Because she was throwing her whips at the time, Gabriel couldn't intercept Laryn's attack. It hit her directly on the chest. Were she wearing her helmet, the kinetic energy would have just gone out through there, but because she wasn't wearing her helmet, the energy was transferred to the whips, and they were shaken off course. They were not going to impact the cat. But despite the full-power attack, she barely felt it. Thank goodness for her suit.

"That all you got?" she asked, or mocked. It was hard to tell. Either way, the red-turned-blue whips returned to her as she jumped backwards after picking up her suitcase again. When she was about two metres away from the lightning user, she opened the case and put her helmet on. "Well, can't blame you. Using bare hands against my suit hasn't worked before. Not gonna work now." She pressed the side of her helmet. "Base, this is Gabriel. There's an infiltrator in the base... yes, I'm sure. She sneaked off in front of me... well, she has friends, I'm fighting them now..." She smirked. "No backup, as usual. I can take them. Gabriel out." She pressed the side again and readied her whips.

"I hope you're ready..." she gave her whips a quick spin, "... because I'm not gonna let up on you now, even if you are handicapped."

Ayase was slightly creeped out by AUGER's somewhat prophetic statement, but like every other emotion that attempted to surface in front of visitors, she made sure to keep it down.
