The year of 1902 was a quiet one in Baron Belfois' household, the servants few but competent and the task evenly distributed between the staff in a way that would not overtax any of them. Life was simple for a certain butler of the small manor near Paris, France, and the man by the name of Ludovic Primrose even found a new helping hand to replace the ageing Mr. Dufour, who had caught ill in his old age. The young new servant was to arrive soon, and it was with the hope that the Master would once more be pleased enough of his work that the middle aged butler awaited the new servant of the household, the strict Baron famous for his exacting standards and impeccable tastes making Ludovic strive hard to please his employer.
As a handsome horse led a black carriage up the alley leading to the stately manor, Ludovic dusted his impeccably ironed uniform and descended the stone stairs leading to the now unmoving cab. Opening the door of the cab neatly and efficiently, the graying blond gestured a small bow to the new addition of his staff.
“Welcome to the Manoir Belfois.”
