This is for Imagine That!, Sehnsucht., and myself. Please do not post in here unless your one of us.

Arianna Grant stood in front of her full body mirror in her Victorian-styled bedroom. She titled her head to the side, examining her appearance. She had her TV on MTV and she was listening to, and watching music videos, but nothing she really enjoyed or was paying much attention to. She was home alone, her parents at her little brothers, Landon, soccer game. It was hot and humid outside, it being the middle of July, and she didn't feel like going and sitting outside. Commercials were on the TV, and she went downstairs to grab her a snack. Her parents were dirty rich, her father being a talent scout, and her mother working in a law firm, so the two siblings had a great life growing up. Well, at least Landon did.

As she made her a sandwich, Arianna thought back to her old life, the one she left behind due to her parent's disapproval, and that of her close friends as well. The life she wanted to spend forever with... and that life was her childhood sweetheart. It wasn't all her family and friends' fault, she made the decision to leave him and everything behin and move to a next-door neighborhood. Taking a bite out of her sandwich and going back upstairs, these thoughts brought a smile to Arianna's face. She sat on the edge of her bed Indian-style as the music came back on. Her eyes were glue on her cellphone as she replied back to a friends text, when she heard a vaguely familiar name. She looked at the TV, and her phone fell out of her hands, along with her sandwich. Both dropped on her wooden floor.

When the music video went off, going into commercials, Arianna called her parents, wishing they'd hurry and answer. "Hello" Came her mother, Cindy's voice. "Mom? I'm going back to Elkwood to see Victoria and them, maybe catch a movie tonight, is that alright?" Arianna asked, referring to their hometown. For her 17th birthday, her parents bought her a silver 2010 Cobalt, that she loved and adored and took real good care of. "Okay, but be back before midnight, can you do that?" Her mom asked, and grinning, Arianna replied with a brisk 'yes' and 'I love you', then she hung up. Now, time to decide what to wear. Going into her closet, Arianna rummaged through a closet full of clothes. For a walk-in, it was pretty full. Being a southern girl at heart, she decided to wear a white dress, that hung on her body and showed her feminine curves perfectly, and her dark brown cowgirl boots. She changed real quick from her PJ's to it, and went to her jewelry box. Arianna opened the box and brought out a small black box, she removed the lid and brought out a simple necklace. On the end was a diamond heart, it hung on a silver chain. She remembered the date he gave her the necklace. She then put it on and ran a brush through her hair, letting it fall naturally. Standing back to examine her appearance, she was pleased. Before leaving her house, Arianna grabbed a thing white jacket, in case tempertures dropped, her purse and car keys, and made sure all the lights were off and door were locked.

Arianna then got into her vehicle, buckled up, started it and then headed to Elkwood. She wasn't going to see her friends. The man on her TV brought back wonderful memories, and she just knew then she had to find him. Arianna was going back to search for her sweetheart and win him back, no matter what the cost.
Kill Them With Kindness :D

I got the great news... I'm having a little GIRL!

Ezra Grey was lounging on a beat up couch he had pushed out onto his balcony, soaking up the sun when he heard his own voice drifting in from the TV. A small smile tugged itself onto his face, and he sipped his lemonade contentedly. It was still hard to believe that a few years ago, he had nothing, and now? He had a house all his own out in the middle of no where so that his crazy fans couldn't track him down too easily. He was rich, famous; he didn't even know how to spend his money. That much was obvious to anyone who had been to his place. If any of his fans did manage to find him and walked in, they would probably think they had the wrong house, anyway. It didn't look like much. It was big, sure, but it was fairly empty, and what did fill the house was -for the most part- old, warn out furniture and random cheap little possessions, most of which he'd had for years. The only thing that might give him away were the pictures hanging on the various walls, mostly of him and his family, or his girlfriend, but there was an entire wall dedicated to pictures of him and his fans.

He was finally happy.

He still remembered the girl that got away, way back when. She was living in a town nearby, last he checked, but it had been a while. Every now and again, he wondered how she was doing with her new life. How had she changed since she left him behind? It was almost cruel of her, such a vain reason for leaving behind the boy that had wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with her. He had been too lower class for her, and her family hadn't exactly approved. Now look at him: he was so far up the food chain now, she'd probably love to get her hands on him.

He wanted to say 'too bad, she could never get me back,' he wanted to believe that he was completely over her. But, really, if she were to show up on his doorstep one day, he had no clue what he would do, how we would react... how he would feel. Still, he had a new girlfriend now, and he really did love her, more than anything.

His thoughts were interrupted by the echoing trill of a phone. He hurried inside to pick it up, and smiled at the voice on the other end. "Hi, Mom." It had been a while since Persephone Grey had called him, and it was good to speak with her since after he turned eighteen they'd been talking once a week at the most.

"Ezra, darling, do you think you could come home today?" The woman sounded as if she were about to through a puppy eyed fit.

"Of c-"

"It's just that, your father, he's having the family barbecue today and, well, I know you've got your music thing now but-"

"Mom, I-"

"-but, we miss you. Your sister really wants you to be here. Can you make it? Please?"

Ezra's smile widened and he chuckled quietly. His mother had always been quite the worrier. He thought maybe she would grow out of it; she was, after all, only 35 years old. She had five years left until she was old. He liked to tease her by saying that, anyway. "Yes, Mom, I'll be there. In fact, tell Kisa and Scarelette that I'll take the back way and be there in twenty minutes."

"Oh, goody!" the woman murmured a brief goodbye full of excitement and he could just barely hear her telling someone in the background 'he's coming, he's coming!' before there was a click and his mother's voice was gone. Ezra laughed quietly, shaking his head. Within two minutes, he'd grabbed his sunglasses and car keys and, having texted his girlfriend to tell her where he would be, was headed down the road in his black bmw.

Lorna Gwendolyn Pierce, or as most people knew her as, Lou, was snuggled up in the bright bedroom of her apartment. She had been on call last night at Tulsa Moore Hospital, where she was completing her training to become a full fledge doctor. She was on her second year now of residency, and was enjoying it as much as the next person. Despite the terrible hours, the horrific accidents that she witness and the amount of bodily fluids that had ended up on her body - she loved every moment of being there to help those in need. Being a doctor had been her dream since she was a kid, so now - literally, she was living the dream. Life couldn't be better, and to top it all off - there was Ezra. Not only was he incredibly sweet and gorgeous too, he was a famous rock star. And he had fallen for her. Lorna really had no idea, she was nothing compared to all of the glamour that he was around twenty-four seven; she was one of those girls that was more comfortable snuggled up in pyjamas on the couch watching old comedy, than she was getting drunk in a tight mini-dress. But Ezra was perfect, and she was incredibly happy.

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.

A groan escaped her mouth as a dozy hand flew up from beneath the white bed covers. Soon after, a mop of brown hair tumbled out of the duvet, and soon, her emerald eyes were wincing as she looked at the digital clock. 2:43 PM. Not a bad time. She had gotten in at 7 this morning, so she had slept enough. Her hand fumbled around sleepily until it grabbed her mobile, and her blurry eyes had to adjust quickly, before she could read the message in front of her. Okay. Ezra had been invited over his parents for a barbecue. She was guessing that she was invited too, seeing as she was his girlfriend and all, and loved his family more than her own sometimes. At the thought of seeing him, however, it brightened up her day magically. She flew out of bed and jumped into the shower quicker than you could say "Bob's-your-uncle."

After checking the weather quickly, Lorna decided to thrown on a smart, but casual summer dress, and threw her hair up into a messy bun. She gave her eye-lashes a quick lick of mascara, and after underlining her tired eyes with some eye-liner to make her look more perky, she rushed out of the door, only just remembering to grab the keys to her 1967 Chevy Impala, her handbag and her beeper. The car that she jumped into had once belonged to her father, before he had passed away four years ago - it had been his pride and joy, and Lou had always been there whilst he was washing it, begging to help. So, after his untimely death, it was no surprise that it had been left to her in the will. Before driving off, the brunette pressed the play button on the CD player, and soon The Human League's Don't You Want Me, Baby was blaring from the ancient speakers, and she had tapped a text to her boyfriend.

Hey honey,
I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner, was sleeping - late shift, as you know.
I'm on my way to your parents house now; save a hot dog for me? ;D

After an hour and a half of driving, the surroundings around Arianna started to look familiar. She looked at the time and, after deciding it was too early, decided to go see some of her old friends after all. She drove to Victoria's house, a girl her age she has known for years, since they were in Pre-K. While driving through Victoria's neighborhood, a smile was brought to her face at the familiar scenes and houses. She arrived at the last one, a two-story brick house, with a wrap around porch, and an outstanding garden. It was her mother's hobby; she loved it. Pulling into the driveway, Arianna shut the car off and got out, closing the door behind her. The sun was shining, and there was a light breezy, but it felt amazing.

Walking up the steps onto the porch, and to the front door, she rang the doorbell and knocked lightly, waiting on a response. It had been a while since she had seen or spoken to any of her friends, and distant, family; now she was going to catch up. Little footsteps could be heard inside, and a woman in her mid-40ties telling them to calm down. Arianna smiled, the little footsteps were Victoria's siblings, fraternal twins, Katherine and Jarrett. She loved those kids. She could hear the door opening from the other side, and smiled at Victoria's mom. "Mrs. Smith!" Arianna said, hoping the mother of three recognized her. She did. "Arianna, darling, it's been a long time! Come in, Tori's upstairs." Mrs. Smith said, gesturing Arianna in. Smiling, she took up the offer. She went to wait in the living room, and the 7-year-old boy and girl ran to her, quickly realizing who she was. "Anna!" The twins said in unison, running to tackle her and wrestle the other for the first hugs. "Hey, there are my buddies!" She said, smiling as she hugged both twins tightly. She missed these scenes and her old lifestyle... and of course, Ezra. Her heart lurched in hopes of finding him again.

"Arianna!" Came a familiar scream from upstairs, then footsteps running down the hall, and down the stairs, then there was Victoria. "Tori!" Arianna said as the two old friends embraced. Arianna decided to stay for tea and a light snack as she caught up on stuff with Victoria. After a hour or two passed, Arianna thought it best to head to Ezra's parents house. Last she heard, they loved her, and she hoped the feelings were still the same, even after what happened between her sweetheart and her. Even if he wasn't there, they would know where he was, right?" After saying good-bye to Tori and her family, Arianna got into her car and headed into a new neighborhood, a more middle-class one, but still homey.

She quickly spotted and recognized Ezra's parents house and, instead of parking by the house, she parked a block down. Sitting in her car, Arianna took in a deep breath, checked over herself, and got out, walking to the front door. She opened the screen and knocked, nerves controlling her, her hand clasped over the locket, hoping nothing changed much between the two.

Ezra smiled, looking out the window at his family's home. It seemed like it had been years since he'd seen it, let alone been inside, though he knew that only a few months had passed. Looking around, the familiarity of it all swelled in his chest and he was overcome with a warmth that made his smile glow. The yard still had a short, wooden fence surrounding it, and there was still that one plank of wood that moved about like a teeter totter. He remembered when he was younger, how he and his friends used to use it like a secret mail box. The old, makeshift envelope of stained fabric was still stapled to the bottom of it, but over the years it seemed to have started tearing. Across the street, Mr. and Mrs. Jenson's driveway was dominated by a broken down 1964 Cadillac Coupe Deville, and Ezra almost laughed when he noticed how the thing was still propped up with cement blocks, as if Mr. Jenson was still entertaining the fantasy of repairing it. Well known voices could be heard floating from the backyards and open windows all up and down the street. He was home. For a moment, the young man even thought he saw Arianna driving down the road.

With a dry laugh and a slow shake of his head, Ezra looked down at his hands, wiping the corner of his mouth with his thumb like he always did when he wasn't sure how he should feel about something. At that moment, he received a text message from his girlfriend. Maybe it was a sign. The smile he hadn't even noticed was gone returned to his face as he read over the words, and he quickly tapped out a response.

Will do.
See you soon babe <3

With that, he stepped out of the car and made his way into the source of his welcomed warmth. Less than a second after he was in the door, he was being tackled to the ground by a handful of bodies, all accompanied by the sound of familiar laughs. He had missed those laughs. "Hey, hey! How you doing there, buddy?" Ezra's grin was ear to ear as he ruffled the blond head of his 7 year old cousin, Blake. When he looked up, he welcomed the sight of his sisters and Blake's brother, Tommy, as well as his sister, Ellen. "Oh, I've missed you guys," he practically growled, pulling all five of them in for one giant hug. The group slowly moved their gathering to the backyard -Blake jumping up and down at Ezra's side all the while- where they were greeted by huge smiles and heart warming words of welcome. The big hello lasted all of a few seconds, before Ezra's father stepped in and, as always, brought the moment back down to earth with a loud announcement.

"Second batch of hot dogs, ready to go!" The man's hearty laugh echoed through the air with a pleasant ring, and he brought his son into a one armed hug, spatula still in hand. He was just opening his mouth to say something when there was a knock on the front door, quieting the hustle and bustle of a Grey family barbecue. "Oh," the man chuckled after a moment of silence, "that must be the beautiful girlfriend, eh?"

"No," a quiet voice that no one but Ezra heard, as they were all giggling about the appearance of Lou, spoke up right next to him. He turned to Scarelette, who was speaking in her normal monotone voice full of mystery, and tilted his head slightly, brow furrowed in questioning. "It's Arianna." Ezra's heart suddenly felt like it had been replaced by one of Mr. Jenson's cement blocks. He could only help but wonder if that rusty piece of machinery was now tilted irregularly towards one corner, just waiting to collapse to the ground. Could it be?

He made his was into the house after Blake and his little sister, and to the front door. He wasn't entirely sure what he was hoping for, or who. All he knew was that when that door opened, he froze.

Lorna hummed happily as she sped down the road, her fingers tapping along to the Bon Jovi music that was now playing - she was a sucker for old music, she thought it was better than most of the new stuff that was playing in the charts every day. The only time that she ever listened to the radio itself was when she knew that there would be something about Ezra on there, maybe an interview, or a preview of one of his new songs and she was listening to see the reviews. Although, right now, he wasn't all that busy recording new tracks, so classic tapes it was.

Elkwood was gorgeous in the summer, Lou noticed, like she did ever time she drove through his parent's neighbourhood. She had grown up in Chicago, a large town, and it was nice to be somewhere so simple and beautiful - here, there was no hustle and bustle, there was no violence, no danger when walking down your road, and to top it all of, she was happy here. That gleaming smile stayed stuck on her face as she continued through the neighbourhood, as she thought about how much her life had changed in the last few years. After leaving medical school, she had started at a new hospital, one in a lower Borough of Chicago so that the danger threat was lower. The hours were endless, there was so much violence, and after coming home to her one room apartment every day, Lorna felt that the life was being sucked out of her, and that the things she had seen would come back to torment her in future life, they were that disturbing.
But one day, Ezra Grey came to Chicago on his All-American-States-Tour, and she had tagged along with her friends just for a fun night out. She had heard him on the radio, seen pictures of him, watched interviews, sure, he was handsome and everything, but to her, he just seemed like another one of those cocky pop-star boys. However, at the concert, he picked her to go on stage. After that meeting, everything changed. Instead of sending her back down to the audience, he took her backstage after the show. They spend hours talking, about everything from what pets they had, to whether they preferred white chocolate or milk. It was the start of something fantastic.

Lou soon snapped out of her little day dream as she pulled up near the Grey residence, having to park outside a few houses down, one of the only remaining spots that she could find. Quickly pulling her lip-gloss and perfume out of her handbag, she gave herself a quick spritz and another coating of the gloss, wanting to look her finest. Before she could enter the house however, her beeper sung to itself in her bag. It took her a few moments to find it, along with all of the crap that lived in there, but she pulled it out soon enough.

You've been busting your ass around here for two years, and you're the best resident that we have on staff. Good luck in your new position, Chief resident.

Holy shit.

She got... promoted?

With an even bigger smile on her face, Lorna went up to the door of the Grey household, and followed a blonde girl in through the large oak door that one of his family members had opened. She scanned the area, going up on her tiptoes for a moment, trying to find that mop of brunette hair that she loved so much.

"Excuse me," She asked the pretty blonde in front of her, "Have you seen Ezra? I need to talk to him." She grinned, before shaking her head. "Sorry, I'm rude. Lorna Pierce - ol'-what's-his-face's girlfriend. And you are?"

Nothing could get her down today.

Arianna stood on the front porch, waiting for what seemed like hours. There was already a good bit of people at his house, probably the famous Grey family BBQ. Just as she was about to change her mind, a voice came from behind her, turning around, she saw a beautiful woman, about her age, if not a few months older. When she mentioned Ezra's name, her eyes sparkled, then came a sentence she had dreaded hearing, something that pulled her down under. This was his girlfriend. "Um..." She said, fighting back tears. "Arianna." The young girl said, then turned to the door opening.

At the front door was a couple of kids she recognized as his family, cousins maybe? And right behind him was Ezra. There he was. Not having changed much since she left so long ago. It brought back too many painful memories, biting her tongue, she shook her head. "Sorry, wrong place." She said, pushing past Lorna. As she headed to her car, she snapped the necklace off and let it drop, landing in his driveway. Once reaching her car, she let the tears fall, let them roll down her cheeks like a waterfall.

She was too late, and now Arianna knew it, starting the car up, she sped away. Thinking of only one place to go... a place that was peaceful, even through memories were locked away for Ezra and her.. their first kiss... and the first time he told her that he loved her. It was a cluster of low range mountains in a tourist park. They were just high enough you could watch the sunset, several bench swings were up on top of this mountain, and some beautiful shrubbery, wildlife, and wildflowers grew there. Once parking her car, Arianna got out, heading to that spot he first told her those words. She even sat in the same swing. It was half past six, and pretty soon the sun would be setting. She decided to stay and watch it, then head home after. Looking down at her hands, the tears continued to fall down. She realized, now, what a huge mistake she had made. Not only leaving him behind, but coming back today.

"Arianna..?" Ezra stood wide eyed at the door, half hidden behind the heads of his cousins, staring at the vision in front of him, frozen in place. For him, everything was moving in slow motion. His girlfriend stood at his front door, as expected, but next to her? The one who got away. What were the odds? He had been thinking about her not long before, and he didn't think about her much. So, for her to show up like this, now? He couldn't believe it. Part of him wanted to reach out and hug her, even kiss her... another part wanted to scream at her, how dare she?! How dare she show up at his house after all these years, after everything she did to him? Just when he had gotten on with his life, just as he was making something of himself, she had to come back into his life. What did she want, to humiliate him all over again? He wanted to tell her he wanted nothing to do with her, that she should leave now and never come back, that he didn't want her anymore, that she didn't even deserve to be standing there at his front door.

But he couldn't.
Because, at the same time, he knew he did want her. He wanted to scoop her up into his arms and carry her off to somewhere only they knew. He wanted to spread kisses over every inch of her, to fall asleep with her curled up next to him, to wake up in the morning to her face. He wanted her back. It hurt.
Then his eyes drifted over to Lorna, and it hurt even more. How could he even think such things? How could he ever even think of leaving her, and for Arianna, no less? He didn't deserve her, he didn't deserve the looks she gave him, the warm and loving smile she sent his way, her affection.

And just like that, the moment was gone. Everything flashed forward, and next thing he knew, Arianna was running out the door, tears in her eyes. It took him a second to react, long enough for him to see her throw something onto his driveway. By the time he got moving, she had already sped off. On instinct and instinct alone, he blinked a few times before turning to Lorna and giving her a quick peck on the cheek, squeezing her in a short hug, "I love you, sweetie. Always remember that, okay? But there's something I need to do now. Tell my parents I'll be back shortly." He kissed her softly, and when he was halfway out the door, turned and gave her a big smile, "There are two hot dogs in the kitchen for you. I made sure the condiments were just how you like." With a wink, he was gone.

Soon, he was at the only place he felt she may go, locket in hand. He had picked it up from the drive way, almost crying when he realized what it was. He saw her on the swing and knew she was crying, even from meters away. The sun would be setting soon. The familiarity of such a situation tugged at a place in his chest he wasn't sure he wanted to be bothered. "Arianna..." he spoke softly, but loud enough for her to hear. "What are you doing here?" as he asked, his eyes sparked with such a mix of emotions, it frightened even himself.

Arianna was on the phone, and she didn't hear a car pull up and park from behind her, close to where her own was. She was talking to her friend, Victoria, whom she visited earlier. "Hello?" Came Tori's warm welcome. "Tori, hey. Um, I need a favor." She asked. Arianna hadn't talked to her mom or dad yet, but she was confident and pretty sure that they wouldn't mind her spending a week or two in her old town. Of course, she'd have to drive back to get extra clothes and stuff, but she had a full tank of gas still, and plenty of money she had saved up from work and side jobs. "Yeah, what's up, girl?" Tori asked, sound coming from the TV in the background. Arianna smiled, knowing what she was watching. Glee, they watched it together all the time until she moved.

"Would your mom mind if I stayed a week or so with you? I haven't talked to my parents, but I'm pretty sure they won't mind. You can even ride back home with me real quick to grab some clothes." Arianna asked, hoping it was okay. "Let me ask." Tori said, setting the phone down. Sitting back, still hoping, Arianna waited. A voice came on the phone, it wasn't Tori's. It was her mom. "Arianna, are your parents and you getting along okay?" "Yes, we're just fine, I just didn't realize how much I missed this town," and Ezra... "until I came back. Would you mind?" Arianna asked. "Of course not, sweetie. Tori can go with you to get some clothes, tell your parents I said hello." Arianna thanked her and said bye to both Tori and her mom before hanging up.

She felt too much emotion to call her parents, so she sent a quick text message to her mom asking if she could stay. Arianna slid her phone closed and sighed. The sun was just starting to sit, a soft glow illuminating on her. It was beautiful, and brought back so many memories. A light breeze picked up as well. The temperature was starting to drop. Arianna stood up and turned to go back to her car when she saw Ezra standing there, looking at her. "Ezra..." Arianna mimicked him, her voice cracked just a bit as she glanced away, forcing the tears back.

She turned to face him when he asked why she came back. To see you... was what she wanted to say. "I came to visit Tori, and stay with her.. in town for a week. Maybe two." Arianna then glanced down. "I also... also came back to see you." She said, clearing her throat and glancing up at him. "Your happy now, though. I can clearly see that." She said, forcing a smile on her face. "I'm happy for you." Of course, Arianna didn't mean anything she just said, but it felt right to say. The wind blew her hair around her face and her dress around her knees.

Ezra's emotional turmoil shut off like a switch had been flipped, at the sound of Arianna's voice. He was numb, his eyes going blank as he stared at the girl before him, so familiar yet such a stranger to him, now. They had both changed. Everything had changed. So why did he still have that tug at the middle of his chest, that nagging voice in the back of his head, pulling him nearer to her and telling him that they belonged together?
It was wrong. It was all wrong. He had a girlfriend, a wonderful, beautiful girlfriend that was beyond anything he thought he deserved. Why had he followed her? Why hadn't he just stayed at his damn family barbecue, let her get away with the lie she told them all?!

"What were you thinking?" he asked, suddenly, after a silence so full of his own concentration and frustration that it had dragged on and gotten awkward, tense. "What were you thinking, when you showed up at my house, uninvited, after all this time?" He rose his eyes to hers, looking deep into her as he knew only he could. "What were you expecting to find, Arianna? That I was still waiting for you?" His voice grew louder slowly, building until he sounded almost angry. "I stopped waiting when I realized why you left, and then I made something of myself. I moved on. Did you think that, because you are finally ready to accept me as a part of your life, just because I'm famous, that I'd take you back gladly? That I would still be so desperate for you to love me, I would ignore the truth, ignore the fact that you're only interested in me now because I'm rich, I'm on TV, I'm finally at your level of the social food chain. Hell, I'm even higher." He started talking with his hands, and shaking his head, moving his feet. His face regained animation, twisting in odd ways, like it was just as confused about what he was feeling as he was. "Well, you may be ready, but I'm not."

He stared at her, suddenly without anymore words. Then his face softened and he looked to the ground, his voice becoming little more than a whisper. "It's not fair. It's not right. It's cruel of you, to show up here, now, and drag up all these old... feelings...."

Glancing away from him, she listened to what he was saying. He had a right to be angry at her, and even hate her guts. Arianna couldn't blame him at all for what he was feeling. She didn't know how to answer his first question. "What were you thinking?" She couldn't answer, because she didn't even know herself what was running through her mind. She just saw him on TV, heard his sweet voice, and her feelings came back, flooding over her. Arianna could tell his voice changing, becoming louder, and she flinched back just a little, her eyes looked over at his hands, and she was clutching the locket, the one he gave her so long ago.

Arianna shook her head. "I don't know what I was expecting..." She said softly, choking back new tears. His voice then grew much louder, it had caused the tears in Arianna's eyes to escape, rolling down her cheeks. She glanced away from him so he wouldn't see. Arianna's head snapped towards him when he accused her of only coming back for his fame and wealth and sudden popularity. This angered her, but the tears kept coming. When he had stopped talking, she stepped in, keeping her voice level, but un-even from her tears.

"No, Ezra..." she said, looking at him, relaxing. "That is NOT why I came back. I never stopped loving you. I had no choice at the time, we were both still minors. My parents did not want me seeing you, they refused for me to see it. My friends were ready to ditch me and leave me alone if I didn't quit. So I did the best thing I could do, and move away." She explained, trying to keep herself calm from her sadness. "I never... stopped." She said. She took a folded piece of paper out of her purse. "I left your house before I could give you this.." She said softly, walking closer to him. Arianna took his free hand and placed the paper in his hand, closing his fingers over it. "I'm sorry.... I won't bother you anymore." She said softly, planting a soft kiss on his cheek before going past him, to her car. She started it and drove off, heading to Tori's to get her. Do I by Luke Bryan was playing on the radio, and it wasn't helping her to stop the tears. But she couldn't turn it off, she only hoped he read the note.

Ezra,
I hope you read this, and not throw it away. This letter tells exactly how I feel about you, and I still feel this way. If I could go back, I would. Then, I just cared too much about what my friends thought of me and my family, I let their opinion get in the way of how I feel about you. By now, you have probably forgot all about me and moved on, got a great career. I swear to you, if there was that second chance I would grab it and never let go... and same with you. If I can't have the second chance, I only hope you won't ever forget me and our past. I love you more then words can describe, Ezra. I'm so sorry.
Love,
Arianna.

Lou was sitting in the Grey's large back garden, watching the sun fade away behind the trees. It was such a beautiful sight, and a relaxing one too, making a soft sign escape her mouth. Her teeth clamped down on the mixture of sausage meat, white bread and onions as she sat there in awe, taking a chunk of the hot dog in between her lips and chewing. Ezra had been right - this was exactly how she liked a hot dog. Lorna let her mind wonder to her estranged boyfriend, and wondered if right now, wherever he had run off to, he was looking at this same beautiful setting sun. She knew he liked sunsets; she dragged him down the beach at least once a week to watch the sun set over the horizon. It was one of her most favourite things to do on a Friday night, laying perfectly wrapped in his arms on a blanket, the sound of the waves lapping against the shore, and the gorgeous colours of the setting sun illuminating their faces.

"Hey sweetie, you cold? He wouldn't want you to freeze now, would he?" Persephone's voice hit Lou's ears as she finished her last bite of hot dog, swallowing the mouthful. She held out one of Ezra's hoodies, one that he had left here once before, causing a smile to tug at the corner of her lips. She slipped on the warm jumper, realizing that she had been extremely cold as her bare arms were covered by the warmth.
"I suppose not, thank you." She smiled up at the elder woman, who gave her a curt nod, and then went back to entertaining her guests.

Lorna decided to delve into her handbag, trying not to loose her hand in the process, searching for her mobile phone. Without even looking at her contacts, she punched in Ezra's mobile number. He had rushed off like that, told her that he would always love her, and then she hadn't heard anything from him in hours. She wasn't being paranoid, right? It was just the doctor in her that was screaming out "he's in trouble!" She just wanted to know where he was, that's all. And to tell him that she missed him.

Lou lifted the phone up to her ears, biting her lip softly as she did so, hoping for a reply.

Ezra's chest was filled with tugs from every angle as he watched the tears escape Arianna's eyes. He wanted to say something, to comfort her, but his voice was caught in his throat and he was choking on it. When she handed him the letter, he was numbing again. There was a blank stare in his eyes and he didn't feel very in control of his body anymore, his limbs did just what she pressed them to. All he could feel was the burn of her hands on his, the tingle that remained after her lips left his cheek. As she left he spun around in slow motion, finally letting free an almost silent "Arianna..." as he watched her go. She was gone, again. Just like that, the love of his life walked out of his world for the second time. He didn't even feel the single tear trickling down his cheek. He couldn't breathe. So he just stood, staring at the now empty spot where her car had been, for what seemed like forever; and then he collapsed. He fell to his knees on the ground and shook, but he did not let the tears escape.

Just as he was looking to the sunset to plead it for comfort, he heard the trill of his phone, and was torn from his silent confusion. Lorna. Clearing his throat, he took a few deep breaths in an attempt to steady himself before answering the phone. "Hey, baby..." his eyes trailed from the sunset to the now settled trail Arianna's car had made while leaving. He just hoped this wouldn't change anything. After all, she was gone again, and would probably never return. Then again, that's what he'd thought the last time. "What's up? Don't worry, I'm headed back now. Everything's finished." I hope...

Lorna couldn't understand the joy that rushed through her system when she heard her gorgeous boyfriend's voice fly down the phone. "Hey, honey!" She said, sounding cheerful. She realised that his voice sounded quite distant and she registered the upset in his voice; of course she did - she had been with him for just over two years now, and they were close. She wanted to ask if he was okay, wanted to ask was his upset anything to do with him running out so quickly from the family barbecue, but maybe he didn't want to talk to her. She didn't want to push it. Anyway, as long as he was okay, that was all that mattered, wasn't it?

"I just wondered where you are. I was looking at the sunset, and it made me miss you." Maybe a little bit of cuteness could cheer him up? She didn't know, but of course, Lou would try anything. There was something wrong with her boyfriend. Something had saddened him, and she wanted to know what. She moved from the garden into the more quiet residence of the house. The children of the Grey family were running around with sparklers, screaming at each other, and she really wanted a bit of piece and quiet. Lorna walked upstairs, into the old bedroom that used to be Ezra's. His mother still hadn't had the heart to change it, and it was still how he left it when he had moved out, just in case he ever decided to, or needed to, go back.

She sank down onto his bed, breathing in the soft scent of him, pressing the phone to her ear a little more tightly as it began to slip. "Your mum's a bit angry at you, by the way, so I'd be prepared with a good excuse." She laughed playfully down the phone, remembering the looks that Persephone had given her, when she had realized that she was on the phone to Ezra. "Anyway baby, hurry home, okay? I love you."

Arianna had got back to Tori's house. She managed to stop the tears from falling, and put on a little more make-up around her eyes to make it look like she never cried. She didn't feel like going into any deep explaination about everything. Sighing, and shaking her head, clearing herself of all the thoughts about... him, she grabbed her purse and switched off her car, heading inside. "Tori?" Arianna called out and put on a smile when she saw her friend bouncing torwards her. "Hey! So, we'll get your stuff tomorrow, but tonight... we're going out!" Tori said, grabbing Arianna's hand and dragging her upstairs. "Now, we're going to this new club they just opened, and some band is playing there tonight. Anyways, we're both eighteen, or over, so we can get in." Tori said. "Let's find you something to wear."

Arianna smiled and nodded as Tori had her outfit already picked out, a neon blue dress. "Dress?" Tori called over her shoulder from her walk-in closet. "Sure." Arianna replied and Tori grinned. "Found the perfect one." Tori said, bringing out a beautiful green dress. "It'll bring out your eyes perfectly!" Tori said, handing the dress to Arianna. "And black heels with it." Tori said, setting the heels out. "Now, time to get ready." Tori said, and Arianna nodded in agreement.

After curling her hair in ringlets, and Tori waving hers, they were just ready to get dressed and leave. After putting on their dresses, Arianna and Tori said bye to Tori's family and then left, Arianna following Tori's directions to the club. After parking, they both had their IDs ready and presented it to the bouncer before going in. Strobe lights flickered around the large dance room, a stage being set up in the front, and a DJ playing upbeat music to dance to. In one corner was a bar, non-alocholic beverages, and red stools sat in the front of the bar. "It's great." Arianna said and laughed as Tori led her to the middle of the dance floor. Red, blue, yellow, and green lights flickered on them as they danced to the beat.

Ezra's smile lightened at the sound of his girlfriend's voice in his ear, and a sweet warmth settled into that place in his heart that had felt so empty only moments before. All thought of the girl from his past and her relapse into his life aside, he nodded slowly at Lorna's words as he heard them. It took him a few seconds to realize she couldn't see this action. "I miss you too, sweetheart. I'm getting in the car now." That wasn't quite true, but within a few seconds it would be, so he let it slide as he closed what little room there still was between himself and his car. "I'll be there soon," his voice was calming just as much as he was, and he knew it would be obvious to her that he was in a much happier mood now that he was on his way back to her. "I love you."

He was about to get off the phone when suddenly something dawned on him, "Oh, right!" His eyes widened, and he froze in the driver's seat, the door still hanging open. "I almost forgot, I have a show tonight. We're playing that new club for the grand opening," his tone smoothed out from surprise and haste to an almost teasing, loving tone that gave evidence to the smirk pressing itself into the edges of his lips. "Would you accompany me, beautiful?" His eyes sparkled in anticipation for what he thought was going to turn into a wonderful night, despite his little flash to the past.

He started driving as soon as they got off the phone, him murmuring sweet nothings to her with a silly grin on his face as he said goodbye. Watching the sun set in the rear view mirror gave him a strange sense of closure, but he still had the feeling that something wasn't quite right, that maybe things between him and Arianna still weren't finished. He tried to ignore it and focus on the swell of his chest as he got pumped up, not only to get back home again, but to get ready for the show he was determined to make absolutely amazing, possibly even his best one yet. This was his home town. They would always get the best of him. Thoughts of this twisted together with memories, images from his long ago days, before his 'one that got away' had, indeed, gotten away. As he got out of the car and stepped into the house, though, all of those thoughts and images faded, and disappeared the moment he saw his precious Lorna's face.

A large grin spread itself across his features, slight hints of the dimples that had been prominent in his younger years etched into his cheeks. He opened his arms wide when he found her and scooping her up into them, hugging her tight before carrying her to the door. "Ezra, dear, what on Earth are you doing?!" his mother's voice rang through the house from behind him, pulling a chuckle up from his throat.

"I have a show tonight."

"Ezra, you left in the middle of-"

"Ma, I'll make it up to you."

"You left in the middle of your father's barbecue!" The woman stared at him, fiddling with the edges of her apron. Her face was edged with a familiar mixture of worry and annoyance. "You have hardly been home since your bir-"

"Ma!" The woman looked up at him and he raised a brow at her, smiling affectionately. "I'll stay here for the rest of this weekend to make it up to you. For now, though, I have a gig, and I really can't be late- they're kind of expecting me, and it's sort of a big deal."

Without waiting for his mother's vocal response, as he found the widening of her eyes and relaxation of her face quickly followed by a huge grin to be evidence enough in regards to her approval, Ezra carried Lou to the car and set her in the passenger's seat, planting a soft kiss on her lips before closing the door. He jogged to the other side and climbed into the driver's side, winking at her as he buckled up and headed for the new club. It was going to be great, he thought. When he turned on the radio, he heard his own voice drift through the speakers and smiled. It wasn't something he thought he would be getting used to anytime soon, but it sure wasn't something he minded. By the time they got to their destination, the young man was bursting with excitement. Pre-show jitters were settling into his limbs and mingling with that feeling of adrenaline as he made his way through the back door, making sure not to let go of his lovely Lorna. He was so distracted by the buzz of it all that he hardly noticed the girl in the crowd, waiting for his arrival, probably unaware that it was him he was waiting for. He sure didn't acknowledge the twinge of recognition as his eyes floated over hers, just before he disappeared backstage.

"I'd love to accompany you, good sir." Lorna giggled girlishly down the phone, the cute invites like that always getting to her, despite how many glitzy parties that she had been dragged around since she had become Ezra's partner. She knew that they would be going straight from his family home to the club itself, so whilst still holding the phone to her ear via her shoulder, Lou raised herself from Ezra's bed, and grabbed her bag. She cooed back to him down the phone, sending little imaginary kisses to him before she pressed the red "end call" button on her phone, and then bursting into action. Being the girlfriend of a superstar usually meant that he was needed somewhere, and he liked to take her along with him; meaning that she usually carried around some sort of smarter outfit in a bag, just in case of a time like this. She moved over to the bag, which she had placed at the bottom of the bed, and pulled out a dress, bag and shoes that she thought would go nicely for the occasion. With her hair up in the messy bun still, she re-worked her make-up slightly, before hearing the door bell ring.

She ran down the stairs as fast as her legs could carried, just to see Ezra walk into the house. She couldn't avoid the large grin on his face as soon as his eyes met hers, and in return, she beamed back to him. It was a strange phenomenon to explain, the feeling that she got when she looked into his eyes, but she couldn't help it. She loved him so much, and there was nothing in the entire world that was going to change that between them. She couldn't stop the laugh escaping her mouth as her loving boyfriend picked her up off of the floor, spinning her around playfully. But the mood was suddenly broken by the angry voice of Persephone Grey, the woman that Lorna had warned her boyfriend about. She stayed as quiet as possibly, barely breathing, feeling slightly uncomfortable being in Ezra's arms whilst his mother moaned at him. That wasn't good. However, it was all solved quickly, and soon she was shouting a good-bye to the Grey's as she was carried to the car and placed in the passengers seat. The kiss was quick and sweet, too quick for Lou's liking, but she didn't say anything, as they were in a rush. He could make it up to her later. With a smile on her face, and her hand placed gently on Ezra's leg, they were zooming off to the club.

Lorna didn't let go of Ezra's hand as he led her through the back of the club, and towards the back stage, feeling slightly lost in the loud music that was pumping from the speakers. These sort of places were her cup of tea, but she survived them for the like of Ezra - what kind of girlfriend would she be if she didn't? "Baby, calm down a bit, okay?" She laughed playfully when they were finally in a place where she could hear his voice, squeezing his hand lightly. "You're literally shaking with excitement. Good luck!" She laughed. Then, something dawned on her, making the smile on her face grow in size, if that was even possible.

"Oh yeah, I never got to tell you! I have some news too, honey. I got promoted at the hospital! I'm now the Chief Resident!"

"Tori, what band is playing tonight?" Arianna shouted over to her friend, making herself audible over the loud, techno music being played by the DJ while the stage was being set up. When Tori told her the name of the band, Arianna's heart fell to her stomach and she felt sick. "Tori, I don't feel well, suddenly. I think I'll walk home, you can take the car back." Arianna said in her friend's ear. "Oh no. Not after all this trouble." Tori said, shaking her head and holding Arianna's arm. "Trouble?" She questioned, looking at Tori.

Tori nodded. "There's someone I want you to meet, he's my cousin married in. His name is Jackson, and he is soooo delicious. If he wasn't technically my family, I would so have been with him." Tori grinned, and Arianna sighed. "You set me up?" Arianna asked. It was typical of Tori. When Arianna was last here, and with Ezra, Tori always tried setting her up. Maybe it was a good idea right now, though. She did deserve to be happy and she had to forget Ezra... apparently he already forgot about her, right? Tori's hopeful gaze lingered on Arianna. Smiling and un-tensing her body, she nodded. "Alright." She agreed and Tori grinned. "Great! Jackson!"

A tall man from behind Tori turned to face the girls. "It was a yes?" He questioned, grinning over at Arianna. Tori wasn't lying... he was really handsome. When he smiled you saw the cute dimples form. Tori nodded then coughed. "I'm going to get a drink, I'll leave you two alone." She said, winking over at Arianna before disappearing in the throng of people moving to the beat. "I'm Jackson." The man said, holding his hand out, baby blue eyes never leaving Arianna's face. Smiling, she took his hand. "I'm Arianna." She said, feeling like they were hitting it off pretty well. In that instant, she forgot about the band playing, and who'd be singing, at least until they came on stage to perfom. Standing by the bar, Arianna and Jackson talked, getting to know the other. He kept her laughing, and they seemed to get even close. The stobe lights grew brighter as the band was being introuduced, but Arianna wasn't paying attention. Colorful lights flickered over her as her smile never left her face.

Ezra smiled over at Lou and thought he could feel a slight blush rushing onto his cheeks. He rubbed his hands together and let out a short, dry laugh, shaking his head. His eyes flickered down to his feet for a moment as he made his way toward the stage, his face going down with them, but before he stepped away from his girlfriend, he looked back up at her through his eyelashes. "Thanks," his voice was just barely loud enough for her to hear. Planting a kiss on her cheek, Ezra winked at her and walked backwards onto the stage. He was just starting to turn around and face the crowd when he heard her news of a nearly forgotten promotion. His eyes widened slightly as he spun around, not thinking clearly as he grabbed her wrist and pulled her to him, kissing her passionately. It wasn't until he heard the roar of the crowd that he realized they could all see the two of them. When he pulled away, he was beaming. "Congratulations!" he exclaimed, leaning in to kiss her again. That embrace was quicker, and he pulled away just barely before going to perform. "I love you," is lips still brushed against hers as he spoke, so quiet that only she would be able to hear, and he wasn't sure even she could. The people watching probably thought he was still kissing her.

Quickly, he made his way to the microphone, knowing he wouldn't be relying on his guitar for the first song or two he played. "How you doin', everybody?!" he questioned loudly, excitement clear in his voice, and he figured he might be more pumped than most of the people in the club, even having a celebrity such as his in their small town. It made sense in a way, since he had grown up there and most of them had probably known him, or someone in his family, at one point or another. He could just imagine what it would be like if the paparazzi showed up, or if someone from the tabloids came to interview someone claiming their cousin's friend's ex girlfriend's mom was friends with his dad about ten years ago. It was ridiculous what some people would believe, and the lengths to which people would go just to have their five minutes in the spotlight. He wiped all thoughts of this from his mind, however, after a few moments so he could start in on his first song. Powerful and bouncy, it fit right in to the club's already high energy level. He loved how the crowd seemed to move to the exact beat that pounded through his veins and through the music. He relished in the sound of a select few voices calling out the words at the same time he did. He played two songs like that, before he felt it was time to change it up.

"Alright, people!" The excitement boomed through his vocal cords and sparkled in his eyes. "I've got a special treat for y'all tonight. This is a song only my band has heard, since the day I wrote it back in high school. I had a run in with the past recently, that brought up a whole lot of memories I think are represented in this song. It reminded me of something my sister used to say- and I know you all have one person on your mind right now, as I'm saying this: you never forget your first love. So, without further ado, here comes one only you, right here in this club tonight, will have the pleasure of hearing." One of his band members handed him the guitar, they knew what was coming. They had rewritten it a few times, to make it faster or slower, though the lyrics stayed mostly the same throughout the years. He mumbled to them to play the one with a quicker beat, so as not to bring down the club's energy and feel with a ballad. "The One That Got Away," he spoke softly, almost solemnly into the mic before leaning back and starting in on the intro, his fingers playing the guitar like it was his soul mate. When his eyes finally tore from the beautiful instrument in his hands, and he stepped up to the microphone again, he belted out words full of the emotions that plagued him.

In the middle of the song, his eyes went to the crowd and froze on one single body, one single face. Time seemed to slow down drastically, and he could hear his heart beat pounding in his ears, though he kept on singing. For a moment, it felt like he was singing to her; and the reality of the situation hit him like a brick. He was. He had written the song about her, his Arianna, not long after she ran right out of his life, the first time. Before then, he had never sung a word of it to her, or -as he told the inhabitants of the club- anyone outside of the band. The realization that he was suddenly getting the chance to struck fire in his heart, and suddenly everything seemed more real, more felt; he was sure everyone listening could tell. For the rest of the song, his eyes never left her. He directed his words to her, even if no one else knew it -which would probably be best- he knew she would; and in all honesty, he wasn't sure if he hoped it would heal her or harm her, as she had so obviously harmed him.

It seemed like Arianna and Jackson were hitting it off perfectly. When she heard the music start back up, and a familiar voice, she glanced over at the stage and saw Ezra, singing. He wasn't looking at her, so maybe he hadn't noticed she was there, which was probably best. Jackson asked her to dance to the band's upbeat melody, but she shook her head, promising him another. Nodding, he continued talking about himself as Arianna stole quick, small glances over torwards Ezra. Mentally slapping herself, she turned away and glued all eyes on Jackson.

The band finished up their first song, and Ezra spoke. His calm, alluring voice sending chills down Arianna's spine, she listened to his words and her heart skipped a beat, but she kept her eyes on Jackson. When he started into his new song, the words struck a cord in Arianna, triggering emotions. She looked up as Jackson went to get them drinks. Her breathing stopped for a brief moment. He was singing, his eyes on her. He had noticed her, and he was singing... to her. This time, she couldn't draw her eyes away from him as he played the song and sung it, she couldn't help but feel as if he was directing it to her.

Jackson came back and handed her the punch. Glad he could distract her, her eyes shot a "I'm sorry" look at Ezra, filled with emotion and sorrow, and she turned to Jackson, drinking her punch. It tasted a little funny, not like fruit punch. "Did you..." She started, feeling a little light headed. "Put something in my punch?" She asked, everything was a blur to her. Jackson leaned over and whispered in her ear. "I did, and you are going to come with me, because I send Tori home with your car." He said. Arianna felt she had complete loss of her body as Jackson dragged her through the crowd and out into the chilly air. "I... I feel strange..." She said, the cold air feeling like whips slapping on her skin.

Jackson opened the door to a car, was it is? Arianna vision was too blurred. He put her in, a little rough, and Arianna could feel the engine starting up. "No..." She tried to say, but mouthed it as everything around her went black.

Tori was looking around the club for Arianna, but she couldn't find her anywhere. Jackson said they were leaving together, but it wasn't like Arianna to do so without telling Tori first, it was starting to worry the friend when she didn't see Arianna. And she had no clue where Jackson's new place was.
