Emerald nodded as he glanced around, then pointed to himself, and it was pretty obvious what he was trying to ask. He seemed to hesitate, just as he had with the other demon. So maybe she was jealous about nothing. However, much as she hated to invide the privacy of someone else's mind, the fact was that he mostly used hand signals to talk. She wasn't likely to understand all of those signals accurately. She hesitated, unsure of her control because of her lack or rest recently, but allowed herself to open her mind, to be able to read only what could possibly be directed at her; just to understand the signals a little better. It certainly wasn't pushing herself into his head, so she felt a little less guilty about it.
Still, she wasn't entirely sure about the sheepish look he gave before looking at his drink, and then downing it. She gave a little grin as he led her towards the crowd. She made sure to keep her mind open for anything that might be relevant. Her grin widened and she glanced at the ground, then back at him, as he questioned whetehr or not she was allowed to do this. She assumed he meant not doing anything to stop the party, or dancing and trying to enjoy herself at the party. "I doubt they can say much about dancing; I won't have much trouble as far as that's concerned."
When was the last time she had danced again? Years ago? Even with her inexperience, she seemed to remember more and more the longer she stayed there. She was surprised to find that she wasn't even pretending to be enjoying herself, despite the crowd. Maybe she should start trying to dance more often. It seemed to be enough to relax herself. She laughed quietly to herself at the last thought she heard. "The boss can deal with it; there's no problem with a little bit of fun." It had always been for her hard to relax; maybe she had just needed to find a party to help. Perhaps next time she'd try the alcohol. Next time.
