"Yes, I need rest," Karad affirmed while rubbing his legs. His feet were somewhat sore and he felt like walking all the way to the mountains would murder him like this. He just wasn't used to walking such distances, much less in this human form. However, all of this was worth it; worth it if he could finally open the crystal. One of the obstacles was behind him now, the one he thought almost impossible to overcome, but Allison seemed like she would be worthy of the challenge...

"Back where?" he inquired absent mindedly, then remembered what she meant. "Oh, that. Nothing, really... I fed on the basic human emotions and instincts... Fear, horror, panic... I fed on them, then pushed them back into the persons. And... yes... It was a mistake," he finally admitted quietly, as if ashamed of the fact. "I am... Inexperienced in this... filthy form..." Karad didn't elaborate further, but it seemed his human appearance bothered him, like he didn't want to be mistaken for one, even though it was necessary to do so.

Looking over at Allison, he took the offered water bottle and drank from it slowly. He knew the liquid within and liked its revitalising properties, knowing they could restock on it were they to find a river stream. He found his human form held much less water at once than what he was used to and a constant battle for survival with thirst and hunger ensued as a result. The sun didn't help that day as it was hot as ever, although the clouds did help block some of the warm sunlight that would otherwise make the already difficult journey even worse. Karad had little idea of where exactly they would need to go - finding things from this perspective was so much more difficult and alien to him, he wondered how humans could expand like they did.

When his woman companion started playing on a flute, he gazed at her in a confused manner and stared at her for a few moments before speaking up: "What are you doing?" He was a complete stranger to music and didn't even realise that was one of the things humans did to pass time and entertain themselves. The tavern they were in had no bards playing, so this was the very first time he came into contact with this part of the human culture. And he would be a tough critic to please...
