Even then, as you say, I could see their eyes, darkest red even in the night. But they don't like water, can't even cross a river unless they jump over it. I don't know how they're planning to leave the island, but they must have a plan."

It was comforting to know Taren was grateful, even through so much pain kindness was necessary to truly move on.
