As a girl passed by Chloe, she bumped into her. It wasn't her fault, really, she just took up more space than others. She brushed her hair back, smiling awkwardly.
"Yeah, I'm okay," Chloe replied, moving again as a couple guys walked through the entrance. "Nice to meet you, Ember. I'm Chloe." She shook the girl's good hand, trying to be polite as possible. After all, Ember hadn't given her an off look like the girl who'd stared at her, then turned away in nervousness. She had a cast, and she wondered in the back of her mind how that happened.
"Hey, which class do you have first?" she asked hesitantly, wondering if perhaps they could share the first period. That might brighten her day.
Edging sideways, she held her hand out and looked down at the ancient woman that sat before her. The paper was put into her hand. She said nothing.. the administrator knew who she was. They all did.
Whoever had sent the original schedule sent it to her parent's address, which they'd discarded without telling her. She was angry at them, for not even caring for their daughter, nor their future grandchild. They only paid for her hospital bills. She'd have to raise the baby on her own. Speaking of the baby, she had an appointment soon, and then she'd know whether she had a son or daughter.

Glancing down, she reviewed it slowly. Ah, good. She liked that arrangement.
Chloe looked back at Ember, smiling, wanting to get to class. Just because she was pregnant people assumed she was "bad". It wasn't her fault. It was Nicholas's.
And if she missed class on the first day that would only garauntee that the teacher would be looking over her shoulder the entire year.
