~Eliza Whittaker - 3:14am - Miskatonic University - Girl's dormitory.

Eliza Whittaker had woken up early the morning before to pack her things in the van and head to what would be the next four years of her life. She had made a checklist for herself, making sure not to miss a thing. Then she and her mother and younger brother had made the hour-and-a-half drive to the university and had spent the rest of the day unpacking and decorating her dorm room.

They had stopped for lunch and dinner, going to a fast food restaurant for lunch and a dining hall for dinner. After Eliza was tucked neatly into her half of the room her mother and brother had left with hugs and kisses and promises of 'real food' every time she came home for a visit. Not that the dining hall had had bad food, but it was college food and that was enough for anyone to know its quality and taste.

Eliza had crammed everything into one half of the room because her roommate was scheduled to arrive the next day. She had spent a few hours before bed watching DVDs on her 24 inch television and had fallen asleep during an episode of Xiaolin Showdown. Now, after a peaceful sleep she found herself wide awake sitting in bed. She could swear she heard someone scream and she listened intently for further noise. Her heart was pounding and she could feel a trickle of cold sweat down her spine but there were nothing but crickets outside her window. She sighed and lay back down on her back, then reached over and hit the 'play' button on her remote control. It was a while before she could get back to sleep.
