Eliza awoke the next morning still feeling tired. She hadn't slept well after waking up in the middle of the night, she'd had strange dreams. She got dressed, wearing faded jeans, a yellow Iron Man t shirt and her red canvas shoes. Quickly she tied back the long strand of hair and grabbed her student ID and keys, and her wallet which was attached to a chain that she could clip onto her pants. She headed out of the girl's dorm and over to a dining hall where she could catch some breakfast. She still had two days to learn the layout of the campus before class started and she wanted to make sure she knew it well, she had a tendency of getting lost, with a poor sense of direction.

Eliza ate, then wandered the campus, locating the library, an art museum, and the science building, as well as a few other dormitories and parking garages. The campus was a little bit bigger than she had anticipated and she ended up at a convenience store just off-campus to purchase a soda. She sat on the curb outside the store, watching traffic and people, and a long-haired mostly black dog with white on its chest. It was wearing a red collar with tags and was greeting people who stopped to fill their vehicles' gas tanks. Most people ignored it.
