Morinth ZangMorinth rounded a corner, walking quickly and looking around her with a worried glance. Her face was filled with worry. It was an emotion that wasnât familiar on her face. She was dressed in her black boots, blank tank top, and black leather pants. Her boots clunked on the dry pavement of the side walk near a busy street. Morinthâs hand was on a tube like case at her hip.
Her gaze was busy looking up and down the numerous store fronts to her right. The moment she saw the one she was looking for, she quickly looked around her and then slipped inside.
Morinth sighed with relief as she looked about the tattoo parlor that she had entered. It was Bennyâs new tattoo parlor since Moon Bay.
âSo, the Batwoman comes at last to my new parlor.â Benny smiled as he walked up to her. The parlor doors shut again behind Morinth. Benny glanced over behind her.
âAnd I see that you brought Scrappy with you.â he added quickly.
Morinth looked behind her and saw Morkori with a very tense look on his face.
âCall me Scrappy again, you stupid blood sucker, and I swear it will be the end of you.â Morkori growled.
Benny just raised his eyebrows in fake surprise.
âWell, my good Mystery, Shaggy, friends, I have something that the two of you want.â He said in a smug tone. He looked so pleased with himself standing before them. It made Morinth want to slap it off of his face.
Morinth took a step closer to Benny and looked him right in the eyes.
âThen itâs a good thing that I came here then.â She said dangerously.
Benny just gave her a half smile and backed away a few steps.
âNow, now, remember who it was that helped you move all of your things over here.â Benny whimpered as he quickly found himself up against a wall with Morinth in his face.
âThen what is it that you have for us? This better be good since we have good reason to believe that you ratted us out to Daiske Mikata.â Morkori snarled behind her.
Morinth gently pushed Morkori back a step since she hadnât realized that he to was close to Bennyâs face. Benny looked a bit panicked but then again he always tried to remain calm no matter what the situation was.
âBenny, just tell us.â Morinth gently demanded. Her arms crossed over her chest as she took a step back in front of Morkori. He was just starting to put a foot forward as she blocked him. He only growled a bit in frustration but didnât put up a resistance like she thought he would.
Benn sighed,
âPlease, whatever you do, donât say his name.ââWhy?â Morinth questioned swiftly.
âBecause, he is always watching.â Benny looked around.
âIf I tell you what I know, you will have to promise that youâll protect me.âMorinth and Morkori exchanged a glance with one another. It was a few seconds more before Morkoriâs tense body only tensed more as he grumbled a reply,
âFine.âBenny seemed to sigh a relief,
âGood.â He then paused and whispered,
âIt is best we go into my backroom. Its sound proof for my own private use.âMorkoriâs eye twitched,
âDo we want to know why its sound proof?!âMorinth elbowed Morkori in the side, causing him to flash a dangerous look. Morinth only narrowed her eyes at him. The two just stared at one another with the same look on their faces. Benny only watched expressionlessly. He shifted his weight to one side enabling him to put out a few impatient taps with his foot.
Usually, Benny did everything he could to make Morinth and Morkori clash. Wither it was a hostile stand point or a stand point that led to the two of them looking into each others eyes⊠Morinth couldnât help my wonder what Benny was always up to. After all it was Benny who helped solidify her relationship with Morkori a few months back. Still, she didnât entirely trust anyone besides Morkori over the past couple of months.
A sound proof room would be tempting⊠she thought as her body relaxed in tandem with Morkoriâs.
âAhem.â Benny gently coughed impatiently.
âSorry Benny.â She said in a very apologetic tone.
Benny motioned for them to follow, which they did with out question. He led them to the back of the parlor. Benny stopped in front of an empty shelf and slid it off to the side. It revealed a white door with a golden handle. On the door was a medium sticker sign.
âWhy does the door have a sign that has an unusual symbol on it?â Morkori pointed at the sign. The sign had a symbol that was made up of two crosses over lapping one another combined with two circles on either side of the shaft of the combined crosses.
Benny looked at it and then back at Morkori with an expression on disappointment.
âThat my friend is the lovely Rayne. She dominates all of my fantasies. A shame she is locked away in my magic box.â Benny explained.
Morkori only gave him a look over. It was a look that which Morinth had been noticing was his way of showing that he was curious rather than angry or suspicious.
âA Magic Box?â Morinth asked.
Benny nodded and turned the handle to the door. As it opened, they were exposed to a tiny white room littered with posters on the wall. There was reclining chairs on the floor that had not legs to them. As Morinth and Morkori looked around from outside of the room, Benny walked right in and plopped into one of the chairs. He picked up a remote and turned on a TV that was in front of him.
âCome, and close the door before you sit down.â He said casually as he leaned forward to turn on a black box in front of him.
Morinth walked in with Morkori close behind her soon after he shut the door. As they took the remaining two chairs in the room, they realized just how tiny it really was. Both of them were squished up against Benny.
âUm⊠ok⊠now will you tell us?â Morinth asked. She shifted some in her chair, trying to get comfortable.
Benny looked over at her and smiled,
âYour Oni Leader wants you to know that he wants you to come home and stop playing with puppies.ââNo, really, tell us.â Morinth insisted.
âNope. What I told you is real. He met me soon after he met you in that alley way Morinth. He was pissed that you were with Wolfman over there.â Benny explained casually as he picked up a video game controller.
âWhat do you mean pissed?â Morinth said in a serious tone. Her thoughts racing back to the night in the alley way again. It was something he couldnât get out of her head. It was like a yoyo effect, always coming back to torment her when she least expected it.
Benny shrugged,
âWhat I said.â He paused and then puckered his lips a bit.
âHe was pissed that you were with Morkori. All he told me was that you shouldnât be with a Kami Lord. Itâs disrespectful and he had to teach you a lesson. To be mixed in with a Kami, while you are considered an Oni, is an extreme act of treason in Mr. Mikataâs point of view. He just sends his apologies to you and threatens Morkori.âMorkori perked up at the mention is his name. He had been looking at a poster behind him. It featured a half naked woman covered in sand on a beach.
âWhat about me?â Morkori asked.
Morinth just rolled her eyes as she noticed what he had been staring at.
âAre you sure you want to know?â Benny asked him as the TV screen came alive with peppy music and girls playing volleyball on the screen.
âI do.â Morkori replied.
Benny looked over at Morkori and said,
âHe says that he is going to kill you if he sees you with her again. And if he sees you with her, he will have no choice but to punish her again as well. Itâs not something I like to relay to others, but I am just an errand boy in this. He only threatens my life if I refuse to tell him anything that he wants to know.âMorinth could feel herself freezing as if time stopped. Why would Benny tell Daiske everything? Werenât they friends? Didnât he know that Daiske was trying to kill them back at the alley way in Moon Bay?
âHow dare you?!â Morinth exclaimed as she stood up fast.
Benny looked up at her in surprise.
âYou told him everything didnât you? Didnât you?!â she yelled.
Morkori stood up and placed his hands on her arms.
âBenny! I thought we could trust you!â she cried out in rage. She tried to lunge herself at Benny but Morkori held her back.
âMorinth, I didnât tell him everything. Besides, I only answer questions that he asks. He asked very little about you two. That only means one thing.â Benny said, returning to his video game on the screen.
âWhat do you mean?â Morkori asked. Morinth looked over at him. His eyes were cold as they looked down at Benny. It made Morinth stop in her tracks as she saw that he was barely keeping his temper down.
Benny sighed and looked back up at them,
âhe knows everything about you two already. He only asked me if you carried a sword on you. I told him what I knew⊠which was that I honestly didnât know.âOOC: Post #1
