Megumi was slow to regain conscious. While she was out, she dreamt of all the times when she so desperately wanted some kind of acknowledgement from her adoptive parents. Some of the things she did was to just get them to say they were proud of her. She cleaned up the house, she became an honor student, she obeyed every rule, etc. Still they barely said anything. All of it seemed for nothing. Didn't anyone cared about her? Several tears rolled down her face as she regained conscious. She opened her eyes and saw she was in an unfamiliar place. Her body hurt all over. What happened to her?

"Aw you're awake." said a kind voice.

Megumi managed to look over and see a middle age woman with a nice smile.

"What happened to me?" she managed to ask.

"You were in a terrible crash dear. You're in the hospital right now. I am your nurse, Miaka. How do you feel?"

"I hurt all over. I was in a wreck? How come . . " Megumi started to ask.

It was then she remembered turning at the light and seeing a semi. Miake saw the shock on Megumi's face and knew the girl had just remembered.

"You'll be fine dearie. We weren't able to get a hold of your parents but your employer was notified."

Megumi was too lost in her thoughts to listen. She might have died. That thought alone scared her as nothing did. She then remembered the nurse telling her about her parents. That hurt, really hurt. Yet it didn't surprise her either. She really was no good if her parents couldn't get a hold of. More than likely they didn't care wether she was here or not. Megumi started to cry.

"Aww don't cry dear. It'll be okay." the nurse comforted.

"No . . nothing is okay . . nothing ever will be." Megumi continued to cry.
