Kate felt a sharp sting of pain on the top of her head. That man had hit her! And with a rolled up magazine, as if she were some animal. Her temper flared, and fire erupted behind her eyes. Reason was almost gone; she was going to get that guy back for what he did. Before she pounced however, she heard Ken's voice, telling his master that there was a stray cat tearing up his bedroom. Edajima left quickly, and Kate took a few seconds to cool down. As she did, she realized how close she had come to getting her ass handed to her, at the very least. She saw Ken coming out with the other girl and food, she said nothing but a murmered, "Thanks," before saying, "So, did you make that food Ken? I didn't know you were a cook?" She was obviously teasing him.
