Introduction

The ones left must protect each other as well as themselves. The zombies may be mindless but they are evolving into new and more hazards breads.

The year is 2021 and an outbreak of mentally dysfunctional patients has accrued. Several organisations and religious groups are calling the situation a zombie apocalypse. The police are insisting that this false information is not true and that the situation is under control and will be stopped.

The year is 2022 and the outbreak has been going for 10 months and is only getting worse. Survivors are being put into groups and sent away many never to see their family or friends again.

1 group of 25 survivors have been evacuated to an island called Areneria. There are not many buildings on the island so the people mostly live in tents. The island has so far has had no known reports of the outbreak. Food is scarce on the island and meds even more so. Many of the women are required to be pregnant almost constantly as baby death rates are very high. Many people die and are disposed of by cremation. You will play one of these people as they continue to survive.

Map:http://s1085.photobucket.com/albums/j429/darkwisle/?action=view&current=Areneria.jpg

Factions:

Areneria Real Military:
The Areneria Real Military or A.R.M. is primarily made up of ex-soldiers. Sometimes A.R.M. get new recruits from the people who think there up to the job but the founders are much better trained. A.R.M. have most of the guns on the island and most of the ammo. Usually they use Sub-machine guns and handguns but they have some old rifles too. They also make there own ammo so they don’t run out but the ammo they brought is better. Most of their work is clearing animals from the camps but it gives the people a feeling of safety.

Band of Bullets:
The Band of Bullets are a fierce gang who will stop at nothing to get what they want. They have taken to killing the residents of the island for fun. They also steal supplies from A.R.M. and residents on the island. These sick people keep a zombie as a pet that they captured. They keep it in a tent and feed it with members of the gang. They aim to get of the island and find more members for their gang to grow stronger and make an empire.

Zombies: (will be updated)

Common:
Zombie - A basic zombie. Must disable brain.
Rotting Zombie - May be missing limbs. Has very weak body. Must disable brain.
Runner - Faster than most humans. Must disable brain.

Mark was in the canteen eating some fruit. He was also listening to some old radio clips.
An outbreak of mentally dysfunctional patients has begun. Several organisations and religious groups are calling the situation a zombie apocalypse. The police are insisting that this is false information and the situation is under control and will be stopped. Do not be alarmed but make sure you stay safe as there has been reports of these people attacking innocent bystanders.

Mark knew that these radio clips were not doing him any good but he still likes to blame the police for this. As he looked around he did not see anyone complaining about the clips so he started the next one.
The outbreak has been going for 10 months and is only getting worse. Survivors are being put into groups and sent away many never to see their family or friends again...

Mark turned this one of after the first couple of sentences. It made him think about the feeling of knowing he would soon be taken away from his family and be separated from everyone he knew.

Elliott was quite sure he'd lost weight since he first came to the island, considering the shortage of food. At this very moment he was seated in the canteen, not too far from Mark, poking his ration with a slightly dissatisfied face. He jumped a little as the ex-army man played the first radio clip, not prepared for the sudden loud noise over the previously low murmur of people talking to each other.

"The outbreak has been going for 10 months and is only getting worse. Survivors are being put into groups and sent away many never to see their family or friends again..."

"Feeling any better?" he couldn't help asking as Mark abruptly ended the radio clip. No matter what the man's original intention had been by listening in, it was quite obviously having a quite depressing effect on those who cared to pay attention.

Himself, unfortunately, included. How a civilized world could have stooped to such a low level was beyond him – it wasn’t too long ago since he’d been seated in a comfortable chair with a nice cuppa beside him and good music streaming from the radio. Hadn’t it been for the amount of travel his previous work demanded, he probably would have been one of those things now, and wasn’t that a happy thought.

“No disrespect intended, but I think it would be better to listen to those on your own, unless you want to further inconvenience those who are faint at heart.”

Mark looked at the man sitting near him. The man looked rather smart.
"I'm sorry, am I making you feel faint? Well drink some water and shut up."
Mark felt like the man was being rude to ask him to stop. The radio clips were not too loud. If people didn't want to here they can shove off.

As he switched on the next clip the radio device made a crackle.
"Darn!"
Mark smacked the device of the table. It hit the floor hard and smashed open. Mark laid his head on the table in front of him.

"Faint? Hardly." Elliott replied. "However, I would keep in mind that not all of the inhabitants of this island are hardened army men like yourself," he gave a nod towards the younger crowd inside the canteen, indicating what he was speaking of. "Do forgive me, though, if you find my request unnecessary."

He continued to move his food around on his plate, sighing slightly. It wasn't a wonder that Mark felt angry - Elliott had long lost count of how long they'd been there. Mostly because of his inability to sleep properly in those blasted tents, mucking up his sleeping rhythm after only a few days. Even so, he couldn't help but to wonder if there was something more beneath that anger than simple aggression caused by the lack of knowledge concerning their current situation.

"Darn!"

His lips twitched into a slight smile as the man smashed the device off of the table, drinking his water as he'd suggested. And, mostly because Mark had found it proper to be rude in his response, though it could be taken as a well-intended gesture, Elliott simply had to ask.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"It's my family. Gone!" Mark told the man. "My wife in particular. It's her birthday, or it would be. I don't even know if she is alive out there!" Mark shed a tear but quickly wiped it away. "It's kind of silly but I sit here and hope to get a signal. One sign that life still goes on out there." Mark looked at the man who was listening to him.

Elliott was surprised Mark actually decided to answer, and more so at the answer he gave. Not that he'd made any particular thoughts about what sort of man he assumed he was, apart from the natural first impression deductions that everyone made upon meeting someone for the first time. Still, he hadn't really expected him to be a married man. It seemed silly, now, of course.

Moving closer, so that he was sitting just opposite to the man. No need to have too much of a conversation over long distance, especially on such a tender matter. Though he wasn't particularly fond of people himself, there was no reason why he shouldn't pretend to be.

"I know how you feel," he said, putting on his best face of compassion. "Many of us are left with nothing but the hope that our loved ones are well, somewhere out there. To hope for a sign, even in the most ridiculous of places, isn't uncommon."

"I have a daughter, myself." he lied, giving one of those fond smiles one would expect from a father thinking of his only child. "Lucy. She was out of country with her mother when, well. When it all happened." He folded his hands together on the table, twisting them awkwardly as if he was doing his best not to think of what could have happened to his little girl.

"Point being," he said, clearing his throat, "I'm sorry if I was rude earlier. It's easy to forget that you're not the only one in pain."

Silence was nice for once, aside from the occasional soft chatting around him in the canteen. So long as they did not make any attempt at approaching the loner, there was no reason to be making scenes. Besides, he was too sucked up in his thoughts to be bothered anyway.

With another smoke from his cigarette, Kevin shook his head, poking with his fork in the dirt what was called meal. He shouldn't be complaining, it was all he'd get to eat, and it wasn't a new thing for him. If you travel light, you'll occasionally get these meals thrown at your face. So with slow movements Kevin finished the remains of his breakfast, or lunch, or whatever you wish to call it.

- "The outbreak has been going for 10 months and is only getting worse. Survivors are being put into groups and sent away many never to see their family or friends again..."

His thoughts were erased when a loud cracking noise filled the canteen. The direction? Of course, what else would it be then a pretend-to-be soldier? The man certainly appeared that way for Kevin anyway. "Groups. A bunch of sheep hurled together and then packed for a flight to wherever." The man shoved his plate aside, rolling his eyes at the message once more.

"That's generic human thinking I suppose..." Byte gave a final glare at the man with his radio, rolling his eyes as another one attempted to get a conversation going with said man. He finished his cigarette and cropped the left over in the ashtray, the cigarette making one final soft sizzle before completely being silenced, before reaching for his deck of cards and shuffling it for a solitary game...

[On the other side of the island]

Gunshots filled the air but soon were silenced. Moans and yells of help were all left as Band of Bullets members ran out of their stronghold on the edge of the island. This was properly just them going out to do there regular trouble making. This time however they weren’t prepared. No guns in sight no dynamite and no riot shields.

Out from behind the gang came several other people. These people didn't look like gang members or normal humans. These weren’t people at all...

These were zombies!

"Well," Elliott said, as the man decided not to answer. "Good talk."

He stood up, bringing the tray with him to be washed, and stepped outside the canteen. It seemed like a calm day, he noted, walking quietly down towards the camp, bringing out a small coin to play with on the knuckles of his fingers. Some of the people that had not yet taken their ration were headed in the opposite direction, giving him a slight nod of greeting as they passed. Strange, he thought to himself. Had they known what I am, they would have preferred to have me killed on the spot. Even though, he supposed, someone with his talents could be very valuable in times like this.

As he reached his tent, he brought a small notebook out of an inner pocket of his jacket, making a note of the name he'd given his fake daughter, and any other information he'd come up with during his conversation with the man back in the canteen. Sentimental information such as that was valuable in order to gain the needed basis for proper persuasion, should he be in need of it later. And, well. Considering their current situation, he wouldn't be surprised if that happened soon.

Mark sat by himself thinking about the man he had spoke too. He had almost finished his meal by now. He had his last few bites of apple and stood up out of his chair. He scanned the room a saw a few people still entering the canteen. Sitting across the room ther was some people eating and chatting quietly.

He made his way towards the door only stopping to place his tray on a desk with the others waiting to be cleaned. The air outside was fresh and the skys where calm. There isn't a problem with polution on the island as they produced very little gases. Most of the power produced by the island was used to work the equipment in the labs.

Sitting down in front of his tent, Elliott wondered briefly how he was ever going to survive this calm. True, there had been calm days in his previous life, but they had always been filled with excitement and anticipation of what was to come next. Not to mention the fact that he'd usually have access to a wide selection of books, or other sources of entertainment that he might have deemed to be preferable.

The most entertaining thing about this place was waiting how long it took before people started to kill each other and, well, considering the goodie-two-shoes he'd been stranded with, that was probably going to take a while.

Elliott sighed, resisting the urge to run a hand through his hair out of frustration. There had to be something he could do, that didn't involve that blasted form of manual labour they insisted on forcing everyone to partake in around here. Throwing a quick glance upwards towards the canteen, he noticed the man he'd spoken to earlier coming out. An interesting fellow, in his opinion - though Elliott mostly wondered how long it would take him to break. Isolation could do strange things to the mind.

"God, I'm bored," he complained.

Without paying too much attention to others, Kevin did note that the want-to-be soldier and his conversation partner, left the canteen briefly after their exchange of words. It didn't matter much, it wasn't like Byte would be having a go at starting a conversation with anyone on this pathetic island.

Not shortly after wrapping up his card game, Kevin noted that he should be outside, looking for people who needed his services. Of course, as long as they could provide him with something as well. So, giving the chair he sat on a soft kick, he left the canteen. The sunlight obstructing his view, the second Kevin set foot out the small building.

Before attempting to find some providing odd jobs, Kevin dropped by his own tent, tossing the pack of cards into a small, brown, leather satchel. Quite a basic tent, there was nothing except a bedroll, a battery-powered light, and Kevin's personal luggage. A deep, and heavy growl left the man's mouth. How long would this chaotic event take? Months? Years? Centuries? Kevin gave up hope on the government long ago, they didn't act on it back then, and they surely wouldn't act on it now. Anarchy, although the A.R.M. still had some strings attached to these mindless refugees. That would change sooner, or later...

Boredom. Boredom. Boredom. This was getting dangerous.

Elliott continued to twirl his coin over his knuckles for a while, watching as people went on about their daily business. Working, talking, doing their best to survive and forget why they were all here. Trying to forget whether or not their loved ones had survived, or if the survivors were the same people they left behind.

Well. Enough was enough. Rising from his seat, Elliott bent down to pick up an abandoned shovel, and continued walking, as nobody seemed to mind. As those who saw him assumed he had been given a mission of manual labour or the like, he wasn't hindered in passing through the camp, and very few noticed him as he slipped outside of sight.

His suit jacked was discarded and left on the ground as he lifted the shovel in a defensive stance. He imagined an opponent, someone he would be likely to meet during his time on the island - and found himself faced with some young arse from the Band of Bullets, with a gun pointed in his direction.

The punk smiled, grinned even, as he raised the gun to level with Elliott's head. He hadn't expected the older man to take a quick step to the left, smashing the edge of the point into the poor boy's neck. He moved quickly to make sure his imaginary adversary was dead, and continued to up the difficulty for himself from that point on, swinging the shovel like a blade.

In a real life situation he would now have been in possession of a gun, but it would also have been more difficult to get it - even though he had been trained not to panic, and make use of his adrenaline, it was difficult to keep a calm mind with a gun to your head. Even more so, if faced with the prospect of being mauled to death by the deranged "undead".

Elliott continued to train for a good while, happy to have found some way to keep himself entertained while the dreary day continued around him.

[At the canteen]

A group of man ran towards the canteen building. These men were wearing leather and denim jackets and some were wielding small pocketknives. Many broke of from the group and headed for the centre of the camp.
"Holy shit!" women yelled from inside the canteen.
"We aren’t here to kill you or we would of done it by now!" The gang member was telling the truth. "There has been an... Accident over at our camp." He said slowly.
"What kind of accident?" A man shouted.

"Well, Trevar was keeping an infected. It was in a tent safely kept away from anyone." The crowd gasped at the informant. "It kind of escaped from the tent and now the whole area is filled with them. Only about a quarter of us escaped from our camp and our leader has been taken!" The man told them all. "Now please can you find place in your hearts to get us some weapons to sort it out?" The man pleaded. "If you don't then they will be on their way. I don't think it will take log for them to get here as well." He added.

(A horde of zombies is approaching the main encampment.)

Made another filler post. I need a life.

Re: [OOC] Zed Dead: Zombie Arrival

Sounds like an interesting twist - looking forward to it (:

Re: [OOC] Zed Dead: Zombie Arrival

I think that the gang members that ran from ther camp will arrive. They will tell the tales of the zombies and blame their bosses for keeping the zombies help in a small room.

Re: [OOC] Zed Dead: Zombie Arrival

@ Archklan:
You don't have them? I thought you had them! Don't tell me you've lost them?!

I agree, we should probably introduce some sort of plot soon, otherwise I fear there will be a lot more filler posts ahead, which may turn boring after a while - whether the zombies attack or we discover that someone in the camp has been secretely stealing rations from the others.

Re: [OOC] Zed Dead: Zombie Arrival

@Timothy:
Where do I find those god forsaken pills?! TELL ME!!!

@lewdug97:
What posting? How utterly absurd! I don't bow down to the whims of a mere mortal!
BEHOLD! THE RANDOM IDIOT'S POWERS!

EDIT: Okay, imagination.. less? Sorry if my post sounds fairly vague, but I think there is need for a plot, soon! I NEED SOMETHING TO WORK WITH NAOW!

Re: [OOC] Zed Dead: Zombie Arrival

Take the cyanide pill! They can't as questions if you're dead! Muahaha!

Re: [OOC] Zed Dead: Zombie Arrival

Not at all, mate. I was talking about the RPs I saw passing by yesterday evening/night. don't be confused, or offended, or both. TIMOTHY HELP! I AM BEING INTERROGATED!

*ahum*

Don't worry your head over such a trivial thing I posted here, just my good ol' habit of ranting on shitty RPs. And hey, if I thought this RP was dumb, would I have joined?

Has this got anything to do with the RP? Sorry im just a bit comfused. Are you saying that the RP is dumb?

Re: [OOC] Zed Dead: Zombie Arrival

Though I can't speak on the behalf of everyone, as I can't read minds, I think it's safe to say that we all understand that real life gets in the way of roleplaying, and it's completely understandable.

Also, they're going to roleplay famous people on facebook? I don't... I just... What? The appeal, I do not see it.

Re: [OOC] Zed Dead: Zombie Arrival

Oi, apologies for neglecting activity. School, new role play, shit like that. Plus I needed to rant on a few sparkling vampire emo highschool roleplays, as well as this retarded advertisement for a facebook role play. *Ahem* I'll try to get a post up soon enough. Once more my sincere apologies.

Re: [OOC] Zed Dead: Zombie Arrival

Well, i will say when big hoprdes of zombies are approaching any characters. However you may kill the odd one or two if you want. As to killing them, you can kill as many as you want aslong as you don't go to far. For example you can't just see a horde and wipe out all of them. No one person can wipe out zombies of more than about 5 in numbers.

Re: [OOC] Zed Dead: Zombie Arrival

Out of interest, what is the GM's rules concerning fighting? I read the earlier posts suggesting some sort of point system on abilities, but I didn't catch whether or not this was actually meant to be used. I'm just wondering whether you'll allow us to kill as many zombies as we like, whether you'd want to control most of them, or what your plans are in general (:

Re: [OOC] Zed Dead: Zombie Arrival

Ahem, I mean. That's cool. I'll try to post something as soon as I can.
