Thankfully, Cailin’s powers allowed her to stay on Lakonius’ back. Not that she would die if she fell, but it would be rather painful. The trip was relatively short but managed to ruffle her perfectly straight hair. Her mind was on this when they landed so Lakonius’ devilishly, charming move caught her quite off guard.

Cailin’s cheeks may have been slightly flushed, but as he sat her down she was quick to regain her composure. With a shake of her head, her hair became sleek and in place once again and she straightened her jacket just for good measure.

She listened carefully as the God explained there reason for being in this new place. Not being exactly thrilled to be annoying anyone, she simply nodded that she understood. The demon shot him a questioning glance and wondered what he forgot. Not being able to read thoughts, she quickly disregarded his statement. After all, he was the God of Madness.

“Well,” she began thoughtfully, “I used to work for the ’big guy upstairs’ and I suppose I was fine at that… for a couple hundred years anyway. I started out in guardianship but then was transferred to general do-gooding.” She faltered a bit, “That particular job was not what I’d call my specialization. So… I was kicked out. I’m sure you know how these things go. I’ve only been with the Dark Side for almost fifty years, and while Satan is more lenient, he thinks I’m lacking. That part you know from His letter.”

Cailin continued on as they walked, “And it’s not that I’m lazy, please do not think that. It’s just… Humans do have free will and what we, Satan’s crew, are supposed to do is counter act the ’miracles’ that Christ’s crew does. So, I’m supposed to run around doing such things as tempting or creating ’bad’ situations and it’s just that I really don’t see the point anymore. However, giving up this job would mean back to Hell and I do not want that.” Cailin glanced at Lakonius with a slightly embarrassed smile, “I’m rambling and I shall stop now.”
