"No problem at all," Daniel said quietly as the man apologized for the interruption.

Daniel understood when it was necessary. It was when those who barged in for no apparent reason that he couldn't stand. He tipped his hat to the two as he peered inside. As he stuck his head inside a heavy stench of smoke and alcohol vented out. Daniel turned his head away momentarily. It suddenly dawned on him that the new law that the government passed was making this a field day for some. He didn't know much except it was impossible to get booze on Sundays unless it was at a hotel. When he remembered this, he started to wonder how many people were actually staying there and how many were just living it up til they drunken husks. He sighed quietly as he shook his head. Even as a partial Irishman he didn't partake in anything like that.

"If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna check around."

"All right. Your room numbers 203. I can bring the key up to you later."

Daniel nodded towards the old man as he looked back towards the door. Daniel quickly took in a deep breath as he moved inside. Soon, the raucous sounds of the bar assaulted his ears. Laughter of drunken disorderlies at the bar, victorious cheers and disgruntled scowls at the poker table, and a piano playing wildly in the corner. The piano was quiet old. He good tell from the faded paint and splintering wood around its frame. At least it sounded in tune. The bar was well stocked, even for a hotel. Bottles of various liquors, beers, and wines were behind the counter, and just as full were the seats alongside it. He turned his head to look back towards the table. As he did, he noticed the man from outside has a wound on his head. Daniel's eyes narrowed, curiosity suddenly taking over his mind. He shook the thoughts from his head. It wasn't his place to ask. As far as he was concerned, it could have come from anything. He decided it would be best just to find a room. He quickly headed up the stairs. The steps emitted somewhat loud creaks as he ascended them. After reaching the second floor, he looked for the room number, spotting it to his left.

"And here we go."

He grabbed the handle and opened the door. As he did, he spotted someone in the window: a young Hispanic woman was in the middle of it. When he entered, they locked eyes, frozen in place. Daniel stared at her, unsure of what was going on exactly.

"Sneaking in or skipping bail?" Daniel asked, unsure of what else to say.
