Sergeant Johnson was on the Ark, on the brink of Death. He has been shot by 343-Guilty Spark, and now Death is starting to encroach. Suddenly, he sees a black portal, and staggers to his feet. Time has stopped, with the Chief and Arbiter about to destroy the Monitor and activate the Halo Ring 4B. "Wait a minute, didn't John say something about these?" Johnson says, looking at the portal in curiosity. "Well, anywhere's better than here." he says, dragging himself in. As he falls, his armor and body are healed, and the Sergeant Major feels 10 years younger, when he was on Harvest and Reach. "Oh yeah, this has gotta be the thing the Chief was talkin' about." He says, wondering if everything the Chief said about these things and what lies beyond is true.
