Kain stealthily readied his pistol, but did not act. He would wait either for Shadow's orders, or for an overt act of hostility from the thief. Acting insane in itself was hardly a heinous enough crime to merit death. If it was, Kain would have been killed a hundred times over already. But the thief seemed to be going through some sort of mental breakdown, and so should be watched carefully.
