"Really? Both of you? Yay!" I removed my headphones and pointed in the direction of the subway. I was surprized that I had managed to find two harmless Composers that were willing to befriend me; because when Sync had given me the talk about the Sound Realm and its functions, he had stressed that there were alot of people who might turn on me and try to convert me to Noise through poisoning unless I was already considering that path myself â which I shook my head vigorously at. The Noise was evil, and I wouldn't be able to consider a life on the dark side. That would be way too Star Wars.... "I think my Mom just restocked the snack cupboard, so we don't need to worry about food. Is there anything else.... No, I think we're good. Let's go!"
All at once, I headed off, pulling my phone from my pocket and unplugging my headphones, which I stuffed in my bag for safe keeping. I dialed my home phone and waited for a moment before Kaida picked up, and he didn't sound happy. "Venus.... Whaddaya want?"
"Need anything while I'm out?"
"Not if you're going to touch it."
"Well, fine. Be that way." At this point I heard a voice in the background. Someone had asked who Kaida was talking to. I was confused for a moment, but when it clicked, I let myself smirk darkly. "You've got Vincent over, haven't you? Oh... Kaida.... I'm gonna tell Mom."
"Don't bother. I'll tell Mom. I don't care anymore, I really don't."
"HA! You're just saying that so that I don't call her and tell her right now! I can see through you, Kaida Valentine! You are no longer the mysterious, unbreakable robot you used to be!"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
I dropped my voice and grinned maniacly. "You've got a boyfriend."
"I'm not going to say anything about Rikku. You just have your fun. Oh, and if you're bringing those two over here, make sure you keep it down and clean up when you're done, because I'm taking the heat for you again."
This made me stop dead in my tracks. "How'd you know about Nate and Lazette?"
"I know everything." With that, my brother hung up on me, and I was left staring at my phone in confusion. What was his problem? Another question to add to the mystery that was my little brother....
