A wordless nod was the best he could manage before being summarily dismissed. In the hall, Vermillion heaved a sigh of relief and leaned against the wall for support. He winced, the sudden exhalation of air straining his wounds, and then smiled. It was odd...he had expected at the very least to be brow beaten by his superior, but no. It was more like being told you were grounded, but enforcing no actual restrictions. Citrine's mental prodding was all he needed to straighten up and follow her to her office. He glanced around with muted interest, noting that this was the first time he had been in the woman's quarters. That, and how much more lavish the accomodations were.

"Well, let's get this over with." I'm guessing it'll be complete bullshit but...oh wait. You can hear me, can't you? Shit. Vermillion quickly conjured up an image of a blurred tv screen and simulated the sound of static in his mind. "Hehe...disregard that last thought."

Without another word and an awkward smile, he sank into one of the chairs and looked on as the disk was set. The first slide passed, and Vermillion made his best attempt not to look bored. The second came, scientists shaking hands and patting eachother's back...then the third, showing some half-assed latex monsters in a tube. They continued on for a short while, and with each passing image the sham seemed less and less fake. He leaned forward and blinked several times to make sure what he was seeing was correct. Pictures of victims of the 'trial runs' flashed on the screen, and it felt as if he'd received an splash of ice-cold water. Civillians. Some people whom he recognized, those that he hadn't been fast enough to save during his missions. It felt as if the entire horrible ordeal was a brief moment in time, as seconds later the screen dimmed to black.

"No...that...no." Vermillion looked to Citrine, his expression conveying that he had about as much of an answer as she did. "It...Azure...he-he could have doctored the photos, fake the information...i-it's not too hard to pull up the death-counts of each raid..." Even he wasn't convinced by his own words. The images were too real, and the angles of the shots...alot of them looked as if they had come from the front of one of the LIMIT agent's vest, judging by how arms and guns obscured some of the footage. Vermillion rested his head in his hands, speaking in a hollow tone.

"This isn't real, right...?" he continued on in his mind. I've had my world shattered and rebuilt too many times now, too many times for this to possibly be true. Azure. He's messing with us...trying to break our resolve... If that in fact was the case, it was working.

Arsenic raised her head and paid a moderate amount of attention to Azure's speech. After a long pause, she spoke up.

"Is exfiltrate a real word?" she appeared completely serious at first before breaking into a giggle. "Yeah. Sure, you know i'm in Blue." Not deigning to speak any more Arsenic leaned back again and closed her eyes. At least the boredom would wane soon.
