Mayu Avalie

Kind of bratty but bearable

0 · 103 views · located in Akasia

a character in “Witch Cocoon”, as played by Aniihya

Description

Name: Mayu Avalie
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Role/Occupation: Witch-to-be
Appearance: Image
Clothing: Usually thigh-highs, a button down shirt, a miniskirt and sometimes a tie. Other times she wears minidresses or stuff that isn't fitting for social norms. In winter, she wears long yet extravagant dresses or turtleneck minidresses with black stockings.
Jewelry: Three black chokers with the pendant on the top one.
Likes: "Getting back at people", bragging, taking out her anger on animals (such as yelling at cats)
Dislikes: People who are too nice, people who wont let her get her way, sometimes the queen
Alignment: Pure neutral, borderline neutral evil
Personality: She has been spoiled and can be bossy sometimes. While she wont intentionally hurt anyone, she will still treat people like trash if they dont give her the utmost respect. While she is obedient, almost subserviant towards the queen, she occasionally harbors anger towards her. On the other hand, she idolizes the queen and sees her as the mother she never had. There are times where she can be nice, especially towards people she has known for a long time.
Background: Mayu lived with her father before the queen came to get her. Her mother died giving birth to her and was a mage. For the first few years of her life, her father let his older daughter raise Mayu, because he blamed Mayu for the death of her mother. But when Mayu's sister moved out when Mayu was only six years old, Mayu's father slowly "forgave" her and slowly grew attached to her. Once Mayu was ten, the queen came to take her. Her father protested because he would be completely alone without her. The queen then made him an offer to give him a place to stay in the capital and give him a job. At the same time, he would be allowed to see his daughter on weekends and not have to travel far. He accepted and got a position as tailor for the palace staff, which in turn meant he was actually able to see his daughter on a daily basis, but what the queen meant was that he would have off on weekends so that he could spend time with his daughter. In private, she told him that his daughter will change and that he shouldn't try to punish her or scold her for her actions as it would count for when she turns 16 and into a witch. The father understood and was still thankful for the possibility to be near his daughter. For the next five years, Mayu grew up under the wing of the queen and became somewhat bratty. Now she is just about a week away from her 16th birthday, only knowing that she will become a witch on that day but not that she will possibly turn into a nicer person.

So begins...

Queen Ea
The sky was red. The cries of men were in the air. A battle was seen in a foreign land. Another kingdom had declared war fearing that the witch queen would overthrow their unjust systems that kept aristocrats in power. The witch queen was surrounded by enemy soldiers led by their king. Yet she stood there fearlessly which further drew mockery from the enemy. A group of soldiers attacked, but with a movement of her hand they froze in place. To her only one person needed to die as the others were just pawns. The king moved to attack, but with another movement of the queens hand, his joints began to twist painfully, eventually snapping his neck. "Go on. You are free." She said to the soldiers.

Ea awoke from a dream about a past event. Those were brutal times, but she tried her best to spare those who were forced to fight for their rulers or just got caught in the middle.

She stood up, bathed and got dress. She did her hair and left her room. Outside a butler was already waiting for her. "My queen. It isn't recommended to go outside with bare feet. The stones are hot from the sun." He said. Ea turned to him: "Okay, fetch my sturdy shoes then." Ea returned to her room to put on black socks. Once she came back out, the butler had already fetched the shoes. Unlike her flat shoes, these were metallic armor like shoes with low heels. On warm days, they managed to keep her feet cool and were more comfortable to wear despite being heavier than her other shoes.

"Anything special to do today?" Ea asked the butler. The butler then replied: "We got an emergency request this morning. A citizens daughter is deathly ill and the doctors think it is no normal illness but a curse cast upon her. Also we have diplomats from the Illy islands, an independent state off our coast."

"I will go to the girl at once. And about the diplomats, I hope they are fully aware that if they are trying to barter continued independence, they will have to get rid of archaic unjust systems in their nation like feudalism." Ea said. The butler nodded.

In the main hall, she tended to the cursed girl. Her hair was unnaturally black and her eyelids were darkened. Ea saw immediately that it was a curse. One that was deadly to common folk, but yet the work of a probably rather young evil witch. "This will be easy. I wont need any potions or herbs to lift this curse." Ea said. She put her hands on the girls forehead and closed her eyes. Soon a glow emitted from her hands and the symptoms of the curse had disappeared turning the girls hair brown again and making her look healthy.

Once the girl came to, Ea asked: "Do you know who did this to you?" "It was a woman from my village. Her name is Rana. She used to be so nice. Why would she do this to me?" The girl said. It sounded like a witch someone didn't report, which in the end caused more problems than if they had reported her before she became a witch.

"I will make my way to your village later today and confront this menace." Ea said. "I recommend you stay in the capital for a couple days until you have enough energy for the trip home." The girl nodded.

Mayu Avalie

Mayu was out of bed early and was in town in school uniform showing off her silver bracelet, she had gotten recently. Another girl from her school tripped her as she was walking down the street, to which she scraped her knee. "Witch trash." The girl remarked. Mayu got up in pain and said: "Ow! Bitch." She then mumbled: "I will get you for this."

Mayu noticed her bracelet was missing. It had come off and snapped on the ground as the schoolmate stepped on it. Mayu felt as if she was going to cry. She had just gotten the bracelet and liked it.

Once she made it to the school grounds, she found the girl from before and punched her in the face when she wasn't looking.

However a supervising teacher saw what she did and apprehended her. "I think I need to send you to the queen for a talk. You have been acting worse than usual lately." The teacher said.

Cole Renhedge

Cole heard about the sickened girl, but before anything could be done, he was told that she was taken to Witch Queen.

When he heard it there was nothing he could do, but he still wanted to learn the cause of said disease, and he heard from some gossiping people that sickened girl came from a village, village just east of here.

Cole did not know what caused it, but he wanted to be sure that no one else would suffer, and so he prepared for a quick trip to said mysterious village, whose name he failed to learn.

Raina Crow

Raina second eyes, who happened to be crows watched from above as one student punched another, only to be apprehended by teacher. – Sight that made her laugh for a brief moment, only to stopped abruptly when she noticed that someone is leaving Capital, a young man who she saw once before, she sighed for this time she won’t help him at all.

She watched him making his way through crowds of people, exchanging greeting gestures with traders and town healers. Then she cared no more but focused her sight on rather busy Witch Queen, that she disliked so much…

OOC - So I guess, the outlawed witch is fine, or should I change it? ^^

Queen Ea

On her way to meet the diplomats, Ea received a call from the school. "Hello?" Ea said. The teacher on the other line said: "There has been an incident with Mayu again. Should we send her to the palace?" "Do so. I will see her in my office after I talk with some diplomats." Ea replied.

Ea reached her office and received the diplomats from the Illy islands. "Gentlemen. Welcome. Do you wish to drink something? Tea or water?" Ea said. The men seemed to be taken aback or irritated by something about her. "Is something wrong?" Ea asked.

"We expected you to be older and you are very liberally dressed by our cultural standards." One of the men replied. Ea then replied: "I get that a lot. I am actually 222 years old and have ruled this nation for nearly 200 years. And does a miniskirt bother you?"

"Noooo, no. Not at all. We don't want to insult you, Queen Ea or are you more of an empress?" The man said. Ea: "I do not call myself empress because I find it to be unnecessary. There are people who still call me empress since I do have an empire. But please just call me Queen Ea. And have you made up your mind on what to drink?"

Man: "I think we will have tea." Ea got up and poured hot water into two tea cups and put tea bags in them. She then served the tea to the two men. Man: "Why don't you have servants do it?" Ea: "They are not servants, but employees. I pay them and they arent bound to service. I also gave them a worker's union. Also I like to do many things myself around here."

Man: "We aren't familiar with this so called worker's union concept. Perhaps you can enlighten us?" Ea: "A worker's union is an organization where workers can collectively barter conditions of work and improvements to the employee-employer relationship. In some instances it can lead to strikes, if demands aren't a least partially met. Personally, my butlers and maids haven't striked in decades, because I pay them well and can pay them well. You should try it sometime if your nation can get rid of serfdom. The trick is that the employer should make reasonable compromises without completely cheaping out. Raises should at least be adapted to economic inflation and if the employees have grievances about safety hazards, then it is best to listen to these and come up with a solution."

Man: "I see. Well we came here to discuss our status as an independent nation as your nation can probably easily annex ours. What are your conditions for a guaranteed independence?" Ea: "Simple. Get rid of unjust systems like serfdom, give citizens some political power such as an elected national council or parliament and rid your nation of corruption. That means you cannot just enact a law and selectively prosecute opposition. It means annihilate political corruption in your nation. If you can do that, then you have guaranteed independence. If you don't, you either can see yourself be annexed in the near future or can voluntarily join my empire, while still being granted semi-autonomy, because if you cannot create a better society, then I will do it for you and any insurgence will eventually die down due to improved living conditions."

Man: "Kind of harsh. But we will talk to our king tonight and see which option he will take. Will any of these options lead to his abdication?" Ea: "If you end up being forcefully annexed, then he will have to abdicate and eventually be judged upon how bad the injustice on the Illy islands is. If he chooses to voluntarily join, he will have to accept a lower title such as prince or duke and only have limited political power. If he chooses to try to improve conditions in your country, he can stay king and will have more power than when joining my empire, albeit still will have to voluntarily reduce his own power some. I am surprised that he didn't come himself if he is in the capital."

Man: "Understood. I think the king decided to go exploring due to his infatuation with the futuristic nature of your nation. We never though it was possible to travel such a long distance from the coast to the capital in a mere hour or two. At home, we would have needed two or three days for the trip." Ea: "Understandable. If the king would like to meet me, we can maybe meet in the city. I know a couple good places to dine depending on the kings taste."

Man: "Gladly. We will try to convince the king for a meeting with you tomorrow." Ea: "Then I guess this is the end of the discussion. I wish you a good day."

As the diplomats left, they said to each other in their native language: "I like her. Friendly, benevolent, yet powerful and intelligent, despite her very unorthodox nature." "I agree. She might be able to convince the king to a peaceful solution."

Meanwhile elsewhere the Illian king was stuffing his mouth full with crepes. "I have never eaten anything so delicious." He said.

Mayu Avalie

Mayu was picked up by car and taken to the palace. Once at the palace, she walked with the teacher down the long halls to Ea's office. She passed two foreign men, who looked somewhat excited. Then she arrived at the office.

"Take a seat." Ea said to Mayu. Mayu then said: "I didn't start it!" "I said take a seat." Ea said with the same voice. Mayu then sat down.

"Mayu punched a schoolmate in the courtyard. She has been acting up lately." The teacher said. Ea then replied: "I want to hear her side of the story, too." "I was on my way to school, when she tripped me and stepped on my new bracelet, breaking it." Mayu said as she began to sob. "I just wanted to get back at her."

"You should have come to me instead of getting revenge. It is okay to be angry or hate schoolmates for what they do to you. But it doesn't mean you have to harm them. If you came to me, I would have fixed your bracelet and made it stronger so that it wouldn't break so easily. Or I could have made you a new one." Ea said. Mayu replied: "The bullying has gotten worse. They call me "witch trash" and "slut". I wish I could do more than just punch them."

On one side, Ea wanted to let Mayu's anger flow. On the other side, Ea cared dearly for her. "Give it a week and on your birthday, everything will be different. Why don't you take a day off school and go hunt some pidgeons in the proving grounds?"

Mayu got up and fell into Ea's arms crying. "Okay! I will try to." Mayu said. Ea then hugged her and said: "It's okay. Let your emotions flow."

OOC: Maybe later. Maybe like a rogue nationalist group from the Illy islands who try an attempt on the queens life, because they dont want their nation to be annexed.

Queen Ea

After Mayu had left. Ea summoned a portal to the village where the cursed girl was from. It was like a blue doorway where Ea stepped through. She arrived in an area with thick fog. "What an amateur." Ea said dispelling the fog with a movement over her hand. She saw a man and a girl. She sensed the girl was probably the witch she had to take care of. With another movement of her hand, vines shot out of the ground and bound the young witch. "You have the choice of voluntarily giving yourself up or I will have to incapacitate you and take you with me against your will. Well it is only a choice to take the easy or the hard way." She said to the young witch.

"Are you unharmed?" She called out to the man.

Mayu Avalie

After leaving Ea's office, Mayu went to the proving grounds with a crossbow to find some birds to hunt. She found a large pidgeon. But it took three shots to hit it. "This isn't helping that much." She said. "Maybe I should try to find wild rabbits.

"Keeper"
Just as things seemed to get bad, someone came with help, and that someone was a witch queen herself. Cole watched as she dealt with the culprit, but had to interrupt with one question in mind.

“Did you kill everyone in this village.”

“Of course I did! That’ why I…”

“Ah, you didn’t , so big building houses them right now, thanks!” He interrupted her, and immediately went towards building he wanted to check earlier. Leaving two witches behind, while one was baffled.

“W-what? H-how?”

Raina Crow
Raina watched it all chuckling, though it was a good question – how did that Cole know she lied.

Sadly she had to take a look at someone else who seemed to have decided to hint rabbits near her home, Raina wondered whether to scare her a little or maybe do something else.

Queen Ea

Ea took a look around a village and spotted a larger building the man from before may have possibly went into. She made her way there as the other buildings seemed to bear no souls. However there were pesky crows flying around her and getting in her way. She proceeded to paralyze them one by one. It was very odd behavior on the side of the crows as if someone had commanded them to do this. She began to try to track whether there was a magical influence in the area.

Mayu Avalie

Mayu had gone to her room and turned on the TV. The news was on. They spoke of a law that didn't pass the week before and that the nationalist party that proposed it, wanted to petition it to the queen herself. It was about banning any language that wasn't Akasian in schools.

"Ea would never agree to that." Mayu mumbled. She knew that Ea turned down pretty most anything the nationalist party proposed, despite the nationalist party being a successor to the banned Church of Ea, which deified Ea and committed terrorist attacks against non-Akasians and "heretics". Ea not only banned them, but made it illegal to form a religion that deified her.

Mayu in a way felt bad for Ea, as she had to deal with so many problems.

Queen Ea

Finally the crows disappeared and the magic in the air disappeared. Someone had noticed Ea's suspicion. Ea finally could move on to the large building. Once there, she noticed that all the villagers were there and many were in a bad shape yet would survive it. Then she spotted a man giving a deathly ill man a potion of some sort. "What are you doing?" Ea asked as she approached him.

Mayu Avalie

Mayu decided to take a stroll through the city. In town, there were some people eyeing her. There was still some anti-witch sentiment despite Ea being one herself. Or at least there was sentiment towards witch-to-bes as they tended to be trouble makers. Mayu wanted to buy an apple, but the seller gave her a mean tone. A royal witch appeared behind her and said: "If I were you, I'd avoid being hissy. She is only trying to buy something." "It doesn't matter. These young witches tend to steal my wares." The seller said. The witch replied: "She gave you money, right? That isn't stealing." "Sorry. I wasn't thinking right." The man said.

Mayu turned around to thank the witch. It was a witch wearing a sleeveless black turtleneck top, black shorts, black thigh highs, a cape and a hat. She was about ten years Mayu's senior. "Thank you." Mayu said. The witch then replied: "No problem. Witches deserve some dignity, even when they are supposed to be a little rotten before transformation."

OOC: Sorry. I was busy the past few days.

Queen Ea

"A healers potion? Interesting. By the looks of it, it must be rather potent. Would you tell me who you had it from or would you rather keep that a secret? How about I look at the person?" Ea said. She looked at the person and noticed that a curse was receding. "Interesting." She said. She would however need to keep an eye on this Cole guy. Either he got the potion from a witch or sorcerer or he could be an alchemist.

Mayu Avalie

Mayu was walking through town when she suddenly felt weird. Was the transformation already starting or do some symptoms precede the transformation? She had to talk to Ea about it.

“Yes, yes a healers potion!” Cole exclaimed, following her trail of thought bit too vividly. Quickly he regained composure, the one who made this potion was him…and a colleague of his, that he happens trust.

“Well, I’d rather not tell, the one who gave it to me was very…intent on keeping identity a secret..” He sighed, remembering how his friend couldn’t help but comment that one day Cole would be the one to spill beans out.

“Oh, though I doubt it will be enough, the potion I mean – it is very strong, and should deal just fine with weak curse…but if the girl had an innate potential…well…I believe Queen Ea has no need for me telling it.”

Raina Crow

Raina decided to use this small window of opportunity to visit town she known so well from past, she walked and walked taking note of changes that had transpired since the last time she was here – for example there was a new place called Haven’s Smith, not her place but Magical Wonders that happened to be right beside it was an interesting sight as well. Sadly it was closed at the moment.

Magical Wonders, what a terrible name… - she thought, and went further through the town, through the crowds, until she felt a change…

Magic spike, bad news possibly, and I still don’t know how to prevent cocoon phase from ever occurring…

Raina searched for the source, and found it…a girl that she earlier eavesdropped upon when she talked to Queen Ea, though it was brief no one would miss such a light colored hair. Raina simply stared at her, for now not interacting – unless she would be seen.

"I will accelerate the healing, then." Ea said and held her hands over the man. A white light appeared under her hands and the symptoms quickly faded. "I will have the royal witches and mages take care of the rest. I still have some business to attend to. If you need to go back to the capital, you can go through the portal with me." She opened a blue portal. Over a dozen people came out of the portal, mostly royal witches. Ea waited for the answer of Cole.

Mayu Avalie

Mayu headed back to the palace to seek out Ea. But Ea seemed to be gone on business. She decided to wait, hoping for Ea to come back soon.

OOC: Mayu didn't notice Raina. Maybe have Raina follow her to the palace and accidentally be discovered by Ea.

Watching someone as skilled as Queen herself was an interesting sight to say the least, though Cole was bit worried about what might have happened to that girl from before he.

When asked whether he wants to go back with Queen Ea, he was bit reluctant.

“Well, that would be great, but…you’re a Queen and I’m just...just merchant.” He would go if that had not been a problem - something that only he might see as problem.

Raina Crow

Raina followed girl, wondering why she would go there – only to answer this rather obvious question quickly.

What a dummy I am sometimes, Queen is who this girl wants to see, I’d love to avoid Ea but that girl could use some help…

Conflicted Raina slowly approached girl, knowing that if phase began little can be done, but there’s always something that can be done, yet at the end she spoke nothing, simply stared at her from a smaller distance, too close – for it was closer than the usual safe space that Raina set around the palace to keep avoiding Ea.

OOC - Np, happens :)

Cole Renhedge

Cole should’ve expected this reaction, for he heard a bit about Queen Ea. Meeting her in person was still, quite different than what one could expect. Looking at the portal he took a deep breath and stepped through.

It was a weird feeling, going through it, as if you were nothing for a moment – at least that’s how he felt it. Now he saw Queen Ea once more, and two other…people, one of the two he knew well.

What’s she doing here? Most of the time I see her is outside capital…

Raina Crow

Raina continued to watch girl that seemed to come here in dire need- need that Raina suspects to be cocoon phase. Raina was too focus on girl to notice a small change around her, as if some magic was used – for portal was opened.

I wonder what change will there be with help, I doubt it will be meaningful at all…

"Is something the matter?" Ea asked Mayu. Mayu then responded: "I am feeling weird, a bit sickly." "Then your transformation may have started earlier. If so, then you will feel tired and eventually fall into a day long slumber. You skin will harden and turn grey. You will look like stone until you hatch into a new, more mature you with potent magical powers."

Mayu was somewhat shocked. Transformation this early? Anyways it would have come sooner or later.

Without turning to her Ea called out Raina: "I know you are there Raina. No need to try hiding. I just want to know what brought you here."

OOC: The heat wave is killing me. Has been like 105°F (40°C) here for a week now.

Queen Ea/Mayu Avalie

Reacting to Raina's words, Ea said: "Well that is harsh. I believe somewhere deep inside of you, you don't harbor such disdain for me. But anyways, I hope you are staying out of trouble, otherwise I will have to... hehe... capture you. Just because I give witches freedoms doesn't mean I don't keep an eye on them. If you want to stay, you are welcome to stay on palace grounds. I will never hate any of my children and apprentices." It may have been true that Ea may be a little too watchful for some witches comfort, but in her view it was all for good intention as a malaligned witch can be dangerous to normal people.

Mayu meanwhile was in her room and had changed into her nightgown to go to sleep and hope the transformation wouldnt be noticed. Once she laid down, she grew more and more tired and finally fell asleep with her skin slowly turning grey indicating the transformation had begun.

Ea turned to Cole. "Why don't you stay for dinner? Raina can tag along too. I would like to get to know you better. You two can walk the palace grounds or get comfortable in the lounge while I finish some business and put on something more fine." Ea said to Cole and Raina.

Ea went to her office where a representative of parliament was waiting to address her. "My queen, we would like to pass a law banning non-Akasian languages in general education." The man said. Ea responded: "Denied." "But we need..." The man interjected. Ea's voice became louder: "It didn't pass last week and even if it had passed, I would never sign such a law. It endangers national stability and is a profoundly malignant ethnic nationalist move." The man tried to argue with her: "Do not fight me. It wont end for you well and any actions against me from your party can fatally backfire. You are already on a thin line after I banned your church. You are lucky I am not an iron fist ruler otherwise I could turn you to ash in an instant!"

A cold shiver ran down the man's spine. He was very aware of what Ea was capable of and knew she has been very lenient so far. "I understand, my queen. We will not pester you with this petition any further." The man bowed and left hastily.

Ea wondered if what the outcomes would have been had she remained an absolute monarch. Sometimes representatives had no regard for the citizens, stability or social order.

Raina listened to Ea, all while biting lip and crossing arms, for no matter what Ea says, Raina will dislike her. Sadly now a conflicting situation arose, situation in which all interesting people are gathered in one place, and she was sure that, ifCole were to be invited by Queen to stay, he would never refuse – he’s just terrible at refusing.

In the end she simply stood, waited for what Cole would choose to do, if he stays, she will stay.

Cole Renhedge

Cole was bit surprised that Queen Ea wanted him to stay for dinner, thanks to simple invite questions came to his mind, and one of them was… did she notice? If she did, it would be a matter of minutes before she finds out, he only hoped she did not realize his secret.

“Uh, that’s unexpected, b-but of course I’ll stay if Queen asks to…” He started, and noticed Ea leaving off to somewhere, possibly taking care of another business, he in the meantime… stayed where he was.

He stood there, checking his pockets – supposedly making sure everything is where it should, that he had nothing to worry about, all while he wrestled with possibilities in his mind, unpleasant possible outcomes and then…

Raina poked him, when there was no reaction, she tickled him, and that made now sweaty Cole chuckle.

“You are… just terrible. I know where things are here, so we can just wait at the bench nearby.” Raina grabbed his hand and once more lead the way, like she did when he was saved by her.

Cole expected Queen to have great cooks, but he did not expect an invitation to a ceremony. Ceremony that he longed to see since he heard of it from an old woman, but question was… why would she of all people invite them… a question to which he had no certain answer.

“That’s… unexpected, I’d be honored…” He managed to say, before being interrupted by Raina's yawn, who found ceremony as a boring event in lives of witches.

“Uh, I’d like to ask… how…could you tell me a bit about the ceremony itself? I heard that it is a rather fragile, that one can easily ruin it, but is it true, and if it is true, is it really that easy to…”

Raina Crow

Raina Crow only cared about the onion soup part, at least at the begging for as time passed, as they ate and as Cole couldn’t control his excitement by constantly asking about the details of the ceremony… chance to tag along grew to be more interesting, dangerous chance to annoy Queen for once.

She would say nothing, but decision was made, she will tag along.

OOC - Well, this is a terrible post ^^

Queen Ea

Ea listened to Cole: “Uh, I’d like to ask… how…could you tell me a bit about the ceremony itself? I heard that it is a rather fragile, that one can easily ruin it, but is it true, and if it is true, is it really that easy to…”

"It can be ruined, but basically the ceremony involves me dipping my hand in the shrines holy water, touching Mayu's forehead and the other witches chanting an incantation. The actual ceremony only takes about 20 minute, but the feast and the reception afterwards however are included as rites. But tomorrow, I will have the royal tailors discuss your apparel with you for the village since it is a rule to wear traditional clothing." Ea said. "That said, you might enjoy the village as it has many facilities considered to be luxuries, but we in fact rather common in the old days. The village has a private beach on the nearby lake, a sauna, a massage parlor, large sleeping quarters with bamboo mats and heating, lots of trees and gardens and a couple of traditional taverns. If you want souvenirs, you have the option to get those too. For the ceremony, it is request you stay at least three days, but you can stay up to 10 days."

"I will have everything arranged then." Ea said. They finished their dining and went about their business for the next two days until Mayu finally woke up out of her slumber.

Mayu opened her eyes as the cocoon around her dissolved. She felt different. She was taller and her chest was big. Next to her was Ea. "I have expected you to wake up." Ea said. "Let's get you into some clothes and make the final preparations to embark to the royal village."

Mayu put on a robe Ea gave her and followed her down the hallway to a room where the tailor awaited her. There she chose a short pleated skirt and sleeveless top for starters. Then while Mayu was selecting her outfit for the royal village, Ea made her way to notify the others that Mayu had awakened.

Raina tricked people for the last two days, and the most enjoyable tricked one was the one who fell into a pit. On a third day she intended to read a book, but who they waited for awakened, she could feel it, and so with a sigh she had to look for the annoying brat.

A brat as she liked to call Cole, too excited for something boring. Which made her wonder, why am I even going there? A question in mind left unanswered, for she found him… as always in a middle of selling small trinkets and potions, or rather he tried.

“No, no, no, that’s way too much for such a potion, I can get better from the witches!” An old man said, Cole chuckled for he knew him well, always trying to bargain whenever they meet. Twice he fell for his pleas of help and constant mentioning of back pain, Cole made a mistake back then… for this man tended to sell the cheap things he bought, for a higher price at a later time.
“If that’s the case, feel free to visit witches, though I guarantee you won’t find a better one.” He smiled, and knew it was true, his alchemy was better, at least better than most things that witches can make these days. Sadly, his smile grew weak, as he noticed a familiar face behind the old man.

Crow, she simply grabbed the old man and whispered something into his ear… whatever it was, it made him leave rather quickly.

“Cole, time to go, she’s awake.”

“A-already? Alright, I need to pack…” He started, but she just grasped his hand and pulled towards the direction she felt Ea's presence.

“No time, quite sure she’s looking for us.”

Ea found the other two and said: "I guess you already got the news. I recommend you start packing. As soon as everyone is packed and ready, we will head to the royal ancestral village. We can change on the way or when we get there. The travel time will be about six hours. Four with the high speed train and another two by bus and then about fifteen minutes per sedan chair, foot or horseback whichever you prefer. There is no direct road, just a path, as it is suppose to enjoy tranquility."

(OOC: I should be able to respond to the next post rather quickly.)

"Why won't we just use a portal? Few minutes of travel at best, unless you’re bad at using them Queen.” Raina said. Ea was slightly irritated by the way she said the last word. "Because the long way is nicer as we can see the landscape change and stuff. Plus a portal over that distance needs lots of energy, especially if it is supposed to appear in front of the village and not inside a wall, the ground or high up in the air. Precision requires a lot of energy and the further away, the more difficult it gets. Sure I could probably easily make it happen but it will be very inconvenient for me. What I can do is make a portal to a train station along the way and maybe cut travel time in half." Ea said.

Ea didn't want to do the portal too because of security concerns as the further the distance to travel by portal, the magic needed to make it goes up exponentially. At that distance, you could slay a dragon with that amount of magic. Using so much magic would also exhaust her and make her more vulnerable to possible attempts on her life, because anything could happen.

Raina couldn’t help but grin, at the sight of slight annoyance she caused to Queen. She understood very well why Ea chose not to use a portal, but…

“That is why you my Queen, always have to waste time.” She learned how to prevent the problem of exhaustion, though she won’t tell that.

Cole could see her having fun, though what worried him was… how badly it could end.

“You know, I don’t mind much these few hours, we might eve-“ He didn’t get to finish...

“Shut up, I’m not talking to you, Cole.” Raina spoke through teeth, glaring at him as if she was going to kill him at this very moment.

She didn’t, she simply smiled, and stared at Queen Ea again.

“Well, seems like we’re going to waste time, as the Queen wishes.”
