Vanessa turned around to face the opening of the stairs, she took a deep breath, she couldn't smell anything out of the ordinary. She couldn't hear them either, she looked at Elena, "They wouldn't have somehow been staked before they came any closer, would they?" she said in a low voice, since she and Elena couldn't sense them. Not a second after Vanessa said that, one of the vampires came down the stairs, in a flash and pushed her all the way down the stairs with enormous strength. Vanessa didn't even get any time to react, she found herself tumbling down the stairs, but she couldn't even stop herself, with the speed she was moving at she couldn't hope to stop from falling. When she reahed the bottom, she fell with a loud thud and got up quickly. "Damn...." Even though she wasn't hurt physically, she still felt the pain, she looked back up the stairs and could see the two vampires surrounding Matthew and Elena.
