Philip the guide was making the last few preparations for the journey up the mountain side when he suddenly heard a noise coming from within the living room, he quickly made his way toward the kitchen door which also served as the entrance into the living room, hearing a second noise he paused by the door, with his fingers splayed out upon the swinging, handleless door he slowly and carefully pushed it open. Slowly he poked his head out of the kitchen, trying not to make his presence known to whomever it may be, after a few seconds he slowly made his way into the room. Philip searched in the dark to see if we could find the source of the strange sound. The living room was nearly pitch black, carefully he walked toward the light switch on the left side of the kitchen door, he flicked the switch upwards to the on position, the flicking of the switch failed to illuminate the room, it quickly became apparent that someone had either taken out the lightbulb or had somehow managed to cut the power to the living room. Hugging the wall Philip slowly made his way toward the back room with the hope that he could escape out of the back door. Ae was certain that whoever it was that had disconnected the lightbulb and entered his house was someone he did not want to deal with. The point of egress lay only a few feet away and although Philip had not made a sound as he inched his way toward the back room the invader had obviously already detected him. Philip then heard a third sound, but this time Philip realized that he now recognized the three sounds as the loading of the chamber, the pulling back of the firing bolt, and the cocking of the trigger of a high-powered rifle. His eyes finally became accustomed to the dark enabling him to make out the dark outline of a strange man standing in the far right corner of the living room. That would prove to be the last thing that Philip would ever see or hear.
