounds.

It didn't take him long to reach his cabin; in his four years there, he'd found the quickest way there, a route that didn't involve following the dirt paths crafted by the camp staff. He unpacked quickly, leaving most of his things in his bag, which he threw up onto one of the top bunks. He liked the top-- better vantage point, good for observing all the people that came in and out. Same reason he often climbed trees, really.

He didn't stay long after laying claim to a bed. There were no people in the cabin anyways (boring), and he knew there'd be the welcoming program outside. Every year, like clockwork. Also one of the few times everybody was gathered in the same place at the same time, making it an event of particular interest. If one was paying attention, there were plenty of secrets to be discovered when the entire camp population was put together.

His walk towards the main hall was fairly uneventful. He picked out a few familiar faces in the crowd, held short conversations with a couple. Even to him, the amount of people he'd met there over the years he could now call something akin to 'friend' was surprising. He was strange, or, at the very least, others treated him that way. He was perfectly content on his own, of course, hardly noticed the difference between having company or not, but it was always curious to him the way boundaries seemed to be broken down within the camp grounds. Sometimes he felt as though it were an entirely separate world from the real one, the one everyone went back to at the end of their summer stay. He wondered how many of these people he would be speaking to under normal circumstances.

Still, he saw no sign of the two people he was eager to see most, both close members of his team. He was unsure, though, if they simply hadn't arrived yet or if they'd already made their way into the main hall. He drifted, half letting the crowd carry him, indoors, searching for either of the familiar faces of Garrett or Eleanor.

Jeffery and Sebastian was there, having a little conversation along with scoping out the competition for the other teams. "She's obviously on team red, I bet." Sebastian said while pointing at some random girl. "I don't care what team he is on but I want to be #TeamJeff." Jeffery said as Sebastian shook his head and scoffed slightly. "You got some serious issues, dude." Sebastian responded and Jeffery elbowed him in the side, playfully.

Their eyes turned when they heard a familiar voice. It was Tori, member of the pink team, in which Sebastian was the leader of. "Uhm, no?" Sebastian raised a brow while placing his hand upon her shoulder. "You're not in Beverly Hills anymore, kid." Jeff laughed a little, shaking his head. "Don't feel bad, Tori. He didn't even help me with my bags neither.." Jeff made a dramatic face. "And we rode together!" Jeff continued while rolling his eyes and shaking his head.

    To: Big Sis
Oh, I'll definitely remind you. Haha.

Jeff sent the text towards Alexa then delved back into the conversation. "Yeah, I agree with you one-hundred and ten percent, Tori." Sebastian glared at them both then scoffed while standing up. "So, your majesty, how was your trip here?" He asked her while turning around and sitting on top of the armrest of the couch now, his feet on a cushion.

"That's for your arm, stud. Not your ass!" Jeff said while playfully pushing Sebastian. "I know but for now, I am making an exception." Sebastian stated while waiting for Tori to respond to his question. "Where the hell is Alexa?!" Sebastian shouted as Jeff looked up at him. "She's here and on her way." Sebastian nodded his head as they both turned their gaze towards Tori.

She was not ever faced with the obstacle of being the new girl before, but along with the regular nerves there was excitement and a dash opportunity. And a whole lot of lingering fatigue from the journey. β€œYou know it helps if you actually get out of the car.” He said, snapping her out of her own little world and mind track that was slowly turning duller. She turned to Ryan and smiled. β€œI wish you could come with me.”
β€œPfft. I don't.” She cocked her head and raised some judgmental brows towards him. He could have been considered rude and insensitive but she knew him well enough to know it was his teasing humor and he meant well. He grinned. Without fail it always worked and brightened her up. Hence the smile that sweeped over her own features and made her lean towards him for a hug. He embraced her and she took her time against him, just enjoying the peace and warmth he brought her. Ryan was therapy enough and already her sweet escape.
Eventually she sighed out as reality hit. β€œI don't think it technically counts as attending camp when you're parked outside it in a car.”
    Ryan chuckled softly. β€œProbably not.”
Jane drew back and kissed him, trying a smile then climbed out. Ryan helped unload some her bags from the trunk and offered to carry them to the cabin or hall with her but she politely declined, bunching her luggage bags in her own hands. She pecked him once more in departure then begun her journey of Summer Camp: Camp Liberty.
She trudged along to the main hall where she assumed a type of assembly would take place and greeting.

β€œNew girl,” he muttered to himself checking how his radar went though it should have been relatively obvious in mannerisms. But he was willing to bet, this one girl with bags still in her hand was super new. He sprang himself off from the bench he sat and approached her. Sure he was intentionally hanging for maybe a fellow green member but anyone would work for him. β€œHey. What'd the sorting hat place you in?” The girl seemed to have to give him two looks to make sure he was talking to her or serious. β€œUm. Red team.” Lachlan caught the corner of her lips turning upwards. β€œAh cool. Well, I'm in green team and self appointed vice captain or co-leader. But don't worry I really think myself more of a Hufflepuff with an edge.” He chuckled to himself well aware of how lame or nerdy he must've sounded so far. Lachlan extended a hand and returned to regular greetings. β€œName's Lachlan.” She offered a kind smile as she took his hand and shook it. β€œJane.” He hoped he hadn't made her feel too awkward or pressured into socializing with his liveliness since she was polite but short in reply. Before he could open his mouth for more conversation, she cut in. β€œLook, Lachlan, I don't really want to be transparently new. I don't want a bullseye on my back, so..is there a way I can not walk around with my kitchen sink?”
    Lachlan smiled. β€œMy thoughts exactly.”

He didn't like being the kind to rush in at the last minute all flustered so he offered to take at least one of her bags and led the way briskly to the red clans cabins. He stopped before the door. β€œI cant be seen going in. The reds are so protective of their territory and anti-green entering their cabins. But I'll see you soon, yeah?” Lachlan snapped and pointed his fingers towards her then jogged back to the main hall.

Jane had tried to insist he stay, even outside the cabin for a moment so she had someone to head back with and help lose that new lost girl look she wore so well, but he had already taken off. β€œCrap,” she mumbled under her breath. Jane heaved her bags in and kicked them under a bed for now. She rushed outside the cabin as if hoping to still see some distant figure of Lachlan, but that was without luck. Jane clapped her hands together and squeezed tightly as her fingers entwined. β€œHere we go.” Jane braced herself for the wandering phase.

Eleanor stepped out of Rain's mother's car, glancing around as she did. She touched the wrist of her prosthetic arm, making sure the sweatshirt was covering it. Despite loving her new arm, she felt uneasy about all the new campers who might stare at it. At least she had it on and wasn't left with just the stump of her wrist. The dark haired girl walked around to the trunk, where she retrieved her backpack, violin, and one of her bags. She could try and carry the other one, but she doubted that would end well. Instead, her cabinmate and good friend Rain picked up Eleanor's remaining bag as well as her own bags. The older girl was an even six feet tall with an athletic build. Carrying three bags was no problem for her.

As the two walked, they passed numerous campers. Some were friends, others acquaintances, and of course there was always a group of newcomers readily identified by their confused faces or young age. Eleanor was torn between looking at the ground to avoid eye contact and keeping her head up so as not to fall or run into anyone. As she walked, she kept her gaze to the ground, only looking up if someone seemed to be coming very close to her.

The two arrived at the cabin they had shared since Eleanor's first year at camp. The other two girls that had previously stayed with them had graduated and thus were no longer attending the camp. Rain set her bags on the bottom bunk, as it was too much of a hassle for her to climb onto the top bunk without hitting her head. Knowing that Elle wouldn't be throwing her bags onto the top bunk, Rain set her friend's bag beside the ladder. Elle set the bag she had been carrying next to it, before gently setting her violin down on the ground. After taking off her backpack, she tossed it up onto her bed.

"Are you going to unpack or go to the Main Hall?" Elle asked her friend. Rain began unzipping one of her bags as she answered Elle. "I'm going to unpack before going. I'll catch up with you eventually. Don't get into too much trouble." Eleanor chuckled and left the cabin. Like herself, Rain was one of those Grey Team members who had a habit for appearing out of thin air. There was no doubt in her mind that her friend would show up in the Main Hall later. Just how much later was the real question.

Eleanor began the walk to the Main Hall. Other campers were flooding the area. Some were going to their cabins, others to the Main Hall. Some just stood in small groups, talking as the world around them passed by. Eleanor stood for a moment, listening to the snippets of conversation that caught her ear. It was mainly greetings and occasional gossip which carried from the teens' mouths. Though she would normally stay to listen to the campers around her, she was intent on finding Asher and Garret to show them her new arm.

The young woman began to weave her way through the sea of campers on the path which lead from the cabins to the Main Hall. She slipped between groups of people and dodged oncoming traffic. A group in front of her caused her to slow her pace. Not wanting to wait for the snails in front of her, she quickly walked around them. She kept up her quick pace so as to clear her distance from them. She did not want to be engulfed by them and be forced to maneuver around them again. As she turned her head to make sure she had cleared the group, she ran into the back of another camper.

Eleanor let out a soft, "oof!" Facing forward again, she found that she had run into a brunette whom she did not recognize. "Sorry," she told the other girl before quickly walking away, cheeks feeling flushed. Well, that was embarrassing. Of course, it was just an accidental bump in reality. But in her mind, she'd just left a terrible impression on the poor girl who happened to be standing there. Hopefully the girl wouldn't be mad at her and come after her later. Elle really didn't need or want to deal with that.

Once at the Main Hall, Eleanor diverged from the other campers. She preferred not to be stuck in the horde entering the main doors. Instead, she decided to go in through the backdoors of the basement level. The doors were unlocked, as staff had been busy moving things into the Main Hall in preparation for this year's events, injuries, hungry campers, and piles of papers. It seemed that not a soul was on the basement level at the moment, giving the young woman a chance to experience the calm before entering the storm that surely awaited on the first floor. She let out a small sigh, preparing herself for the overwhelming amount of people she was about to face. Of course, she'd likely only talk to a handful of them, while others she would politely say "hi" to before breezing on in search of one of her good friends. But the thought of being in a crowd, a group of people that might make fun of her or stare at her because they didn't know her yet was still unsettling. Eleanor was painfully aware that she would always be different than everyone else, leading to a sense of isolation.

Perhaps Alec will be upstairs if I can't find Garret, Asher, or Ash, she thought to herself as she walked to the staircase. He'd been kindly helping her to overcoming her anxiety with crowds, which really had made a difference. It took baby steps, but she felt ten times more comfortable being in a room full of people as she did when she first came to the camp.

Fortunately for her, Asher was relatively close to the stairs to the basement. Eleanor made her way though the throng of students standing between them. When she finally reached her friend, she couldn't help but hug him. She was not typically one for physical contact, but she was overjoyed to see her fellow Grey Team member. "Asher!" she cried as she embraced him, her head resting perfectly below his. After letting go of him, she held up her left hand. "Look, I got a new arm." She proceeded to begin showing him the different gestures and positions it was able to perform, a significant improvement from her previous hand which could only open and close the fingers in one movement.
