"Tell us!"

Kai woke up to the same, familiar dream as he's had many nights before. Looking around, he wiped sweat from his brow and simply sat there in the darkness, trying to calm his beating heart. "What do they want?" he asked under his breath, speaking merely to the shadows around him. It was then he heard a scream coming from not too far down the hall and he felt himself jump in surprise before getting out of bed and jolting out of his room. There was never a time to be calm and slow when someone screams, especially when that scream sounds like his little sister's.

Seeing Apple standing there, Kai slowed to a stop, a little out of breath. "Are you alright?" he asked, looking her over carefully. She didn't look harmed, so he allowed his shoulders to relax. Catching her tired expression, one that matched his own, he sighed and ran a hand through his hair, casually leaning against the wall next to her. "The dream, huh?" he figured after only a moment. He worried for her sake. He would much rather that only he have the dream, even a dream ten times as worse, so long as it meant Apple didn't have to have it. But, alas, that sort was out of his control so all he could do was comfort.
