Samantha Adams

Age: 23 Years

Height: 5'6

Weight: 108 lbs

Hair: Dark brown, cut short. Though, this isn't by wish of a style or choise. While working on the job, Sam and her partner Sean responded to a 911 call about an apartment fire. Arriving before the Fire trucks, and unable to simply wait until more help arrived, the two decided to go in and get whomever they could, out. All was fine until a window shattered, creating a gust of wind that lept into Sam's hair, melting it and the baseball cap. She was lucky to have even this much hair left. The blue bangs were her own quirk, a splash of color that wasn't 'red'.

Eyes: Pale blue, like iceburgs.

Distinguishing Marks: There are several scattered about her body. The most remarkable is the tattoo, which she had drawn herself, and had inked onto her skin from a frien she went to college with. While she had it done when she was ninteen, it took nearly a year to complete between sessions; and the only piece she plans to have. The other marks are scars: two from bullets, one in the shoulder, the other in the stomach, and three created by blades; all aquired in two, very hard years.

Dress: Outside of her work uniform, Sam seeks comfort. She prefers to wear jeans over all else, as well as tshirts and sweaters. She isn't one to carry a purse; instead, packed with the few bare essentials, she shoulders a gray messenger bag with the Batman logo on the front. Her shoes are normally boots or tennis shoes, and while her clothes are casual, she's far past the scrubby college phase most her age pass through. She wears no jewelry, save for her father's thumb ring, which is kept on a small chain around her neck. Recently, she's kept the necklace in her nightstand.

Profession: Paramedic, for the Seattle Fire Department, District 16

Hobbies: Sam's life has been far from simple or easy. At an early stage, she was forced to grow up fast, burdened with responsibilities and emotions that she wasn't certain how to handle. She picked up drawing to help release these tensions. When her brother died in an automobile accident, Sam picked up singing, needing a new outlet. The violin picked up a few years later, after her second brother's death, as well as singing when her father was murdered just over two years ago. She's a creative person who seeks outlets, since she tends to bottle things deep within.

Family:

Samantha's brother, Alexander and Brian, were both killed at an early age. A.J was only twelve when their car was hit by a drunk driver; smashing into her brother's side. And the eldest, Brian, was killed by a petty thief, who stabbed him to steal the $36 in his wallet. Sam was young, she saw more blood than most nine year olds, and instead of fearing it, she became determined. Her father, James Silas Adams, was a doctor. The best in the East Coast. He ran his own practition, and instead of catoring to the needs of the wealthy and elite, he opened his doors to everyone. Several food banks, blood banks and shelters were opened by his funding and support, and the man quickly became a saint to New York's working class. He was later murdered, when Samantha was twenty one when she was finished with college. Suffication, with no evidence. They soon shut down the case.

Sam's mother wasn't around much. She was labled as "America's Sweetheart" at the begining of her career as an actress, and fell quickly into stardom. The loss of her husband and children weakened the woman, who now surrounds herself with cameras, fans, and anyone willing to give her attention. Following Isabella Adams, is the youngest remaining child, Heather. She's fourteen years old, never knowing her eldest brother Brian, and for catoring around with her mother all these years, she's sharp and out going; more than her older sister; but with a strong grip or reality. Like Sam, she wanted to get into the medical field like her father; her eyes focussed on becoming a nuse for the army.

Basics:

With all the male role models in Sam's life gone, she found herself drawn close to the man she met four years ago. An ex-Marines, twice her age, looking impossibly like Bruce Willis with a bloody past of his own. They were kindred spirits; each trying to redeam their pasts, each supporting the other through life and the difficult times. Even outside of work, the two are together: taking karate classes, getting coffee, watching the Seahawks games, or visiting the local dive bar "Hal's" that all the officers and firemen like to visit on their off hours. Spending so much time together, at first, caused a scandal. Not through the department, everyone who worked besides them knew the truth, understood the unity in having a good partner. But the press.

Samantha's mother was famous, she starred in award winning films, tv comercials, owned her own brand of perfume and had an autobiography out. She was always sucking the attention from the press; even her oldest, on the opposite side of the states, and when they caught wind of where she worked, it wasn't uncommon for the news to get a little enthusiastic with speaking with her. One reported, by the name of Joe Gibson, was especially eager to get Sam on film. All offers were refused, and for a time Sam had to sneak to get anywhere, avoiding the paparatzis that were nothing more than curious voltures. They struck hard, when her mother sprung a surprise visit, followed along with a film crew that had every intention of filming a reality show. It rated well enough to host reruns, but the two episodes had Sam avoiding them at all costs.

Not even six months later, the city sighed and welcomed a new disaster. Impossible crimes were being performed, the death toll was rising, victems of murder and rape were pilling high, and now a curfew was circulating, waiting for approval to take into effect. As if things weren't complicated enough already.
"Ah! I'm fed up-: But, dear Satan, a less fiery eye I beg you!
And while awaiting a few small infamies in arrears,
you who love the absence of the instructive or descriptive faculty in a writer,
for you let me tear out these few hideous pages from my notebook
of one of the damned."
