Avery didn't protest when Kael pushed her back down. It would be for the best anyways. They were almost to Manhatten, and whatever pressure she could keep off her soon-to-be-aching feet, the better.
She politely listened to the story of Kael's past love, and shook her head a few times. She could never imaging giving up anyone she loved.
Well...she was exaggerating a little. If it was Kael, and he was going to be hurt because of her, she'd let him go without protest.
"I'm sorry, Kael..." She said, squeezing her eyes shut tight, to block out the overhead lights that were only adding to her suffering.
She tried to change the subject quickly, and looked around the subway after opening her eyes. She passed over the people until she stopped at one. A man, who walked across the floor to the subway door, lowering his eyes and looking anywhere but them. He gave off an odd aura. One that caused Avery to nudge Kael in the ribs, and cocking her head towards the man.
"Kael...are you sensing anything...strange about him?"
