Naraku remained in his place in the clearing where Sesshōmaru had slaughtered the demon lords, finding little or no reason to fraternize with the fools he was allied with. His gaze was drawn up to the sky, watching a single bird soar across it, a raven. But Naraku knew of it's true purpose. That fool Kooji used a bird for the purpose of a Saimyosho. Naraku smirked and laughed darkly as three of his Saimyosho sped towards the raven and then collided into it, sticking their stingers into its gut. The bird fell to the ground, but it didn't matter, it had already achieved its goal. Kooji had something planned, but what?

Naraku shrugged to himself, and then a cloud of miasma covered him and he vanished from sight, reappearing on the eastern shores of Japan, a great bat demon alongside the ocean-dwelling leviathan awaiting his arrival. Two long tentacles extended from Naraku's back, writhin in the air above him, and then simultaneously lunged at the two creatures. They were converted into fleshy pulps, then sucked into Naraku's body. The bat demon would grant his many nocturnal abilities, but all Naraku had truly wanted was the ability to shatter most barriers from it. As for the leviathan, it craved the power and the life force of all living things, and all powerful things. It had so much energy stored within it, but Naraku would need more before he could use it all for his purpose...

Vanishing into another cloud of miasma, Naraku disappeared from the eastern coast, and then was returned to Sesshōmaru's abode.
