Saomaru took one look at the intimidating line and swallowed. Unlike her brother and Eket, her chosen survival mechanism had always been the ability to think quickly and run almost as fast. She doubted very much that these and her acrobatic skills would be of too much use in this particular situation, and her worry reflected in the look she shot her companions.

She could tell from the expression on her brother's face that he was planning on fighting his way through, and on any other day, she would have done anything in her power to stop it. Right now, though, looking at the device in her arms, which she had taken from Kaz when he entered the apartment, she was for once going to stop discouraging his more belligerent tendencies. Something deep inside herself made her certain that this was something they had to achieve, something she had to achieve, or else just give up trying forever. Maybe it was a foolish thing, to give oneself an ultimatum like that, but Saomaru couldn't help but think it anyway.

Since she had the device anyway, she decided it might be best if she tried to get it across. Running well would be of help here, anyway, and that way, she wouldn't be a hindrance to anyone trying to fight and could still be useful. All the others looked more like the sort to know what they were doing than she, and at least a couple of them were Benders besides. Saomaru fervently hoped that would be enough.
