“Oh no, no I don’t need anything. “ He grinned. “I’m Derrik. My dad and I run the local auto shop. I’m delighted to meet you.” He opened his mouth to speak again, but was stopped by the epidemic suddenly at hand as the girls burst into the restaurant.
He watched the girl beg for help, and with wide eyes he glanced back and forth from the girl to Marron, and back. “Oh dear…” he murmured. He’d seen this girl around town, but never before had he thought she was mental. Strange maybe, but otherwise fairly normal. Perhaps this meant that the town would have to build a sanitarium.
