The renovation of the house on Chestnut had been going on for several weeks, unfortunately there were several additional permits that needed to be acquired before construction could continue. The house was a classic 1930s style home of red brick and pebbledash, with red clay tile roofs, heavy oak doors, and a clean cut simple design. Don Richards and his family had ancestral roots within the town which stretched back to the war of Northern aggression. After so many decades in the same surroundings the last of the Richards family line had decided to relocate in neighboring Ipswich township. The Richards family had owned the dwelling for 20 years prior to its recent renovation, but now they were determined to remodel the home and put it up for sale. They had plans of totally re-plumbing the house after a recent mishap, but now as it came close to selling the place it quickly became a necessity. That was when they discovered the first of four chambers beneath the house on Chestnut street.
