Introduction

Every decade in the queendom of Akasia, a handful of girls turn into witches by crusting up into a cocoon like state and coming out of it in a more mature form. The thing is that their disposition will be the opposite of what they were before. Pure and kind girls turn pure evil and psycho brats turn good. If they are in a solid balance they will barely change. The witch (one of there more good kind) queen of Akasia personally brings those destined to become witches to the capital so she can monitor them and stop them if things turn for the worst.

Setting: A modern fantasy world that has magic, but also mostly modern technology with mana crystals as a power source. Mana crystals offer a nearly endless supply of power as when unused they regain their power over time.

Places: Most places in the roleplay are within the Akasian capital of Ruvos. The city has a population of about 250,000. The country itself is more of an empire that expands an entire small continent (about the size of Australia) and has a total population of about 90 million. The capital is however only the tenth largest city. Most of the landscape is forests and farmland as well as a central mountain range. Ruvos is situated at the foot of these mountains about a two hour train ride from the nearest coast. The nation is not an absolute monarchy, but a parliamentary monarchy where the queen also fulfills the role of president and decides over whether to sign legislation and usually does if they make sense. Places within the city are:

-The witch dorm: A dormitory on palace grounds. It has ten rooms with two beds each, a dining room (however occasionally the queen joins them at lunch or dinner or invites them to the dining room in the palace), a recreation room, a studies room and a living room.

-Royal Academy: A school where the witches to be attend to get an education. Since it is an upper class school, it is an uniformed school. The witches to be are generally treated as outcasts within the school and even wear different uniforms. All for a good reason, if they learn to be angry from time to time, they wont turn out as bad as witches. The normal uniforms are shirts with blue ties, blue jackets and blue skirts, whereas the witches to be wear white and black sailor collar school uniforms with black ties and black lace trimmed shorts. In the summertime the uniforms are sleeveless and have long fingerless gloves. In winter they are long sleeved and have white high collared shirts underneath as well as long thermal leggings and a black hooded robe for outside.

-Palace: A large palace with many rooms, a large dining room, a ballroom, an office and various other rooms. The palace constantly had servants and politicians walking its halls.

-Downtown: Has malls, boutiques, restaurants, arcades etc. Pretty much what every downtown area has. The city also has an urban railway with trains that also connect to other areas within the capital region.

-The Great Wall: A large, high wall surrounds the city and is older than the palace. It is said to be 5000 years old and is manned around the clock with mages, cannons and soldiers with guns. The top is reachable by a long staircase.

-The Proving Grounds: A forested area behind the palace. Here royal family members go to train, but also the witches to be come here for shady things.

Outside the capital:

-Goldshore coastal town: A two hour trip with the high speed train from the capital. Goldshore has beautiful beaches and the royal private beach resort. Due to the royal private beach there is a higher police presence in the town than elsewhere.

-Ausur historical village: The birthplace of the empire and the royal family. It is one of the oldest settlements in the nation being over 6000 years old.

Other info:

Witches: Witches come in good and evil. They are mysteriously chosen by a force to become so and go through a cocoon stage on their 16th birthday and when they emerge from the cocoon, they have an adult form and their alignment is the opposite. It has been tradition for the queen to take these in and make sure they do not turn evil. However this practice has only been that way since the coronation of the witch queen after she overthrew her tyrannical father. Before her reign, it was common practice to kill any children destined to become witches or hide them until they became witches. Children who become witches are exclusively female.

Witches to be: The queen made it mandatory for the witches to be to wear a choker or collar with a tear crystal pendant that changes colors depending on the alignment of the wearer. The type of choker or collar can be chosen freely as long as the pendant is attached. Necklaces are too loose and move too much around for a correct reading and the only alternative is for the crystal to be fused into the forehead which is a painful process and remains permanent.

School uniforms are only required in school and during school related training or non-sports afterschool activities.

Queen Ea
The sky was red. The cries of men were in the air. A battle was seen in a foreign land. Another kingdom had declared war fearing that the witch queen would overthrow their unjust systems that kept aristocrats in power. The witch queen was surrounded by enemy soldiers led by their king. Yet she stood there fearlessly which further drew mockery from the enemy. A group of soldiers attacked, but with a movement of her hand they froze in place. To her only one person needed to die as the others were just pawns. The king moved to attack, but with another movement of the queens hand, his joints began to twist painfully, eventually snapping his neck. "Go on. You are free." She said to the soldiers.

Ea awoke from a dream about a past event. Those were brutal times, but she tried her best to spare those who were forced to fight for their rulers or just got caught in the middle.

She stood up, bathed and got dress. She did her hair and left her room. Outside a butler was already waiting for her. "My queen. It isn't recommended to go outside with bare feet. The stones are hot from the sun." He said. Ea turned to him: "Okay, fetch my sturdy shoes then." Ea returned to her room to put on black socks. Once she came back out, the butler had already fetched the shoes. Unlike her flat shoes, these were metallic armor like shoes with low heels. On warm days, they managed to keep her feet cool and were more comfortable to wear despite being heavier than her other shoes.

"Anything special to do today?" Ea asked the butler. The butler then replied: "We got an emergency request this morning. A citizens daughter is deathly ill and the doctors think it is no normal illness but a curse cast upon her. Also we have diplomats from the Illy islands, an independent state off our coast."

"I will go to the girl at once. And about the diplomats, I hope they are fully aware that if they are trying to barter continued independence, they will have to get rid of archaic unjust systems in their nation like feudalism." Ea said. The butler nodded.

In the main hall, she tended to the cursed girl. Her hair was unnaturally black and her eyelids were darkened. Ea saw immediately that it was a curse. One that was deadly to common folk, but yet the work of a probably rather young evil witch. "This will be easy. I wont need any potions or herbs to lift this curse." Ea said. She put her hands on the girls forehead and closed her eyes. Soon a glow emitted from her hands and the symptoms of the curse had disappeared turning the girls hair brown again and making her look healthy.

Once the girl came to, Ea asked: "Do you know who did this to you?" "It was a woman from my village. Her name is Rana. She used to be so nice. Why would she do this to me?" The girl said. It sounded like a witch someone didn't report, which in the end caused more problems than if they had reported her before she became a witch.

"I will make my way to your village later today and confront this menace." Ea said. "I recommend you stay in the capital for a couple days until you have enough energy for the trip home." The girl nodded.

Mayu Avalie

Mayu was out of bed early and was in town in school uniform showing off her silver bracelet, she had gotten recently. Another girl from her school tripped her as she was walking down the street, to which she scraped her knee. "Witch trash." The girl remarked. Mayu got up in pain and said: "Ow! Bitch." She then mumbled: "I will get you for this."

Mayu noticed her bracelet was missing. It had come off and snapped on the ground as the schoolmate stepped on it. Mayu felt as if she was going to cry. She had just gotten the bracelet and liked it.

Once she made it to the school grounds, she found the girl from before and punched her in the face when she wasn't looking.

However a supervising teacher saw what she did and apprehended her. "I think I need to send you to the queen for a talk. You have been acting worse than usual lately." The teacher said.

Cole Renhedge

Cole heard about the sickened girl, but before anything could be done, he was told that she was taken to Witch Queen.

When he heard it there was nothing he could do, but he still wanted to learn the cause of said disease, and he heard from some gossiping people that sickened girl came from a village, village just east of here.

Cole did not know what caused it, but he wanted to be sure that no one else would suffer, and so he prepared for a quick trip to said mysterious village, whose name he failed to learn.

Raina Crow

Raina second eyes, who happened to be crows watched from above as one student punched another, only to be apprehended by teacher. – Sight that made her laugh for a brief moment, only to stopped abruptly when she noticed that someone is leaving Capital, a young man who she saw once before, she sighed for this time she won’t help him at all.

She watched him making his way through crowds of people, exchanging greeting gestures with traders and town healers. Then she cared no more but focused her sight on rather busy Witch Queen, that she disliked so much…

OOC - So I guess, the outlawed witch is fine, or should I change it? ^^

OOC: A witch is not outlawed if she isn't evil. Just because she isn't under the direct wing of the queen or isn't employed with the government, doesn't mean she is persecuted.

Queen Ea

On her way to meet the diplomats, Ea received a call from the school. "Hello?" Ea said. The teacher on the other line said: "There has been an incident with Mayu again. Should we send her to the palace?" "Do so. I will see her in my office after I talk with some diplomats." Ea replied.

Ea reached her office and received the diplomats from the Illy islands. "Gentlemen. Welcome. Do you wish to drink something? Tea or water?" Ea said. The men seemed to be taken aback or irritated by something about her. "Is something wrong?" Ea asked.

"We expected you to be older and you are very liberally dressed by our cultural standards." One of the men replied. Ea then replied: "I get that a lot. I am actually 222 years old and have ruled this nation for nearly 200 years. And does a miniskirt bother you?"

"Noooo, no. Not at all. We don't want to insult you, Queen Ea or are you more of an empress?" The man said. Ea: "I do not call myself empress because I find it to be unnecessary. There are people who still call me empress since I do have an empire. But please just call me Queen Ea. And have you made up your mind on what to drink?"

Man: "I think we will have tea." Ea got up and poured hot water into two tea cups and put tea bags in them. She then served the tea to the two men. Man: "Why don't you have servants do it?" Ea: "They are not servants, but employees. I pay them and they arent bound to service. I also gave them a worker's union. Also I like to do many things myself around here."

Man: "We aren't familiar with this so called worker's union concept. Perhaps you can enlighten us?" Ea: "A worker's union is an organization where workers can collectively barter conditions of work and improvements to the employee-employer relationship. In some instances it can lead to strikes, if demands aren't a least partially met. Personally, my butlers and maids haven't striked in decades, because I pay them well and can pay them well. You should try it sometime if your nation can get rid of serfdom. The trick is that the employer should make reasonable compromises without completely cheaping out. Raises should at least be adapted to economic inflation and if the employees have grievances about safety hazards, then it is best to listen to these and come up with a solution."

Man: "I see. Well we came here to discuss our status as an independent nation as your nation can probably easily annex ours. What are your conditions for a guaranteed independence?" Ea: "Simple. Get rid of unjust systems like serfdom, give citizens some political power such as an elected national council or parliament and rid your nation of corruption. That means you cannot just enact a law and selectively prosecute opposition. It means annihilate political corruption in your nation. If you can do that, then you have guaranteed independence. If you don't, you either can see yourself be annexed in the near future or can voluntarily join my empire, while still being granted semi-autonomy, because if you cannot create a better society, then I will do it for you and any insurgence will eventually die down due to improved living conditions."

Man: "Kind of harsh. But we will talk to our king tonight and see which option he will take. Will any of these options lead to his abdication?" Ea: "If you end up being forcefully annexed, then he will have to abdicate and eventually be judged upon how bad the injustice on the Illy islands is. If he chooses to voluntarily join, he will have to accept a lower title such as prince or duke and only have limited political power. If he chooses to try to improve conditions in your country, he can stay king and will have more power than when joining my empire, albeit still will have to voluntarily reduce his own power some. I am surprised that he didn't come himself if he is in the capital."

Man: "Understood. I think the king decided to go exploring due to his infatuation with the futuristic nature of your nation. We never though it was possible to travel such a long distance from the coast to the capital in a mere hour or two. At home, we would have needed two or three days for the trip." Ea: "Understandable. If the king would like to meet me, we can maybe meet in the city. I know a couple good places to dine depending on the kings taste."

Man: "Gladly. We will try to convince the king for a meeting with you tomorrow." Ea: "Then I guess this is the end of the discussion. I wish you a good day."

As the diplomats left, they said to each other in their native language: "I like her. Friendly, benevolent, yet powerful and intelligent, despite her very unorthodox nature." "I agree. She might be able to convince the king to a peaceful solution."

Meanwhile elsewhere the Illian king was stuffing his mouth full with crepes. "I have never eaten anything so delicious." He said.

Mayu Avalie

Mayu was picked up by car and taken to the palace. Once at the palace, she walked with the teacher down the long halls to Ea's office. She passed two foreign men, who looked somewhat excited. Then she arrived at the office.

"Take a seat." Ea said to Mayu. Mayu then said: "I didn't start it!" "I said take a seat." Ea said with the same voice. Mayu then sat down.

"Mayu punched a schoolmate in the courtyard. She has been acting up lately." The teacher said. Ea then replied: "I want to hear her side of the story, too." "I was on my way to school, when she tripped me and stepped on my new bracelet, breaking it." Mayu said as she began to sob. "I just wanted to get back at her."

"You should have come to me instead of getting revenge. It is okay to be angry or hate schoolmates for what they do to you. But it doesn't mean you have to harm them. If you came to me, I would have fixed your bracelet and made it stronger so that it wouldn't break so easily. Or I could have made you a new one." Ea said. Mayu replied: "The bullying has gotten worse. They call me "witch trash" and "slut". I wish I could do more than just punch them."

On one side, Ea wanted to let Mayu's anger flow. On the other side, Ea cared dearly for her. "Give it a week and on your birthday, everything will be different. Why don't you take a day off school and go hunt some pidgeons in the proving grounds?"

Mayu got up and fell into Ea's arms crying. "Okay! I will try to." Mayu said. Ea then hugged her and said: "It's okay. Let your emotions flow."

Cole Renhedge
Cole reached village faster than he anticipated, but what he saw was far different from what he hoped for. Village wasn’t in flames, at least that was a good thing, yet all he could find in this place were empty homes…and one weird girl in the middle of a village, near old well.

She smiled at him, but the closer he got to her, the more uneasy he felt thanks to her smile.

Unsure and brushing hair with one hand, he asked…

“Hey, that’s probably stupid question but where are the people who live here?”

She kept on smiling, and with a falsely kind voice that he fell for…

“Oh, they are all inside this old building slightly further from here, just keep going straight…” She replied.

“Alright…” He moved further, but his owl immediately left its favorite place – Cole’s arm, which was very unusual, but he had no time to think about it for suddenly fog surrounded him. Now he could only move towards one place, the said mysterious building girl told him about earlier.

“Did I just failed to notice obvious thing again…” He asked rhetorically, before laughing nervously and deciding to investigate what unfolded before him.

Raina Crow

Witch Queen was once more in a place unreachable by Raina’s crows, but she had such an amazing guest, guest with whom Raina had to play around at least a little, and so Raina put a bit of this and a little of that as a surprise in King’s drink, one that will be a complete mystery until he drinks it.

He will surely enjoy this Capital type of taste. – Is what Raina thought, and cared no more, for something else caught her eye, or rather crow eye.

Her old friend that she barely knew, and who last time acted far too naively ended up acting naïve once more, when he stepped into simple trap set by an inexperienced witch.

So inexperienced, and yet she missed her.

Unsupervised witch surely has a lot of fun, but it’s weird she was so close and yet I missed her until now…

OOC - Kay, good to know, also will there be a group that intervenes with Queens plans, and tries to spread chaos or something? ^^

OOC: Maybe later. Maybe like a rogue nationalist group from the Illy islands who try an attempt on the queens life, because they dont want their nation to be annexed.

Queen Ea

After Mayu had left. Ea summoned a portal to the village where the cursed girl was from. It was like a blue doorway where Ea stepped through. She arrived in an area with thick fog. "What an amateur." Ea said dispelling the fog with a movement over her hand. She saw a man and a girl. She sensed the girl was probably the witch she had to take care of. With another movement of her hand, vines shot out of the ground and bound the young witch. "You have the choice of voluntarily giving yourself up or I will have to incapacitate you and take you with me against your will. Well it is only a choice to take the easy or the hard way." She said to the young witch.

"Are you unharmed?" She called out to the man.

Mayu Avalie

After leaving Ea's office, Mayu went to the proving grounds with a crossbow to find some birds to hunt. She found a large pidgeon. But it took three shots to hit it. "This isn't helping that much." She said. "Maybe I should try to find wild rabbits.

"Keeper"
Just as things seemed to get bad, someone came with help, and that someone was a witch queen herself. Cole watched as she dealt with the culprit, but had to interrupt with one question in mind.

“Did you kill everyone in this village.”

“Of course I did! That’ why I…”

“Ah, you didn’t , so big building houses them right now, thanks!” He interrupted her, and immediately went towards building he wanted to check earlier. Leaving two witches behind, while one was baffled.

“W-what? H-how?”

Raina Crow
Raina watched it all chuckling, though it was a good question – how did that Cole know she lied.

Sadly she had to take a look at someone else who seemed to have decided to hint rabbits near her home, Raina wondered whether to scare her a little or maybe do something else.

Queen Ea

"You will never take me with you!" The witch said and burned the vines. Then attempting to shoot fire at Ea. But no fire came. "Are you out of magic?" Ea said. The other witch then tried to escape, but Ea reacted quickly enough and froze the witch's legs in place. She approached the witch. "I guess we will have to do this the hard way." Ea said. She hit the witch in the stomach with her knee and then hit her head, knocking her unconscious. Ea lifted the witch onto her shoulder and opened a portal. Out came a witch under the queens employment. "Take her to a safe room and keep an eye on her." Ea said as she handed the witch over.

Ea stayed in the village to investigate further. She spotted a crow watching her and gave it a gaze. She knew the crows were acting very suspicious and may be controlled by someone.

OOC – Well, it surely cuts out a possibility of Keeper and that witch exchanging words again, but that won’t be a problem, nor it will affect Raina in any way :)

Raina Crow

As it seemed her game was coming to an end, one crow had to leave, Queen had to be left alone but she could watch Cole just for entertainment.

Raina wondered whether he would risk being exposed again, last time it happened Raina learned a fascinating thing about him and now that she thinks about it – it would be best if she was the only one who knows.

Well, its settled then…if his secret is in danger, this time I’ll help him partly with crows annoying dear little Queen…that I hate so much.

"Keeper"

Cole indeed found people inside, most of them in poor shape, but most would be able to survive with just medicine and herbs he knows, most for one would not…old man whose life seemed to be hard under some unknown circumstances.

I should wait for our Queen Ea, she would surely…no, he may die before she arrives.

He sighed, knowing that if any of the villagers realizes what he is about to do, he may be in danger, and if Queen learns about it…there’s no telling what will happen.

Queen Ea

Ea took a look around a village and spotted a larger building the man from before may have possibly went into. She made her way there as the other buildings seemed to bear no souls. However there were pesky crows flying around her and getting in her way. She proceeded to paralyze them one by one. It was very odd behavior on the side of the crows as if someone had commanded them to do this. She began to try to track whether there was a magical influence in the area.

Mayu Avalie

Mayu had gone to her room and turned on the TV. The news was on. They spoke of a law that didn't pass the week before and that the nationalist party that proposed it, wanted to petition it to the queen herself. It was about banning any language that wasn't Akasian in schools.

"Ea would never agree to that." Mayu mumbled. She knew that Ea turned down pretty most anything the nationalist party proposed, despite the nationalist party being a successor to the banned Church of Ea, which deified Ea and committed terrorist attacks against non-Akasians and "heretics". Ea not only banned them, but made it illegal to form a religion that deified her.

Mayu in a way felt bad for Ea, as she had to deal with so many problems.

OOC - Oh, come on! You just completly neglected Raina's crows trying to block you from entering for a while, to give Cole time - ah well I guess I should've been more precise ^^

"Keeper"

Cole began to tend to gravely sickened man, basic care could be easily applied, but man will surely die anyway, unless magic is used.

There was a way to solve this little dilemma of his, with a small secret.

Any witch won’t most likely make it here, Queen could, but she may be too late…

He sighed, and from under his clothes pulled out a small bottle with strange glowing substance inside.

Raina Crow

Raina enjoyed slowing down Queen Ea, interrupting her seemed to be always an entertainment for her. Sadly as much as she could interrupt her, Ea had to start searching for the source of magic at some point…which in turn forced Raina to recall her crows.

Tsk, annoying, there the fun ends, and his time as well…

She chuckled.
