Aika watched as the other guests converesed and danced with each other; she longed for someone to talk to, just someone she could hopefully tell how she feels right now. Normally her mother took hold of that task, but she was all alone here. Well not literally since she was surronded by people, people that were strangers to her and will most likely stay that way.
Eventually, the thought of when they would announce the engagements came to mind. Aika couldn't help but wonder if they were going to do it soon; it was exciting to be at a ball surrounded by nobility, but the atmosphere she wasn't used to. 'I've never even seen or heard anything about the princes before a few days ago... I wonder what they're like.'
Almost as if to answer her question the sound of trumpets filled the room, all attention turned to a man standing above everyone; it seemed the main event would finally be starting. The man announced for the princes to all gather in center of the room along with the five girls to be engaged to them; he started to read off names from a list. "Rave Heartnet, Aika Kagamine, Shinku Haraku, Evania Sylbr, and Aria Syviis..." The sound of hearing her name being called out made her heart pound against her chest at an unhealthy rate. She watched as the guests all cleared the middle of the room for them to gather, she sighed and slowly moved her feet across the sea of people to the center.
She arrived to find three other girls and two princes already at the floor. Aika too one glance at a white haired girl who didn't look happy to be here at all; Aika dropped her shoulders in a sigh, "Feels like I'm about to be judged or something..." She said aloud noting at the countless stares from the other guests and standing in the middle of the large hall. Feeling a little awkward about the whispers and looks about her ears, they drooped in slight depression. She couldn't understand why, when she moved through the crowd before she saw a few other Esperos and some from her clan as well. Her eyes traveled to the floor, "Please...can we get this over with?"
