Medusa hesitated, turning her face towards the annoying flickering that was disrupting her writing. The battering powered lamp she'd been using was flickering out. While the cold light of a new morning was beginning to filter into their hiding place, the tinted panes of glass covering her eyes made it rather hard to see, even in normal light. She got to her feet, folding the letter up with a gloved hand and slipping it into her pocket before walking away from the flicker. They'd stopped off in an abandoned comic book shop in a small industrial town, a welcome shelter from the rain and a place to hide form those searching for them. It was a simple place, with no power of running water, but the structure was sturdy, and they had a few stolen sheets and sleeping bags....not that Meddie had been using them much. It was about six in the morning, but she hadn't gotten a wink of sleep.

She was worried, to be honest. Worried about the others more than anything. It was getting hard to travel unnoticed...and the continued travelling was taking its toll. Beyond the town was miles of woodland and hills, and food was going to be a lot harder to acquire...something that posed a challenge in itself. She'd been trying to figure everything out in her head...but it all just made her rather nervous.

The gorgon went through to one of the rooms that served as the kitchen, as it had a chipped wooden table and some plastic chairs. She dropped her form into one of the chairs and reached over for a bottle of soda that sat there. The responsible way to start the day of course....their diets had been far from model....but then considering there were no guarantees that they'd live to the end of the week, concerns about weight gain and tooth decay were the last things on their minds.

Elysium Facility, despite its name, was not the most pleasing of places. In fact on the outside one might have overlooked it entirely. It was situated some distance from any towns, on a windy hilltop devoid of trees, nothing by miles of long, grey-green grass against a steely sky. The complex itself was an assortment of blocky grey buildings, the walls made from thick, reinforced concrete. It was built like a fortress in order to prevent security breaches, a legitimate concern considering many of the experiments developed there could easily tear a door off a frame or force their way through a wall.

Inside was little better. There was an air of hospital about some of the interior. The walls were painted white and dispensers of anti-bacterial solution were hung in the corridors. On occasion a purposeful-looking man or woman might stride past with a clipboard or a tray of vials and needles. All of that seemed fairly normal, well until one would catch a glance of a trolley being moved along the corridors and see one of the twisted forms lying on them, sometimes hastily concealed with a white sheet.

Most of the creations of Elysium were never likely to leave. They were twisted failures with short lifespans, their bodies unable to support them. The staff regarded with with disdain and mild disgust. Nearly all the creations were seen with a sort of cold disinterest by most of the staff members...except the Olympians. They were scared of them. There was something profoundly unnerving about a being that could snap your neck as easy as look at you. Of course they were deemed to be entirely safe, but even so their presence left people on edge.

When not out on the training or engaged in other important exercises, the Olympians were housed on the top floor. They were generally given the freedom to wander the floor on the assumption that they would behave, though a strict schedule had to be adhered to at all times. At that point in the day, for one of them it was down as the time when she was expected to charge the VISOR, and this could not be deviated from.

Nemesis' room was dark most of the time, her mode of sight having little need for light. Layers of padding had been fastened onto protruding corners on the bed and furniture, a measure to avoid damage to the wings. The wings were, after all, Nemesis' greatest asset. The Olympian was perched on the edge of her bed in the gloom, a thick power cable trailing down from the side of her head to a socket in the wall.

During charging times, the Olympian was effectively blind, and tended to remain in her room...not that she was especially proactive most of the time. In general she drifted around, almost seeming to be daydreaming, until someone told her what to do. Of course, what she did do was enough to cement a bit of fear from those around her.

Today was another dispatch day, where they'd be sent out to go after the targets yet again. Nemesis knew the drill, and wasn't especially excited. She wasn't especially moved by the idea of killing..but she was quite prepared to of course. It all rather depended on the brief.
