When Vin had gotten back she didn't bother questioning Beldur with the book, she knew howinto he would get and her questions would probably only be an annoyance to him. Instead she took a nice shower, trying to scrub the dirt off of her that she had gotten from being on the ground. She blushed at that thought and soon finished her shower, getting out got ready. She put on a new pair of clothes and went to go watch the joining ritual, something that both Elend and the little girl had requested of her. So out of curiosity of the new Grey Wardens that would replace the many that they had lost in the battle, this watched it. And she did, lucky for the girl, she survived. Although not all of them did, out of the original five, four lived on to be a Grey Warden. They quickly had a small service for the guy and Vin left half way through, not able to deal with all of the death, not so soon after the Blight anyways. She walked around for a bit, wondering what would happen and glad at the same time she didn't run into Illa, knowing that the girl would probably come up with more than a few questions. But Vin had missed her home town and she had a sudden longing to go around and see what had become of it. So she explored for a bit, walking around the time with a small smile on her face, many memories popping up into her mind. But she soon found her feet bringing her one way, to her old house. She had promised herself that she wouldn't visit it when she had arrived here, not in the mood to dea with her drunken, abusive father. But she couldn't help it, she wanted to see what had become of him. It wasn't something that she thought bitterly about, he still was her father so she went to check him out.
When she arived at the house she wanted to go in but instead peeked in a window. Inside she saw her father, suddenly seeming a lot older then he had been more than a year ago. She sighed, her hands going down to her belt where she had once more forgetting her daggers and she hoped it wouldn't become a bad habit. but then again, daggers would probably only scare her father. She went over to the door that the tiny house contained and she knocked on it with a small knock, deep down hoping that perhaps he wouldn't hear it and she would just leave after waiting for the weather. But that, of course, didn't happen. He opened it within a minute and they both stared at eaxh other in awkward silence. "Hi Father," She said, her voice suddenly extremely small and she felt like a kid once more, his look able to turn her into that. "Vin, what are you doing here?" He slurred, his druken state making her flinch, just like it had always been able to do. "I just came to see you," She told him, her voice still small. Her father nodded and his eyes seemed glazed over and she shook it off, not wanting to get into his thoughts. But, something that had shocked her but at the same timd didn't, a fist came out to meet her face. She saw the next one coming and grabbed his hand, knowing that after her training at a Grey Warden her father was no problem for her. "You ashame me by getting with a knife ear?" He asked, venom in his voice. "I want you to leave and never come back, bitch." Her father finished up, jerking his hand away from her grip, almost as if it were poison. She shook her head and left, finding her way back to the castle, refusing herself to be upset over the encounter. Her hand touched her throbbing face, hoping it wouldn't bruise so no questions would be asked, although if it did she would just say she fell. She fought the sadness away as well as the tears, refusing to cry over it, she knew that that was going to happen. Once she got back to the castle she immediatly went into the room that she and Beldur were sharing and saw him still engrossed in his book, even if it was incredibly late at night. She just smiled at him, knowing that he hadn't slept yesterday either because they had been busy doing something else. She stripped her shirt and pants off and then crawled into bed with him, giving him a small kiss. "I'm going to sleep Beldur, have a good night, okay?" She told him, hoping that sleep would come to her.
